Regions: created at runtime?

Hi,
I am a complete newbie in Application Express but it looks as it is fairly easy to grasp... I do however have a project in mind for which I would like to use HTML DB but not sure if the result I've been trying to obtain is even possible...
The general idea is this: I have projects with X number of tasks. Upon pressing a certain project I would like to display all related tasks each in different region. Since I do not now how many tasks there will be in a given project I need the ability to create regions at "runtime"... Is this possible at all?
Just to give a wider view on the project: The idea is that each task will be an html page with a check box on top. When a user clicks on a checkbox this will be interpreted as "completed task" and next time the task will not be displayed. The main thing here is that a task will include record which will be an HTML page...
I really like the sand template and the idea of having each task in a separate region therefore spitting out simple report with all tasks in rows on one region is something which I would prefer to avoid.
Many thanks for any advises and ideas!
Pawel.

Can you go into a little more detail in what you are talking about?

  • How to change a labels text which created at runtime?

    hi,
    i am creating label controls in runtime dynamically and adding them to a group component. this group component is in another custom component and i have lots of custom comp. in my app.
    my question is how can access (via id) and change a labels text whict created at runtime?
    i can change like this but i am setting id's and want to reach via id.
    var lbl:mx.controls.Label = mx.controls.Label(subMenu5.group_subMenu5.getElementAt(1));
    lbl.text = "good job";
    thank you, have a good day.

    First off, if you are already using a Spark Group, I would suggest you use a Spark Label instead of an MX Label. If you want to reference the Labels from the group, loop through the group's elements and check the if the element id matches the Label you want to assign text to.
    var lbl:Label;
    var n:int = myGroup.numElements;
    for (var i:int = 0; i < n; i++)
         lbl = myGroup.getElementAt(i) as Label;
         if (lbl && lbl.id == "myLabel")
              lbl.text = "newText";

  • How do I create a runtime library reference from a J2EE library DC?

    I've created a J2EE library DC that references some classes in an already deployed library.  The referenced jar file has been correctly deployed, as it's successfully used by some other components.  I can build the DC, since I've created created a compile-time reference to the local copy of the target jar file.
    Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to create a runtime reference from my J2EE library to the already deployed library - there just doesn't appear to be any place to put the reference, at least using a gui-based function in NWDS.  Unlike WebDynpro, which has a 'references' configuration option, J2EE lib's don't appear to have anything similar.
    Where/How can I do this?
    BTW, the Visual Administrator function 'ClassLoader Viewer ' is a very handy tool for diagnosing ClassDefNotFoundError errors....

    Hello Ken,
    well it seems to be not a trivial thing.
    1) Build your library DC.
    2) Create folder "server" in root DC folder "_comp".
    3) Extract provider.xml from generated SDA file to "server" folder.
    4) Add references in provider.xml:
        <references>
          <reference type="library" strength="weak">
            sapxmltoolkit
          </reference>
          <reference type="library" strength="weak">
            com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient
          </reference>
          <reference type="service" strength="weak">
            tc~sec~securestorage~service
          </reference>
        </references>
    5) Rebuild DC. Deploy.
    6) Enjoy!

  • How to create a runtime repos in 10gR2

    Can anyone guide me through creating a runtime repository, access user and target schema(s)?
    We have a DESIGN REPOS, but would also like a repos on the target database for deploying to.
    I believe that there is no longer a RUNTIME ASSISTANT from release 2 onwards.

    Quotation from OWB installation and administration guide ("server component" marked with bold by me):
    "The Control Center Service is the Warehouse Builder server component that governs the deployment of objects to target schemas. Most commonly, as shown in Figure 1-2, the Control Center Service can be installed on the machines hosting the target schemas."
    It seems that writers forget about running of objects (control center is needed for running mappings and process flows). So I highly recommend you to install OWB software on server. BUT you don't need install OWB on ALL your servers, because OWB support remote runtime environment (but I have never used it):

  • Outlook controls in custom form region created in Visual Stdio 2010

    Hi,
    Is it possible to use all the outlook controls (e.g. Body control, Send button) in custom form region created in Visual studio.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
    Which control you are not able to use? Based on my understanding, there are two ways to custom the form region in Outlook.
    First is creating a new form region by using the wizard. The second is importing a form region designed in Outlook.
    In the second secnario, we can use add native Outlook controls to the form region. Native Outlook controls enable you to bind to Outlook data at design time. However, you cannot then use the form region designer to add managed controls or change the design
    of the form region.
    You can get more detail about this topic form link below:

  • Environment of process created by Runtime.exec()

    Can anyone describe the interactions of the process environment created by Runtime.exec()?
    For example, if Runtime.exec() is used as follows:
    Runtime.exec("cmd /K somebatfile");
    Is the environment preserved throughout the execution of somebatfile?
    Rather, if the classpath, working directory, etc. is changed within "somebatfile" are those changes still preserved by the cmd shell if it is executed this way from Runtime?

    That is the way I thought things worked. Thanx.
    However, when I start my command script inside of a shell (with "cmd /K") I get a "file not found" error. The command generating the error is a java call loading a executable jar which uses jni to open sockets and I have no Idea what else. (I know about the sockets because of the failed socket messages that are generated after the file not found error). The source code for the launched application is not available.
    If you can provide some other insight I would appreciate it.

  • Create on runtime a xml stylesheet

    Hi Sebastian,
      Check out the code below. May be of some help to you.
    Here a successful implementation of Function module "SAP_CONVERT_TO_XML_FORMAT" for users of SAP 46c. It converts an internal table to an xml-table and downloads it.
    This code needs 3 variables: FILENAME, XML-document-Name DOC_NAME(freetext) and the internal table (TAB) which you want to convert to XML.

  • DataGrid - Create at runtime - How to Add Items??

    I create a DataGrid at runtime and then and columns to it as need be. How Can I add items with the correct dataField if I don't if I don;t know this till runtime? In other word I'm having trouble constructing the Object to send to AddItem becase the dataField Name needs to be hard coded...
    Below does not work for me because if I have more than one column then I can seem to figure out out to create  ItemObjFinal dynnamically.
    var ItemObjFinal:Object = {ThisNameNeedsToBeDynamic: "text", ThisNameNeedsToBeDynamic: "value" };
    I also tried creating an array of Objects like this:
    var ItemObjFinal:Object = new Object;
    var obj:Object= dgc.dataField;
    ItemObjFinal [0] = {(obj.valueOf()):  dgc.headerText };
    ItemObjFinal [1] = {(obj.valueOf()):  dgc.headerText };
    =========================================================================================
                  ac.addItemAt(dgc, int(ac.length));
                  dataGrid_preview.columns = ac.toArray();
                  var obj:Object= dgc.dataField;
                  var ItemObjFinal:Object = {(obj.valueOf()):  dgc.headerText };
                  var obj2:Object= dgc.dataField;
                  var ItemObjFinal2:Object = {(obj2.valueOf()): dgc.headerText};
                  //K Now add it!
                  //IList(dataGrid_preview.dataProvider).removeAll();
                  IList(dataGrid_preview.dataProvider).addItemAt(ItemObjFinal,0);
                 //IList(dataGrid_preview.dataProvider).addItemAt(ItemObjFinal2,1);

    Ahh answered my own question:
                 ac.addItemAt(dgc, int(ac.length));
                  dataGrid_preview.columns = ac.toArray();
                  var ItemObjFinal:Object = new Object;
                  var ItemObjFinal2:Object = new Object;
                  for each(var col:DataGridColumn in ac)
                    ItemObjFinal[col.dataField] = col.headerText;
                    ItemObjFinal2[col.dataField] = col.headerText;
                  ItemObjFinal[dgc.dataField] = dgc.headerText;
                  ItemObjFinal2[dgc.dataField] = dgc.headerText;
                  //K Now add it!
                  if(IList(dataGrid_preview.dataProvider).length > 1)
                      IList(dataGrid_preview.dataProvider).removeItemAt(0);
                      IList(dataGrid_preview.dataProvider).removeItemAt(1);
                  IList(dataGrid_preview.dataProvider).addItemAt(ItemObjFinal,0);
                  IList(dataGrid_preview.dataProvider).addItemAt(ItemObjFinal2,1);
    This code may still need some tweaking as I get an RTE at  "IList(dataGrid_preview.dataProvider).removeItemAt(1);"   but at least I'm able to solve my original question. Thanks Alex!

  • Adding text to editable region creates space in the rest of my layout

    I created my layout in PS, sliced the images and then imported to DW (html and images).
    Layout looks great.
    I created editable regions in the template I created from the .html
    One I start inserting text into these regions, my container moves and it throws the rest of the layout off by adding space between the editable region and the area above it (a big black line horizontally through the page).
    Is there a way to keep the container/editable region from moving or growing with the text so that it doesn't change my layout?
    On a side note, this change doesn't appear in live view. When I preview in browser, Safari layout looks great, but text doesn't appear. In firefox, text appears, but layout is a mess.
    Here is the code from the editable region to which I am trying to add text:
    <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="main_content_area" -->
            <div id="site_layout_contentmain">Content for  id "site_layout_contentmain" Goes Here</div>
          <!-- TemplateEndEditable --></td>
    ANY help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!!

    Yes, the design is appearing to pull apart when I add content, but only in the Firefox preview.
    If it pulls apart in Firefox, chances are it pulls apart in all browsers when text size is increased.
    The problem with Photoshop code is that it is a) rigid, b) unstable and c) invalid.
    To illustrate, run your code through the on-line validation tools below.
    CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
    HTML - http://validator.w3.org/
    Photoshop is OK for designing quick comps to show the client but they won't hold up on a real site.
    IMO, the benefits of starting over far outweigh the inconvenience.

    You are missing a closing parens. You have :
    if(type = "Return")
    FlightServiceClient client = new FlightServiceClient(ServerFlightServiceURL);
    ArrayList list = client.getFlight(arr, des, FDat, TDat, type, clas, adult, child);
    Iterator it = list.iterator();
    while (it.hasNext()){Which opens two parens but you only have one closing parens
    </tr>
    <%
    %>
    </table>
