Reg System Date & Time by default on login page

Hi,
I need to know if we can display default date and time on Login Page and other Views in WDA..?
This is just beautification issue but if it can be resolved, it would enhance my credential.
Thanks.
Kumar Saurav.

Hi Kumar,
You can declare a Node in Comp controller and set this Node by Sydatum & syuzeit. Now you can fetch this node in any view or you can declare a Global attribute of type ELEMENT_<Context Node Name> and get this aatribute in any view using WD_COMP_CONTROLLER-><Attribute Name>.
Also can you explain your requirement for Date & time field on Login Page?
Hope it helps you.

    In JDeveloper Help, we cannot find a way to set a Date attribute's default value to today's (system) date. Any suggestions?

  • Is there any danger in setting the system date/time to a prior date?

    We are dealing with some software digital certificate expiration issues.  Until the developer gets them fixed, the only way we can use the software is to set the date/time preferences to a date before the certificate expired.  Some users are concerned that this will spell catastrophe for their systems because Unix/Linux based things don't like haivng their dates messed with.  I maintain that the only things that would be affected are the date/time stamp on files they save while the settings are changed, possibly any iCal events created during the change (which can be overwritten by the user), and that if they use Time Machine the backups might not be dated correctly (and for that reason I've suggested they shut Time Machine off while their date is changed).  I just don't believe it will lead to massive system failure.  Who is correct?

    Yes you will have issus with DHCP leases/Internet and your router if your time and date isn't current.
    Offline you can do what you want. Better to get a temporary workaround from the developer to hold you over.

  • Can I create objects in Muse, assign them with a date/time and arrange on the page accordingly?

    Hi,
    Looking to get my site to a point where I can add content/posts to my pages daily but have the newest posts/content/objects at the top of the page.
    At the moment I have to rearrange the content everytime.
    It would make sense If I could group my objects, assign them a date/time and arrange them on the page accordingly. Once the page gets full it could then overflow to another page based on the master and so on. Without having to manually create the page and rearrange the contents. But I don't know if this is possible or completely stupid!!
    Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

  • After system date/time reset macbook pro can't open any programs and access system preferences

    Hi,
    Booted my macbook pro 2009 and the time was reset to 2001, a prompt asked me to change settings or else the computer might function erratically. So i changed the date and time settings as suggested but then suddenly it stopped working. I restarted the computer but i could no longer open any programs. My dock was gone, the screen background was changed back to the original and i couldn't access the system preferences. Every time i click on the apple icon the screen just refereshes and that's it.
    My laptop hasn't been turned off for the last 48 hrs before this happened.  i was working and uploading huge files to dropbox and since my internet connection was really slow, i had to keep it on so it would upload continously. Was thinking this might have caused some malfunction.
    Has anyone experienced this kind of issue?

    You need to charge the computer, perhaps the battery went dead.
    Do a SMC and PRAM reset, see if that assists.
    Also hold the shift key after that upon boot, that will fix things
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3046
    If you get into your account, see if system preferences opens and try to set the time and date, align with Apple's servers, reset the screen saver and desktop picture see if it holds upon a reboot
    If not your going to have to delete your
    com.systempreferences.plist
    file in your
    "User"/Library/Preference folder
    Reboot the machine and then open System Preferences and reset your preferences.
    Now in 10.6, the "User"/Library/Preference folder is not hidden
    In 10.7 the "Users"/Library/Preferences folder IS hidden
    so in 10.7 you need to use the Finder > Go To Folder and type
    /Library/Preferences
    and click OK
    Then scoll down to the  file above, there will be two of them perhaps, one is a lock file the other one you can Trash, so do that and reboot.

  • MSI FM2-A85XA-G65 system date & time issue

    Hello everyone!
    I have a MSI FM2-A85XA-G65 motherboard with an AMD 5800K processor. The date and time won't save in the bios. Sometimes it will sometimes it won't. The system will save for a few reboots, Then when I again enter the bios a different date and time will appear.
    I have reset the cmos and have removed the battery with the same results. Other than that the board appears fine. Any help or ideas?

    It appears to be a Linux UTC UEFI coordinated thing. So I think all is well. The correct time is on the desktop after all and all other settings remain.

  • Stocks app date / time default

    the stocks app seems to show the dates using the us time zone. How can we tell the app to actually look at the date / time setting default as set in the Settings -> General ?
    E.g. Its 1feb here now , and the exchange is trading, however the Stocks app is showing that it is still 31 Jan..... Strange lazy coding ???

    how can we set the Stokes app to use the timezone settings as in the general settings? Do not live in the US so. Would like to get updates in our timezone and not in the US timezone. Or is this another bug in the device?

  • Schedule a report with the system date imbeded in the file name

    Hello,
    Could anyone tell me how I can schedule a crystal report with the system date imbedded in the file name (FileNameYYYYMMDD) through BOE?  When I scheduled the report through BOE, I gave a file name and selected Attach Date Time, but the file name is coming out slightly differently and with the time imbedded as well (FileNameYYYY-MM-DD-HH-MN I think). Is there a way to change the default system date time format in BOE so that the date stamp comes out the way we want it?
    Thanks!

    %SI_STARTTIME% will add the time the report ran too.
    Adding onlt the date will necessarily have to be done via the appropriate SDK.

  • Date/Time erros when working with Database Connectivity toolkit

    Hi!,
    We are observing errors with date/time when working with LV. The error occurs when the system datetime format is set such that day precedes month (e.g. dd/mm/yyyy). Our VI uses LV 7.1, Database Connectivity 1.0 and SQL Server 2000 on a Win2000 machine.
    Problem details
    Our database in SQL server has a table having columns with data type "datetime"
    If the system date format (as set in control panel) is "mm/dd/yyyy", the 'insert into database' vi works fine. This function inserts the date and time (among other things) into the above mentioned table.
    However, when the system datetime is set to dd/mm/yyyy we start receiving error that date and time is beyond range for dates in which the date had the day field greater than 12 (e.g. 23/10/2005). With the same settings, if the date is such that day field is equal or less than 12 (e.g. 03/10/2005), we do not receive an error but the date is interpreted as 10 March 2005 rather than 03 September 2005.
    Clearly LV (or is it SQL) is mistaking the day field as month.
    We have taken care that when sending and receiving date, the format date and time string is set as per system settings.
    Thus, if system setting is "dd/mm/yyyy" our format string is "%d/%m/%Y"
    And if the setting is "mm/dd/yyyy" our format string is"%m/%d/%Y"
    Any help on problem cause and cure is welcome.
    Thanks,
    Gurdas

    Hi Xu,
    You answer led me to some very interesting fact finding on how SQL server handles date and time. I have attached a zip file which contains webpages that throw more light on this issue.
    The attached pages tell me that SQL has an inbuilt date/time reference format. The default in mm/dd/yyyy. Which explains why my VI worked when I used that format to write to SQL.
    However there is a catch:
    SQL expects the date/time to be in its inbuilt reference format when you WRITE data to SQL. If the date/time is in a different format, better tell SQL about it by using say the SET command you mentioned.
    BUT what about the date/time format when you are reading data from SQL?
    Our finding is that SQL sends date/time string in the system date format when you READ from SQL !!! That is very surprising behaviour (why differentiate between write and read?).
    Is our finding correct?
    So, we adopted the following simple strategy (yet to be fully tested):
    1) Whenever we write date/time to SQL, the string is formatted as mm/dd/yyyy. Presently, the user's SQL server is in the default state. Caveat is that if the user changes SQL date/time from default (which is mm/dd/yyyy) to anything else, our software will give errors. But then he changed it  ;-)
    2) When we read date/time from SQL we format the string as per system date/time format.
    I know this is not very robust coding. But assuming the user keeps his SQL in the current setting, should we expect smooth working?
    In other words, are there any errors and/or flaws in our strategy?
    Thanks,
    Gurdas

    Hi ,
    the changed sytem date in a HVM DomN does not stay persistent after restarting virtual machine.
    same problem is also exist in PVM DomN in a different mannger which I had already opened a different thred for it.
    1. Create a HVM DomN
    2. login into HVM DomN
    3. set wallclock
    xen.independent_wallclock = 1
    4. restart HVM DomN
    5. login into HVM DomN

    7. check if ntpd disabled

    8. restart DomN as root
    *[root@bcvlnx12 ~]# shutdown -r -t 0 now*

    so , system date which has been ser by root user in step 6 is lost and become same as with Dom0
    Any idea ? any fix ?
    Rgds.
    Leo Frühling.

    Hi, for paravirtualized guests do like this:
    As user root
    vi /etc/sysctl.confsearch "independent_wallclock" and set it "=0" (NOT "=1")
    Save and exit
    Set the correct Time Zone creating an appropriate symbolic link, for example:
    ln -sf ../usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Rome /etc/localtimeThen:
    vi /etc/sysconfig/clockSet it as you like, but following this schema:
    ZONE="Europe/Rome"
    UTC=false
    ARC=false("ZONE" refers to the Time Zone, "UTC=false" indicates that LOCAL TIME will be used)
    Finally, deactivate the ntpd service on your VM guest, as with the above settings system time will be bound to the Hardware Clock on Dom0, therefore we don't need ntpd:
    chkconfig --del ntpd
    service ntpd stopTry a reboot and check all is ok.
    All this, I repeat, is true for Paravirtualized guests only. Fully Virtualized guests do need ntpd service for system tyme sync.

  • How to get Client(browser) current date/time in BIP report

    Hi,
    I need to display report generated date in BIP report and this should be client(browser) current date/time. I tried the following things.
    1. have used MS Word Native Date/time using Insert->Date/Time. And we have chosen the M/d/yyyy h:mm:ss am/pm format. but it is printing BIp server date/time, not client date/time.
    2. <?xdofx:sysdate?>, <?xdoxslt:sysdate_as_xsdformat()?> and <?format-date:xdoxslt:sysdate_as_xsdformat();'SHORT_TIME'?> are giving GMT Date/Time, but we need client Date/Time.
    3.<?xdoxslt:sysdate('DD-MON-YYYY HH12:mi:ss')?> is giving the system date/time of the machine where BIP server is installed.
    Could you provide some help in this??
    Thanks
    Hari

    Hello, Hari,
    what would return something like this:
    Execution date:
    <?xdoxslt:current_date('ja-JP', 'Asia/Tokyo')?>
    <?xdoxslt:current_time('ja-JP', 'Asia/Tokyo')?>
    @Vetsrini,
    for my opinion,
    in the countries where time is switching (winter/summer) using the hard coded time zones in the format-date() cause a problem:
    for example:
    if we enter the date in date prompt in summer it will return PM_DT = 2010-07-20T00:00:00.000+04:00
    in winter 2010-07-20T00:00:00.000+03:00, so,
    using <?format-date:PM_DT;'DD.MM.YYYY';'GMT+3'?> return 2010-07-20 in winter and 2010-07-19 in summer.

    Eldar A.
