Registering of Custom Application tables

Hi All,
I have a doubt in Registering of Custom Application tables?
I know that we can register the custom application tables through AD_DD Package.
But i want to know what is the need for registering the custom Application tables?
B'cos why i am asking is, i have created custom tables without registering it and it is also working fine.
Regards
Santhosh

You register your custom application tables using a PL/SQL routine in the AD_DD package. Flexfields and Oracle Alert are the only features or products that depend on this information. Therefore you only need to register those tables (and all of their columns) that will be used with flexfields or Oracle Alert.

• How to register a custom HCM module/application in Fusion Application

Hi All,
I am working on a Fusion Co-existence project and one of the requirement we have to create/register a custom application/module In Fusion Apps(Just like Creating Entry in FND_APPLICATION IN EBS).
Once created we want it to be linked to a custom schema and custom Linus directory structure as well.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ankit

Hi Jani,
We haven't deployed any application till now; Infact we are not even sure of it as we are EBS People predominantly. Here is what we need and Why:
We are developing a custom integration to support the Data translations migrations from EBS to Fusion Apps in a co-existence environment. Solution is basically consist of :
1.Extract the Data in Flat File using a Concurrent Program from EBS R12
2.FTP the file to Fusion Server
3.Read the file and write into Staging table using the SQL*Loader in Fusion Apps through a custom ESS Job
4.Data validation and Import program in Fusion Apps through a custom ESS Job
Since this is a custom solution The ESS Import/Validation jobs in Fusion Apps need to be register within a custom module (Like lets say XXHR). So the staging tables need to be created should be tied to custom Database schema linked with this application and the Files to be palced in the Fusion Server should be placed under the Custom XXHR_TOP/bin directory. Also the ESS job shold be registered with the custom application.
So we are looking for a complete help on this.
Hope it clarifies your questions.
Thanks,
Ankit

• [custom application] we did'nt use the register form, and it works anyway !!!!

[custom application] we did'nt use the register form, works anyway ?
Excuse my english:
Our developper's have created the custom objects in a new oracle user.
The have given all grants ans synonyms to APPS (by the hand with manuel scripts).
They didn't use the 'Security\oracle\register' forms.
They have just declared the application in 'security\oracle\data group' using APPS as oracle id.
So they did not have to enter a password in AOL for the new custom oracle userneme.
QUESTION ?
Did we miss something ? What is wrong ?
Are we qoing to face some issue (with standard AOL admin scripts for exemple ?)
Does Always OA connect via APPS or did it sometimes need to connect
with the real oracle usernam of the custom application ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Pierre from Paris.

I believe you're probably okay, as long as you are only adding objects, not modifying existing ones. We have custom database accounts registered through the aforementioned forms, but as a rule-of-thumb we always grant all on any custom objects to APPS with grant option. All custom packages we create are also created under the APPS schema. The underlying user that is running for our custom forms & reports is still APPS. We just put tables, indexes, and similar objects under the custom accounts primarily so that we can clearly tell what objects are custom and which are not.
Keep in mind that one risk you run with any customizations you make under APPS (or any other delivered database account) is that there is always a chance that Oracle could create an object with the exact same name in the future, potentially overwriting your customizations
Hope this helps!

• How to migrate custom application from AK to MDS ?

I have got a custom application in Apps 11.5.8 where the data is stored in the AK_REGIONS table, etc. and the custmo application is registered in FND_APPLICATION table correctly. When applying the OAF 5.7 patch, the data is not migrated to MDS.
Answer:
This is because the OAF 5.7 patch does not migrate product data automatically. It is up to the development teams to do this.
With Custom applications, there is apparently no documented or supported mechanism to migrate this data from AK to MDS.
Solution:
OA Framework 5.7 (or OAF 5.10) can read the page definitions out of AK, so there is no pressing need to migrate the page definitions anyway. (See Metalink Note 216823.1 for example of this) When a page needs to be changed, the page will need to be changed via AK Developer as before, or manually recreated using JDeveloper which will then be using the MDS repository.

Do you mind telling me how you do it from the client ? All the libraries for the import utilities seem to be present in the application server. How (and what) to bring to the client where my jdeveloper resides ?
Thanks in advance...

• How to register a custom MBean in weblogic 9.1

Dear All,
In weblogic 8.1, I usually register my custom mbeans using the <startup> tag in config.xml file. But in weblogic 9.1 I can not do this. <startup> tag is unrecognizable in weblogic config.xml file. Anybody knows how to write a java program and run it to register the custom MBeans?

Hi.
I guess you use SRM 7.0. Please go to IMG.
SRM -> SRM Server -> Cross-Application Basic Settings -> Extensions and Field Control (Personalization) -> Create Table Extensions and Supply with Data

Hi Amit,
Generated Documentation (Untitled)
This is what you're looking for, there's no real cook-book -- though Amey mentioned there might be some material on SDN, perhaps some tutorials.
You should be looking into com.sap.security.api.IUserFactory, methods newUser(String) which gives you and IUserMaint and commitUser(IUserMaint, IUserAccount) -- IUserAccount can be obtained using com.sap.security.api.IUserAccountFactory, method newUserAccount(String)
Hope it helps,

• Report Custom Vertical Table Question

Hello Guys,
I am trying to display some data in a custom vertical table (for a report). The data that I have looks like this :
Customer number Name Product Age
123 John Customer Checking 50
456 Jane Customer Savings 40
When I display it using a vertical table (or attribute value pairs) the data looks like:
Customer number: 123
Name : John Customer
Product: Bank Account
Age: 50
Customer number: 456
Name : Jane Customer
Product: Bank Account
Acct No: 40
But I want to display the data like this:
Customer number: 123 456
Name : John Customer Jane Customer
Product: Bank Account Bank Account
Age: 50 50
The option here is to change the data to dynamic columns rather than dynamic rows. I tried manipulating the templates but it would not do it. Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi Badri,
OK - this is what I did (there's no documentation as such, so I'll just give you the step-by-step guide here!):
1 - In your application, go to Shared Components then Templates
2 - Click the Create button
3 - Click the "Report" option
4 - Select "From Scratch" and click Next
5 - Enter a name for the new template (for example, "Vertical Report"), leave the Theme as your current theme, set Template Class to "Custom 1", tick the "Named Column (row template)" option and click Create
This creates a new blank report template - scroll down the list of templates to this new one and click on the name to edit it.
In there, you need to enter the following:
Row Template 1 setting:

#1#

#2#

#3#

#4#

NOTE: In my example report, I show four columns (EMPNO, ENAME, SAL, COMM) - these are refered to as #1#, #2#, #3# and #4# above (#1# means column number 1, #2# is column 2 and so on - but use the column numbers not the names in your template). If you have a different number of columns add in or remove lines of:

#nn#

(replacing nn with the column number)
Leave all other settings in the Row Templates section blank
Before Rows setting:

EMPNO

ENAME

SAL

COMM

NOTE: You will need one TR tag for each of the column headings - I have four here (EMPNO, ENAME, SAL and COMM) - add or remove lines of

COLUMNNAME

After Rows setting:

#PAGINATION#

Leave all settings in the Pagination section blank
NOTE: Any "class" name used above assumes that you are using Theme 18 (t18Standard is the standard report style class, for example) - you will have to update these to match your own theme
Click Apply Changes to save this
Now go back to your page and click on the "Report" link for your report region - this takes you to Report Attributes. Scroll down to the "Report Template" setting and change this to your new template. Click Apply Changes to save that.
When the page is rendered, a new table will be created for the report, the headings will be created within another table in the first TD on that table. All data lines are created as separate tables within new TD tags - this makes the output go across the page instead of down.

• OIM 11g R2 - Provisioning to DB Application Table

I have installed a DB Application table connector installed. I create a new GTC provisioning resource with parent and child table. It created the form for me automatically.
Here is what my form looks like
Parent Table Columns: user_id, department
Child Table columns: user_id, role
I have specified user_id in child table as a foreign key from the parent table. Once the forms are created I went to /sysadmin UI and create a new Form from Form Designer (request dataset in R1). It recognizes the parent and child relationship. Then I went an created a application instance with that form so that I can request it using a catalog. When I request the resource using the catalog, it provisions the user to parent table fine but does not provision it to the child table. Is there something I have to do extra to provision it to the child table? I've done this setup in R1 and it works fine without customizing anything other then creating a dataset.

Did you add any value in Child Data Set while submitting the request ?
I heard that there's some issue with Child Form Reconciliation but provisioning works fine (for one element)

• Custom Application in CRM 5.0 SP13

We have made changes as per note 1017761 to get a custom application working ...
In the attached file I have made a summary of the errors related to
the "sap.com/home~syn_crm" application.
Overall we have 3 missing references to classes or classes definition
- we have to check again the project and what jars are added to the
project.
And one JNDI error, for making a lookup by name: "SAP/CRM/b2b".
All those errors I think are caused by wrong project construction, that is:
wrong references or jar files not added to the project
wrong project xml configuration files

• Custom Data Table in Work Manager 6.1 / SMP 3.0

Hi folks,
was trying to create a custom Data Table in Work Manager. Unfortunately I was not successful to get it working - probably I am missing out something.
Have created the DataTable in the Agentry Editor and configured the Java Class to use the DataTable class like for the other DataTables. Then created the 4 config values in the parameters of the Mobile Application Configuration (DT_MDOID, TABLE_CHECK, TABLE_REFRESH, ENABLE_TABLE). Also created a MDO that is mapped to the DT_MDOID which is derived from the /SYCLO/CL_CORE_DT_HANDLER class.
During sync, I am getting the following errors in the server logs - in the client it is Error 13 => Java...
08/13/2014 18:18:36, 1,         0,         2, Thr      10364, class RCP<class DT::DataTable>, D:\Syclo_BuildBot\rc_7.0server\Syclo\refcount.h#220:RCP<class DT::DataTable>::operator ->
2014/08/13 18:18:36.505: + BackEnd=Java-SAPJavaConnection
2014/08/13 18:18:36.505: Using Java code for <DATA_TABLE_NAME>
2014/08/13 18:18:36.506: Java Exception "<DATA_TABLE_NAME>" Update Data Table: - java.util.NoSuchElementException
Do you have some pointers on what I may miss out?
Cheers,
Florian

Make sure that 'DT_MDOID" parameter entries are maintained correctly "That there is no typo's" in config panel. I don't think you need any entries for TABLE_CHECK, TABLE_REFRESH, ENABLE_TABLE parameters which are only relevant for complex table. Same in Agentry the data table should match with SAP name.
Let me know if you still have issues.
Thanks

• How to register a custom plsql code

Hi
i have wrritten a custom plsql code for my Overtime entries validation for payroll processing.
Can any body tell me how to register it in application.
Secondly i want to get the output file generated by report submission on my desktop.i want to know where the report output files for HR and payroll are stored so that i can get them through FTP.
Regards

if you want to integrate your plsql into a fast formula, please download the fast formula guide from metalink. Or ask your functional payroll consultant.
All reports and processes in Oracle Apps are handled via concurrent programs and requests. When a concurrent request is finished, click on the output button, and depending from the filetype, your browser will take action.
All concurrent output is also stored on the concurrent server. Ask your apps dba where she mapped the concurrent output directory. But i do not see why you should need this.

• SOA Suite 11.1.1.2: Human workflow: custom application: Attachment: getCont

Hello,
i am building a custom application for the human workflow component in SOA Suite 11.1.1.2.
I am able to add attachments to the created tasks. But when i try to get the contents with the function AttachmentType.getContent(), i always receive a null pointer.
I have looket into the database and there are the entries in a blob in the content-column of the table wfattachment. But there is the contents binary, although i put it to the task Base64Encoded.
Can someone help me to get the contents of the attachments?
Best regards and thanks a lot
Friedrich

Thank you.
I must have changed something by accident. I would never had caught that. I reversed the changes in the WebLogic Console and all was right in the world. The app deployed correctly and the Human Task Approval Form worked flawlessly.
I guess I do some things right. ;-)

• Database Applications Table (GTC): Moving fields across to resource

All,
I have a Sun Java System Directory Server resource and a Database Applications Table (GTC) connector. The Database Applications Table is a trusted source for incremental reconciliation against an Oracle database.
For simplicity's sake, assume that the table which the Database Applications Table is pointing to is called hr_feed and has the following columns:
* Table: hr_feed *
- employee_id
- first_name
- last_name
- pay_grade
Next, assume that the Sun Java System Directory Server resource has the following attributes:
* uid=<employee_id>,ou=employee,dc=mycompany,dc=com *
- uid
- givenname
- sn
- paygrade
When I created the Database Applications Table connector, I was able to map employee_id to User ID (uid), and first_name and last_name to First Name (givenname) and Last Name (sn), respectively. However, I would like to:
1) Create the Sun Java System Directory Server resource and link it to the OIM user if it does not exist
2) Pass the pay_grade attribute from the hr_feed table (via the Database Applications Table connector) through to the Sun Java System Directory Server resource
How can I perform the above actions - most importantly #2?
I notice that the Resource Object associated with the Database Applications Table connector has all the fields which I assume would be populated as each record is picked up? Do I need to associate a new Process Task Adapter with the Reconciliation Insert Received Task and grab it from there somehow?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated :-)
Thank you,
Damian

Hi Nitesh,
Thanks for you reply, hopefully I'm one reply closer to solving my problem.
Any how, this is what I'm try to do.
Table in Database
Parent Table Name: Application1
Columns: Userid, eMail, Firstname, Lastname, Description, Access_Level (Description and Access_Level are custom fields)
When I provision this resource, and populate all the above details, I get an error as stated in my first post. However if I only enter Userid, Email, Firstname, Lastname then it get created in the database correctly. Is there some sort of mapping i need to do for the 'custom' attributes?
Thanks
