Regarding the get pernr function

Hi guys,
Got to know that when we use get pernr it automatically checks for the autherization on pernrs to view data.
Would like to know who all have access to see which pernrs? Can i get any ideas on this....

Triggers the associated events when data is read in an executable (type 1) program using a logical database.
node is a node in the logical database that is assigned to the report (type 1 program) in the program attributes. You must declare the node in the report using the NODES statement (or the TABLES statement, if the node is of the type "table").
The node node corresponds to a data object of the same name.
node is available for processing during the flow of the logical database. Moreover, you can also make reference to the fields from the node that lie on the access path for node in the logical database associated with the report - unless the node is of the dynamic dictionary type.
Notes
You can use the event "GET dbtab." only once in the report.
The GET events are implemented internally as FORM routines. This makes all data objects declared with DATA local, that is, they are only recognized and addressable within the event. This also applies to AT SELECTION-SCREEN ....
The logic is somewhat different for nodes of the dynamic dictionary type. You must declare these nodes in the report using the NODES node TYPE type statement. In this case, type a dictionary type from the logical database for the node node - that is, the type of the data object node assigned to the node node can differ in different reports. In this case, the data object node is local to the -GET event and has the structure type. Outside the -GET event, a (global) data object node also exists and has the static type assigned to the node. The actual data is, however, returned in the local field node and is available only within the -GET event.
Example
The program uses the logical database F1S which has a structure where the table BOOKING appears below the table FLIGHT.
NODES: SFLIGHT, SBOOK.
GET SFLIGHT.
WRITE: SFLIGHT-CARRID,
         SFLIGHT-CONNID,
         SLFIGHT-FLDATE,
         SFLIGHT-PLANETYPE.
GET SBOOK.
WRITE: SBOOK-BOOKID,
         SBOOK-CUSTOMID,
         SBOOK-ORDER_DATE.

Hi,
Try the REJECT statement followed by the name of the logical database.
Example:
REJECT 'PERNR'.
Don't forget to assign points and close the thread when you are finished.

Accuracy of the get timestamp function accuracy +/- 16 ms??

I'm using the "Get Timestamp Function" in my vi to mark time in my file roughly every 30 seconds. The problem I am seeing is that it seems sometimes it is 16 ms off. Sooner rather than later. Do I need to mix this with the get time in seconds function? I would like consistant values in my file.

Hi Chris,
this function is based on Windows timing functions and those only update each 16ms... So you cannot use this function to measure time in higher resolution than 16ms!
Some more thoughts:
- You have a deviation of 16ms after your mentioned 30s interval: that's an error of only ~0.05%. How accurate is the timing of your PC? How accurate (in terms of exact timing) are other processing steps of your program?
- Maybe Wiebes vi may help you...

The "get info" function is broken in iTunes 10 (and in iTunes 9.2)

*Steps to reproduce this iTunes BUG:*
_Step 1._
Edit some track info (the id3 tags) in a third party program.
(I'm a DJ, so I'm using Serato Scratch Live http://serato.com/scratchlive to edit most tags)
_Step 2._
Select all tracks in iTunes and press cmd+I to for the "Get Info" dialog.
_Step 3._
Click the "OK" button in the "Multiple Item Information" dialog.
*Expected Result:*
iTunes scans through all the selected tracks and updates any info that has been change in the 3rd party program. (This is default behavior in iTunes 9.1.1 and below)
*Actual Result:*
iTunes will _no longer scan_ the files for updated info, it will only check if the files are still are available on disk.
*Why this is such a big deal:*
I get new music almost every day. All tracks need to go into the DJ software for BPM analyze and organization. Tracks will then be imported into iTunes and added to several smart lists for syncronization to my iPods. After this function was broken there is no longer an easy way to update my smart lists with the new tracks coming in.
_Extra info:_
Settings "*Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized*" & "*Copy files to iTunes Media Folder when adding to Library*" are turned off. I need to manage my media folders manually.

This is not productive, I do A LOT of tags in Serato ScratchLIVE (Have about 45.000 songs in my library constantly) I will take a long time just to try to remember what songs I tagged.

I'm doing quite a lot of work on all of my files regulary. (at least twice a week: fridays before DJ gigs, sundays after, and a probably a few times during the week too.) In short, I go through my tracks in Serato Scratch Live, add the text "3 star" etc, to the comments field (Serato Scratch Live don't read the iTunes star ratings), fix any genre tags (got a pretty extensive systems for those) etc, then rescan in iTunes and add the iTunes star rating as well.
Then there is smart lists in iTunes (based on star ratings, added date, genre etc.) that I sync to my iPods to keep updated on the go. This makes for a VERY efficient system for organizing the top tracks, and weeding out anything I don't want. (i will also do star ratings on the iPod on the go, re-sync to iTunes and add the to the comments field)
If I had to find every track manually in iTunes after doing the "star" comment tag in Serato Scratch Live, it would defeat the purpose. I would never manage to get by. I mean, iTunes only need to check if the file itself has changed since last id-scan, then read any new tag.
Even backup programs like Carbon Copy Cloner can go through 45.000 files in a snap, and only copy the altered ones, so why should it be so hard to rescan tags in iTunes?
To top this off:
I have loads of music ripped to my master archive (about 10.000 album cd's) So I'm always digging for tracks, rediscovering my collection. That's what DJ'ing is about I think, digging for the hidden gems. So yes, I'll never be done tagging all my songs, but at least if the rescan worked like it should, it would make my life "liveable"
After 2 month of neglect Id like to hear anyone from Apple comment on this.

The get messages function only works for the first account

regardless of which account is listed in any order, the get messages button only gets messages for the first account in the list, thus if you are expecting one into another account you have to highlight that account and click the get messages....

Perhaps your talking of add-ons. If you found an add-on perhaps you could mention what it is, so that I and other might know it exists.
You appear to be under some misconceptions,

2. Searching add-on is someone elses job.
3. Someone is getting paid to accept your criticism. I am not.
If I as a fellow user an ignorant of an add-on then tough luck for those I advise. They should have been resourceful enough to search for add-ons before they asked the question. I can only tell people what I know.

Regarding the Ref Cursor functional;ity

I am using ref cursor to return Result Set to .Net.
I am in doubt that , Is it requires multiple server trips to fill the DataSet at front end.
As my assumption it will return the address of the work area provided in Oracle server. After that for each row it make a server trip .
Is my assumption is right ?
Can any one tell me the functionality behind returning a Ref Cursor .

This is (or ought to be) configurable on the .NET side. There will be a server round-trip to fetch every N records where N is a setting on the client. I'm not particularly experienced with .NET, so I'm not sure where this setting is set, but the folks over in the .NET forum might.

Regarding the Illuminated key function

Im not entirely sure, why but when i attempt to illuminate the keys they wont.
Im wondering does this have to do with the battery? its at about 25% battery health and it doesnt allow me to illuminate the keys, and when i plugged the power adapter in, it also didnt allow me to illuminate the keys either.
does it have to be at a certain percentage to allow me to illuminate the keys at all?
it was working fine the past few days.
it just shows me the little illumination icn with a "NO" symbol

Nothing to do with power. There ambient light sensors under both speaker grilles, and it must be dark for the kb illumination to work. Put a magazine over each speaker then try.

Regarding the "Get a Free iPhone" advertisement...

I can understand how the iPhone 5s 16gb can be valued at $300, and the iPhone 4 16gb can be valued at $200, but how can the iPhone in between, the iPhone 5 16gb be valued the SAME as an iPhone 4? If Verizon is valuing the iPhone 4 at $200, shouldn't the iPhone 5 be valued at $250? It is 2 years newer than an iPhone 4, with better features, yet priced the same?

The actual trade-in value Verizon states on their site is much less without the promotion (most of us agree these values are very low).

Verizon just adds different 'promotional' amounts to make the trade-in total either $200 or $300 depending on the model. If you don't want them to do that for you, I recommend selling your phone yourself.

Is there a way to use 'GET PERNR' without the selection screens?

I would like to use the GET PERNR event in a batch program without using the default selection screens. I would like to be able to use my own selection screen and parameters, but only get them along with the default selection options for payroll period. I've tried removing the screen number from the attributes screen, but still get these options. Is this possible?

report Category is a Pushbutton on the Attributes popup, it only appears if you use PNP logical DB.
this is from SAPHelp: "Report Category
Category used for HR reports that use the PNP logical database. It controls the type and number of fields that appear on the selection screen of an evaluation report."

GET PERNR skips some employees in the report

Hi all.
This is my first post in this forum. I'm beginner in ABAP programming and I've got a issue in my report that I don't succeed in solving it.
In the first line of the source code, within the start-of-selection event, I use the GET PERNR command to bring the employee personnel numbers. While I was debugging I've noted this command was skipping some employees. There isn't any line of code before the GET PERNR.
Do you have any ideia about what's happening?

here is another probably cause. The dates. It´s important that the employees,
are active in the infotype(I think that is Infotype 0), in the dates that check your program. It´s useful to know
the selection data period (pnpbegda/pnpendda), the employees selection data (pnpbegps/pnpendps), the radiobutton selection data (pn-begda/pn-endda), of the pnp logical d.b.selection screen. You can see the values of these fields debbuging Ah!, another point, start-of-selection & Get pernr, are differents events in the execution of an abap program.

Hi Ravi,
GET PERNR event initiates the data extraction for a pernr.
GTE PERNR LATE event is triggered after all the other events are triggered and right before the end-of-selection.

Get pernr based on company code in logical databse

Hi,
    When using the get pernr event, all the pernrs that I get are in the ascending order I want them first grouped based on the company code and then on pernr.
Any suggestions would be appreciated abd suitably rewarded.
for ex: get pernr.
           write:/ pernr, bukrs.
         end-of-selection.
result:   00000099 1001
          00000002 1003

We are sending the payroll information to the 3rd party for pay check purposes, at my client side they have inserted a custom include in the standard program and populating the information in a flat file which needs to be sorted first based on company code and then on pernr. If I try to do it later,the code is becoming a mess, so I want to know is there a way to get pernr using logical database whose order is based on company code.

Get pernr in creen 900 for ldb PNP

I have created a program in HR-ABAP using ldb pnp and I have used the screen 900 [for get payroll] Now for few employees when I use GET pernr, its nt giving ne results. as in the the program goes to end of selection. Now wen i change the screen to normal [ blank or 000], the get pernr for same employees gives me results. Can someone please explain the reason for above?

Hi Reena
Check the status of employees for no result is displayed in 900 screen. Either they are active or payroll is run or not. That might be one of the reason. Another reason can be they are being open for the changes.

GET PERNR usage

hello Abap Gurus:
Can any one please clarify me a question on GET PERNR Key word.
I know that get pernr statement gets all the infotype records for selected pernrs on the selection screen.
But my questiosn is whether get pernr access the database for each pernr selected on selection screen and process them or it gets all the infotypes data for selected pernrs in one shot.
if not then whether this is not a performance issue.
Please clarify me as i am a newbie in hr programming.

It reads all employee numbers and related infotypes at one shot.
During debugging of the GET PERNR operation please check that SY-DBCNT value is always constant.
"The logical database reads all columns from all nodes that are not designated for field selection in the logical database and are superior to node on the access path of the logical database. "
