Regarding Marking of cost estimate

Hi Experts,
Kindly provide the solution for the below points.
*We only select the 1 material, why in the Marking section system show 6 materials been marked?
*Does the material fail for mark or successfully?
*How can we check the result and who can help us release the block status?
*How can we give the material a new std cost? Should we need to run it again?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Satish.

hi satish,
i hope you are doing cost estimate for finished product it may contain some other materil like SFG, raw material, packing material.
you have selected with quanity strucute structure for both raw material and packing material also.
so the cost estimate is been performed for both both type of material.
check it once in bom how many materials available for it.
thanks

  • Cost estimate/costing run

    Hi
What is the difference between cost estimate and costing run?
    Thanks,
    Nivi

    Hello Ram,
There are 3 steps in Costing Procedure. They are
    1. Creation of cost estimate
    2. Marking of cost estimate
    3. Release  of cost estimate
Once you release cost estimate, then only system will update the required fields in the database and can be used for transactions.
Hence, cost estimate means, it is just estimated total cost of the product and Costing Run means which inclusive of all the above three steps to complete the total process.
Please let me know if you require any further clarifications.
    Thank you,

  • Function module to get the cost estimate

    Hi all
while running the standard  costing run the cost estimate is stored in the table keko and keph.can anyone tell me whether is there any function module to get that cost estimate of a material  which is in released status

    Hi
    Check the following
BAPI_COSTESTIMATE_RELEASING    Release of Marked Standard Cost Estimates
BAPI_COSTESTIMATE_UPDATE_PRICE Update of Prices in Material Master

  • Reorganization of Cost estimates

    Dear All,
Please help in knowing the difference between "Reorganization of Cost Estimates" & "Revaluation" of a product having standard price in material master.
In a nutshell, why "Reorganization of Cost Estimation"(CKR1) is to be done before "Price change" (MR21).
Hope that my query is clear.
    Thanks
    Nikesh Patel

    Nikesh,
    1. Reorganization of cost estimate means deletion of cost estimate, by using the transaction code CKR1 you can delete the current cost estimate, marked (future) cost estimate. It is advisable to do the CKR1 before any goods movements for that material.
Generally this will perform when the business realized that released cost estimate is wrong.
    2. MR21 will use to update the standard price for the materials. when you update the price as per the new standard price your inventory will evaluates at that time there is an accounting entry if your new standard price is greater than old standard price.
Inventory dr to Revaluation inventory cr.
The above GL accounts will trigger as per the OBYC--> UMB settings.
Please let me know if you need any further help.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Cost Estimate Deletion Problem

    Hi,
I have executed the cost estimate for the material. Now i wanted to delete it in CKR1 as it is incorrect. So that i can execute a new cost estimate for this.
but my doubt is - if we execute cost estimate, then it will update in material master costing view.If i delete and then execute new cost estimate for the same material.will the new rates will be update? or the old incorrect rates are not deleted?
    Kindly advise me
    Thanks
    Supriya

From the time you run a cost estimate, till the time it reaches the material master, there are three stages.
First run and save the cost , Second mark the cost estimate, Third release the cost estimate.
There is no change to the material master for the first two stages with respect to material value. When you mark, it just updates the future price. Only at the third stage, the material price changes with the new cost estimate value.  For any quantity that is in stock, the change in vaule is journalised.
Hence, if you have just run the cost estimate, you are only in the first stage. You can comfortably delete CKR1. But please exercise caution, any wrong deletion can take away the cost estimate stored in the material master. This does not take away the standard price, only the estimate gets removed. As a result, you may not be able to get the cost component report for production order etc.
When you are in CKR1, open up the small plus icon, which will give you more selection option to help you pinpoint the cost estimate that you want to delete.
You can also check details of the current cost estimate in the costing view to find out which cost estimate has got updated in the standard price.

  • Automatic cost estimate while transferring to accounting.

While Posting billing Document from SD to FI, I am getting error as mention below
" The system tried to read the product cost estimate for product 20000050 using the costing variant aZPC4 and the costing version 01.
However, the product cost estimate has the status KF, which means that it contains errors. Therefore the cost estimate is not valid."
When we try to do the cost estimate manually then it estimates without errors.
    Waiting eagerly for your replies,
    Ariel Desa

First, you need to make sure you cost the material without errors (the status will then be KA)
Then you need to mark and release (*please see note below)  your cost using transaction CK24. The status will then change to FR.
(*PS: If your system is setup to read Future Cost Estimates, you only need to mark the Cost Estimate and not release it.)
You can now release your Billing to FI.
    Cheers.

  • Urgent- Marked cost estimate

    Hello,
Kinldy let me know how to delete a previosuly marked cost estimate , i am re running the costing run but it's failin at costing point sayin it;s already marked but we did never released it first time.
    plese let me know,

You have to use the Re-organization through CKR1. But be cautious of this transaction if you are using in production. If you forget to do a proper selection, you may have to repent, as it may wipe out the whole cost estimates that supports the already released cost .
Be patient and restrict as much in selection Choose the material, plant and select future cost estimate.

  • Cost estimate run in case of PP-PS scenario

We are having PP-PS scenario at one of our location , BOM is maintained in CS01and activity rate is maintained in KP26, project WBS is created in PS for project monitoring , the project time is normally 6-9 months, It is Make to Order business.
I want to know whether we have to run CK11n and CK24 for mark and release for standard cost estimate or it will get automatically get calculated on the basis of planned cost after confirmation of production in production order.
I checked  qbew table valuation was on the basis of planned cost where as in material master MM03 material value was different.

    Hi
    1. You need std cost from CK11N only if you can manufacture independent of the project any time. Else it is not reqd
    2. I dont know abt your 2nd question.. So unable to answer
    3. For each project and production order that you create, system would calculate planned cost and that should cover changes in BOM. However, you can also use MR21 to update the price in QBEW any time...
In this scenario, you can do a testing as follows
    1. Create a Project and Production Order and to the GR. Check @ what value GR takes place
    2. Change the BOM and create a project and production order so that a diff planned cost is calculated.... DO the GR and check at what value GR takes place

  • Issue with Standard Cost estimates / Material Ledger

    Background:
We have been using SAP for the last 5 years with Material Ledger active. Due to a number of reasons, we have not revised its standard cost estimates from 2001 till now. This means that at month end, we do not mark and release prices as recommended, nor do we mark prices and use dynamic release.
    What Happened:
A new material called PFSW3 was made. This is a FERT. Before production
could start my team released the standard cost estimate for this material. Production was now able to proceed without problem. Then, when the time came to sell the material (VF02), SAP again raised the error 'cost estimate not found'. On checking the standard price in MM03, we discovered that the future cost estimate was missing. So we created and marked a new cost estimate in the middle of February 2007.
    Problem:
When the first sale took place, SAP released the marked cost estimate and posted a Price Change document to adjust for the new standard cost. I understand this was due to dynamic release. Now, when month end came, the system settled all the production orders of material PFSW3 but did not do multi level costing on it.
    Internal Investigation:
My team has determined that the material PFSW3 has price determination 2 set by mistake. All our other production materials (HALB and FERT) are
set to price determination 3 in the material master (accounting view).
    Questions:
    To sum this situation up,
we need to know why the material PFSW3 was not marked closed in its period status (CKM3) at the time of closing through CKMLCP?
What are the implications of not closing this material in Feb 2007 (current period status is showing 'Quantities and values entered')?
How can we close this material this month?
The future cost estimate is again missing for PFSW3 in March 2007 and I
fear we are going to face more problems as this material is sold to customers.
Please respond this is an urgent issue.

    Dear Shumyl,
Please, have a look at Note 645083 - Material period status set to "Closing Entry Completed" that might help to closing your material in previous period.
    Hope it will be useful.
    Regards,
    Flaviano.

  • Valuation using material cost estimate

    Ciao a tutti,
We have create a material cost
estimate without standard structure(unit costing) not FOR ALL MATERIALS, but only for ONE
VARIANT of generic material (retail solution) (because the other variant have the same price, and because we have to reproduced 5000 BOM in unit cost for just
one variant with transaction KKPA LSMW)
So, now we have to valuated the material cost estimate when the customer create the billing document and put the split of the cost estimate in co-pa
Our prolem is : we have calculate standard cost estimate for 5000
variant not for all variant (because our customer crete the BOM in unit
costing with transaction KKPA and LSMW, and they refuced the idea to
calculate 30000 cost estimate with lsmw) so when we crete a billing
document with a variant that haven't cost estimate created the system doesn't
valuated the cost estimate (the system works well), but how I can change the variant in the valuation and put the variant that have the cost
    estimate calculate?
Wiht the transaction "Assign Costing Keys to Any Characteristics" I think
    is not possible.
I must to use enhance COPA0002?
    Thank you very much

    Hi All,
I am also facing the problem for Sales Order Cost Estimate. and the Costing Status is VO(Marked without errors).
    I have done the following
created the Costing Key (sales order cost estimate)
assigned costing key to the material type.
assigned to the respective value fields
    sales order cost estimate,
    Run the RA
    Settlement done.
But in COPA, cost estimates are not being split up based on the cost component (like Material, Labour and Over head) and it is getting posted to COGS only.
Do we need to change the costing status to FR, if yes, but how to do ?

  • Material cost estimate can't be released

    Hello Experts
I've already handled with necessary steps including CK11N (create cost estimate), CK24(Mark and release), but it failed to be released although the cost estimate has been updated into 'Future' sheet in material master. It seems like the issue resulted during cost estimate creation, there is message existing in log. the message is described as 'No structure could be determined for internal activity ATL-00(CC530-00)'.
Could anyone please kindly advise me which customizing is needed to be done to solve this issue?
    B.R.
    Nicole

    Hi,
Please check whether this activity costs have been assigned to the cost component structure in 'OKTZ'.
    Good Luck!!!

  • Cost Estimate Run

    Hi Gurus,
Please tell me why we run cost estimate and what is the use of it.
What are impacts of running cost estimate?
    Please revert asap.
    Thank You

    Hi,
Cost Estimate is runned to calculate the Cost of Goods Manufactured or Cost of Goods Sold for your Materials and Update the prices in Material Master.
You have different ways of Calculating your COGS and COGM in SAP.
    The Important methods are
Cost Estimate With Qunatity Structure and Without Quantity Structure.
In Cost Estimate With Qunatity Structure  you will not have the option of entering the lot size for your Cost Estimation. It will be automatically determined from your BOM and Routing.
Whereas In Cost Estimate  Without Quantity Structure you need to manually enter the Quantity at the time Cost Estimation.
With Regard to Impact of Cost Estimates.
While Running the Costing Run you have to Mark or Release your Cost Estimation results inorder to Update the prices in Material Master record.
Hope I have briefly given an idea baout Cost Estimates and its impact.

  • How to change price total for "Change Unit Cost Estimate Screen" for KKE1 Tcode ?

There is a requirement of bringing the Material Price in KKE1 while entering the Item Catogory M ( M for Material) from the Gross Price in the condition type (P001) that is entered in the Purchase order.Currently systems brings the material value from MAP(Moving average Price) in the Material Master data.
I have looked into the user exit 1) EXIT_SAPLKKEC_001 2) EXIT_SAPLKKEC_002  available in this T code KKE1.When I put break-point in these user-exit,it is not going in debugging mode while fetching the price value in Price total column  for "Change Unit Cost Estimate" screen in KKE1.
How will change pricing condition for material in KKE1?
I want to change price condition for material  as marked in red as shown in the screen-shot.
Where will write the code such that I will bring Price Total based on material number as shown in the image?

    Hi Ram,
I think you can do the same in thei manner.
    Go to program SAPMV45A.
    use menu GOTO -
    > Text Elements----
    >Text Symbols
Here make change of Text-002 Sold-To Party as saleable .

  • Regarding marking and releasing in CK24.

The customer has a direct delivery process as in they purchase finished goods and just sell them. Such a material is newly created under a plant.
In this case there is no  in house production of that material and the price needs to be maintained manually in MM01. But the user has created a PIR for it and run CK24.
Now when I try to change the value of the std price using MM02 I am not able to.
how do I set the std price manually for this material after the CK24 run is carried out?

    Dear Ajitha Koti,
    check this,
    1. A raw material's (Externally procured material)price can be captured either using a moving average
price or using a planned price or using a price change done in MR21.
2.Standard cost estimate are generally carried out for the Finished product and while doing the
calculation the system calculates the cost of the Semi-finished product or sub-assemblies.
3.Standard cost estimate will be carried out only once in a period for a product.
4.This can be done either using CK40N alone or else using CK11N for cost estimate and CK24 for
    Marking and release.
5.Creating a PIR has no impact or no way related to costing.
so now check and come back with your queries.

  • New costing run within same period for relased cost estimate

    Hi All
Once we have run the costing run. The price is marked and released. Then If we have to again runthe costing run, system says price for the priod has been released and doesnt allow to proceed.
How to overcome this? Cant we run costing run as and when required and multiple times release it in the same period?
    Please help me
    Regards
    Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
I would like to know what is your requirement of running the Standard Cost Estimate for second or third time in the same period...?
If you feel that, Standard Cost which was marked and released needs to be updated as per the changes in BOM, Routing etc, you can still do it...
First, go to transaction code CKR1 (Re-organization of Cost Estimates), select the parameters like company code, plant, material (for which you want to reverse the Cost Estimate), select the radio button for "Current Standard Cost Estimate" and execute.
Then, Current Standard Cost Estimate will get reversed. You check for confirmation in the respective material master -- Costing 2 View whether the Current Planned Price has become blank or not.
Then you do CK11N and CK24 again for marking and releasing....
Try this and pls revert back for further explanation...
