• Formula auditing tools in Numbers ´09?

Are there any formula auditing tools/functions in Numbers ´09?
In MS Excel, this features are of great help!

Only the automatic syntax checking and error messages on execution, so far as I know. Perhaps a fuller description of what you expect from these tools/functions would assist responders in finding suggestions on how to accomplish similar results.

• Question regarding the pen tool (w/ picture inside)

Hello everyone! I have a question regarding the pen tool. I think this picture is very helpful for my question:
So in this pic is an orange rectangle and within that rectangle is a blue stripe. I would like the blue stripe to be perfectly flush (not over, and not under) the edge of the rectangle. For example, on the bottom end of the blue stripe, you can clearly see that the stripe does not extend far enough to the edge of the orange rectangle. At the top of the stripe, it goes a little bit over (a bit hard to see). I work with some complex shapes when using the pen tool and it is really slowing me down to compensate for over/under shapes. If it could just snap to the borders of other shapes it would make my life a lot easier. Thanks for reading and please help!

A couple of thoughts come to mind:
1. You could create the shape "face on", using guides, and the points will snap to guides with snap enabled. Then you could transform the whole thing together by selecting all the shape layers.
2. Holding down the shift key while dragging a point seems to cause it to snap to some things under some conditions. However, on having just tried to recreate what you're showing I didn't see the proper snap happening sometimes.
3. There's the full manual approach, of course where you zoom into thousands of percent and move the points by hand manually. I assume this is what you're trying to avoid.

• Regarding: Oracle Reporting tool

hi all
is there any reporting tool in oracle for designing reports for my application. I have already tried reports with crystal report but it is too slow.
Thanks

Hi,
There are installation documents included in the APEX download itself, I really advise reading those documents since they cover everything you need to know about how to install it.
Also, there is a huge amount of information here -
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/index.html
including many HOWTO's, examples, whitepapers, documentation and guides that will give you information about what APEX is, how you to use it and what you can do with it.
Note, since you're looking for a Reporting tool, APEX might not be exactly what you need, however you can easily build reports using APEX, so as I said earlier it really depends on you actual requirements.

• Query regarding the People Tools installation for HRMS & Financials install

Hi all,
Greetings,
After a lot of struggle, I was able to install Peoplesoft HRMS 9.1 on People Tools 8.50 ( had faced a lot of version conflict issues for almost 2 months after I was able to get up this). Now, the challenge is that the client wants me to install Financials (9.0/9.1) and Campus Solutions on the same machine. As such the Weblogic, Tuxedo etc have been installed already, I am unable to adjudge, if we need to install People Tools again, for every module in PeopleSoft ( I was told by one of my friends that for every module like HRMS, Campus Solutions, Financials of PeopleSoft we install, we need to install a subsequent PeopleTools as well, unlike, all of them using the same PeopleTools). Would greatly appreciate if you can help with any table/chart that helps with the version compatibility as well.
Kind Regards,
Vikram

1. This is how we setup the HRMS9.1 on Peopletools 8.50. We had request for a version of Peoplesoft HRMS9.1 compatible with PT 8.50 over the SR.I understand now.
>
Q.Please suggest us on below queries:
a) Peoplesoft Financials 9.0 -- Which version of PT is compatible (to avoid upgrade of either application database or peopletools after we install & configure them)As far as I know, the application 9.0 was initially built on PT8.48 (to avoid PTools upgrade but quite old now).
b) Peoplesoft Financials 9.1 -- Which version of PT is compatible (to avoid upgrade of either application database or peopletools after we install & configure them)The latest FSCM9.1 recut, feature pack March-2011, is available for download on edelivery only within Peopletools 8.51 (so, no upgrade necessary). But again, 9.1 application was initially built on 8.50 (SR required to request media).
Most likely, you should go for the latest version appl/ptools to be able to upgrade as the easiest as possible if needed, or for starting project from scratch, try to keep the same version of components over your application and tools.
Not sure where you want to go though and what is driving your decision.

I don't want to fill the data of Purchase requistion where material field contains nothing data. Whatformula should i write?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
i believe that ISNULL(value) formula is the right formula
if you don't want to display the column at all you should use the hidden condition at the control property, general tab.

Girish,
The Applicataion strategy for Fusion Applications is being planned.
As of now, you will need to use Siebel tools for Siebel integration work, and Oracle JDeveloper will be the unified design-time environment for all development related to Oracle SOA Suite and Fusion Middleware.

• Regarding Data Maintenance Tool

Hi ABAPers,
Can any one Explain me what is the use of Data Maintenance Tool. And also let me know where and how to create this tool.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Ramana Prasad. T

Hi Ramana,

Mass Maintenance to SAP Data – Current Situation
If only a few tens of records are to be added or updated, entering this data manually into SAP is a reasonable option. However, if several hundred to several thousand records are to be updated, manual data entry is not an ideal choice. Manual data entry can get very expensive and time consuming and is not the best utilization of corporate resources – this is especially wasteful for data that already exists in another digital format, e.g., Excel files. Not only that, manual data entry is very error prone and can lead to severely degraded data quality.
The SAP mass-change transactions are only useful for fairly simple data change scenarios where one or more fields need to be changed to a constant value for all records. Most mass changes scenarios are more complex than that and the second and third options are the ones mostly chosen.
The other tools provided by SAP for automating mass maintenance of data, include tools such as ABAP and LSMW, which are extremely technical in nature and require technical experts in the IT departments to create special-purpose data upload programs. Following the standard change control procedures and industry standard software development practices, writing these special programs ends up being a very time consuming and a very expensive proposition for most companies. Further, many of these programs are throw-away programs written for one-time use only.

Mass Maintenance to SAP Data– Ideal Scenario
An ideal tool for mass maintenance of SAP data would let the data update projects to be implemented by the end user departments themselves. A few super-users within these end-user departments that supply the data should have the ability to transfer the data themselves without relying on technical experts. Such a tool would significantly cut the time and effort required in SAP data maintenance.
The ideal tool for mass maintenance of SAP data should be easy to learn and should require no programming. Furthermore, such a tool should work across all the different SAP modules and the SAP products, including the different versions of SAP

• Regarding ALV control: Tool tip for column data

Hi Group,
How can I give the tool tip for the data in ALV grid? For column headers I know that, but for the data in the colums how do I give the tool tip info.
Regards,
Kummi.

Hello Kummi
If you want to have a specific tooltip for an icon displayed in an ALV grid cell then you can use:
@08\Q <tooltip text>@ " shows own tooltip for icon @08@
I am not sure if the same trick works for "normal" cell values. You may give it a try.

• Need Explanation regarding formula

Hi All,
We r loading data from ODS---- Cube. And there is a formula for a particular field. Can Anybody explain me regarding that formula.
IF( Flag = 'A', 0, IF( Net weight < 0, NEGATIVE( Net weight ), Net weight ) )

IF( Flag = 'A', 0, IF( Net weight < 0, NEGATIVE( Net weight ), Net weight ) )
Translation:
if Flag = A
result = 0
else
if net weight < 0
result = - net weight
else
result = net weight
endif
endif
So if the Flag is A, the content of Net Weight is discarded. And if someone gives a negative weight it is set to positive.
I cannot give you an idea why this is necessary.
Kind regards,
Jürgen

• Regarding Formula in Report

Hi,
I have Extracted Lotusnotes data from Flatfile to BW.
For this i need to Creat 3 Formulas like,
<1day,1-2days,>2 Days.
I have to calculate total Number of Tickets for Each month.
Ex;- If u will take June2006 TotalTickets around 250 in SAPBW.
Number of days = Closeddate-openeddate.
So i need to calculate ,
Howmany tickets i have resolved <1 day outof 250.
Howmany tickets i have resolved in 1-2 days outof 250.
Howmany tickets i have resolved >2 days outof 250.
Could you plz give the formulas based on Number of days for above task.
Rgds,
Prash

Assuming these are three individual columns -
columns 1 : <1
formula_KF = boolean "NOD < 1"
(This will return 1 or zero for each row depending on NOD - No_of_days value)
Similarly for column 2
formula_KF2 = "NOD >= 1 and NOD <= 2"
and
formula_KF3 = "NOD > 2"
These columns will result a value of 1 or zero depending on conditions, and the results line would show the total such records.
