New costing run within same period for relased cost estimate

Hi All
Once we have run the costing run. The price is marked and released. Then If we have to again runthe costing run, system says price for the priod has been released and doesnt allow to proceed.
How to overcome this? Cant we run costing run as and when required and multiple times release it in the same period?
Please help me
Regards
Rakesh

Hi Rakesh,
I would like to know what is your requirement of running the Standard Cost Estimate for second or third time in the same period...?
If you feel that, Standard Cost which was marked and released needs to be updated as per the changes in BOM, Routing etc, you can still do it...
First, go to transaction code CKR1 (Re-organization of Cost Estimates), select the parameters like company code, plant, material (for which you want to reverse the Cost Estimate), select the radio button for "Current Standard Cost Estimate" and execute.
Then, Current Standard Cost Estimate will get reversed. You check for confirmation in the respective material master -- Costing 2 View whether the Current Planned Price has become blank or not.
Then you do CK11N and CK24 again for marking and releasing....
Try this and pls revert back for further explanation...

The cost of the Full Logic Pro 9 from the App Store is less than the cost of the discontinued Boxed Upgrade set for Logic Studio (if you could find one) ... so you might as well purchase the full Logic Pro 9 from the App store and be done.

  • Apply previous period Costing run to Current period

    Hi ,
Is there any way I can apply a previous period costing run to the current period?
I had done a full costing run through transaction CK40N on Oct 2010 with the following dates
    Posting Period: November 2010
Costing Date From: Nov 1st 2010
Costing Date To: Dec 31st 2010
Qty Structure Date: Nov 1st 2010
    Valuation Date: Nov 1st 2010
How can I apply the results of this costing run to December 2010? I do not want the costing run to affect November 2010 and I also do not want to re-run the costing run.
    Thanks,
    Sincerely,
    Nicky

    Hi,
We have just completed the analysis of the November costing run which consisted of a  huge list of materials. We do not want to re-run the costing run for December because we will have to do the analysis again and we fear that we will not be able to update costing before Dec 31st 2010.
Is there no other way to re-apply the Nov Costing run results to Dec?
    Sincerely,
    Nicky

  • Does the new Classic run the same software as the older one?

Does the new (120GB) version of the Classic run the same software as the older ones (80/160GB)?
The reason I ask this is because I am interested in a Classic, but only the 160GB version. Will it run the same software, with the same features, as the new 120GB version?
For that matter, is there any difference between the two versions of the Classic, other than storage capacity?

    Babaganoosh wrote:
What are the new software features, other than Genius (which I don't plan on using anyway)?
Some that I have read about include...
    Better battery life.
Same slimmer size as the old 80GB (I guess the 160GB was pretty chunky).
The headphone port now supporting the new remote control and microphone headphones (where ever that gets released) so you can record your own voice memos and control the iPod from the headphone cord rather than digging it out of your pocket.
Also when watching videos, IF the video has them encoded in, you can now turn on subtitles or listen to alternate audio tracks (e.g. the Spanish translation, directory commentaries, etc.). But again, this would assume the video has those features encoded into the video. The iPod only turns them on.
That is about it. I lifted most of the above stuff off the iLounge review (which is quite good) found here...

  • When I run the same query for the second time it's faster, I want to reset this behavior

    I am running a query in oracle 11g select A from B where C = ':D' B has millions of records.
The first time i run it it takes about 30 seconds, the second time i run the query it takes about 1 second.
Obviously it's caching something and i want it to stop that, each time i run the query i want it to take 30s - just like it was running for the first time.
The reason I want to reset this is because for testing purposes I want to measure this query at the very first time.
    Please help.

No - you do NOT want to do that. Not if you want to get results that really represent how that query will work in reality.
See these two AskTom blogs where he discusses the reasons for NOT doing this in detail.

  • Deleting Costing Run

    Hi Guru's,
    1) Can anybody explain me the difference between the usage of CKR1 and CK44?
    2) Which one is better to use CKR1 or CK44?
    3) TCode or Program to delete the costing run in bulk?
Actually, the intention is to reduce data from CKIS table.

    Dear Abhishek,
1.CKR1 is it reorganize the cost estimates like for current std cost estimate or previous std cost estimate or else for future
standard cost estimate. After performing this the system deletes the entry from the respective field in the material master, say in
case if you have executed for current std cost estimate, after performing CKR1,the system deletes the value from the current
    price column in costing2 view.
2.CK44 is used for deleting the costing run which were created for std.cost estimate either through Ck40N or else CK41.
So in my understanding the functionality wise these 2 T codes perform different actions.

  • Product Costing - Two Costing Variants - Mark and Release In Same Company Code Same Period

    Hi All,
We are currently handling a CO-PC project where client has requirement to use two different costing variants in the same period in the same company code. SAP standard does not allow use of two costing variants in the same period for the same company. We can have only One Costing Variant per Co Code for Marking / Releasing Standard Price.
There are some materials in Plant 1 or Plant 2 for which cost estimates using costing variant ABC1 calculated and than prices are marked and released (CK24), now same materials are received in Plant3 where mixed costing is used and thus need to have cost estimates from second costing variant ABC3 (second costing variant) marked and released. Object is to have ABC3 cost estimates in material master standard price field, but SAP does not allow to mark and release for second costing variant in the same period for same co code as ABC1 variant already ran for plant1 or Plant2 under same company code, therefore, business is not able update ABC3 prices in Standard price of the material master.
Purpose of this second costing variant mark and release run is that for some materials business would like to implement costing at Plant3 level also, where they get same materials from different production sites (Plants). At Plant3 level, business is using mixed costing where the standard price is a weighted Average standard price, taking the different production sites standard cost into consideration in combination of the volume split between those production sites.
Did any one worked on this kind of requirement? Is there any SAP standard way to handle? Or this will need some ABAP enhancement?
    Kindly advise.

    Hi Atul
    1. You dont need separate Valuation Variant in Plant 3
    2. Use Costing Variant ABC1 and ensure that it has the needed Valuation Strategies in Valuation Variant
Allow Complete Transfer in the Transfer Control i.e. Cross Plant Transfer in it
    3. Assign the Qty Str Type you have used in ABC3, to ABC1.. i.e. In the Costing Version, assign the Qty Str Type to the Costing Type and Valuation Variant from ABC1
After this, do CK11N and CK24 for Plant 1
Then do CK11N and CK24 for Plant 3, using ABC1.. You dont need to change anythiing before doing CK11N for Plant 3
To make it simple, you can use any one of ABC1 or ABC3 in both the plants.. You only need to ensure that Valuation Variant, TRansfer Control are set up as desired

  • Prerequisites for costing run

Can anybody tell me the prerequisites for costing run..
I thought the requisites are BOM and routing only.. Is there anything else..
What is a Product cost collector... Please explain the importance of the same..

Pre - Requisites for costing Run :
    1. Material Master With costing view
    2. BOM
    3. Routing.
    4. Workcentre ( with cost centre / Activity type)
Once when  you have all the master data then a costing variant should is required.
    this is at configuration level.
    Product Cost collector:
    1. these are used in the Repetivite manufacuting sceenarion.
    2. in Rem we dont have individual production orders, we willcreate one produce cost collector for the material/plant /production version combination.
    3. This actually genarates a CO order
    4. This product cost colletor becomes the central point for collection of all cost related to that material
    5. All the costs collected here will be settled to the material periodicaly..
    6. You can create PCC with kkf6n.
Kindly let me know ur feedback

  • Costing run & MM period

    Dear All,
Can someone clarify the below question :
    Current period - 7
    Date - 26.07-2011
    Procedure 1 :
    a) Run MMPV to close period 7 & open period 8  2011
    b) Mark & execute Costing run
    Procedure 2 :
    a) Mark & execute Costing run
    b) Run MMPV to close period 7 & open period 8  2011
Which is the right approach ? and also can we use both procedure in practise ?
    Thanks in advance
    Pbb

    Hi
Simple answer is whichever period you are releasing the cost in, has to be open Both in MM & FI
If you wanna release in July, then P7needs to be open
By the way, 26 July is already gone... So, if your Costing date from was 26.07, you will have to rerun Ck11N as on today and then do CK24

  • Release Strategy for inter Storage Loc Material transfer within same Plant

    Hi Guru's
I hope all are doing good. I gota small concern to share with you. Is it possible to apply Release Strategy between two Storage Locations within same Plant for Material Movement?
    Many Thanks

Release Strategy cannot be assigned in material document.
However you can restrict this at authorisation level for T code MIGO_TR.

  • Unable to Release Costing Run

    Hi All
I am in the process of testing the costing run in a test environment - however, everytime I try to release my Costing estimate - I keep getting the below error:
    Company code: Release too early
    Message no. CK157
My requirement is to have the new cost on the materials on 29/11/2009 - which is the first day of period 12.
What should be my date parameters?
    Thank you
    Rukshana

    Hi,
    a) We can execute the Standard cost Estimate/Costing Run-CK40 N only for Current period and also for Future posting periods.  However it is not possible for u201Cpast/completed/closed periods. Again, you can u201CMarku201D the standard price for current and future periods.  For u201CReleasingu201D the standard price, you need to wait for opening of the respective posting period.  In your case, on 29/11/2009, you can complete the Costing Run-CK40N steps till u201CMarkingu201D of standard price.  To u201CRelease the standard price for the material, you need to wait till opening of 12-posting period. If you want to execute u201CCosting Runu201D for individual materials for specific plant, use t-code CK11N and for Mark and Release of material standard price, use t-code-CK24. Otherwise, for Costing Run of Group/Mass Material s for all the Plants, and also Mark and Release of all materials prices, use t-code-CK40N.
    b) how the Cost Change posts to the P&L and also how the material master gets updated...
By executing the u201CStandard Cost Estimate--Costing Run-CK40N, we can get the planned price/standard price for current or future periods. The respective material master will be updated with u201CCurrent Standard Priceu201D.  NO ACCOUNTING ENTRIES WILL BE GENERATED.
The system will automatically posts the P&L GL accounting entries only during the u201CActual consumption  of materialu201D, i.e., during execution of Back-flush and  Confirmation of Production/process Orders.

  • Costing run in PP

    Dear all,
I am new to costing run,by using previous forum from the expert of kumar and rupesh i have studied the costing run process
    From my understanding
    1) For  FG/SFG materials with quantity structure  to be maintained in material master.
    2) Relevant BOM and routing should be maintained for FG/SFGmaterials.
    3) In work center proper cost center and activity type to be maintained
4 )what are the activity type is maintaining in work center for that price to be determined in KP26 for valid time period.
    5) By using CK11N running the standard cost estimate and save
6)By  using ck24 marking and release the price of the material.
7)Now checking in material master costing view 2 planned prices values has updated.
In above points kindly please correct me if i am wrong.
    Regarding doubts
For example;1)I am maintaining fixed prices as 102 in material master, what will be in COGM & COGS cost value?(if cost lot size 1 & 100)
2)What will the price value in costing 2 view once after marking & releasing the price in ck24?
3)I have mainatined labour price in kp26 but tha cost values its coming as zero?
Kindly please let me clarify on this

  • Cost Center based Release Strategy for PR's

    System :4.6c
At this time, we have PR release strategy with classification configured for over all release.
Created a new characteristic for cost center , assigned the values for the cost center characteristic, with zeros at the beiginnig.
Now when I create a PR with multiple line items and with multiple cost centers, the system is not deriving the release strategy defined. But if I create multiple line items with the same cost center, the system is able to find the right release strategy.
Does it have to be the same cost center in all the line items to trigger the right release strategy?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Looking at your question it seems you are using overall release strategy. If the characteristic value is not same for all line items then during overall release strategy determination, the system uses "BLANK" value for this characteristic.
In order for a release strategy to be found, when you have different
cost center in different PR items you need to add a blank value to your allowed characteristic value for the cost center in your release strategy. Also use Account Assignment Category (KNTTP) as one of your characteristics and define K as an entry, so that release is triggered only when it determines cost center blank with account assignment K.
But if for diff cost centers there is diff strategy then you better opt for Item level Release.
    Please give this a Try.
    Regards
    Chandra Shekhar

  • How can I use a GL for multiple Cost Centers?

    Hello all,
I would appreciate your comments on the following issue. POINTS AVIALABLE. I have setup several cost centers in my Sandbox. The cost centers represent departments that my client has eg Finance & Accounting, Marketing, Shipping/Warehouse.
I have created cost elements for the P&L accounts using OKB2, OKB3, SM35. My client sometimes has situations where they use the same GL for several cost centers. For example, the Freight Expense GL acct is used by Shipping/Warehouse cost center. However, someone in the Accounting/Finance cost center could also use that same GL account as well if they were shipping some documents. I can’t use OKB9, since the GL is not used exclusively by the Shipping/Warehouse Cost Center.
<b>If, for example, we create a Sales order, I want to be able to specify somewhere that the freight for that SO must go to the Shipping/Warehouse Cost center. Is there a field in an SO, Delivery document or billing document where we can tell the system that this freight is being used for Shipping/Warehouse cost center?</b>
I know if the Accounting Cost center uses the Freight GL, we can specify the Cost Center in FB50, so that is not a big concern.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Sunil,
Thanks for your response. I tried go to VL02N and selected the line item and then went to 'GOTO'-- 'Header' --'Financial Processing'. <b>I don't see a field 'Cost Center'.</b> All I see are the following:
    Billing block
    Billing status
    Totals status
    Paym.guar.proc.
    Financ.doc.no.
    Opening date
    Validity end
    Billing Date
    Billing date
    Depreciation
    PresentDate
    Number of days
But if I select the item, won't the whole cost of the item be sent to the cost center? I am trying to just get the Freight charged on the item to get posted to the Shipping/Warehouse Cost center.
    <b>Please advise.</b>
    Thanks.
