  • Issue with the Replacement Path Variable.

    Hi,
I have an issue in using the Replacement Path Variable.
Issue: I have Sales information in the Sales Cube and AR information in the Accounts Receivable cube. Now we have a requirement to show the open AR documents with Sales information in it.
Apparently the system generates same number for both AR and Billing document.
So I thought of using the Replacement path variable in the Sales Query on Billing Document, so that it runs the AR query to get the list of open AR documents into the Sales query. But the system is complaining:
"System error in program CL_RSR_OLAP and form IF_RSR_OLAP~MODIFY_VQUERY_SETTINGS-01- (see long text)".
I searched OSS note on this and found the note: 1432062. Implemented, but now it complains:
"Abort Variable XXX cannot be replaced in this query".
I am trying to return the result from Accounting Document to the Billing Document. I know this is an issue, but after implementing the Note, i thought it would be fixed. But no luck.
Did anyone come across this situation. If you have any solution for this, pls let me know.
    Thanks.

    Hello;
    Why don't you try to add the billing document in your financial cube;
mapping it with the a ccount document number?
This should make the replacement path work fine.

  • Regarding the Logical Path and file name

    Hi all ,
I am using LSMW for creating  the BOM of a material .
I am getting problem at step 7 , saying the logical path is pointing to physical directory .
Then i did some R & D . I created the logical path and logical file name using transaction FILE . Then i got the physical path using FM file_get_name.
But when i give those logical path and logical file names , still i am getting prob.... at step 7 of lsmw.
Pls let me know . I did my best unti l now ....
    Regards

    Hi Raj,
Can you send the Error which you got at Step 7??
It would be of great help if you can send the File Path and the file names you have used.

  • How the Replacement path is working in the variable.

    Hi SDNers,
Can any one give the scenario, how the processing type "Replacement path" is working in the variable.
    Thanks,
    Satya

    Hi,
    For example..
If you want to find the Ton 10 customers for company you will develop a query and based on some condition you will get the top 10 customers.. and again if you want to see the top 10 customers sales or products what they purchased then you go for another query to develop. In this case.
In the second query create a variable on Customer object with Replacement path as processing type in that you have to mention the previous query (i.e., top 10 customers). Then it gets the values of top 10 customers from the previous query and generates the report for requirement you want.
    Hope this is clear.
    Veerendra.

  • Advice me regarding the certification path for 10g database certification.

    Hello friends,
I am planning to take the certification for Oracle 10g database Associate, and am confused about the codes of the tests I need to take.
    I have following queries:-
    1) Is it enough to take 1Z0-042, to take Oracle Certified Associate, certification?
    2) Is it necessary to take 1Z0-047 as a support for this certification?
    3) Would I be considered for job openings if I get certified? (I mean the frequency of jobs). I know it is hard to answer this question, however I want an idea of applying for certified related jobs that accept OCA.
Please advice me in this regard.
    Thanks in advance
    Murli

Please post any other certification-related questions in the forum: Oracle Certification Program
To become OCA you need to do the 1z0-042 exam and one of the following exams: 1z0-007, 1z0-051, 1z0-047.
Becoming certified will put you in front of many people, but what employers are mostly looking for is experience. Many companies require a certification for the person to be even eligible for the interview, others use it as a differential.

  • Regarding Variable Proc. Typ REPLACEMENT PATH

    HI EXPERTS,
CAN ANY ONE EXPLAIN HOW THE REPLACEMENT PATH VARIABLE TYPE HELPS IN REPORTS AND IN WHT SENARIOS WE CAN USE. PLZ EXPLAIN THIS WTH AN EXAPLE.
    REGARDS
    RAMAKRISHNA K

    Hi Ramakrishna,
just go throw the below description.
    Replacement Path
    Use
You use the Replacement Path processing type to specify the value that automatically replaces the variable when you execute the query or Web application.
    Integration
The processing type Replacement Path can be used with characteristic value variables, text variables and formula variables.
    Features
    The following options are available:
    Replace with Characteristic Value
Text and formula variables with the processing type Replacement Path can be replaced with a corresponding characteristic value. In the variables editor, on the General tab page under Reference Characteristic, specify the characteristic that is to be referenced by the replacement. In the Replacement Path tab page, you can choose whether the variable is replaced with the From or the To Value and with the Key or the Name of the characteristic value. You can also specify the Offset Start and Offset Length for the output.
    Replace with Query
Characteristic value variables with the processing type Replacement Path are replaced with the results of a query. In the variables editor, on the Replacement Path tab page, select the query whose result you want to use as the variable. You can now process the data result of the selected query as a variable in a different query.
    Replace with Variable
Characteristic value variables, hierarchy variables, text variables and formula variables with the Replacement Path processing type can get their values from a different variable.
The following prerequisites need to be fulfilled:
    Variable
    ●     The variable must not be input ready
    ●     The variable must represent a single value
    Source variable
    ●     The source variable must not be a hierarchy node variable
    ●     The source variable must be input ready
    ●     The source variable must be available in the query
    ●     The source variable must represent a single value or an interval
In the variables editor, on the Replacement Path tab page, specify the source variable from which the value is to be determined. The value is either determined from the key, the external attribute of the key, the description, or the attribute value. You can specify an Offset Start and an Offset Length for the output here.
The variable is replaced on the variables screen upon each data release.
    Activities
In the variables editor, on the General tab page, choose the processing type Replacement Path.
    Example
If you specify a variable as a characteristic value, you do not have to give a text for the characteristic value right away. Instead, you can fill the text field dynamically, according to the characteristic that you use for the variable when you execute the query. To do this, define a text variable with automatic replacement.

  • Replacement Path for Chaging the Field Names

    Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement to build a query containing 31 columns say day1,day2u2026.
The Report should display the fields as 1-Sep-2008.2-Sep-2008 and so on, when the query is executed in the month of September.
The same query executed in the month of October should display the fields as 1-Oct-2008,2-Oct-2008 and so onu2026.
I guess this can be achieved using the Replacement path.
Is that correct? If yes, Please let me know how to achieve this.
    Awaiting  possible  solutions.

    DVAPrasad.
Edited by: Veeranjaneya Prasad on Sep 22, 2008 8:51 AM

    Hi DVAPrasad,
You can have the epected results using text variable for the columns headings.
For that you need to create a text variable which will take up a value according to month selected. If you are using 0month characteristic to select the month, then you will require a text variable using customer exit as in 0month the values for the month are stored in the '09' , '10',  etc format.
Here you will have to write logic as when its '09' take value as 'sept' and when its '10' take value as 'oct'.
If you are using a custom characteristic for month which stores values for the month as 'sept' , 'oct' etc then you can use replacement path variable.
I hope this satisfies you query completely.

  • REPLACEMENT PATH IN THE VARIABLES

    Hi All,
I am working on the reports part n i had requirement to create the query using the replacement path processing type in the variables. can any body guide me y n when v go for this n what r the steps to follow.
    thanks & regards

    HI Priya,

  • Query Variable - Replacement Path

    Hi all,
I would need to fill a query variable (based on calendar week characteristic) with specific list of values. I need all calendar weeks that are present in infocube, but only if key-figure > 0. So I've created a query with cal. weeks in rows and with suppressed zero rows. Output values from query contains exactly what I need.
Than I created a variable (replacement path) with reference to mentioned query. But it seems to me that the variable does not contain all values displayed in the query, but only filtered values (if I use some restriction of cal. week).
Is it possible to achieve this using replacement path at all?
If not I would appreciate any idea or experiences how to accomplish this requirement.
    Many thanks,
    regards,
    Pavel

Hi Pavel, I didn't get your requirement 100% . Still, I would like to tell How Replacement path works.
First of all for the Source query you have given condition to restict the output of the query on particular keyfigure value > 0 ......  Right.
Now on second query, you have created the Characteristic variable with Replacement path....here some important things to look at.
while creating the variable, select Processing Type as REPLACEMENT PATH, then in the "Replacement path" Tab,  give Replaced variable with.. "Query" ...and at bottom, For QUERY give the query name.
If u want RRI facility from Source Query to Target Query, then u give RRI Connection in T-Code : RSBBS....
...and now when u execute the Second Query, First the first Query will be executed and those filtered values > 0 will be passed to the Second Query's variable input...then the second query will be executed...
But, in your case check once again all settings in Variable in Second Query..and Conditions block in First Query..
    It should definitely work...

  • Inventory Report-Replacement path for Base UOM to Case and Standrad Cost

Hi, We have a Scenario as below:
    Question1:
We have a multiprovider contains 4 infocubes and 2 Master Data objects
    a.Demand
    b.Inventory
    c.Sales Orders
    d.In Transit
    Master Data objects
    a. Material (contains Base UOM to Case as Key Figure Attribute and also Base UOM as an attribute)
    b. Material Location (Contains material as an attribute and also Standard Cost as a Key Figure attribute)
At the report level two formula variables are defined with replacement path for showing the Base UOM to Case and Standard Cost in columns.
We have 4 reports on this multiprovider. There is a dialy sales report which gives the following details
Material, Location, MRP Controller, CalDay, Base UOM, Actual Sales(AS), Dependent Demand(DD), Consumption Qyt(CQ), Base to Case UOM, Standard Cost
In this report for all the records the Base to UOM and Standard Cost column is coming with values which is nothing but the replacement path on the material master key figure attribute. Though this report is on the multiprovider all the major keyfigures (AS, DD and CQ) are coming from a single cube( this is an observation from myside).
We have another report which is the Inventory Report with the following details:
Material, Location, MRP Controllder, Calday, Base UOM,      Unrestricted Inventory(UI), committed Inventory(CI), Back Order Qty(BOQ), In Transit by Sh/Rec(ITS), In Transit Pipeline(ITP), On Order Qty (OOQ), Current Inventory Position (CIP), Quality Inspection Stock(QIS), Block Stock(BS), Base to Case UOM, Standard Cost
Now in this report for all the records the Base to Case UOM and standrad cost is not showing up. Is there anything which needs to be done in order to get the Base to Case UOM and standard cost for all the records.
    Question2:
When Non-Cumulative and Cumulative key figures are combined at the multi provider and also at the report level, will there be any problem?
    Regards
    Vijay

    Hi,
I think you can proceed with virtual characteristics for this.In the code you can truncate the time and you can display on the date:

  • Formula Variable with replacement path on 0CALDAY

    Hi,
I am trying to enhance an existing query.
I am creating a new formula variable processing by replacement path.
In Reference Characterisitic I have choosen 0CALDAY.
In the tab options , I selected replacement path.
In the replacement path tab, in Replacement Rule /replace variable with I am trying to select the variable. But in the variable list I am not able to find 0CALDAY variable, which we have already created and restricting in some other key figures.
Please help me in this regard.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Madhav

Hey in the replacement path tab you need to choose either its infoobject or variable from which the value needs to be taken.
If you choose infoobject you get the options of choosing its attributes etc.
If you choose variable you get option to choose variable associated.
But under "General Tab" under reference characteristic you need to choose your CALDAY.
    Hope this helps.

  • Issue - Formula Variable with Replacement Path

    Hi,
Is it mandatory to include the base characteristics in the rows on which the formula variable(replacement path) is based on. As long as the base char is in the rows the variable works fine. The moment I take that off, the variable doesn't produce any result. I know the char can be put in the rows and can be hidden, but then in that case I don't get the desired aggregation level.
Has anybody come across this probelm and managed to sort this out? Kindly suggest any solution.
    Thanks,
    Anurag.

    Hi,
a formula variable with replacement path only works if the replacement object is in the query in either the rows or colums. The data can never be aggregated on a higher level then the infoObject in the replacement path. If you want a higher aggregation you can add a new key figure as an attribute to your infoObject and fill it with the value you want in the loading process. You can use that key figure in your queries every way you want.
    Kind regards,
    Alex

  • Averages in a query using a variable with Replacement Path: Replacement wit

I have two queries. Query1 has a handful of characteristics, one of which is used in a formula where I used replacement path in order to be able to use it in some calculated key figures. I also have a couple of key figures that are not calculated and they are averages.
The second query has a characteristic value variable that is replaced with the first query. This replacement value variable is placed into the filter section and the characteristic itself is placed in the rows section. I am bringing in the same calculated key figures that were in my first query as well as the normal key figures that are averages.
The issue I am having is the regular key figures that I am bringing in are coming in summed up instead of as averages. Is it possible to bring the normal key figures in Query1 as averages into Query2?
There is more information in the thread below if you need more background.

    PS - I am using 7.0.

    Hi Satyakam,
In the text variable properties make sure that in the replacment path you have chosen "Text" to appear date as per user setting . Other wise as in your case it must be set to "Key" which always shows in the format YYYYMMDD.
    Hope that helps.

  • Issue with Using Replacement path to pass values after condition in BI 7.0

    Hi All,
I am using a replacement path variable in a query (Query 2) which is populated from another query (Query 1).
Query 1 has a condition based on formula variables which works fine when I run Query 1 separately. It filters to display only entries that satisfy the condition (from 6 entries to 5 after condition).
But the replacement path variable in Query 2 is getting populated with all the 6 values from Query 1 irrespective of the condition. I need only the filtered/valid records (5 records) to be passed..
Does anyone have this issue? System seems to ignore the condition altogether.
As a test, I changed the condition in Query 1 to TOP 2 entries. Only 2 entries showed up in Query 1. However, Query 2 contained 6 entries (initial list before condition).
My condition setting in Query1 is set to "Most Detailed Characteristic Along the Rows".
I am on BI 7.0 Support Pack 20. Is this a BI 7.0 issue?

    Hi,
Your 1st query brings all the rows and just applies condition on front end / Analyzer for display purpose.
If you check Over All Result it will show data for all 6 rows even.
If you want to see proper result on analyzer you must have to set the properties -Calculations-Calculate Result As- Summation or Sum.
I donu2019t think condition will help you to filter the number of rows and use as input query. It will work on analyzer only. Try to apply the condition on your final query (2nd query).

    Jd
