Reinstate email address

I was receiving automated emails from a company that has the title "Creative" in their name. To stop receiving them I applied a rule that said,
If any of the following conditions are met:
From...Contains...[email protected]
Perform the following actions:
Move Meassage to mailbox: Junk
This Rule did send that particular company's name to junk. Eventually-I unsubscribed altogether from this company's emails. So I removed the Rule. Yesterday-I had to contact someone from that company and I sent them an email. I received no reply. When I called to inquire I was told that they had responded. So I added their email address to my address book and asked them to try again. As, my junk mail settings state-Senders of messages who are in my address book are exempt from filtering I thought I would receive the email-but I didnt. I then asked the other party to re-subscribe me on their end-which they did do, but to no avail. Now, today, I noticed I had a junk mail from another company that I deal with who also has the name "Creative" in their email address and that was in my junk mail. So I feel like something has not been erased on my end. So far I have tried repairing my permissions and trashing my Message Rules plist files. Im not sure what action to take next. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank-you.

Did you perhaps change your email addres on their site?
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup

    However all this won't stop you receiving emails at the primary address: but you can set up a Rule to move all such messages to the Trash. Go to the Mail page at http://icloud.com and click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left: choose 'Rules'.

  • Server doesn't recognize email address

    I can recieve email, but I can't send email.  It keeps saying "server doesn't recognize email address."

    I have it working finally.
    On a whim, I tried deleting the iCloud account (again) and reinstated it.
    I set it up using [username]@me.com, and all is well.
    This is the 2nd time i set it up this way, so I would suggest trying it again, if you have already.

  • Sky cancelled their complaints email address and problems with my sky box

    After writing an email to the sky helpdesk it appears that that email is no longer in use, and the website has no email address to use for complaints only a postal address, how convenient sky.... lets fob off the customers yet again... and make them wait even longer to get a complaint resolved. I have had issues with my signal on various channels now for about 4 weeks I called this morning and after a very lengthy discussion with the operator it appears I have to have an engineers visit........  Ok but then Im told I have to pay for the priviledge of this visit, even though I pay a fee to sky every month.   I am told I own the equipment and I have to pay for a visit.  Lets squeeze yet more money out of our hard working strap cashed customers....  I advised the operator that this isn't acceptable If i pay a fee to sky and have done every month for the years ive had it i dont expect to have to pay an extortionate amount for an engineers visit. I have had to agree to the engineer visit and guess what ....... nothing until next sunday.. a whole week away..  a whole week of not being able to use a service properly that I pay a lot of money every month for.... diaboloical service and no offer of good will compensation in the meantime for a service that isnt working property and yet Im still expected to pay the full fee every month. This sky dish has been installed originally withouth my authorisation, by a tenant I had living here, who funnily enough worked for sky during his time here and had all this installed as part of his contract, i was neither asked or informed of this sky just goes aheads and installs it, i am told if he states he is the owner and not the tenant not skys responsiblility... Then when the engineer got here last june when i moved back in i pointed out all the shoddy workmanship and am told by the engineer nothing he can do about it and he wouldn't have put the dish there himself..... Anyway he reinstates the service for me, now a year a later i have problems accessing certain channels.. whereby i get no signal, i am advised the engineer will sort this in 7 days when he visits. i am completely disgusted and annoyed with skys lack of empathy or compassion towards their customers especially on this issue in all counts. If i dont receive a satisfactory response to this I am seeking further advise from the likes of trading standards.

    I have had the same BT email address for in excess of 10 years now, but this week when accessing through Outlook (as I do daily) I was asked for my password which never happens.  I entered my password but it rejects that.  I have tried resetting my password but when being asked to confirm my email address, I receive an error message saying "Sorry, we do not recognise that email address/user ID."  The same thing has happened to my husband.  We have both had lengthy telephone calls with BT regarding this and are told that our email addresses seem to have somehow been deleted?!  Neither of our email addresses are recognised and appear to no longer exist, nor does it appear they can be reinstated. Having had the same address for so many years, I am loathe to have to change email addresses, and am currently awaiting some important emails. Any suggestions?   Can I get my email address back?  How has this happened?

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
    Have you tried access your emails using a browser via webmail ? Sometimes the email address/password combination fails for a fleeting time, sometimes lasting a few days, usually only affecting access from mail client programs such as Outlook.
    If you can access webmail, then it's a problem that has been happening for a number of months now.
    A quick way to the webmail access is point your browser ay http://mail.yahoo.com and enter your full email address as the Yahoo! ID.

  • Deleted email address in iPad 2

    How can I reinstate a deleted email address in  ipad2.   It can still be seen but as "deleted" and any attempts to change the details are thwarted by the keyboard space  bar not  being shown.

    I deleted my wife's email address on her iPad.   In looking further into it I discovered that although I had deleted it, it is still shown in the record but marked as deleted.   I wish to i know if there is a way to undelete it.   Does that help?

    Is it possible to play music bought from Itunes with an old email address? Because the email address was not used it has been delisted, however, if I try to reinstate the address it says it is in use! So music bought with that old yahoo address can't be played. Surely this is crazy and there must be some way round it, but how?
    Hoping someone can help, there must be 1000's of us in the same boat.

    I was able to resolve this on my own.  Apparently Blackberry's website app scans for what it considers to be valid MX records on the domain of the email address you're trying to send.  We use postini for inbound/outbound and as a result had no MX records that pointed directly to our server.
    When I added an additional MX record pointing directly to our server, blackberry's website was then able to add the account.  After the account was added I was then able to remove the MX record and the blackberry continues to function.

With other apps I have deleted them then reinstated the app with gmail.com but I don't won't to do that as it states that all data will be lost and I have 3 years of diary data on it. Advice please

    It sounds like you have multiple apple ID's, one of which has been disabled for security purposes. If that is the case in-order to fix that you will need to go to expresslane.apple.com and submit an inqury to be contacted by someone from iTunes, normally they will respond VIA email within 24 hours.
    As far as the apple ID is concerned, as long as you have the password, or can answer the security questions that you initially set up the account with, you can manage it at appleid.apple.com 
    You can rename it and associate it with an email account that you are currently using and have access to.

  • Email address change--how does this affect laptop and nook?

    I use my Adobe ID only to authorize my laptop and Nook.  I need to change my email address which seems easy on the FAQs, but how do I then reauthorize my laptop and Nook?  And, if I do this, are all my existing library books unreadable since they were downloaded by what the Nook thinks is a different user?  I'm almost sure I won't be able to return any books in ADE on my laptop, but I can live with that if I can still read the books on the Nook.

    The sync process with iTunes transfers the email account settings (for your chosen accounts via your iPhone sync preferences) from the Mail application on your Mac to the iPhone's email application.
    The iPhone is running OS X and the iPhone's email client can be considered a mobile version of the Mail application.

    You can edit keyboard shortcuts in Settings>General>Keyboard>Shortcuts>Edit.

    I would guess this is  an AIM valid Screen Name such as an Apple issued @mac.com account.
    I would also guess you travel to other countries.
    There have been several posts about @mac.com names and people who travel and use their Screen Name elsewhere having the name Suspended.
    Can you Log in here  https://settings.aim.com/ ?
    Is this where you saw the Suspended message ?
    For AIM issued name the answer is to change your Password as this tends to prove you own the account.
    This does not work for Apple IDs used as  AIM Valid Screen Names as AIM can't tell when the password is changed (They can only see it when you log in)
    AIM's Suspended Account page has an email ([email protected]) on it to contact if your account remains Suspended.
    However you need to be very clear that you have an Apple Issued Name and that you know that resetting the password that works for AIM Names and that you would like them to reset the account.
    More recently this has been a sticking point.  It seems the Contact you get does not always know about the agreement that AIM recognises Apple Issued IDs as Valid Screen Names and that the AIM  servers can only view the passwords at specific times (or at least confirm them) so you changing it will make no difference and that they have to step in manually.

  • I am trying to change or add the email address which is attached to my itunes account. I keep getting a notice saying email address is already verified for another Apple ID. Im sure its one of my devices. How can I get my current email address added?

    My itunes account is attached to an email account that I no longer have and cannot retrieve. I have been having trouble with purchases made to my itunes account and want to view my purchases. The support center said that they would email me the purchase history. However, I don't have that email address. When I go to change my email address to my current one, I get a message in red saying that "the email address is already verified for another Apple I.D." I'm sure it is one of my devices as we have 4 ipods and 2 iphones. How can I get my account to use my current email address? If one of my devices was registered using my current email address as it apparently was, do I need to figure out which device that is and remove the email address from that account? I'm so confused. I just want ALL my devices to use my current email address. I need to replace the old email address with my current one. How do I do that?

    Your best bet would be to try resetting the password to the account that you would like to use via iForgot
    Once you log in to that account change the email address to anything, it can even be fake its just a placeholder
    After you do that you will be free to change your old email address on your appleID to the new one that is now free to be used as it is no longer attached to the other account.

    I can connect to Thunderbird and receive email. However, I cannot send emails. When I press send (either from replying to an email or entering an email address manually) I get the following error message:
    Sending of message failed.
    No sender specified. Please fill in your email address in the Mail & Newsgroup Account settings.
    When I click on the menu option within the email message Tools/Mail & Newsgroup, the message minimises and the programme returns me to my inbox. There is no Mail & Newsgroup setting on the mail programme.

    You can have a different receiving email in the Messages app on each device : Settings > Messages > Receive At . I'm not sure that there is a different way to have the message only go to one device.
