Reg : Doubts in Inventory

Dear SDN friends
I started to work with inventory.
I Installed the 0IC_C03 (Material Stocks/Movements) with collection option " data flow before and after".
I replicated the data source 2LIS_03_BX for loading Stock Initialialization to the 0IC_C03.
I had the following doubts
1) The respecive Info Objects for fields in 2LIS_03_BX is not available in the Cube.
(Nearly only five fields are available)
2) What are all Inobjects available in Cube is not available in data source 2LIS_03_BX
(Nearly only five fields are available)
Quick response highly appriciated. Points will be awarded for clearing my doubt.
(The above same with 2LIS_03_BF also)

At the time of Installation of Cube, i did not checked.
But now i could able to see, those missed objects in BW and were in active status.
Anyway i didnot installed those obejcts separately.

When compares with 2LIS_03_BX, lot of info objects are missed out.
Just for trial purpose, i copied the 0IC_C03 and addded those missed objects in separate cube, i extracted the data.
Just, I want ensure why it happened...

Dear Gurus,
Good Morning everybody,
My issue is like this,
We have a inventory number range in calendar year basis; we have changed the number ranges on 01st Jan 2008 and assign new number ranges for 2008. Now we got request from plant to do the physical inventory. When I saved MI01 document created as 2007 number range.
Ex - I have assigned current number for 2008 1xxxxxx100 but system is taking 1xxxxxx50 is new number and I am receiving mail like this

Hi Shankar,
Can you do the following check in production cleint:
1. In the place where you configured the new number range, can you check the old number range is upto what year.
ie. in t-code SNUM for object MATBELEG check the number range year.
Example for the 1xxxxxx50 number range if the year is 2007 then till 2007 calender year is over the same number range will be picked up.
In such a case, you have to delete the 2007 record itself, and create a new record with year 2008 and give the new number range.

Reg: doubt on bi extractors

i have a doubt in bi 7 regarding the extractors, previously in in 3.5 , when the datasource is replicated to the bw, what we do is we assign datasource to infosoucre and start loadin the data but in ,in bi 7 , the data souce is already available, in this case how do we extract the data and assign the datasoucre in bi 7 to the datasourece which came from r/3, i realy confused , can any one help with steps and procedure, how assign the datasouce in bi 7

Hello ,
In BI 7 we have to replicate the data source ,
First Select Source System,
Select the client,
Goto your desired data source,
Right Click on DataSourec-> ReplicateMetadata
Then, Create InfoPackage to get the data in to PSA
Please, note that in BI 7.0 PSA stage is mandatory, So you must have to load the data through infopackage to PSA.
Create transformation .
Create DTP.
Note that infoSource is optional iin BI 7.0
After that Schedule the Info package.
Execute the DTP.
Now see the data in INfo provider .

Reg doubt in PO creation

hi,
when i try to create PO using ZRFC (inside i am using Bapi_po_create1),
I am passing some value for adrno for ekko table and Netpr value in ekpo table but after successfully creating PO, i am not getting these values in respective tables in sap.
even i could see adrc details with adrno and if i click on vendor address in me23 for PO, it is showing the address.
could you some suugestions what is the reason?

LKM - Loading
The LKM - Loading Knowledge Modules - load (or extract data) from one data server to another.
They are named as follows:
LKM <source server technology> to <target server technology> (<module specificity>)
JKM - Journalizing
The JKM - Journalizing Knowledge Modules - setup journalizing on a datastore in a data model.
They are named as follows:
JKM <technology to journalize>
Note: Journalizing uses triggers and views. Therefore technologies that do not support these functions generally do not have an associated JKM.
IKM - Integration
The IKM - Integration Knowledge Modules - integrate data in a target data server from a Staging Area. Frequently, the Staging Area and target space are on the same data server. The IKM can manage options such as data insertion (Append), or update (Incremental Update), etc.
They are named as follows:
IKM <Staging Area data server technology> to <target data server technology> <option managed in the module> (<module specificity>)
IKM <Staging Area and target data server technology> <option managed in the module> (<module specificity>)
Note: The option managed by the module frequently indicate the more complex option supported in this knowledge module. For instance, a module Incremental Update (update) should also be able to manage the option append, which is data insertion, and suppression of data in the target..
CKM - Check
The CKM - Check Knowledge Modules - manage the data quality and cleansing, on static data and on data flows.
They are named as follows:
CKM <Checked Technology> (<module specificity>)
RKM - Reverse-engineering
The RKM - Reverse Knowledge Module - reverse-engineer a data model stored in a given technology. As default, the standard reverse allows to reverse all the information and meta-data in most models. It is required for certain technologies (files for instance) to use a personalized reverse and therefore a RKM. They are named specifically.
SKM - Services
SKM (Service Knowledge Modules) are used to generate the code required for creating data services. This code (typically Java) can be automatically compiled and deployed to a web service container.

STO Inventory Valuation

Hi Gurus,
I have doubt in inventory valuation when STO is done :
1. We create STO in ME21N.
2. We do Post goods Issue in VL02n
3. Now in ME22N for this STO system under purchase order history for mvmt type 641 system shows the inventory value posted.
4. When Goods Receipt is done at desitnation location through mvmt type 101 system doesnt show any value against this document
In this case how is the inventory value transferred from one plant to other plant within system. Is there any configuration required for this & what has to be done.

If you process STO bet.plants belong to same company code...then the material will be issued at supplying plant by 641 movement type.... and you have to do GR at receiving plant by useing movement type 101.
Since all the accountings,P&L accounts and all maintained at company code level....all the accounting documents all created at supplying Plant...ie) Stock Acc.of Supplying Plant is Credited....and Stock acc. of Receiving plant id Debited....and if you maintain Std.Price at Receiving Plant & is ther any Price diff.bet. Supplying plant and receiving Plant, then the Price diff will go to Price Diff. acc( TEK is UMB).

Hardware Inventory Not collecting Reg Keys with the Underscore Character

We expanded hardware inventory to collect custom reg keys dynamically (from the child keys). While the new WMI class on the machine is able to see all the custom keys, SCCM is not collecting the ones with the underscore ('-') character in the name. Does
anyone know if this is a limitation in SCCM?

Doubt Reg Generic Delta "Safety Interval" Setting

What does this setting imply?

Here some SAP informations:
Safety Interval Upper Limit of Delta Selection
This field is used by DataSources that determine their delta generically using a repetitively-increasing field in the extract structure. The field contains the discrepancy between the current maximum when the delta or delta init extraction took place and the data that has actually been read. Leaving the value blank increases the risk that the system could not extract records arising during extraction. Example: A time stamp is used to determine the delta. The time stamp that was last read is 12:00:00. The next delta extraction begins at 12:30:00. In this case, the selection interval is 12:00:00 to 12:30:00. At the end of extraction, the pointer is set to 12:30:00. A record - for example, a document- is created at 12:25 but not saved until 12:35. It is not contained in the extracted data but, because of its time stamp, is not extracted the next time either.
For this reason, the safety margin between read and transferred data must always be larger than the maximum length of time that it takes to create a record for this DataSource (with a time stamp delta), or it must display an interval that is sufficiently large (for determining delta using a serial number).
Safety Interval Lower Limit
This field contains the value taken from the highest value of the previous delta extraction to determine the lowest value of the time stamp for the next delta extraction. For example: A time stamp is used to determine a delta. The extracted data is master data: The system only transfers after-images that overwrite the status in the BW. Therefore, a record can be extracted into the BW for such data without any problems.
Taking this into account, the current time stamp can always be used as the upper limit when extracting: The lower limit of the next extraction is not seamlessly joined to the upper limit of the last extraction. Instead, its value is the same as this upper limit minus a safety margin. This safety margin needs to be big enough to contain all values in the extraction which already had a time stamp when the last extraction was carried out but which were not read. Not surprisingly, records can be transferred twice. However, for the reasons above, this is unavoidable.
Extracted Data Delta Type
The system uses the delta type to determine how extracted data is to be interpreted in BW, and into which data targets it can be posted.
A distinction is made between the following:
1. Additive delta
The key figures for extracted data are added up in BW. DataSources with this delta type can supply data to ODS objects and InfoCubes.
2. New status for changed records
Each record to be loaded delivers the new status for the key figures and characteristics. DataSources with this delta type can write to ODS objects or master data tables.

Inventory Management differences between 3.5 and 7 versions doubt

Hi
We plan to upgrade BW system from version 3.5 to version 7 next year.
And we plan to initiate Inventory Management in BW (Cube 0IC_C03).
It is good idea to start Inventory Management before upgrade?
OR the better idea is wait befor upgrade?

look at the current content if that meets the requirement then why to wait till upgrade. During upgarde it is your call whether to move objects to BW7 (content) and data flow. Even if you want to move to BW7 data flow, you could easily migrate.
Why should you wait for those many months if currents objects meet your reporting needs.
Also, I am not sure whether SAP has made any changes to Inventory content so that you could get anything better with new content post upgrade.

i am getting an error while i am trying out this. i am counting stocks in quality inspection also. there i am getting more stocks, so, i have tried to post the (gain)difference using 701 but it is showing an error
" Reason 0701 for movement type 703 not defined "
and then i tried with movement type 703 to post the difference, again it is showing another error like
" Entry 0703 does not exist in T157D (check entry) "
Is there any movement type especially to post gain/loss in quality stock in physical inventory ??
how could i resolve and post this gain in quality stock. kindly help me.

Doubts reg Delta

GM All,
I've seen several posts regarding delta's in the forum but coulnt get a clear picture..my doubt is:
With respect to V3:
1.Once initialization is done does delts gets into delta queue automatically or does we need to run an IP?
2.when we run an IP for delta does the data be fetched from delta queue i.e RSA7 in R/3?
3.Is there any queued delta which comesinto picture before deltaqueue(RSA7) if so what's the use?

When ever you done the initial Load then delta will enable automatically at BW side and also you can check at RSA7. then we can do delta loads

Yes,
in LO Cockpit here delta methods are 3 types
1 Direct delta : delta records directly comes into RSA7.
2 serialized delta : delta records comes into SM13 and than thru V3 Job, records come into RSA7.
3 queued delta : Delta records comes into LBWQ than into RSA7 thru V3 Job
I think u may get an idea about your questions.

Doubt reg Delta : what abt changed things?

Hey Experts,
One basic doubt regarding Delta: plz Help .
I want to do delta on say order number based on timestamp.Also these orders can be changed later. So say order 1000 has been fetched yesterday, but its changed today again..(say its value is changed..) so will my delta fetch this order again?

Yes it will. Delta will bring whatever changed with the order, but you need to make sure that there are no filters in place to say extract only confirmed orders, etc.
