Register a DLL? or some other problem?

I have an app written in C# that I have copied out to several 32 bit machines. It works fine. We just started rolling out some 64 bit machines. I installed sql developer on that machine and we struggled a bit, but finally got it working fine. Then, I installed my app. When it runs, and tries to connect to Oracle, the error is "Type initializer for 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection' threw an exception.
I am wondering if I need to register a dll? If so, I don't know which one? We have tried updating everything we could find. All machines have .NET 4.5 running. I think I need to hook Oracle to Windows?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It'd be helpful to know what the exception being thrown is (would be the InnerException of the one you're catching), but it's most likely a problem with the bit-ness of the application. If the compiler is set to AnyCPU (and it is by default), on the 64 bit machine you'll need a 64 bit version of the Oracle client. If you set it to x86, then you'll need a 32 bit Oracle client on all the machines (including the 64 bit ones).
Just registering a DLL won't be enough to solve this unless you're using the managed client beta, in which case you could do that or add the necessary entries into the app config file (and not have to register anything).

I had her change her password via the kpasswd command in terminal and that changed her password on the server sucessfully however the laptop has FileVault on it. Filevault is not recognizing the new password just the old password.
I have deleted the keychain which didn't resolve and now I am going to decrypt and reencrypt the drive. I'm hoping this is an isolated issue I have over 25 laptops configured like this.

I "think" the trick was unbinding and rebinding the computer account.
After unencrypting and trying to reencrypt Filevault would still not take the new password.
Rebooted the prompt to update the keychain appeared. Updated the keychain. Filevault would still not take the new password.
Unbinded and rebinded the computer account. It worked and let me add the user to filevault.

I'm in the middle of building a website in Flash CS4 in Action Script 3.0 and (according my the tutorial I'm using) I need to access the "parameters" panel. The problem is I don't see it anywhere. I see "properties" and "filters" but to parameters. I've cycled through all the workspace presets but with no luck. How can I bring it up??
Also, even though I used the "stop();" code in the beginning of my actions frame my movie just keeps looping when I test it. What am I doing wrong?

to see the parameters panel drag a component (like the flvplayback component) onto the stage. a parameters panel should appear.
if you have no compiler errors and your swf plays past a stop(), you have other code that's executing after the stop() causing your timeline to advance.

Is there a way I can turn off this notification for Printer updates until it is resolved? It is pretty annoying.

A contract-free phone is not the same thing as an unlocked phone.
If you purchase it through a carrier, it will very likely be locked to that carrier.
In the US, Apple stores, and only Apple stores, sell unlocked phones. The same may hold true in Canada.
Also keep in mind that warranty service will only be available in the country where you purchased the phone (Canada) and you will have to either send it to a friend/family member to get it repaired or make the trip yourself. Apple will not accept a shipment from outside the country of purchase.
Finally, while an iPhone from one country will generally work anywhere in the world, you may find that you do not get 4G speeds/full compatibility with a network outside of the country of purchase.

There isn't any one specific thing. Just use your PowerBook normally. Amongst other things, don't knock/drop the PB whilst it is saving/opening files or starting up. Try to use it on a level surface - don't rest it on cushions, blankets, beds etc.

Sounds like the internal PRAM battery might be dead. It needs to be replaced. If you are still under warranty then Apple will replace it. If the warranty has expired, try an Apple Authorised Service Provider.

The AHT is included with your PowerBook's original discs. If you only received a single DVD, then the AHT is accessed by restarting with the DVD inserted and, after the startup chime, press the 'alt' key until you see a screen with some icons in the middle (one of which will be the AHT).

Overheating problem with Pavilion dv7-1464nr and some other problems

My laptop has always been very hot on bottom left upper side and blows hot air out the back, it has blistered my leg twice. I even use a dual cooling fan pad. I have had the power supply replaced through warranty once and the second one has already burned up too. I purchased one at Wal-Mart that cost me over $100, was on vacation and I need laptop for Garmin GPS, I even purchased a 1000 watt converter hardwired to a diesel truck for better performance, power supply is still hot but working. Laptop is now overheating to the point of shutting down and the fan has always run at highest speed which is very loud and annoying. I only have 20 days left on warranty, suggestions.
I also have trouble with the top touch control bar on keyboard not working, sometimes it does sometimes not and the left key on mouse has never worked right, usually have to click it two or three time for it to work. Also have one USB port that broke, when I unplugged a USB cord the part that it insert into came out with it in the cord. I have had to tape my battery so it will stay in, I think the Iocking switch has a broken piece, had it 3 months when this happened but decided to wait to see if anything else went wrong!!

OMG......this could have been my post right down to the burned body part (my belly). I also bought the cooling pad and new power supply. My laptop also shuts down all the time. After upgrading to Lion 10.7.1 - iPhoto and other programs slow to open and other problems

Am I alone - having lots of problems with 10.7.1. iPhoto is slow and when I export photos it exists iphoto then I restart and sometimes it will works. Safari is slower also. Sometimes it justs hangs and I have to force quit. iTunes is also slower to open. Almost everytime it goes to a checking library for a long time.
Should I go back to previous version? Will I lose my purchase. I do not have disks for the upgrade. I do not want to go back - I have a lot of data and always fear of losing it.
Think Apple knows about the problems or am I the only one and have some other problem?

Authorization seems to be the hangup here. But instead of dealing with the complications of conflicts in authorization, which might take several weeks to months to iron out - site by site - I urge you to follow a different path.
It looks like you're using Chrome. For this site alone, use either Safari or Firefox, both of which are more likely to have plugins to deal with authorizing your site. Safari is already on your computer, but v.3 of Firefox is stable, too. Frankly, I can't tell you what specifically might be the problem here; but switching browsers will solve the immediate problem.

Have to force quit dreamweaver amongst other problems

I often have to force quit from the dock as going to dreamweaver/quit doesnt work, quite isnt highlighted. I have some other problems with extensions not working correctly and was wondering if it all ties in. Also when I make .dwt templates and then base new .html templates on it, the .dwt file updates the changes i make to the .html.
Any ideas? Is my dreamweaver installed incorrectly somehow?

30" cinema dead: power brick, graphics card, or other problem?

so, everything was going fine, then I hear a power surge beep through my Ups, and my apple 30" display goes black. checked all connections, plugged in a spare monitor. checked and changed power connections, and all other advice from initial troubleshooting. computer seems ok, it shows both the apple cinema display and other monitor are active in the system preferences. but the power brick is cold, and no power is getting to the cinema display.
What are my next steps to see if my power brick has failed or some other problem has arrived?

Determined that one of my internal harddrives p**ped out at the same time. This may indicate a power surge ran through the machine. Apple hardware test hasn't been able to complete testing, it locks up after a few minutes.
I know these monitors and in the under $500 range nowadays, but it has been such an awesome monitor, I would hate to see it die.

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!

The only time I've seen this is when the server really has been registered with another pool. You need to clean out the local ovs-agent database at */etc/ovs-agent/db* and restart the agent.

Re-Register AdobePDF.dll?

I own Acrobat Pro 7. My OS is XP Pro. I have a 3d party app (DocScan Pro) which uses Acropdf.dll to display PDFs which it creates by scanning. The problem is that the app thinks acropdf.dll is not installed, so it nags me to install Acrobat Reader (and, fails to display any pdfs). I've tried installing Reader 8, then Reader 9, then uninstalling them, then reinstalling, them, etc., but the problem persists.
My guess is that somehow acropdf.dll is not registered in the registry properly. It exists where you'd expect to find it. There are numerous references to it in the registry, but maybe not the one which lets a 3d party app call it?
I've always had Acrobat Pro set to be my default PDF viewer (why use Reader if you paid for Pro?). I also have PDFs on the internet set to display in Acrobat and *not* the browser. However, when I reverse that and try to display an internet pdf in my browser, the browser (Firefox) gives me an error indicating that it can't display it.
Q. - How can I re-register Acropdf.dll to fix this?

I have a customer who is having the same problem. We sell an application that uses acropdf.dll for display of pdf files in the program. My customer has Reader 9 installed, but it seems the acropdf.dll file is not correctly registered on the machine because our application cannot load the pdf files in our viewer. Our program is written currently in VB5. It works just fine for most everybody on both XP and Vista, but some encouter this problem.
The user has unistalled and re-installed Reader 9 at my suggestion, but with no success (this does fix the problem for most people). The acropdf.dll file is located in the expected location.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this apparent registration problem, when uninstalling and re-installing of Reader 9 is unsuccessful in fixing it? Is there anything the user should check/do after uninstalling Reader 9 to make sure that acropdf.dll will be registered correctly upon re-installation.

Hi All,
I am working with VB6 SP6 and CR10 and have used the VB6 Package and Deployment Wizard to create a setup for my application. When running the setup in a WinXP VM, I got an error message towards the end of the installation which reads "An error has occurred registering file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Cyrstal decision\2.5\bin\crqe.dll". I retried a couple of times, gave up and skipped it. Then I received an error about a file not found ImagX7.dll (which I later checked it was actually there) and finally I received another registering error "An error occurred registering file C:\Windows\System32\Imagx7pr.dll". again I retried a couple of time and gave up and skipped it. The application appears to run ok, although I have not tired to execute a report (as there are database connectivity issues to be ironed out). I tried to register the dlls manually and got an "Access Denied" message.
Could the fact that I'm running in a VM be causing these issues? Is it a permissions/security problem? How do I covercome this problem?
Update: Just found the solution to the Imagx7.dll problem: As there was no dependency file for the Imagx7 control, the Imagx7.dll was not included in the package. Including the file has solved the errors associated with that file. Now only need to solve the crqe.dll not registering poblem...
