Regarding Time Lapes in CS5

I have a few questions that I hope can be answered here.  The first is:  When starting a new Sequence what do you choose if you are making a time lapes?  I don't see anything that lends it self to it.  I've just been choosing DSRL 720p24 and it seems to work.  Another problem I'vee been having is how do you lock all  your images together if you want to move them?  Like for instace if you don't want it centered?  I did one of the sea but the sea is cut off on the bottom, I selected all and moved the frame down but only moves the one frame I am on.  Finally, what about encoding?  If I want to encode it as a quicktime file what are the settings?

I did a bunch of timelapse testing with a Canon 1DmkIV this summer when making this home movie:  http://www.vimeo.com/14647401
This is my workflow:
Record each timelapse sequence to it's own folder on the card in-camera.
Open the first image of the sequence in Adobe RAW using Bridge.  Apply any colour correction/image manipulation in RAW as well as cropping the image to the ASPECT (not resolution) that I want to work on (in my case 16:9).
In Bridge, right click the image you've manipulated, copy the RAW settings and then apply them to the rest of the images in the sequence (all these changes are non destructive, it's all just been metadata up until now). At this point I archive the original files to BluRay ROM so the new metadata is archived along with the image.
Once the settings are applied, drag the files to EXPORT TO DISK in Bridge and set the resolution for export (in my case 1920x1080) with maximum quality.
Last step is to open Quicktime Pro, open the image sequence and save it as a QT movie.  At this point you set your frame rate (in my case 23.976).  From this point I drop the QT's into a Premiere bin.
It is possible to open a series of still photos in Premiere as sequencial images and skip the Quicktime step but my RAID starts chugging when I do this (5 disk, RAID-0 that plays back 4K R3D and 220Mb/s HD MXF's without a problem).  For $20 it was worth the upgrade to QT Pro and the extra step saves a lot of grief later.
This is just my workflow, not the bible on how to do it.  Hope it helps.

  • How do I save a photo sequence (time lap) in HD 1080p?

    I made a time lap in iMovie and then brought the project to final cut x for fine tuning.
    after that, I can't find a way to render my movie at 1080p res even when I choose AppleProRes format.
    In iMovie it's easy, i just need to choose export as 1080p HD movie and done!
    What Shell I do?
    Thanks for the help!

    FCP X is not iMovie.  FCP X assumes your Timeline is the resolution you plan to output.  It seems your Project is smaller than 1080, which means output to 1080 will cause you to lose resolution and look bad.  Use Compressor to up-rez footage.  You'll still lose resolution, but you'll lose less resolution.

  • Run time error in CS5

    I have a run time error in CS5. Not the trial version !
    I desinstalled and reinstalled Photoshop and the error ist still here.
    The application did work fine for a couple of days and suddenly the error appeared.
    Other applications like Lightroom work fine.
    I am running on Windows 7 64 bits. The 32 bit CS5 application has the same run-time error.
    What should I do ?
    Thanks for help.

    Look in Windows 7 event viewer for the runtime hit. The error will be listed there in more detail.
    Also you can run the troubleshooting software built in windows 7.
    You can also run the windows 7 system file checker in a elevated command prompt. Type in sfc /scannow and let it run. 99.9 percent of the time the command will find the error and fix it.

  • Dots on screen instread of time laps bar

    I've had my ipod namo for 5 months now and it has worked fine. I turned on my ipod the other day and i notesed that the volume bar or the time laps bar was not showing. Instead only 5 hollow white dots apear. I can still adjust the volume and track scroll but i cant see the levels or time. Anyone have any suggestions or the same problem? Thanks so much.
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    The five dots is the rating screen. You should be able to use the center button to scroll through the various screens. However, there is a known issue with the latest updater 1.1 that causes the screen to get stuck on ratings.

  • Some question regarding time evaluation

    Hello,
    I have two questions regarding time evaluation:
    1. Is it possible (if yes, how) to still include a employee in time evaluation even if this employee is inactive (status P0000-STAT2 = 0). We need this in order to calculate weeks of not working (this has to be calculated). I know that for payroll this is possible wih a setting in infotype 0003.
    2. Is it possible (and how) to read data back from payroll into time. For example in payroll you export something to ZL table, can you then pick this up in time evaluation schema, as there is also ZL table. Or is there another way to do this?
    Thanks for you answers,
    Liesbeth

    hi Schrage
    Why you want to evaluate the time for inactive person.
    If you want you can do.
    Process :
    First of all you have to group your employees. and sub groups.( for inactive emp)
    Assign the employee sub group grouping for PCR in Basic Pay ( IMG ).
    Then come to Time Evaluation Schema. Put the Day grouping nn nn nn nn in the Parameters. and run the time evaluation. You will get the output in DZL table.
    For the above process you need to configure the T510S table.
    Yes you can read the payroll into time.
    the same concept will run in both of the modules.
    the output should appear in the ZL table only.
    Here the concept is.....Some companies, they will not use the payroll wage types. only they will use the time wage types.. these wage types has to be configure in the T510S. and we have to do the wage type copying from the part of time management only if they are not using the payroll. So either in Payroll or in Time management the evaluation of time willbe the same.
    Cheers

  • Question - Downloading Time for contribute CS5 for Mac

    Yes,  I followed the steps in email to download Contribute CS5 for Mac.
    It has been 1 hour.  How much time does it take. I have not typed in lisence key yet
    Thank you

    It depends on the speed of your Internet connection.  The download is only the first phase you will still need to install the software.  During the installation process you will be prompted to enter your license key/serial number.

    Hi
    In time related infotypes records are multiple  for a single pernr
    say for example LEAVES
    within a time  for PERNR you will find different types of leaves
    go and see the infotypes data practically PA2001 and PA2005, r etc
    see the sample report on time related data

  • Active directory issue regarding time (DST) - Cant bind any Macs to 2000 AD

    I am working with a new server at a small mostly Windows based school district. I am here to do a small AD/OD integration with nothing out of the normal. They are using Windows 2000 server and 10.4.11 with all the current software updates. I tested binding to their AD several months back and it ran without a hitch. Now, today when I attempted to bind their new Intel Xserve running 10.4.11 to their AD, it fails yielding the "Active directory only permits slight variations between the clocks..." error message.
    I have seen this before and the message has always been very descriptive in describing the problem (time is off on one end or the other). The issue here is that the machines are all running within a second or two of each other. I verified this my self several times on all the AD servers, each mac client and the mac server. I also checked other normal pitfalls and could not find anything. I can reproduce this error on 10.4.11 server, 10.4.11 client and 10.5.2 client (my laptop) so its not any specific install of OS X, its something in AD.
    Is there any chance that this has something to do with the recent changes to daylight savings time? The on-staff admin at the district manually moved the time ahead one hour on Monday morning to bring the windows system up to the current time. As I stated before, this district uses 2000 server. MS does not support 2000 any more and has not issued any updates regarding the recent daylight savings time changes. I have done a ton of searching and I have not been able to find any other mention of such an issue as I would assume that it would be rather wide spread.
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi
    You can extend the time difference from the default 5 minutes to 10 minutes. This is done on the AD Server either using the GMM or the DMM. This might help with the issue you are seeing.
    Failing that you could point the AD to an internet based time server along with everything else on the network OR make everything on the network use the AD as the time server.
    Apologies if you have already tried this, Tony

  • Doubts regarding Time Series Measures

    Hi,
    In my instance i have two calendars
    1) Enterprise(or) Fiscal Calendar (Aug to July)
    2) Gregorian Calendar (Jan to Dec).
    So now my question is if we apply To Date function using Both Calendars how will it work.
    For ex: If i create an Year To Date function using Gregorian Calendar then it will fetch results from Jan 1st to Till Date. And same if i used Enterprise Calendar then it will fetch results from Aug 1st to Till Date.
    Is my above understanding correct. Correct me if am wrong any where.
    And now i have one more requirement, My client wants to change the dates in the calendar i mean for Fiscal Calendar they dont want from (Aug to July) but From (Dec to Dec) is this possible, if so please clarify how and where..
    Help is greatly appreciated.

    Raj,
    For your requirement I wrote a procedure in which for the date '01-jan-2010' it converts to the financial year of '26-Dec-2009' and the same is updated inside your calendar_table in the column fis_dat based on which you can easily find your fiscal_year, month and so on. The same can be much simplified and i ll update if find time.... Check and revert me back.
    Create or replace procedure fin_cal
    as
    begin
    DECLARE
    temp_date date;
    fisc_date date;
    temp_fisc_date date;
    previous_date date;
    pre_year int;
    year_date int;
    cursor c1 is select trunc(date_time) from dates1 where time_key >= 20100101 and time_key <= 20120101 order by trunc(date_time); // calculated from 1st jan 2010 -2012
    begin
    open c1;
    loop
    fetch c1 into temp_date;
    exit when c1%notfound;
    year_date:=to_number(to_char(to_date(temp_date,'dd-mm-yy'),'yyyy'));
    pre_year:=year_date-1;
    if to_char(temp_date,'dd')='01' and to_char(temp_date,'mm')='01' then
    fisc_date:=to_date(pre_year||'12-24','YYYY-MM-DD'); // the initial date is 24-12-prioryear...
    dbms_output.put_line(fisc_date);
    update dates1 set fis_dat=fisc_date where trunc(date_time)= trunc(temp_date);//fis_dat is the column in the table
    else
    select fis_dat into previous_date from dates1 where trunc(date_time)=trunc(temp_date)-1;
    temp_fisc_date:=TO_DATE(TO_CHAR(previous_date,'YYYY-MM-DD'),'YYYY-MM-DD') + 1;
    update dates1 set fis_dat=temp_fisc_date where trunc(date_time)= trunc(temp_date);
    temp_fisc_date:='';
    end if;
    end loop;
    end;
    end;
    begin
    fin_cal();
    end;

  • Saving time from encore CS5 to long

    hi Folks,
    the time to save a encore CS5  project is far to long, some time over 20 minutes for only few changes.
    aswell I have a very poor performance when I use the text tool, by typing and moving objects occures a delay up to few seconds, unable to import and edit longer text passage in a reasonable time,
    my workstation is preety fast (I got now problem for example with complex HD premiere or after effects projects)
    any one knows if there are system settings in windows 7 what could cause this problem in encore CS5?
    my system:  windows 7, 64bit  /  intel(R) Core(TM) 2Quad CPU Q9550 2,9GHz  /  8GB Ram  /  NVIDA GeForce GTX285  / raid system for harddrive seagate barracuda 2x1TB
    thanks a lot...

    Yes, that seems slow. I don't know of any system tuning for Encore specifically.
    Go to the PPBM5 benchmarks and see whether you have any weaknesses that might contribute. I found significant differences moving from 6Gig RAM to 12 to 24. But even with 6 I did not have the issues you're describing.

  • Time lapse problems CS5

    I've been having a go at a few time lapse movies using Photoshop CS5 on the Mac.
    I have kind of 2 linked queries:
    1) The easy way to make a movie is to use file>open and choose a batch of photos while ticking Image Sequence. However this doesn't seem to offer the option to reverse the frames which is quite important.
    2) The other way I found on the web is to use a stack. I'm not entirely clear what the benefits are this way although it does allow me to reverse.
    However if I go to Document Settings and change the frame rate, it doesn't seem to affect the length of the movie, whereas method 1) does invite you to set the frame rate at startup and this affects the overall length of the movie.
    Thanks in advance for any comments.

    Welcome to the forum.
    When Still Images show as black, the first things that I investigate is the pixel x pixel dimensions of the images. With many Stills, even if they are within the allowed pixel x pixel range, one's computer's resources can be used up, and an alternate workflow might be useful - Scale the Images to match the Frame Size of the Sequence, prior to Import, in a program, like Photoshop. This ARTICLE might be helpful.
    The second thought is that the video driver is no longer performing properly, and needs to be updated. What is make/model of your graphics card, and what is the current number/date of your installed video driver?
    Good luck,

  • Project Analytics (PA) Specific Question regarding Time Dimensions

    Hello PA experts, i am having a difficult time distinguishing between all date options we are presented in PA Answers.
    I see GL Cal, Enterprise Cal, Project Cal and then i see additional Secondary Dates listed as Accrued / Released Date.
    What i am looking for is something basic but not sure which is the right date.
    I need the date when certain invoices were created / hours were entered into our PA system.
    I have brought in all these dates to see which one makes sense but at this point, they all have various dates.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,

    Probably the best way to work this out would be to refer to the OBIA 7.9.6 Data Lineage Worksheet available on metalink, which will show you which EBS date fields the OBIA Model Date columns refer to. I find this is a lot easier than viewing the mappings in Informatica,(although still go in there to confirm) It may be that you need to map this extra date column into the model if its not already there.

    Hi,
    The sequence can be the exactly in the same way as you have mentioned.
    For Set-up time:
    First select the Set-up Start radio button.
    Now if you have Set-up Interruption then select the " Interrrupt Setup" Button.
    If you want to start the set-up again then select the " Set-up Start" again.It will auto-confirm the interruption finish when you use the radio button "Start setup".
    Finally you have to select the radio-button " Set-up Finished" so that Set-up time is completed.
    Now the same-way for Process Time.
    "Please come back with proficient comments". Hope I'am proficient enough with the reply.
    Best Regards.
