Unable to find ODI_SAmple_DATA.zip file to work with oracle profiling.
I am unable to find ODI_SAmple_DATA.zip file to work with oracle profiling.Any help regarding profiling???Do i need to
copy it from sw installation folder.?How profiling is different or related to odi data quality???Do we take source data twice -
1) For ODI target load
2)For profiling into entities.Try:

Oracle Profile Vs Oracle Resource Manager in Oracle 11g
Hi Friends,
Whats is the Avantages / Dis advantages of using Oracle Profile and Oracle Resource Manager to limit the oracle resources to oracle users in Oracle 11.2.0.1
Regards,
DBIf you have a single database servicing multiple Services / Applications / Schemas (e.g. a typical database consolidation), you could use Profiles and Resource Manager to place limits on resource usage by Service / Application / Schema. That way, for example, a 32 CPU database server running a single database can still limit the number of cores for each Service / Application / Schema using the Resource Manager.

Fast fromula related to oracle payroll are not called from Formula result window
Hi,
Few of the fast fromula related to oracle payroll are not called from Formula result window , please let me know how these fast formulas are called.
Example : PAY_GB_EDI_MOVDED6_FOOTER
Thanks,
Subbu.Hi Subbu,
Some reports are handled by the PYUGEN engine as Magnetic reports.
These are old fashion reports to generate Magnetic files, like BACS EDI files etc..
select * from ff_formulas_f
where formula_name like 'PAY_GB_EDI_MOVDED6%';
If you see the above, there are 3 formulas defined for generating this report - Header, Body & Footer.
All are called in a sequence by the PYUGEN process based on what you seed in pay_magnetic_blocks.
All the logic is within these Fast formulas.
But as they're seeded there's nothing much you can do.

Data Warehouse security using Oracle Profiles
Has anyone used Oracle Profiles to secure their data warehouse. I have the requirement for conditional column and row viewing based on the login user. We could do this with Business Objects Enterprise security, however there are other applications that have access to the DW tables.
I was wondering if this has been successful out in the field and the overhead it could cause on the DB.
Thanks for any feedback, -rs-You need to be creating your "business groups" as a group in the RPD, init blocks to retrieve the user business group at login. Filters in the Logical table sources to restrict data to relevant business groups only.
Presentation 'Web Cat' groups with the same name as the RPD groups so a user inherits membership automatically.
I'd suggest sourcing a vanilla OBIA rpd to see how it is implemented out of the box. -
Doctorate Thesis related to Oracle Administration
Hi all OTN forum users, Professionals, Experts, Gurus!
I want to apply to doctorate degree and was asked to find a subject (doctorate thesis) to work on it
Now I want to ask you to advice me, especially need help from Experts and Gurus. Which doctorate thesis you advice me to take and work on it? Of course it MUST be related to Oracle Administration
Any suggestion??
Thanks ...Kamran hi,
I may advise you to check Very Large Database Concepts, Data Warehousing and Data Mining theories, you may be inspired by Oracle technology or use them as a part of an implementation parallel to your thesis but in my opinion a Doctorate Thesis must be original so can not be based on Oracle technology.

is there any .obr files related to Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0 ? if yes then i want to open that .obr files in Oracle SOA Suite 11g environment . is it related to Oracle Business Rules ?
Did you find a solution to this issue? We are having a similar issue trying to deploy a Paypal IPN on OAS 10.1.2.3. The IPN messages coming from Paypal appear to be attempting an SSLv2 handshake. In our case SSLv2 is disabled due to our security requirements so the connection is killed by our App Server. We have found that manually sending the IPN messages works correctly.

Viewing table relations inside Oracle SQL Developer
Hi,
I'm a PL/SQL beginner and I need to control the table relations for an Oracle database. I'm using the Oracle SQL developer tool.
Now, how can I see the table relation inside Oracle SQL developer tool?
Thanksitshak wrote:
When working with tables based on user defined types, the FK relations between the tables are not displayed at the data modeler (and also at the worksheet query builder)
I don't think that applies here 1041141 mentioned he is a beginner and did not mention any usage of object types.
If you want to report an issue or possible bug, then please open an extra thread for that. In such a case it helps tremendously if you provide a working test case as well. -
Limiting user activity using Oracle Profiles
I am hoping to reduce the impact of a certain group of users on system performance. I can allocate a separate Oracle profile to them but when I set limits, what happens?
Composite Limits - I'll leave alone, too much math required!
Sessions/User - I can't limit that, they may feasibly and reasonably have several sessions
CPU/Session - Ok, it's not a % of the CPU available but CPU seconds/100. What happens when that number is reached - is the sessions killed or what?
CPU/Call - See above
Logical Reads/Session - What happens when this limit is reached? Does the session die?
Logical Reads/Call - See above
Idle Time - Set to 300
Connect Time - I do not wish to restrict this
Private SGA - I am not sure about this (I don't even know if we are using multi-threaded server architecture!)
So it seems to me, that none of these will meet my needs and consumer resource groups would be the correct thing... but can anyone please confirm?
ThanksI've used CPU_per_call and logical_reads_per_call for our dynamic search. If user happens to enter such criteria that he cannot get at least a row back within certain limits he gets back certain oracle error and on the screen he gets something like "your query used too much resources, enter better criteria" :)
The overall impact of such queries was limited because of totla rows limit for search typically 100. So at most users could use 100 * almost resource limit per one search.
If your users can issue whatever statements they like then this is not usable because for example for aggregate queries logical_reads_per_call will be reached quickly and user won't get back result of quite normal statement.
So probably you have to use resource groups indeed.

Error 513 while creating a support message (related to roles/profiles)
Hello everyone,
my user is getting the generous error 513 while sending a support message either on the SAP GUI or Workcenter. I am trying to implement a profile for a key user, who can display, reply and create simple messages without putting in technical data.
I gave him the following roles:
SAP_SMWORK_INCIDENT_MAN
SAP_SUPPCF_CREATE
SAP_SUPPCF_ADMIN
SAP_SUPPDESK_DISPLAY
SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE
SAP_SV_FDB_NOTIF_BC_CREATE
and a generous role with the missing parts:
ZSAP_SMWC
When I tried sending a message with the GUI I used SU53 to find out which rights are missing and added them to ZSAP_SMWC. Now I got all of them and the SU53 replies that there are no more missing rights.
Thing is: When I add the profile SAPALL to my user, it works just fine. This is leading me to a problem i can't solve._
I also have to say that I accidently deleted some flags inside of sap_suppcf_create without copying it. Is there a way to restore SAP standard settings?
Thanks in advance,
HendrikI just seen the following SAP Knowledge Base Article related to ST 400 SP24:

Printing out results in case of object-relational table (Oracle)
I have made a table with this structure:
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE Boat AS OBJECT(
Name varchar2(30),
Ident number,
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE Type_boats AS TABLE OF Boat;
CREATE TABLE HOUSE(
Name varchar2(40),
MB Type_boats)
NESTED TABLE MB store as P_Boat;
INSERT INTO House VALUES ('Name',Type_boats(Boat('Boat1', 1)));
I am using java to print out all the results by calling a procedure.
CREATE OR REPLACE package House_boats
PROCEDURE add(everything works here)
PROCEDURE results_view;
END House_boats;
CREATE OR REPLACE Package.body House_boats AS
PROCEDURE add(everything works here) AS LANGUAGE JAVA
Name House_boats.add(...)
PROCEDURE results_view AS LANGUAGE JAVA
Name House_boats.resuts_view();
END House_boats;
However, I am not able to get Results.view working in case of object-relation table. This is how I do it in the situation of relational table.
CALL House_boats.results_view();
House_boats.java file which is loaded using LOADJAVA:
import java.sql.*;
import java io.*;
public class House_boats {
public static void results_view ()
throws SQLException
{ String sql =
"SELECT * from House";
try { Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection
("jdbc:default:connection:");
PreparedStatement pstmt = conn.prepareStatement(sql);
ResultSet rset = pstmt.executeQuery();
printResults(rset);
rset.close();
pstmt.close();
catch (SQLException e) {System.err.println(e.getMessage());
static void printResults (ResultSet rset)
throws SQLException { String buffer = "";
try { ResultSetMetaData meta = rset.getMetaData();
int cols = meta.getColumnCount(), rows = 0;
for (int i = 1; i <= cols; i++)
int size = meta.getPrecision(i);
String label = meta.getColumnLabel(i);
if (label.length() > size) size = label.length();
while (label.length() < size) label += " ";
buffer = buffer + label + " "; }
buffer = buffer + "\n";
while (rset.next()) {
rows++;
for (int i = 1; i <= cols; i++) {
int size = meta.getPrecision(i);
String label = meta.getColumnLabel(i);
String value = rset.getString(i);
if (label.length() > size) size = label.length();
while (value.length() < size) value += " ";
buffer = buffer + value + " "; }
buffer = buffer + "\n"; }
if (rows == 0) buffer = "No data found!\n";
System.out.println(buffer); }
catch (SQLException e) {System.err.println(e.getMessage());} }

Thank you in advanceI have made a table with this structure:

However, I am not able to get Results.view working in case of object-relation table. This is how I do it in the situation of relational table.

There are several things wrong with your code and methodology
1. The code you posted won't even compile because there are several syntax issues.
2. You are trying to use/test Java in the database BEFORE you get the code working outside the DB
3. Your code is not using collections in JDBC properly
I suggest that you use a different, proven approach to developing Java code for use in the DB
1. Use SIMPLE examples and then build on them. In this case that means don't add collections to the example until ALL other aspects of the app work properly.
2. Create and test the Java code OUTSIDE of the database. It is MUCH easier to work outside the database and there are many more tools to help you (e.g. NetBeans, debuggers, DBMS_OUTPUT windows, etc). Trying to debug Java code after you have already loaded it into the DB is too difficult. I'm not aware of anyone, even at the expert level, that develops that way.
3. When using complex functionality like collections first read the Oracle documentation (JDBC Developer Guide and Java Developer's Guide). Those docs have examples that are known to work.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/java.111/b31225/chfive.htm
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/java.112/e16548/oraarr.htm#sthref583
The main issue with your example is #3 above; you are not using collections properly:
String value = rset.getString(i);
A collection is NOT a string so why would you expect that to work for a nested table?
A collection needs to be treated like a collection. You can even treat the collection as a separate result set. Create your code outside the database and use the debugger in NetBeans (or other) on this replacement code for your 'printResults' method:
static void printResults (ResultSet rset) throws SQLException {
try {
ResultSetMetaData meta = rset.getMetaData();
while (rset.next()) {
ResultSet rs = rset.getArray(2).getResultSet();
rs.next();
String ndx = rs.getString(1);
Struct struct = (Struct) rs.getObject(2);
System.out.println(struct.getSQLTypeName());
Object [] oa = struct.getAttributes();
for (int j = 0; j < oa.length; j++) {
System.out.println(oa[j]);
} catch (SQLException e) {
System.err.println(e.getMessage());
That code ONLY deals with column 2 which is the nested table. It gets that collection as a new resultset ('rs'). Then it gets the contents of that nested table as an array of objects and prints out the attributes of those objects so you can see them.
Step through the above code in a debugger so you can SEE what is happening. NetBeans also lets you enter expressions such as 'rs' in an evaluation window so you can dynamically try the different methods to see what they do for you.
Until you get you code working outside the database don't even bother trying to load it into the DB and create a Java stored procedure.
Since your current issue has nothing to do with this forum I suggest that you mark this thread ANSWERED and repost it in the JDBC forum if you need further help with this issue.
https://forums.oracle.com/community/developer/english/java/database_connectivity
When you repost you can include a link to this current thread if you want. Once your Java code is actually working then try the Java Stored procedure examples in the Java Developer's Guide doc linked above.
At the point you have any issues that relate to Java stored procedures then you should post them in the SQL and PL/SQL forum
https://forums.oracle.com/community/developer/english/oracle_database/sql_and_pl_sql
