Register WSRP Provider failed

Hi,
I'm trying to register a WSRP provider (using WSRP Preview Portal) but it is failing.
The Provider is deployed on a OC4J standalone version (running on the development machine).
The URL is accessible through a webbrowser:
http://10.1.40.87:8888/javaPortlets/portlets?WSDL
here is the error message I get when finishing the registration process:
An error occurred when attempting to call the providers register function. (WWC-43134)
An error occured during the call to the WSRP Provider: Java stack trace from root exception:
java.rmi.ServerException: Internal Server Error (caught exception while handling request: oracle.webdb.wsrp.server.ContainerRuntimeException: An internal error has occurred in method <init>)

at oracle.webdb.wsrp.client.design.v1.OraWSRP_v1_Registration_PortType.register(Unknown Source)
. (WWC-43273)
Register WSRP providers running directly on the Portal-Machine is working.
Is this a problem with the proxy settings? If yes: I can't see the 'Proxy Settings' part in the 'Services' Portlet (as I can see it in the 'normal', not the preview, portal) to change the settings.
What else could cause this problem?
Regards,
Mario

Hi,
I've got a similar problem again. I was able to register and refresh WSRP providers for a while, but now I get an error message again.
An error occured while trying to refresh the Provider. (WWC-43190)
An error occured during the call to the WSRP Provider: java.rmi.RemoteException: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Unable to internalize message; nested exception is:

I can't remember that I did changes to the OC4J-Config.
What could be the reason for that?

  • A strange error while registering WSRP provider

    Hello,
I have production version of AS (10.1.2) with portal upgrated to 1.4.
I've installed standart WSRP samples in dedicated OC4j instance.
When I've tried to register the provider for the samples, I've got this error:
Internal error (WWC-00006): No default region found (WWC-43000)
Do you know, what is a region and where can I configure the default one?

I've tested the server with Oracle remote provider
    (http://portalstandards.oracle.com/portletapp/portlets?WSDL),
and it was successfully registered, and portlets are working.
It seems, that that the problem in the provider in that new
OC4j container. (But wsrp-istall.jar had no errors, and I'v got
    regular WSDL descriptor).

The Portal Developer's Guide provides a number of possible problems and solutions with registering WSRP producers. May want to begin there.
You can get to the Portal documentation from OTN:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/documentation.html
Look for B.2.2.3 Error When Attempting to Register Provider.

  • WSRP Provider registration fails for OC4J10.1.3 container (stack), why?

Successfully installed the portlet container in an OC4J 10.1.3 standalone environment. Reconfigured datasources and successfully tested JDBC access. Also could deploy the sample.ear to the OC4J 10.1.3 container and verified it via obtaining the ?WSDL. But...
Registering a WSRP provider in Oracle Portal 10.1.4 failes when trying to retrieve information over ?WSDL with the following stacktrace:

Seems the (installation procedure of) portlet-container is not compatible with OC4J 10.1.3 standalone. (Is the JSR-168 portlet-container supported for 10.1.3?
Solved the initial issue by placing the missing cache.jar in the shared libraries directory of 10.1.3, but this only gets me to the next error. A class cast exception for JAXB.

  • WSRP Refresh Provider Failed - WWC-43190

    Hello,
I've been able to create a JSR 168 portlet using Jdev 10.1.3.3 and I've then deployed it to Portal 10.1.4.
Now I've added some initialization (<init-param> value pair) parameters and few other changes in Java. So I wanted to refresh my deployed portlet and I'm getting the following error when trying to do so:

Did anyone fix this issue before? How could I delete a provider? and re-create it? (instead of refresh)

Found the solution on Metalink (Note 437789.1) by editing the existing v1 wsdl and creating a dummy one in my deployment file.

  • Error while registering web provider

    Hello
I have a web provider developed in JPDK. I have deployed it successfully to an Standalone OC4J and I can access a page that says something like that:
    Oracle9iAS Portlet Application Test Page
This page lists the portlet providers available in this web application. Use the registration URL in combination with the provider's service name to register the provider. Click on the service name link to view the provider's test page.
    Registration URL http://myserver:8888/intranet/providers/
    Service Name
    provideredd
    providergenerales
    provider_edd_desarrollo
But when I try to register the provider in portal with the registration URL I got the error:
An error occurred when attempting to call the providers register function. (WWC-43134)
The following error occurred during the call to Web provider: 500: Internal Server Error (WWC-43147)
I'm sure my OC4J is up and running because I can acces the url http://myserver:8888/intranet.
    Please help me.

I have a similar problem where I have portal installed on a machine called portal.mgmt, which is on a network that users cannot access. Connection to portal.mgmt can only be made from our local network via a machine called install.mgmt. In a sense I guess it is acting like a reverse proxy or firewall.
I have run ssodatan on portal providing the install.mgmt URL and can access most of Portal pages navigating to http://install.mgmt/ except any of the servlets. Actually the only servlet I can access is the sample IsItWorking servlet.
In my java jserv.log file I am getting the following error:
    java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer
    at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketAvailable(Native Method)
I can only assume, from reading the Troubleshooting guide as mentioned above, that portal.mgmt is trying to make a separate connection to the install.mgmt box and is failing.
The network between portal.mgmt and install.mgmt is very restricted as to what can be run and what protocols and ports can be used. Is this restriction causing the problem?
I see that Jserv uses port 8007, is this port used to communicate between machines?
Are there any ports that need to be opened?
I have tried using another machine called ogg as the firewall/access server and get the following error as well.
    java.net.UnknownHostException: ogg
    at java.lang.Throwable.fillInStackTrace(Native Method)
Any help on this one would be very much appreciated, as I am very stuck at the minute.
    Regards,
    Garry

Our portal is configured with https, listening to a virtual host (https://portalpilot:4443)
In order to consume WSRP / JSR168 java portlets we
    - created a new OC4J container (wsrp_dev)
    - installed the portlet-container ( $MIDTIERHOME/j2ee/wsrp_dev/ java -jar wsrp-install.jar)
    - started the container & deployed the samples
    all OK
but when trying to register the (tested & OK ) url https://portalpilot:4443/portalapp?WSDL
in the Provider Registration we got an error (error in provider url)
changing the url to the non-ssl host (http://gogol:7777) was the (pseudo) solution.
is this behavior by design? we would like to use SSL throughout

    OOS,
Did the info in the release notes solve your problem?
It seems to me that the release notes address a similar but different issue. You want to run under https. The release notes are instructing you to change all references to https to http in the WSDL file. I don't see how this would fix the problem of trying to register a WSRP provider with a WSDL URL that uses https.
The reason I ask is because I am encountering the same problem.
    Thanks.

  • WSRP provider error

    Hi,
I have deployed a JSR168 portlet application from OEM, then i created the WSDL url as http://<server>:<port>/ContextRoot/portlets?WSDL this URL is working fine when i run this in a browser.
Problem is, when i register this provider and give the above url value to WSDL url then after clicking on finish button i m getting the following error.
An error occurred when attempting to call the providers register function. (WWC-43134)
An error occurred during the call to the WSRP Provider: Java stack trace from root exception:

    Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Yes i got it resolved.
Actually i was deploying a JSR 168 portlet application EAR to Oracle Portal server. This EAR was tested on IBM WebSphere Portal server and we can deploy this IBM portal server EAR to Oracle portal server without making any changes.
But, if you have an entry for a servlet in web.xml in a JSR168 portlet applicaion, then you need to make changes according to Oracle Portal server. So later on i created a project in JDeveloper and made some changes and then the issue got resolved.
    Thanks

  • How to Register the Provider

Based on the Docuementation for Registering the Provider :-
    1) Under the Administrator Tab, click on Add a portlet provider within the portlet called provider.
Where can I find the administrator tab?

I have login onto OTN with my OTN Account and also the portalstudio.com with the same account and password. I am able to go in successfully but when I attempt to register a web provider, it failed. I cannot see the administrator tab as documented. Is it true that my OTN Account does not have the ability the register a web provider ?

  • Wwc-43176 error while registering a Provider

    Hi,
I am not able to register any of the providers, it gives me the following error
Error: The provider URL specified may be wrong or the provider is not running. (WWC-43176)
I am able to look at the Registration URL by running index.jsp from JDeveloper. I also deployed it on a standalone OC4J & Application Server OC4J and got the Registration URL. When I try using the URL, I get the error
Resolution in this regard will be very helpful
    Regards
    Yash

    hi all,
I have the same problem: i can access the provider test page, but when i going to register the provider in the portal i got this stupid error message.
The solution in my case was to update the pdkjava.jar and the ptlshare.jar files from my .ear file to the ones from the oracle 10g as instance (path_to_oracle_10g_as/portal/jlib/*)
    hope this help :)
