Refresh tree with value LOV

Hi,
I'm using Oracle APEX 4.0
In a page, i have item of type "Popup LOV": "TEXT".
I have region of type "Tree" with query:
select case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0
            when level = 1             then 1
            else                           -1
       end as status,
       level,
       "VLINTEXTO" as title,
       null as icon,
       "VLINEA" as value,
       null as tooltip,
       null as link
from "#OWNER#"."LINEAMENU"
where VSISTEMA = NVL('&TEXT.', 'AAAA')
start with "VLINPADRE" = 0
connect by prior "VLINEA" = "VLINPADRE"
order siblings by "VORDEN"If i execute the page ("TEXT" without value), tree show for "AAAA", but if i change value of TEXT for "BBBB".... the tree also is for the value "AAAA". No refresh.
Any solution??
Thnks

Please check that the selective search criteria should be marked as true in the properties of LOV on the page.
Also search allowed property shud be set to true on the lov region item.

  • Using a LOV for the Start of a Tree - Pblms using LOV value for Start SQL

    I'm trying out my first APEX Tree using P20 and am having problems with it. The data structure is I have a clients table, an users table, a plans table and a union table (plan_users) that shows which users for a client are working on plans. An user belongs to a client and can be assigned to plans (plan_users).
    client_id (key to clients table and part of the composite key for users, plans and plan_users) is available as an application item which I can reference as :FOCUS_CLIENT_ID.
    I created several LOV's in the Shared Components. The PLANS_LOV returns all plans defined for the :FOCUS_CLIENT_ID. I've referenced this PLANS_LOV in the P20_ROOT_TREE which is setup to display the list of Plans for the Client as a SELECT LIST WITH SUBMIT. That seems to work and I can select the Plan.
    I then modified the SOURCE for the P20_ROOT_TREE to add a select statement to take the PLANS_ID selected in the LOV and use it in a Select to bring up the owner of the plan as the starting user for the tree. This is where I get an error when executing the SOURCE select statement which looks like this:
    select p.user_id id, p.plan_owner_id pid, u.user_lname name, null link
    from plan_users p, users u
    where p.client_id = :FOCUS_PLAN_ID and p.PLAN_ID = :PLANS_LOV
    and p.user_id = p.plan_owner_id
    and u.client_id = :FOCUS_PLAN_ID and u.user_id = p.user_id
    I'm guessing that the problem is what I'm referencing as :PLANS_LOV in the statement below. However I cannot find any information on how to reference the returned value from the PLANS_LOV for Page 20 so I've tried this.
    If this works right, then I want the user to select a PLAN from the LOV box and then see a tree displayed with all USERS hierarchically displayed beneath the Plan Owner. There may be multiple levels of users display under the Plan Owner.
    Here's the DEBUG page error I get. The number 4 is the correct Plan # I want to select Users for. The title on the page is "Available Plans". - Select Plan - is the default Null Value and Test Plan One is the Plan (#4) that I selected.

    The query I'm using for populating the rest of the tree after the START is this statement below, but I don't think I'm getting to this point yet.
    select p.user_id id, p.plan_owner_id pid, u.user_lname name, null link, null a1, null a2
    from plan_users p, users u
    where p.client_id = :FOCUS_CLIENT_ID
    and u.client_id = :focus_client_id
    and u.user_id = p.client_id
    order by name
    I haven't been able to find any examples of someone using a LOV as part of the START definition for a Tree. All of the examples I've seen use a fixed value (i.e. 1).
    Anyone have some ideas?
    Thanks!
    Rob

    Hi,
    Try something like:
    select p.user_id id, p.plan_owner_id pid, u.user_lname name, null link, null a1, null a2
    from plan_users p, users u
    where p.client_id = :FOCUS_CLIENT_ID
    and u.client_id = :focus_client_id
    and u.user_id = p.client_id
    START WITH :FIRST_USER_ID
    CONNECT BY PRIOR p.user_id = p.plan_owner_id
    order by name:FIRST_USER_ID should be computed to be the first p.user_id value that matches the filter. Ideally, the p.plan_owner_id value should be null for this user as this user should identify the top of the tree. As an example, the following, using the EMP table, will allow you to display a tree with any manager as the root:
    SELECT
    EMPNO ID,
    ENAME NAME,
    CASE WHEN EMPNO = :P1_EMPNO THEN NULL ELSE MGR END PID,
    null LINK,
    null a1,
    null a2
    FROM EMP
    START WITH EMPNO = :P1_EMPNO
    CONNECT BY PRIOR EMPNO = MGRAndy

  • How to refresh Portal form with dependent LOVs ?

    I have a portal form which has dependent LOVs, the first LOV is
    a Site LOV and the next LOV is a Teacher LOV. Once a Site is
    selected, the form refreshes to load the Teacher's LOV with
    teachers belonging to the selected Site.
    In some cases the Site is assigned internally (using Javascript)
    in such cases the form does not refresh automatically; which
    causes the problem, as all the Teachers of all the Sites are
    loaded in the LOV.
    Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks,
    Hilal

    Put this code into the javascript onChange event of the list box
    that you want to automatically refresh the screen with:
    do_event(this.form,this.name,1,'CUSTOM','');
    that should cause the screen to refresh when an item is chosen.
    at that point, the 2nd list box (if you used the :paremter in
    the LOV and bound it to the right field in the form) should come
    up with the proper set of values Thanks Michael,
    But my problem is not with that part of refreshing; that is
    refreshing, when a value is picked from the first LOV to re-load
    the second LOV works fine.
    My problem is only when the value of the first LOV is internally
    set, the form does not refresh to re-load the second LOV. The
    value of the first LOV is loaded(internally) using one of the
    fields in "wwsec_api.person_info", eventhough this value is set,
    it does not trigger a refresh to re-load the dependent second
    LOV.
    I guess a solution to this problem would be to explicitly
    refresh the form (I am not able to figure out how).
    Hope I have clarified myself.
    Thanks.

    Monty,
    Glad to hear it's working for you.
    Oh, you just had to go there ;) Popup LOVs are a bit more difficult because the values are not automatically brought back to the page for you. I've already worked out how this could be implemented in my head - but writing it up, of course, is more of an effort. I've added it to my list of blog articles to write on. Since it's not a requirement right now, I'll cover another topic first and come back to that one afterward.

  • How to get data from list of values (LOV) to be displayed in a text field ?

    Hi guys,
    I am very new to Oracle APEX so please spare me if it is a silly question. How can I get the selected values from a set of list of values (LOV) displayed in a text field (or text area or so) ? Fox example, in my form I create 4 items: STATE, COUNTY, STREET, ZIPCODE and all of them are LOV (list of values). I also create 2 buttons (ADD & REMOVE). Then I create a test field (or text area name SELECTED RECORD). Now here is what I want to do with my form:
    When I set the values for all 4 fields, I will click on the ADD button then I want those values be displayed in the text field.
    For example, if the selected values are:
    STATE = Alabama
    COUNTY = Abbeville
    STREET= 1 Street
    ZIPCODE = 36310
    And the ADD button is pressed. Then in the text field I want it displays like this:
    Alabama,Abbeville,1 Street,36310
    If I choose other values and click ADD again, a new line will be added into the text fields (text area). If I click the REMOVE button, then it will clear those two line in the text field.
    Would it be possible to do it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    If you can live with the page being submitted and refreshed, make your ADD button do a submit with a request value of ADD and make your REMOVE button do a submit with a request value of REMOVE.
    Then create two computations (one firing with a condition of Request = ADD and the other firing with a condition of Request = REMOVE).
    In the ADD one, concatenate the values together into the text area (most likely a PL/SQL computation wiill be what you want). In the REMOVE one, set it to null with a PL/SQL computation.
    If you want it done without submitting the page, make the buttons each do a redirect to a URL but instead you will have to write two short javascript functions in the page HTML header to manipulate the field values. Each button would call each javascript function in an onclick event.

  • Need help with XML response to refresh document with context and prompts

    I've been working with the Restful api for a few weeks now and have been able to figure out most of what I need to automate testing of our reports. However, one task that I have not been able to figure out is how to refresh a document that contains both a context and two prompts for dates.
    Here is what I have tried, and what the API responds with.
    1) I queried the API for this document's parameters using the following call after logging in -
    headers = {:accept=>'application/xml', :content_type=>'application/xml', :x_sap_logontoken=>@token}
    url = "http://our.url.net:6405/biprws/raylight/v1/documents/12345/parameters"
    RestClient.get(url, headers)
    The response from the API is:
    <parameters>
        <parameter dpId="DP0" type="context" optional="false">
            <id>0</id>
            <technicalName>cQuery 1</technicalName>
            <name>Select a context</name>
            <answer type="Text" constrained="true">
                <info cardinality="Single">
                    <lov partial="false">
                        <values>
                            <value id="CTX_1">LOAN</value>
                            <value id="CTX_9">LOAN_APPLICATION</value>
                        </values>
                    </lov>
                    <values>
                        <value id="CTX_1">LOAN</value>
                        <value id="CTX_9">LOAN_APPLICATION</value>
                    </values>
                    <previous>
                        <value id="CTX_9">LOAN_APPLICATION</value>
                    </previous>
                </info>
                <values>
                    <value id="CTX_9">LOAN_APPLICATION</value>
                </values>
            </answer>
        </parameter>
    </parameters>
    2) This tells me I need to supply a context, so I then replace my RestClient.get call with a RestClient.put call with the following payload:
    <parameters>
         <parameter>
                <id>0</id>
                <answer>
                      <values>
                            <value id=\"CTX_9\"/>
                      </values>
                </answer>
          </parameter>
    </parameters>
    3) This satisfies the context portion of the refresh. The API replies with the following response, telling me I need to answer two prompts -
    <parameters>
         <parameter dpId=\"DP0\" type=\"prompt\" optional=\"false\">
              <id>1</id>
              <technicalName>psEnter value(s) for Start Date of Application Received Date</technicalName>
              <name>Enter value(s) for Start Date of Application Received Date</name>
               <answer type=\"DateTime\" constrained=\"false\">\
                    <info cardinality=\"Single\"/>
               </answer>
         </parameter>
         <parameter dpId=\"DP0\" type=\"prompt\" optional=\"false\">
                <id>2</id>
                <technicalName>psEnter value for End Date of Application Received Date</technicalName>
                <name>Enter value for End Date of Application Received Date</name>\
                <answer type=\"DateTime\" constrained=\"false\">
                    <info cardinality=\"Single\"/>
                </answer>
          </parameter>
    </parameters>
    4) Here is where I am having problems. I have tried all kinds of permutations of the below payload/response body. All I ever get from the API is a 400 - BadResponse error.
    <parameters>
         <parameter>
              <id>0</id>
              <answer>
                   <values>
                        <value id=\"CTX_9\"/>
                   </values>
              </answer>
         </parameter>
    </parameters>
    <parameters>
         <parameter type=\"prompt\">
              <id > 1 </ id>
              <answer type=\"DateTime\">
                   <values>
                        <value>2012-06-11T09:50:54.000-04:00</value>
                   </values>
               </answer>
         </parameter>
         <parameter type=\"prompt\">
               <id > 2 </ id>
               <answer type=\"DateTime\">
                    <values>
                         <value>2014-07-11T09:50:54.967-04:00</value>
                    </values>
               </answer>
         </parameter>
    </parameters>
    I am not very good with XML and the terminology around it, and I haven't received much training around using the Restful API other than the SDK documentation. I have a feeling there is something very basic that Im missing here. What is the correct XML needed in the response body to properly refresh the document?

    If you are more confortable with JSON, Raylight supports it as well.
    Best regards,

  • Mandatory fields on the same page with dependent LOVs

    Hi,
    I am working on an ADF-BC application using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4
    I have an ADF Creation form with dependent LOVs and while implementing dependent LOVs we set the autoSubmit property of the selectOneChoiceListBox as true.
    If I have some mandatory fields on the same page then because of the autoSubmit property set as true whenever I select a value in the list the page gets submitted and the mandatory fields give an error that the values are required therefore I had to remove the mandatory fields.
    I tried using f:subview but even that dint serve the purpose because what I want is something like partialSubmit so that my mandatory fields do no give an error when I select a value in the list.
    Can somebody help me on this, how to have a dependent list and mandatory fields on the same page.
    P.S: It is very crucial for my application
    Thanks,
    Raksha

    Hello,
    This bug has been around since 10.1.3, its even still present in Trinidad and now in 11.
    One of the ways to avoid is to make your fields use:
    showRequired="true"instead of
    required="true"I have not found a decent way to avoid this in general.
    My idea was that this shiould be possible with a phaselistener and determine if this is a partial page event instead of a normal submit, but this didnt work.

  • Problem in Tree with in a table

    Hi Experts,
    I have created a WDC which contains the tree with in a table.
    I have created a table in the view and a Master column in it.
    Initially i loaded the tree with some values in my WDDOINIT of my view.
    I have also created the event handler for that Master column i.e., OnLoadChildren event handler.
    I have written some code in it, so that this event handler method will be called when i try to expand a node in the table.
    Unfortunately, the debugger is not getting in to that method, and that event is not being called when i Expand the tree node in the table.
    Please suggest me so that i can complete the assignment.
    Thanks in advance and for all the help given till now.

    Hi
    You can join a hierarchical query as you suggest; you can also use SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH() to identify the subproduct. Here's the kind of query you need - I've used the HR sample data, but you should be able to transform this into products, subproducts etc
    select subproduct.first_name, subproduct.last_name, part.job_id, sum(part.salary), count(distinct part.employee_id)
    from employees subproduct
    left join (
    select level lev
         , sys_connect_by_path(last_name,'/') reportsto
         , sys_connect_by_path(to_char(employee_id,'fm0000'),'/') ancestors
         , substr(sys_connect_by_path(to_char(employee_id,'fm0000'),'/'),7,4) subprodid
         , emp.*
    from employees emp
    start with employee_id = 100 -- like identifying the product
    connect by prior employee_id = manager_id
    ) part
    on part.subprodid = to_char(subproduct.employee_id,'fm0000')
    where subproduct.manager_id=100
    group by subproduct.first_name, subproduct.last_name, part.job_idYou'll see I've used a fixed format connect_by_path (with 4 digits per level) which makes it easy to pull out the second level.

    hi i have spent more than 5 days trying to make a very simple rich faces tree but with no result
    i want to make a very simple dyamic tree

    i have tried the source code but with no result :(
    thank you

    You can try something like this

  • "Merge with values" not merging values

    Hello,
    I have quite a problem with LDAP provisionning and LDAP groups management:
    - "user1" and "user2" already exist in the LDAP directory and are members of "group1"
    - I create user1 in IDM and give him the LDAP ressource => he gets linked correctly to his account
    - I create user2 in IDM
    - I have a role in IDM with the LDAP ressource associated and a "set attribute value" configured with "group2" and "merge with values"
    - when I give this role to user1, user1 gets group1 and group2 in the LDAP directory. Great.
    - when I give this role to user2, user2 gets linked correctly to his account and only has group2! group1 has disappeared and no merge whatsoever was performed!
    Of course, my real situation involves thousands of existing users, and I plan to manage user ressources only via Roles and not via Ressource. I then have thousands of user2 who are going to lose their groups!
    I also tried with "Authoritative merge with values", same result.
    Any idea what should be changed?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    If the users already have access to 'group1' then create a role with "Merge with value, clear existing" for the attribute.
    If required then create another role for 'group2' also with "Merge with value, clear existing" for the attribute. A user who is assign both roles will be granted access to 'group1' and'group2'
    "Merge with value, clear existing" will ensure the user only has access to the groups as per the role assignments. If the user is independently assigned 'group3' then IDM will remove 'group3' next time the user is refreshed within IDM.
    If you only use "Merge with value" then old groups will not be removed even if they are not required.

  • ADF Tree with several sublevel : how to dinamically change labels ?

    Hello,
    I defined a tree (not treetable) like this
    Label (12)
      Sublevel (5)
        Another (0)
      Second (1)
    Label Two (5)
    ...  The number is corresponding to the number of element present in the corresponding level, number could be different depending on the user.
    For each level I have a VO, having a ViewCriteria to filter user or not (display user's elements or all element)
    I use a selectoneradio to change display.
    When I change the filter, the display of the first level changes (for instance "Label (12)" updated to "Label (25)"). But sublevel are not updated.
    How can I have the text updated ?
    In nodeStamp facet, I tried both outputtext and activeoutputtext with value :
    value="#{node.NodeLabel} (#{node.NodeNumber})"But sublevel never updated, and VO successfully updated (it seems)
    Any idea ?

    I add a precision. In fact the problem does not come from the labels, but the sub-level queries seem not updated.
    level 1 query looks like :
    select node_label,node_number,node_key,parent_key
      from (
        select level1.label,mypackage.getnumber(level1.key,:user),level1.key,null
          from common.level1)level 2 query looks like :
    select node_label,node_number,node_key,parent_key
      from (
        select level2.label,mypackage.getnumber(level2.key,:user),level2.key,level2.parent
          from common.level2)In the tree, if the bind variable :user is changed (through setuser method in the VO Java's code) and the VO's method (level1 and level2) executeQuery is called, the tree still displays the result of the first call fot sub-levels (starting at level2) although the first level is well updated.

  • Oracle 10g FRM-41051 on a non-database text item with a LOV

    Hi all,
    I'm struggling with a problem I'm convinced must have a really simple solution, but for the life of me I can't figure it out!
    I have a data block called query. It is a non-DB block with a number of items, with either LOVs or drop down lists. It is used to choose values, which are them programatically 'translated' into values in two other database data blocks (which are populated in the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger of a button in the non-DB block).
    This is necessary as I have a slightly complex query which takes values from many different tables and displays bits of information from all the different tables.
    My problem is that, on my text item (which has a LOV attached to it with Automatic Display set to Yes); when I click on it, I expect the LOV to show and I am able to choose a value from it. Instead I get the error 'FRM-41051 You cannot create records here' and the LOV does not display.
    I don't understand this. Everything on the block is a non-DB item, including the block itself, and I don't want to 'create' any records, all I want to do is choose values into my text items which I can then use in a DB query (written in my trigger).
    What am I doing wrong?
    Abigail

    Probably this other item or block has got property insert allowed to FALSE.
    I have suggested you to use a push button in order to check that everything in the LOV is OK.
    Lov can also return value to item in another block; probably in your case there is something that fires the error.
    Normally when I develop my form I disable on-error and on-message trigger in order to follow every step at runtime...
    I'm happy that you have resolved your problem :D

  • Chart based on Select list with submit Lov problem

    Hi,
    I have one page with interactive report showing username with links, date and
    database actions.
    Another page contains one region having flash chart based on select list with submit Lov.
    The lov is created by dynamic query.
    Every time when i click the 1st page report link, the 2nd page lov is populating the value automatically. But the problem is chart displays NO DATA FOUND message though the LOV has many values.
    I don't want to display any null values so set to NO for LOV
    I tried to write Before header computation (PL/SQL Function Body) to set the lov value, but the query is displayed as such.
    I don't want to assign any static default value also as the values are dynamic for every link.
    The following is my Before header computation of Select list with submit (Item name is p11_schema). (PLSQL Function Body)
    begin
    if :p11_schema is null then
    return 'select distinct owner schema1, owner schema2 from auditing
    where access_date=' || :p11_access_date
    || ' and username=' || :p11_username
    || ' order by owner';
    end if;
    end;
    This is my chart query.
    select null link, obj_name label, sum(sel_count) "Select", sum(ins_count) "Insert", sum(upd_count) "Update", sum(del_count) "Delete" from auditing
    where username=:p11_username
    and access_date=:p11_access_date
    and owner=NVL(:p11_schema, OWNER)
    group by owner, obj_name
    Example: If there more than one records in the lov, the graph should display the 1st record. When i select another record, the chart accordingly display the selected values. But inially it should not display "NO DATA FOUND" message.
    I tried using all the combinations of computation type for the lov, SQL query ( I could not use if conditon then), PLSQL expression, PLSQL function body. But it does not work out.
    Can anyone please help me out.
    Thanks.

    Hi Scott,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I found out the solution for this problem as below.
    But i did it in different way to tackle the dynamic query wich returns more than one record using rownum always the 1st record when it is empty instead of assigning constant (static) value like '1'. And i am returning LOV itself for both null or not null condition as below.
    Declare
    q varchar2(4000);
    begin
    if :p11_schema is null then
    q:='select distinct owner schema from auditing';
    q:=q || ' where username=:p11_username ';
    q:=q || ' and access_date=:p11_access_date ';
    q:=q || ' and rownum<2 order by owner';
    Execute immediate q into :p11_schema USING :p11_username, :p11_access_date;
    end if;
    return :P11_SCHEMA;
    end;
    Thanks.

  • Is this a bug? createdBy populated with value "1"

    I have a field in entity object mapped as historical column "createdBy". once I create a new record, this field populated as login user name. -- this works fine.
    However, after I specify this field "refresh after inserted/updated". this field populated with value "1" automatically once new record created. -- Is this a bug?
    BTW, the historical column "modifiedBy" does not have this problem.
    Thanks

    at TestInterface.initComponents(TestInterface.java:48)What you posted there cannot be the entire contents of the method. According to the stack trace, your initComponents method, at line 48, calls the setMaximum method of some JInternalFrame object. However, the problem remains: Why a NullPointerException? It's possible there is a bug in the JVM, but that theory doesn't get your problem solved if it's true. And it's more likely (MUCH more likely for most of us) that it's a bug in your program. But what could that be? I looked at the API documentation for JInternalFrame.setMaximum and noticed this:
    "A maximized frame is resized to fully fit the JDesktopPane area associated with the JInternalFrame."
    I don't know how you would "associate" a JDesktopPane with a JInternalFrame, but possibly if you failed to do that, then references to the JDesktopPane would fail with a NullPointerException.
