Regarding description of attachment in workflow.

Hi,
New Year greetings to all.
I have a question regarding attachments is workflow.
In the decision screen the description of the attachment is the subject which is provided by the user creating the attachment.
Is it possible that the description reflects the name of the user who created it?
Actually according to the requirement we should be able to differentiate between the attachments based on the creator
of the attachment.
Regards
Shraddha

Hi,
It looks an interesting requirement, I suggest the following solution for this
1. All workflow attachments infact gets stored as SOFM Objects and the The title of attachment link that you get in workitem comes from Default Attribute of SOFM Object i.e SOFM.Description ( You can check this by going to SWO1 give SOFM as BO and Go To -> Basic Data -> Defaults Tab and check for Attribute)
2. So, if we can change the default attribute to something else which will have User Name as the value, User Name will appear as the title of the attachment in workitem and that should solve your problem.
You can do this by following
  a. Create a New ZSOFM Object delegate it to SOFM
  b. Create a New Virtual Attribute on ZSOFM ( say NewTitle) and in the logic of this attribute, assign SOFM.OWNER->Name to this new variable 'NewTitle'. ( good idea can be to have original description of SOFM + Owner Name as the New Title)
  c. Set the ZSOFM defalut attribute as 'NewTitle'
By doing this, whenever SOFM is refered, in runtime ZSOFM will be called ( this is because of delegation) and as we set 'NewTitle' as default attribute this value will appear as the title of the attachment in your workitem.
Hope this helps you !!

  • How to Send mail woth pdf attachment through workflow

    Hi SDNer's,
I have a problem with pdf attachment through workflow. Please anybody help me to get solve my issue.

    Hi Suresh,
I just tried this thing in my systtem and it is working... BADI is trigerred everytime there is a change in the PO... even when you release there is a change in the PO so this BADI will be triggerred....
I suggest you should implement BADI in your dev system and place a break point in the POST method...
After that create a PO and release it using ME29N... thereafter when you save the PO... this method will trigger and you will have access to PO details...
PS: Remember this BADI wont work for transaction ME29...

  • Re-attaching old workflow to document library

    Hello,
I've recently switched my sharepoint site to a new work environment (different DNS), but my custom workflows that were associated to my document libraries are no longer "attached" anymore. They still exist in the site itself, but they can not be
associated to any list or library. Unfortunately, they are not reusable workflows due to having specific content that related to each library and their columns, so that option is out the window. Is there a way to reattach them to a library/list if the workflow
is already created? Any help would be great.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to re-attaching old workflow to document library.
To migrate list while keeping workflow associations, you can save a site as a template and "include content”.
Here is a similar thread for your reference:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/e8f6aef7-008e-4cf1-811b-11358922cbe4/migrate-list-while-keeping-workflow-historyassociations?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious
In addition, you can migrate workflows between test SharePoint 2010 farms and production farms, in particular with workflows attached to lists.

  • Attachment with workflow

    Hello all,
My requirement is that i have created a workitem to apply for leave. Once the workitem is in the manager's inbox. IF he rejects a leave, he should send an attachment stating the reason for rejecting.I have tried to attach the attachment using the 'attachment icon' in business workplace but still the attachment is not appearing in the inbox.
I have heard that some type of binding is required. Could anyone please tell me what that binding is and between which components it has to be done.
    Regards,
    Bhumika

    Hello,
For attachements, if you have used SELFITEM-NOTE_CREATE. GUI upgrades may not allow attachments to appear. so, try applying OSS Notes 1115440, 1092152 accordingly and it must work.
Let me know for any more clarifications.
    Thanks,
    Sudhir.

    Hi,
I would like to know the steps to attach the workflow process to portlet pages.
    -- Babu

What do you mean by "attach the workflow process to portlet pages"
if you mean to have approval withing pages this can be done using teh approvals and notifications functionality built in within portal and if you mean attaching external workflows from oracle portal or BPEl, that can also be done.

    Hi-
You need to convert the smartform's OTF data to PDF and then create a SOFM instance. Now bind this SOFM instance to workflow container 'ATTACH_OBJECTS' in your email step and your smartform will be showed as a PDF attachment

  • Attachment and workflow overview - GOS

    Hello All,
I have a  new custom BO. No delegation to another  object.
And new applications using  this BO.
I want to include the  "Generic Object Services" -> Workflow  Overview & attachment
and display this on  the transaction just like VA0x to display the  WF.
    I need a  starting point!
I have document Generic Object  Services  (BC-SRV-GBT).
Not sure how to add this functionality.
    Please help asap.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sangeeta

    Hello Sangeeta,
I am too facing the same kind of issue.
I developed a workflow and linked the BO ZBUS2081. This is sub type of standard BO BUS2081. I am using the custom event INVOICEBLOCKED to trigger the workflow. The workflow is triggered propely when the invoce is created (with block) thru MIRO and I can see the workflow in SWEL or SWI6 or SWI14.
But, the workflow is not listed in the services for objects button of the invoice display using MIR4.
If I use the standard event 'BLOCKEDQUANT' as starting event, the workflow is triggered and I can view it in services for object.
In the table SWW_WI2OBJ has all entries about the workflow triggered using standard event or custom event.
How can I make the services for object in invoice list my workflow that was triggered using custom evet?
I tried this solution but, still not working.
Can you please tell me what needs to be done to make this working?
    Regards

  • Business object attachment to workflow

    Hi all,
I have a workflow for BO BKPF (accounting document - journal entry).  The book "Practical Workflow for SAP" implies I can attach a reference to an SAP Business Object (page 91).
For example, in my workflow for accounting document 1000459516, I'd like to attach accounting document 1000459475 (since there are business reasons why the two documents are related).  When I click on the "Create Attachment" button, I presume I need to attach an object of class OBJ, but then I'm not sure what to do next to find 1000459475.
Any direction you can give will be greatly appreciated.
    Ron K.

    Hello,
I believe you can create a method in your custom business object (ZBKPF, delegated to standard one) & include your custom code in there to create a new instance with another document number using following procedure:
    1. Create a variable for the object reference. Use the following command to do this:
    DATA <Object> TYPE SWC_OBJECT.
    2. Create the object reference. Use the following command to do this:
    SWC_CREATE_OBJECT <Object> <ObjectType> <ObjectKey>.
    3. Write the object reference into the container using the following macro instruction:
    SWC_SET_ELEMENT <Container> <ContainerElement> <Object>.
Then this will allow you to have an instance of another document in workflow container & then you can use it as an attachment in any of the steps of workflow you want.
    I hope it helps.

    Hi Experts,
I have created a custom component( Z component )  in UI and I want to send this as an attachment in worktask in workflow.
For this I created a custom business object( Z object ) and by default 'Display' method is created in it.
When I send my custom component( Z component ) as attachment I want to see my Z component, which is not happening. Although in GUI this works well. But in UI I want to see my component.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Hi,
To send it as attachment, bind the standard Business Object FIPP to the custom container of your activity in workflow. This will automatically give you the attachment as Display is the default method set for this BO.
Try this. And let me know if you need any further inputs.
