Reg: ADF Select One List box..

Hi,
I have a view object which is associated with application module.
I am dragging onto the form as Select one List box. In the list binding Editor , I have only one data source. When I am trying to specify the Base data source attribute and list datasource attribute , it gives an error
"Base Data Source and List Data Source Cannot Be bound to the same view"
and am selecting the Display attribute as "multiple"

Hi,
the base data source is where the selected data is written to. The display data source is from where you get the list data.
You need to have at least two VO for this to work. Next to the display data source there is a button you press to create an iterator binding for the list VO.

ADF Select one Choice not showing Required

Hello,
I have a simple ADF page that I have dragged an "ADF Select one choice" field onto. It has an LOV tied to it. I have set the field as required and given a required message to show. The issue is that the field does not show as required when i save the recrod.. and it also does not show any message or turn red. I was able to save the record tgo the database with out the field being filled in.... i assumed since I set the field to required in the property inspector it would not let it store an empty field.
When I changed this field to an input combo box list of vlaues then it behaved as expected.
Is this a bug with Jdeveloper ... or just a bug with the developer ( me ) :) .
I am using 11.1.1.3.o version.

Inserting in table but ADF Select One Choice data is lost

hi I'm using Jdev 11g
I've fusion web App
which handling purchase Invoices
contains a form for master table purchase
and a af:table for Invoice detatils table purchase_items
I'm tring to insert data in af:table detail table which contain ADF Select One Choice. for produc names
and text box for both cost and quantity and groovy based colum for the amount of (cost * quantity)
the property auto submit for both columns cost and quantity is set to true
to update the amount value when user makes any changes on the cost or quantity
my Problem that
when I Insert new record and I select value from the product column( Select One Choice )
and when i type the cost or the quntity I loos the selected value before in the product ( Select One Choice )
and this is not accebtable for the end user to select the product tow times
any one could help about this

I'm sorry but it seems it is have solution
I test it agin with auto submit for cost and quntity set to true
and still losing data in ADF Select One Choice
there are no coding used in my App
and ther are no value on value change listener on cost or quantity
i think it hapen because i have mandatory fileds like product and cost
it's firing validation of filed is requierd

In the context tab , create 2 context attributes ca_attr1 and ca_attr2   of type WDY_BOOLEAN under a context node cn_node
now in ur Layout , bind the ENABLE property of CheckBoxGroup UI Element with this attribute ca_attr1
bind the ENABLE property of CheckBox UI Element with this attribute ca_attr2
create a action for ur Checkbox , for the OnToggle property of ur checkbox
in OnactionToggle , check if ca_attr2 is 'X' , set ca_attr2 to ' ' ( for disable)
this can be done by code wizard , press control +f7 and use read/set context attributes , use get_attribute and set_attribute methods

ADF Faces Dependent list boxes in an editable table

Hi,
I'm working with JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0.
I saw the topic "How to build dependent list boxes with ADF II" on F. Nimphius' Blogbuster.
There it is shown how to handle dependent list boxes in an ADF Faces form. I tried this for an editable table but it doesn't work correctly: If there is more than one row in the resultset of the table, both dependent list boxes have the same content in all the rows though the content in the database is different.
Can anyone help me?

It works fine, when the user only want to update existing rows. But if he had inserted a new row and afterwards want to update existing rows, the listboxes don't show the correct contents. No error messages are displayed.

How to bind 2 ADF Select One Choice objects to work as a relation

Greetings,
im new to Jdeveloper, i got used to Microsoft Visual Studio (regarding bindings) and im lost here.
So here what im trying to do:
I have 2 tables in my database (Cities & States),
i am creating 1 view object for each so i can link them to "select one choice" objects. The first object, should show ALL cities (that part is done),
but when i choose a city from that object, the second object should show only the corresponding states of that city. I managed to do
that, using ADF Form, simple by clicking navigation buttons, and what ever is on the city list, the correct states are shown in the second object.
My goal here is, instead of navigating with buttons (for the city object), and then choose states from the second object as a list, i want also my city
object to be a "select one choice" object, so both will be a drop down list, and not navigating to all cities until i find the one im searching for.
I try that but when i choose a city from city object, the second object is not show the corresponding states but keep showing all the states that exists in my country.
I don't want to use java beans for this but just adf bindings.
Can you assist me please?

make not PoleisView4 inside of Nomarxia (cities), so thats the relationship i use for states.
*A small update, im trying different combos for partialTrigger or in general anything so i can figure out my self whats the problem of not refreshing the 2nd object,
and i noticed most of the cases im getting this warning "<FacesCtrlListBinding> <getInputValue> ADFv: Could not find selected item matching value 1 of type: java.lang.String in the list-of-values."
looks like whatever i choose from the list of cities, it keep looking of value 1 (keep in mind value 1, do not have a state relation, only half of my list currently have states).
That means the problem is not refreshing the 2nd object (atleast for now), but refreshing its own id

an error accurod "java.lang.ClassCastException" or "java.lang.NullPointerException" when i bind it to Properties from manageBean
i need to know how to bind it and what kind of List or Type that Select one choice took in bind ??

Multiple Selections in List Box

Hello all. I am new to the Adobe Family and especially PDF designing, so please bear with me. I have gone through the Help section, and did searches on here to find an answer but have not had luck. I need to make a list box that the user chooses multiple choices. As in some forms that have if you hold down the CTRL button you can choose multiple choices. During my searches I keep finding coding lines. I'm not sure how to do coding at all, I'm using the Designer 7 template forms where I can choose the icon, and then go over to Object, Value, etc. Is what I want to do even possible with Designer 7? If so, how can I make this work. If not, what program would I need to use? Thank you in advance for your help!

When I look at either a list box or a drop-down list and look at the "Field" tab I do not see a "Allow Multiple Selection" checkbox. I am using designer version 7.0.041126.0. Is it not supported in this version or am I missing something.

Try with something like this:
select-options s_contry for <your table name>-<field name > NO-INTERVALS.
In the selection screen, you can see a button next to the select-option.
If you click on that, you can enter multiple values, ranges, and values to exclude or ranges to exclude.

How to select One Check Box at a time

Dear All
I have 10 records in details blok and also I have 10 check boxes .
I want user can only check one check box at a time .
For example If first record I have checked and i am trying to check the last record then the first record UNCHECKED and the last record will checked .
Like how redio buttons work ..
How can i do that ..?

An easier method would be to use a Calculated Field to summarize the value of your CHECKBOX Item. For example, add a non-table item (call it SUM_CHECKED) to your detail block and do not assign it to canvas - so it will not be displayed. Then set the following properties of the SIM_CHECKED item:
Database Item = No
Calculation Mode = Summary
Summary Function = Sum
Summarized Block = <YOUR DETAIL BLOCK>
Summarized Item = <YOUR CHECKBOX ITEM>
Next, you will need to change your Detail Block property Query All Records to YES (this is required for the Calulated Item).
Now, make sure your checkbox is data type NUMBER and has the following minimum properties set:
Data Type = Number
Maximum Length = 1
Initial Value = 0
Value when Checked = 1
Value when Unchecked = 0
Check Box Mapping of Other Values = Not Allowed or Unchecked
Now, in your Checkbox Item's When-Checkbox-Changed trigger add code similar to this:

END IF;I have confirmed this method works and it is more efficient than looping through your records to see if other checkboxes are checked.

Multi Selection from a List Box to a Text Box

So I want to be able to make Multi Selections within List box and export it to the Text box. Right now I have a Script running on the cal of the Text Box
event.value = getField("LISTBOX").valueAsString;
Which is able to do one selection but I cant find anybody that can grab two selecitons and put into a text box with commas for something. Is there a way to do this?

Wow over my head a little. I understand what an array is with script but not how to write the script to handle it. I made this:
event.value = getField("LISTBOX").value;
But still no change in the behavior with multi selections. Example below if you want to check it out.

"Dynamic List Box with Single Selection" Survey Suite in CRM 6.0

I am using CRM 6.0. There in Survey Suite there are 2 answering options "Dynamic List Box with Single Selection" & "Dynamic List Box with Multiple Selection". I am able to make out, how we can assign values to this. I have seen example "Example_Dynamic_survey" also.
I believe we have to use programming for populating this. But how do we have to carry that out.

Hi Hitesh,
There is no need of programming for populating values for Answer category 'List Box with Single Selection' or 'List Box with Multiple Selection'. You have to follow the following steps to populate values for those:
- In the Answer Category select List Box with Single Selection from drop down list
- Then on left hand side tree, right click on Answer and select Insert Answer Option (Answer->Insert Answer Option)
- Then on right side, provide Text for the answer (value)
- To add more values, repeat the process Answer->Insert Answer Option and providing text for those answers in the right side.
Similarly you can populate values for 'List Box with Multiple Selection' also.
This has to be done in the transaction CRM_SURVEY_SUITE.
