Multiple value selection in List Box

Hi Experts,
In the selection screen of a report program, I have created a list box for countries as below:
PARAMETERS p_contry TYPE zcountry AS LISTBOX VISIBLE LENGTH 20 OBLIGATORY. " Country
While executing, I want to select multiple countries using CTRL key. is it possible if so then I can get it.

Try with something like this:
select-options s_contry for <your table name>-<field name > NO-INTERVALS.
In the selection screen, you can see a button next to the select-option.
If you click on that, you can enter multiple values, ranges, and values to exclude or ranges to exclude.

Getting multiple values from a list box

Hi,
I am not able to get multiple selected values from a list box using the getParameterValues(). I used the following code..
String[] names=request.getParameterValues("lname");
can anyone tell me what the error is or is there any other way i can get multiple selected values from a list box.

This is the JSP Code am using for testing

Instead of name.lenght==1 try with name!=null

The list box D1 is a multiple select list box.
If it still doesn't work, check that the checkboxes have the same name as well as different values

Return multiple values from a list box

hi I have a listBox (<mx:List>) that is populated by a
webService acting as its dataProvider ("myDataProvider")......
within the listBox the value shown from the dataProvider is
the "customerName", there is also a customerID values within the
dataProvider.
I have set the "allowMultipleSelection" equal to true so that
more than one row / value can be selected.
I want to retrieve all of the ID (customerID) valause from
all of the selected rows within the listBox.
if I use the following:
var myObj:Object = new Object;
myObj.id = myListt.selectedItem.CUSTOMERID;
it works - but only returns 1 single ID value (the first
selected etc) when I change "selectedItem" to "selectedItems" it
does not return anything:
var myObj:Object = new Object;
myObj.id = myListt.selectedItems.CUSTOMERID;
can anyone help me out here.... ?

Thanks. I forgot to post the answer. I did use an Array, but
since I needed a string of IDs only, I had to loop through the
Array to build the comma-sep string.
public function mySelections():void
var loopList:String = "";
var selectedLoops:Array = patchedLoops.selectedItems;

loopList = loopList + selectedLoops
.CategoryID + ",";
si.text = loopList;
This worked great, but before I could submit to the database
I had to strip off the trailing comma in my CFC.

Multiple value selection lists - Problem filtering

I'm builing a news application with publisher, and one of the fields is a multiple value selection list. We're filtering news stories to different pages based on the values. Problem is, I can't get the right content items to display. I did it no problem with a single selection box. The code I'm using is:

So if 'choice2' is in a single select list, no problem. If it's part of a multiple select, I get nothing. I'm thinking I'm missing something really easy, like logic operators. But I couldn't find anything of help in the documentation

Syntax : contains(string1,string2) this returns true if string 1 has string 2
Usage
<pcs:if expr="contains(test,'A')">
</pcs:if>
** 'test' is the name of the multi select box

First of all check your version of Xcelsius ( open Xcelsius -> got to Help tab ->About Xcelsius check the version) if it is 5.3.3.0 then its ok...otherwise open the below link to download the HotFix-

the functionality is offered in latest Fix Pack only. After you install the fix, you will get an additional functionality of multiple series selection in Combo Box as well as in List Box.
Add as many series as you want for multiple value selection.

How to get multiple values from the list

I've a list of an item which I queried it from the database. I also created a button that will takes a selected items from the list when it was clicked. I used javabean to get the data from database.

Lets say the item that i selected from the list is 'Xplace' and I clicked on the Select District button,
what I got is this error message:
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to convert string 'Xplace' to class java.util.Vector for attribute usrTDistrict: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Property Editor not registered with the PropertyEditorManager
So where is going wrong and what the message means?. Any help very much appreciated. Thanks

These are just guesses that might hopefully steer you in directions you haven't looked in yet.
I presume you used triangle brackets (< >) to avoid having the Jive Forum think it was the "italics" tag?
Are you certain this: dbaseInfo.getcurrentDistrictID(nstate,vselectedDistrict);
expects a Vector as its second parameter? And returns a Vector?
I don't believe you've shown how you use the javabean, or its code? Perhaps it should be rewritten to accept an array of strings instead of a Vector?

How do I populate form fields depending on the value of a list box?

Can anybody help me out here?
I'm creating a form where I'm needing to populate a number of fields (first name & last name) based on the value of a list box (values are 1,2,3,4,5,6) ie: if 3 is selected 3 sets of the first name and last name fields populate on the page for the user to fill out.
At this stage it is just a prototype site and there is no database running behind it.

This can only be solved if you have javascript coding skills. Without knowing more about what you want to do and why, I can only show you a skeleton of how your code should look, but consider this form select field -
<select onchange="populateForm()">
When a value is selected from that list, the "onchange" event will fire, and will call the javascript function called populateForm(). You need to define a function by that name somewhere on the page -

     if value >1 { .... }
     etc.

The page itself would need to have ALL the fields already in the form, but with those that are to be revealed set to a style of display:none.
Obviously, this is a skinny skeleton. Each test in the function would reveal a new field on the page by changing its display style from "none" (which is how they should be set in the code) to "block". You would need a separate function for each type of field that might need to be chosen.
If this is well over your head, then I'm afraid you will be out of luck for this particular approach....

Crystal Token (Multiple Values Selection)

Hello Experts,
I am using a view for a custom report and have a problem with token i have defined. I would like to Token to display multiple value selection list so user can check the style he need.
Ex: When i use select * from OITW the token displays item code selection list but when i am using view crystal does not display selection list. Does the tokens respect Views? Please advise.

It seems that putting a B1 table in there makes it work. The same applies to selection from UDT's

I have a view object which is associated with application module.
I am dragging onto the form as Select one List box. In the list binding Editor , I have only one data source. When I am trying to specify the Base data source attribute and list datasource attribute , it gives an error
"Base Data Source and List Data Source Cannot Be bound to the same view"
and am selecting the Display attribute as "multiple"

Hi,
the base data source is where the selected data is written to. The display data source is from where you get the list data.
You need to have at least two VO for this to work. Next to the display data source there is a button you press to create an iterator binding for the list VO.

Check you have any exits to do that, if there are no exits then you can Copy the program and change the code.
to add the extra value in list box, you just have to append the new line to the internal table which you are passing to VRM_SET_VALUES FM.
some thing like this..

Multiple values selection implementation in VC

Hi
I am working with VC. We are trying to implement an multiple input selection.
Our first option was to use the Help value wizard but i saw in this forums that is just possible with BI systems (we are using BAPI thus R/3 system).
Now, we are trying to change de BAPI and put the input in tables. This goes well in R/3.
Howeaver when we implement in VC this BAPI and fill the input table in the screen and send a submit message those table values are not sent.
Any idea what is going on ? Is there a way to implement our requirement the multiple value selection using BAPI ?

As Marcel said it can be a lot of things. It is hard say. But I can tell from my experience that when you charge a BAPI in your source system you dont grab this change in VC. You should try to save your BAPI under other name and re-import it to VC.
Do you how to debug using SE73? This should help you also to follow your BAPI behaviour and also see if VC is really executing your BAPI.

BSP: multiple values selection in select-option

Our customer requires multiple values selection in BSP pages as he is used to in standard SAP GUI.
I found it's impossible in standard.
Could it be possible to used javascript for this ... each select-option would have its own script that would pass table with selected values as parameter to HTTP request?

Of course this is possible, you have HTML in the frontend, so you can do as much as HTML allows you. If you know DHTML you can play with it and create almost every layout you want, but then you have to keep in mind that you will have to take care about everything behind, starting from conversions (input/output), formatting, validation and so on.
