Reg - Search Form for a VO with group by clause

Hi,
I have a Bar graph that displays data based on the Query below.
SELECT STATUS.STATUS_ID AS STATUSID,STATUS.STATUS,COUNT(SR.SERVICEREQUEST_ID) AS SRCOUNT
FROM SERVICE_REQUEST SR ,SERVICEREQUESTSTATUS STATUS
WHERE SR.STATUS_ID = STATUS.STATUS_ID
GROUP BY STATUS.STATUS_ID,STATUS.STATUS,SR.STATUS_ID
It displays the count of SRs against a particular status.
Now I need to add a search form to this graph with customer and date range.
So we need to add the line below to the where clause.
"SR.CUSTOMER_ID = :customerId AND SR.REQUESTED_ON BETWEEN :fromDate and :toDate"
But the columns SR.CUSTOMER_ID, SR.REQUESTED_ON also need to be added to the select clause to create the View criteria for search panel.
The two columns should also need to be added to the group by clause if we are to add them in the select clause.
This would not produce the expected results.
How do I create a search form with the criterias applied only at the where clause. Please help.
With Regards,
Guna

The [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16162_01/apirefs.1112/e17483/oracle/jbo/server/ViewObjectImpl.html]ViewObjectImpl has methods for doing this programmatically (setQuery, defineNamedWhereClauseParam, setNamedWhereClauseParam) that you can use to manipulate the query, the bind variables expected, and the values for the binds.

  • Creating a Search form for Captivate courses

I've been asked to create a search form for our online courses. We do not use the TOC in our courses so the Find field in the TOC is not an option. Here are the ideas I've had so far:
    a Javascript-powered form search
    a search form widget
a Google search embedded into the surrounding HTML page (But I don't think that Google can "see" text inside the Captivate SWF object...)
Right now, we are using Captivate 5.5, but do plan to move to Captivate 6.0 fairly soon. I'm grateful for any ideas.
    Thanks!

You're hitting a bug. See ADF Faces Classical Search Form works only with Entity base VO  in JDev 11? for a workaround suggestion.

  • Is there a way to have a search form for the CRM database?

I know there is a search form provided for the Web Apps. I can't seem to find how to create a search form for the CRM database. I have created a membership site, and also extended the CRM database with additional fields. I would like the users to be able to search on selected fields in the CRM database including the extended database fields. For example, I have a field called membership type in the extended database. I would like to be able to search on that in a search form. Is that possible?
    Thanks

    Sidney,
Your input is very helpful to put me on the track to find a workaround. As I tried using Web App approach, I get into a road block that hopefully you can help throw some light on.
This my scenerio: I created a Web App for holding the profile fields (called it Profile). I created a Page to display the Customer record (Names, usernames, email, etc, and I would also want to display the fields from the Profile Web App. I am at lost how to do that. Seems like I can only insert the web item list in that page but I actually want to display the Detall Layout instead of the List layout. To display the Detail Layout, I need to first manually choose the item before it will direct me to the Detail layout. I am trying to find a way to do this automatically based on the fact I have only one Profile web app item for each customer.
The question is whether there is a way to pull up a specific Profile web app item based on the customer's id or something that link the two together, using javascript or whatever method. Is there a tag to gives me the customer record id? If I can get that id, I could insert that id into one of the fields in the Profile Web App during creation of profile. Perhaps I can then pull up the profile item based on this id.
    Thanks for all the help

  • Aggregate fuction with group by clause

    Hello,
Following is assignment is given but i dont get correct output
so please i am request to all of us write code to solve my problem.
There can be multiple records for one customer in VBAK tables with different combinations.
Considering that we do not need details of each sales order,
use Aggregate functions with GROUP BY clause in SELECT to read the fields.

So if you need not want all the repeated records, then you select all the values to an Internal table,
and declare an internal table of same type and Usee COLLECT
    for ex:
    itab1 type  <xxxx>.
    wa_itba like line of itab1.
itab2 type  <xxxx>. "<-This should be same type of above.
    select * from ..... into table itab1.
    and now...
    loop at itab1 into wa_itab.
    collect wa_itab1 into itab2.
    endloop.
then you will get your desired result..

  • How to create search form in jsf telnet with auto submit?

I am trying to create a simple search form on a jsf telnet page
with jdeveloper 10.1.3 and and j2se version 1.4.2.
The problem I am having is the example search form I have seen
uses an execute command button, which I can't use on the telnet page.
I would like to query the results upon entering the criteria, without the
user pressing a button. This is because the page will used with a barcode
scanner. I am attempting to use a valueChange listener on the input field, but
I am unsure if this is the right approach. Any feedback is appreciated.
    Thanks

In my application whenever I change a value or want to follow a commandLink, my page just refreshes and I end up with the old values. I have not been able to navigate in my application. I am using the arrows or tab to navigate in my page and press enter to submit.
I have set the STATE_SAVING_METHOD to server, but this is not helping.
I have a deadline that is closing in on me, can anyone hint me in the right direction?

  • More than one summary level for a matrix with group

    Hello friends at www.oracle.com ,
I have a report where I need to create a summary level for each row and column. In the Report wizard, it works finely, creating the summary for the 1st matrix group level.
However, if I have some extra matrix group levels - that is, a 2nd or a 3rd level -, it seems that Reports doesn't create its summary levels.
How can I create other summary levels at the matrix, outside the inner matrix?
    Best regards,
    Franklin Goncalves Jr.

    Hello petpandian,
I have a little example that intends to demonstrate what I really need. Hope it is clear enough.
(Below you can see the output I am looking for)
    ..................MONTH/YEAR
    CITY REGION 04/2005.....05/2005
    AA.....BB......$ 10,00.....$ 15,00
    ...............$ 11,00.....$ 16,00
    Totals for BB: $ 21,00.....$ 31,00
    ..................MONTH/YEAR
    CITY REGION 04/2005.....05/2005
    AA.....CC......$ 30,00.....$ 11,00
    ...............$ 40,00.....$ 15,00
    Totals for CC: $ 70,00.....$ 26,00
Totals for AA: $ 91,00.....$ 57,00 <-- Totals separated for each region and month/year.
As you can see, I need a matrix with group(s) around it. 1st group level is the city (AA), and I have its regions BB and CC. After showing BB values, I have BB totals for each month/year. Same applies to CC totals.
However, I expect that these results can be showed for its outside group (in this example, CITY AA), and what I have in return is the sum of all values in a single field:
    Totals for CC: $ 70,00.....$ 26,00
Totals for AA:.....................$148,00 <--- The sum of all totals: it's not separated as above.
I think I should have a matrix inside a matrix, so I would have totals for each region, and totals for each city, separating by its regions and month/year.
The only solution I found was to calculate it manually via PL/SQL and inserting it into a temporary table. However, I think it is not the ideal solution because PL/SQL instructions have to handle the totals, something that Reports should do, and that's why I need help.
Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Franklin Goncalves Jr.

  • Search Form for object

Using Adobe XI Pro, after scanning, can I search PDF for an object and save responsive files? I have thousands of PDF to search for an X in a certain box, along with other fields that may meet the search criteria.

The output of any scanner is an image file - a "picture" of whatever was on the paper.
There is no renderable / searchable text in a picture.
Use Acrobat XI Pro's OCR and save as. Now give Find / Search ago.
Remember that Optical Character Recognition *does not* recognize all bitmapped images of characters.
As well recognition is not flawless. Example:  the picture of "m" is recognized as "n~".
Yes, "characters" are more than a through z or 0 through 9.
Regardless. If scanned then OCR. With that use find / search.

In a process order for a component with batch management if quantity is given in negative and backflush activated, how to carryout batch determination.( I am getting error as batch cannot be determined for - ve quantities)
    Thanks in advance
    madhav

    Hi,
In BOM if the qty is negative, that means its a By Product from the process. That means you are receiving a new batch of the product. here you need to assign (create) a new number for the batch.

  • Search help for custome field with different data type

    Hi Friends,
I have Created a  custom table in which i have created a field is
    ZMATLONG which stores material number.
Now the data element is zdmat which is of char 40..
Now i want to give search help for this field ZMATLONG..
I have tried many ways giving search help to this field
    a) i Tried to attach the standard search help of MATNR ie : MAT1 but its showing me data type inconsistancy
    b) i created a zsearch help and in the selection method i have used database table mara , again here iam getting the same error data type inconsistancy...
Now how can i give the search help like matnr field to my custom field ZMATLONG...
    How can i do it..?
    Thanks in Advance..
    Regards
    Kumar

    Hi,
MATNR ahs length 18 and ZMATLONG has length 40.So due to this u cannot use MAT1 search help.
best way would be cope MAT1 into Z search help. Then in the search help parameter change the data element of field
    MATNR as ZMATLONG.
Now if you assign Z search help to ZMATLONG  it will work.
I tried this its working fine.

  • Custom IKM Knowledge Modules are not working with Group By Clause

    Hi All,
I am facing an issue with custom IKM knowledge modules. Those are IKM Sql Incremental Update and IKM Sql Control Append.
    My Scenario is
    1. Created an interface with table on source and temporary datastore with some columns in target.
    2. In the Interface on the target i defined one column as UD1 and other column as UD2  for which group by to be implemented .
    3. Customized  IKM Sql Incremental Update  with " Group by " by making  modification in my IKM Sql Incremental Update
detail step "Insert flow into I$ table"  i.e., i replaced like this whereever i find this <%=odiRef.getGrpBy()%> API
    Group By
    <%=snpRef.getColList("","[EXPRESSION]","","","UD1")%>,
    <%=snpRef.getColList("","[EXPRESSION]","","","UD2")%>
    Up to UD5.
. Here in the place of [EXPRESSION] i passed column names for UD1 similarly other column name for [EXPRESSION] of UD2.
4.Made all the proper mappings and also selected the KM's needed for that interface like CKM Sql ,IKM Sql Incremental Update.
    5. Executed the Interface with global context.
Error i am getting in this case is :
Caused By: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00979: not a GROUP BY expression

Here the columns in the select clause are there in Group By also.
I did the same scenario using IKM Sql to file append .In that case i am able to do it. But not with the above mentioned KM's. Please let me know if any one know it or tried with this, as it is
    high priority for me.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks,
    keerthi

    Hi Keerthi,
If your are transfering data from Oracle to Oracle (I means source is oracle Db and target is also oracle DB) then use below KM's and group by will come automatically based on the key values you selected on interface target datastore
    1) CKM Oracle
    2) LKM Oracle to Oracle (DBLINK)
    3) IKM Oracle Incremental Update (MERGE)
Hope this will helps to resolve your issue

  • Analytic Functions with GROUP-BY Clause?

I'm just getting acquainted with analytical functions. I like them. I'm having a problem, though. I want to sum up the results, but either I'm running into a limitation or I'm writing the SQL wrong. Any hints for me?
Hypothetical Table SALES consisting of a DAY_ID, PRODUCT_ID, PURCHASER_ID, PURCHASE_PRICE lists all the
Hypothetical Business Question: Product prices can fluctuate over the course of a day. I want to know how much per day I would have made had I sold one each of all my products at their max price for that day. Silly question, I know, but it's the best I could come up with to show the problem.
    INSERT INTO SALES VALUES(1,1,1,1.0);
    INSERT INTO SALES VALUES(1,1,1,2.0);
    INSERT INTO SALES VALUES(1,2,1,3.0);
    INSERT INTO SALES VALUES(1,2,1,4.0);
    INSERT INTO SALES VALUES(2,1,1,5.0);
    INSERT INTO SALES VALUES(2,1,1,6.0);
    INSERT INTO SALES VALUES(2,2,1,7.0);
    INSERT INTO SALES VALUES(2,2,1,8.0);
    COMMIT;
Day 1: Iif I had sold one product 1 at $2 and one product 2 at $4, I would have made 6$.
Day 2: Iif I had sold one product 1 at $6 and one product 2 at $8, I would have made 14$.
    The desired result set is:
    DAY_ID                 MY_MEASURE
    1                        6
1                       14The following SQL gets me tantalizingly close:
    SELECT DAY_ID,
      MAX(PURCHASE_PRICE)
KEEP(DENSE_RANK FIRST ORDER BY PURCHASE_PRICE DESC)
      OVER(PARTITION BY DAY_ID, PRODUCT_ID) AS MY_MEASURE
      FROM SALES
    ORDER BY DAY_ID
    DAY_ID                 MY_MEASURE
    1                      2
    1                      2
    1                      4
    1                      4
    2                      6
    2                      6
    2                      8
2                      8But as you can see, my result set is "longer" than I wanted it to be. I want a single row per DAY_ID. I understand what the analytical functions are doing here, and I acknowledge that I am "not doing it right." I just can't seem to figure out how to make it work.
Trying to do a sum() of max() simply does not work, nor does any semblance of a group-by clause that I can come up with. Unfortunately, as soon as I add the windowing function, I am no longer allowed to use group-by expressions (I think).
I am using a reporting tool, so unfortunately using things like inline views are not an option. I need to be able to define "MY_MEASURE" as something the query tool can apply the SUM() function to in its generated SQL.
(Note: The actual problem is slightly less easy to conceptualize, but solving this conundrum will take me much closer to solving the other.)
I humbly solicit your collective wisdom, oh forum.

Thanks, SY. I went that way originally too. Unfortunately that's no different from what I could get without the RANK function.
    SELECT  DAY_ID,
            PRODUCT_ID,
            MAX(PURCHASE_PRICE) MAX_PRICE
      FROM  SALES
      GROUP BY DAY_ID,
               PRODUCT_ID
      ORDER BY DAY_ID,
               PRODUCT_ID
    DAY_ID                 PRODUCT_ID             MAX_PRICE
    1                      1                      2
    1                      2                      4
    2                      1                      6
    2                      2                      8

  • Strange behavior in inner query with group by clause

    Hi All,
I found a very strange behaviour with Inner query having a group by clause.
    Please look the sample code
    Select b,c,qty from (select a,b,c,sum(d) qty from tab_xyz group by b,c);
This query gives output by summing b,c wise. But when i run the inner query it gives error as "not a group by expression "
My question is - though the inner query is wrong, how is it possible that this query gives output.
    it behaves like -
    Select b,c,qty from (select b,c,sum(d) qty from tab_xyz group by b,c);
Is it a normal behaviour ?
If it is a normal behaviour, then how group by behaves inside a inner query.
    Thanks !!

This case I have tested already and it throws error.
But why the initial posted query is not throwing
error even the inner query is wrong.
In what way oracle behaves for the initial posted
query?what is the scenario that throws the error? is it at the time when you only run the inner query or the whole query?
