Reg: Variable value not updating

Hi experts,
I am new to bi -publisher and i am in Learning Stage.
My problem:-
Steps Followed
1. I am declaring a variable globally using below syntax:-
*<?variable:LLP;number(15)?>*
2.Then in my Rtf i am calling for loop for lines
3. In For Loop, i am adding values and assigning to variable "A"
(ie.) A= LPP+C
B,C are variable and holding value 15+3, so my Variable "A" will hold 18
4. Before End loop i am assigning that A value to variable "LPP" by using syntax.
*<?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX, 'LPP', xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'A'))?>*
so, now my lpp value should hold =18;
5. Assume that i am having 2 lines, So for loop goes and as per step 3, it should return the A value
ie.) A=lpp+c --> 18+3 ,so my Variable "A" should hold 21.
But its not happening.. Its still giving output A as 18 only.
Am i making any mistake, plz help me .... May be i question will be very silly, but i am struggling a lot for long time. So Gurus, Plz help me. How to update the new value to already assigned variable with syntax.

As per ur guidance i used to update the value of lpp using below syntax:-

Note :-
LPP in get variable will hold the default value 15
C in get variable will hold the length the particular xml element eg (length =20)

Contract value not updated in open order value of credit management

My requirement is i have created the contract and activated the credit management by assigning credit group to contract document type, In item category the credit is active and in pricing subtotal is also assigned .
But when i create the contract , the open order value is not updated .
i do not want the credit to be active at order level.

Statistic condition values not updated during Sales order Settlement

Hi,
In our client we have different Price condition types for based on scenario wise. Ex: Domestic Sales (ZPR1) and Export Sales ZPR2. I have maintained separately value fields for each price condition types.
We are booking some financial charges, and interest on working capital etc., this cost we need to transfer to COPA each Material wise based on sales revenue.
For this purpose we have created one COPA Assessment Cycle. Tracing factor is Sales Revenue and receiver is Materials.
In COPA Assessment cycle we can give only one base means ZPR1 related value field or ZPR2 related value field.
For this reason we have created one new statistic condition type, what is amount there in ZPR1 that amount will updated automatically in statistic condition place and so that we can give once one trance factor in COPA Assessment Cycle. We have assign this statistic condition all pricing procedure
Now my problem is in MTS scenario statistic condition values updated correctly. But in MTO scenario sales order settlement time statistic condition values not updated.
So is it possible update during sales order settlement time statistic condition values.
Please give me suggestion.

As you said is correct.
But in our client we have around 9 Plants and each plant manufacturing product are different. Client Requirement is in COPA Report they need see each product wise sales revenue. In this way we mapped product wise value field. System already mapped one guy in this way earlier. Now I am doing some changes for relevant to month end activities.
Some financial changes transfer to COPA each plant wise on Material. Here sender is cost center and receiver is Material. Base is Sales Revenue.
Please suggest me is there any alternative.

Shared Variable does not update when typedef is changed

I have a shared variable of type custom control (typedef made up of a cluster). When I chang the typedef, e.g. the name or type of one of the fields in the cluster, and then save it, the shared variable does not update to reflect this change. That is, if I place the shared variable on my block diagram and do a "UNBUNDLE BY NAME" on the output, I see the old fields. I have to go back to the properties of the shared variable, change its data type, apply it, then go back and change it back to my custom control.
Anyone else seen this behaviour? Anyone know how to get the shared variable to update without going through this procedure?

after a while my server hangs or gets shutdown ,a

"java.exe has generated error and will be shutdown"
i know that more connections can be a prob. but i
make sure that connections r closed on each page,also
i am a newbie and do not have the time at present to
learn abt. connection pool ,can this problem be
solved easily?

and try again. That's the reason tomcat getting down. System.exit(1) should not be used inside jsp. it will make the underlaying Servlet Engine to shutdown.

Presentation Variable Value not passing when used in Column Formula.

Hello Gurus:
Please help me with my requirement.
We are trying to show a data backout in report, for example.
For a Product Group Code of 2435 which belongs to Report Line C059 has a Sales Amount of $4,266.90 and in report we want the same Sales Amount of $4,266.90 to be shown as -$4,266.90 (Negative) under a Report Line C080.
So in a report there should be same Sales Dollars as Positive for C059 (from Source) and Negative Sales Amount for C080 (Condition to be applied in Report).
Solution I Tried
I tried to create a Presentation Variable (SQL- Which would fetch me Sales Dollars for Product Group Code 2453) which returns with $4266.90 and then applied it in Answers in Logic (Case when Report Line = C080 then @{Presentation Variable}*-1 Else Sales Dollars END).
Issue I am facing:
Presentation Variable is coming as 0 and if i give any Format (Default Value) it shows the same default value in report. I checked the SQL i used and even when I Preview the Variable its showing me $4,266.90, but not in report.
Please let me know a way to get this Presentation Variable value into my reports.
Also please let me know if i can achieve this requirement in any other way.

Thanks for your reply Paul. But there is no Invoiced Amount for Report Line - 'C080' from source. Invoiced amount of C059 should show as -ve Invoiced amount for CO80.
In a report C059 should show +ve Sales Dollars and C080 should show same amount as -Ve Sales Dollars.

Letter of Guarantee Value not Updating with Payments

Dear Expert
The requirement from the user is that when a payment is made , the system should deduct the amount paid and refresh the new available value for the customer.
For Example : A Financial document is created with 1000 value . And Sales order created for 8000 . Therefore now the open value is 2000. This means that the customer can order goods worth 2000 only.
In the meanwhile the first order is delivered and billed . And the customer has paid 8000 when he received the bill. this means that now he has paid so he can now order more goods worth 8000.
but in the system it still shows open value as 2000 , although now that the customer has paid, it should be updated with the payments made so the value can be used by the customer that he had paid.
If any of you has any idea how to tackle this ( it works same way in credit management ) but not in financial documents.
we were thinking of another work around , i.e by closing the Financial document that has been paid and creating a new one by adding the remaining balance. i.e 2000+ 8000 , this way the customer can again use his value. but then how can we automate the system to alert the sales user that the payment has been made for a certain invoice for a certain LG.

The functionality in GTS is designed for modelling of a single financial document for which the initial value is not updated.
I understand your user's requirement, but surely that is dealt with simply by setting a credit limit in the SAP ERP system? There should be no need to use the GTS functionality at all. In the ERP system, the credit limit is updated by the account payments, exactly as your user requires.

BI 7 list of variable values not shown in chagne variable values option.

In BI7 queries i face a problem like the first time you execute a query it asks for selection options ,then the next time if we want to change the variables we have a option "change variable values" in the menu bar to change it,but unlike BW 3.5 it is not showing the entire list of values it shows only the history or the present values we choose,this restricts from selecting any desired values from the list.
Is there any way to resolve this problem,your suggestions will be really helpful.

After you click on the box in the variable selection screen you will get another window "Select Values for XXXX". In the first box you will have a drop down box which will show "History", Favorites", "Single Values" & "Value rabges". Then in the bottom right there is a button "More" when you click on it it will open to show the selections already made.

We have found that excise base value is not updated after creating excise invoices,later we corrected it,
excise base value started updating in table J_1IEXCDTL,
Intially for 2 months excise base value is not updated in table,
Is there any problem will arise in future ?

Automatic Product Selection item value not updated in S067

Hello,
We have a requirement for Automatic product selection based on ATP with pricing at item level. This is working fine.
But the value of the subitem is not updated in open delivery value S067 after saving the delivery.
The item category is marked as credit active. update group is 15.
If i do main item pricing then the value is getting updated successfully.
I check several notes but nothing helped.

Invoice correction request (net value not updating)

Hi guys,
I have a problem when creating an Invoice correction request (RK).
When I change the Target quantity in the item (L2N), the Net value is not updated. So I have to go to Conditions and Carry out new pricing.
Any idea to fix this.

Check the copy control VTFA , what is the pricing type it is being used and what is the quantity field maintained -ve or +ve or kept blank .
Even Go to item data->conditions tab and click on analysis you will know the problem why it is not changing the gross price

Invoice value not updating for limit PO

SRM 5, SP 10 ECC 6.
Limit PO is created, invoice posted in ECC, the invoice vaue is not updating in the Statistics tab at item level of PO,Calculated Value is showing 0.00 only

The problem is coming for limit order only, not for normal order and bbp_get_status is running fine for confirmation and normal po, so no need to run again

Container Variable value not reflected in Alert message

Hi All,
In BPM, i am trying to set an Alert message which will send the message in alert Inbox. Here i have stored a value from the message in a container variable. This Container variable value is used in the Alert message in the form of &variable&. But whenever i specify container variable value, it is not reflected in the Long text of Alert Inbox. In Alert category i have also checked the Dynamic text. Still it is not coming.
Can u suggest what is the possible solution for this.

I was able to get the Alert Message by changing container variable from "Block " to "Process". But It was containing the value of the first message.
Actually i am having a scenario in which i am transforming a File message input into multiple messages based on its PO number using multi mapping. These messages are send as IDOCs using Parrallel for Each block, where i store the PO number in the container variable and use it in alert message. So for that i have to use this block name as container and not as a Process.
Can anybody tell me why this Container Variable value is not reflected in the alert message.
