1. How to add 6 months to the current date in Webi report..
2. My report is having last one year data, I want to display only one month report from the Sys date..

Relative months are poor in Webi. You're better creating something at the universe level. I've created a topic on the BOB forum that discusses relative dates in both SQL Server and Oracle:

You need to be clear with your reporting requirement for a month since sysdate.
An example of what is done at the database level:
select DATEADD(mm,6,'2010-08-30')
returns '2011-02-28'
select DATEADD(dd,180,'2010-08-30')
returns '2011-02-26'
So while pumpactionshotgun has given you an approximation, there is currently no way for Webi to match a database's accuracy in relative months without massive high maintenance nested if statements.

Which version of BOBJ did you install? Which version of SAP BW are you accessing (please state the installed supported packages also).
How many rows do you get when you run the single column report?

Is the front end freshly installed, some times all the services are not available as such you will have some icons in disable mode.

Reg: How to change Multiple Queries in WebI Report

Hi all,
I am woking in Xcelsius Dashboard. I used WebI approach for creating dashboard. I have two customers which one customer has SAP and another customer does not have SAP. so intially I have used Excell as data source. now I want to replace the Excel with BI Queries.Both having same structure.while replacing I faced the following problem.
I created one WebI report based on Excel as data source that has two Queries(Two universes).I want to replace excel based universe with BI query based universe.If I change the universe in an one query ,the univese is changed in an another query also. How can I replace two different universes that based on BI queries with existing universes ?
How can i resolve the problem?

As Thomas mentioned, changing one Data Provider causes the other Data Provider to get changed as well -- this is a problem for trying to change the universe on one tab and the system automatically goes and goofs up the other tab(s) as well. I'm still on XI R2 and the problem happens so maybe someone with XI 3.1 or higher loaded can confirm that this unwanted occurrence has been cleared up or not.

WebI report based on Universe upon SAP BEx Queries:Prompt issue

I am creating Web Intelligence report using Universe based on SAP Bex Queries. In WebI report I created a filter condition as I need to run report based on two specidc dates. I need to schedule report to run 2nd of every month to show data for last month. At present I have the following filter : date between 'Start Date' and 'End Date'. 'Start Date' should always be 'first date of previous month' and End Date be always must be 'Last date of previous Month'. How to do this. The solution I thought would be to create variables at report/universe level ('first date of previous month' and 'Last date of previous Month') and use in the filter using 'Object from this Query' option.But this 'Object from this Query' option is missing in the prompt.Is there any work around to achieve this.? Could you please help me.

I have a related question too.
I have 2 queries and need a Combined BEx query written on this for reporting. (WebI)
In the 2 queries, there is a Field which needs to be restricted.
But this field should not be restricted in the Combined BEx query.
So I thought of restricting the Field at the report level. But in this case, the user gets a prompt to enter a value for the field.
And this is not desirable as per the requirement.
COuld you please tell me if there is another way of handling this without the user being prompted to enter a value while the report is being run, but still I need selection at the Field level.

How to combine the same variables from 2 queries in one webi report

HI ALL,
I created two BW queries/universe and put them into one web intelligence report. Both queries have the same mandatory variable. I combined the relevant dimensions but can't find how to combine the two variables, which resulted in pop-up for 2 variables.

Just to close it,
Instead of working on existing reports.
Create new report(s) on top of these changed Universes(2).
1. New WebI report on top of Univ1 (With Prompt)
2. New WebI report on top of Univ2 (Without Prompt)
If both are working as expected. Do follow below:
1. Open any Report (just created in above steps)
2. Edit Query
3. Add Query
4. Select another Universe
5. Drag few objects
6. Run Queries
Now see it is working as expected or not.??

Execute queries parallel in web report?

Hello BW experts,
One web reports contains 3 dataproviders with 3 sepereate queries. when i look in sm50 it seems like the queries are executed serially. It takes the time of Query1 + Query2 + Query3. Is there a way to execute the 3 queries in web report parallely.

Parallel processing - could mean different things depending on the context!
Use of "parallel" in this case means you want them to run currently.
The only way I know of that you can get this to happen would be if you created a multiprovider that contained the 3 infoproviders. This assumes that the 3 queries are such that, you could get the same results from a single query aginst the multi-provider, which may or may not be the case. Don't know of any other way, as the OLAP processor wants to treat each query as 3 separate work process, which you only happen ot be combining on the front end. Guess this is a long winded way to say no.
Parallel could also mean you want to take advantage of the database's parallel processing ability to split a query up into mutliple subprocesses running on differnt CPUs, which might sound similar, but is really something very different.

Combining 2 BEx queries into 1 for 2 WebI reports for different 0CALYEAR

Hi all,
I have the following requirement in BEx Query designer:
I have two queries with 0CALYEAR infoobject in each.
One query shows me the data of last 5 years and the other does not have any such condition, it shows me full data.
I need to build a combined query based on these 2 queries.
This combined query shall be used for 2 WebI reports:
- 1 report showing the user, data for last 5 years
- 2nd report showing full data
Is it possible to handle this, without giving any date selection prompt for the user on the WebI report.
If so, please let me know how.

You have many options available. You can use structures and/or cells in your single query to present one set of data for "5 years" and one set of data for "Forever". You can simply create the query using selection columns to limit one column to 5 years and one data to 'full data'.
However... I always strongly advise my users to never, ever, ever create a query for 'everything'. You have no idea what the future will hold in terms of data volume. Creating an unlimited query will only produce performance issues and sadness. Users NEVER actually need 'all the data'. They just think they do. It's part of your job to keep them from creating requirements that they will regret later on.

Export Data of a Web Report having 2-3 Queries(tables) Onto 1 Excel Sheet

I have a Report designed in Web Application Designer. It has 2 or more Table Web Items in it to which different queries are bound.
Although the data of these queries is shown as one Report but to the user it is very annoying when he has to export the Data separately for each block and then copy-paste in order to have a single Exported File (as till then the user thinks it is just one Report).
The question is : Is there a way in which one can Export entire Data of a Web Report having 2 Queries(tables) Onto 1 Excel Sheet once, so that 2-3 exports or more from context Menu, and then copy-paste from excel, can be avoided?

got this installed (the pre requisites) through SAP admin.
& now the code in html pane is as below :
First I am trying with Button option with only one dataprovider. Later will do changes for context menu option & more dataproviders.
But when i click on "Web printing with excel" , progress bar finishes & nothing happens.
Should't the result set be exported to Excel
Am i missing on some part.

Reg: Error while refreshing the WebI Report

Hi all,
I created WebI report based on universe that is connected to Excel data. Through DSN I m accesing Excel Data . I created same DSN in server also. If I refresh the webI Report in BO server it tells the following error.
A database error occured. The database error text is: [Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver] System resource exceeded.. (WIS 10901)
Before that its working fine. what may be the problem?

Thank you for you reply! So there is no way to access a Crystal Reports Server from an arbitrary application using URLs out of the box? I would have to implement this "automated access" feature inside the server by myself. Is this correct?
If this is the case, I think I will do the whole report generation without a dedicated Crystal Reports Server. I have compared different alternatives for replacing the old RDC component of the C++ application described above. I think the best way would be to replace it via the JRC API of CR4E 2.0. In this case, I would have to access the Java API via JNI or by calling an external Java program, which generates and exports the reports.
In both cases (CR Server vs. JRC API) I would have to implement new application logic. But a dedicated Crystal Reports Server needs to be maintained and administered... And I think the Crystal Reports Server would be a bit oversized for my purposes (generating and exporting reports)...
If somebody has got other suggestions for replacing the RDC component (CR XI R2) inside a C++ application in order to use this application under Linux, I would be thankful .

Error while executing webi report

Hello Experts,
I created a universe using SAP BI query. Now I am using this query to create webi report. so while creating webi report i select 1 characteristics and 1 key figure from the universe and putting them on result objects pane.
After putting these object when I execute the report i get following error:
Database error: SOFA Driver : Catastrophic failure. Contact your Business Objects administrator or database supplier for more information. (Error: WIS 10901)
Can anyone suggest me how to resolve this error?

yes, underlying queries work perfectly fine. Universe are created without any issue. However,in WebI, when I drag the any TWO objects under any class or even combination of one object and one measurement key, as soon as I refresh query, the error pops up. If there is JUST ONE object, no issue at all. I can see the data.
Mean...if there is more than one object in any WebI report, the error is thrown by WebI report. And this happens only while running WebI against SAP BW/BI, query or against any InfoCube.
