Remote desktop problem @ MSI P55 GD-65

hello guys. i just bought this board with intel i7 860 and install windows server 2003 on it.
like my previous system, i have a problem when connecting to my pc using remote desktop from outside, it will become "black screen" or "blank screen" after login. after several minutes, disconnected with reason: remote desktop disconnected.
i had experienced the same problem with my asus s755 motherboard with q9550, and someone ask me to enable acpi 2.0 inside the bios. after doing that, i finally can remote desktop my pc from outside.
the question is, i don't see any acpi 2.0 enable/disable inside msi p55 gd-65 bios. or is that anything i missed out
thank you in advance.

UPDATED: already format & install windows using AHCI mode. now can remote desktop. thank you for the solution

  • Cisco VPN Software and Remote Desktop Problem

    Hello-
Please have patience as I just got my first mac and I'm really just learning how everything works.
Anyway, I'm trying to connect to my office network from my iMac (OS X 10.5.3) using the Cisco VPN client ver. 4.9.01 (0030) and the Remote Desktop Connection v2.0.0 Beta 3. I'm able to connect via the VPN but I cannot connect to the remote machine using either the machine's hostname or IP address.
In order to troubleshoot the issue, I tried to ping the remote machine after connecting via VPN and it fails. The name is resolving but ping fails with a "No route to host" and then "Host is down error." However, I know the host is up since when I connect via VPN from my PC I can ping the remote machine without a problem.
Anyone have any ideas? Does the Cisco VPN client for Mac not work well? Is there some simple configuration setting I'm missing somewhere? BTW, I'm connecting to the Internet via WiFi and am using a Linksys WRT54G router.
    thx,
    ian

    Hello Ian:
Welcome to Apple discussions (and to the wonderful world of Macs). I think you will find these forums represent the best on-line community anywhere - and everyone is a volunteer!
I am no help with your problem as I have not used a Cisco VPN. However, in my previous business life I did connect my home Mac to my business VPN. I found that our IT people were most helpful in smoothing connection issues.
This forum addresses connection issues if you want to post there:

  • Remote Desktop Problems from OSX

We are using RDS (Server2008R2) to publish RemoteApps and this works really well in Windows 7 & 8 clients and also using the Microsoft Remote Desktop App for iOS. This also used to work well in OSX, but since we changed our domain name the version running
in OSX no longer operates, although all Windows and iOS devices connect perfectly.
The error message is a rather less than helpful "Failed to load Remote Resources at
https://xxxxxxxx.com/rdweb/feed/webfeed.aspxen-US/Default.aspx, error: Connection closed (2)" The last part of this string (en-US/Default.aspx) appears to have been added by the
App as the string entered ends ...webfeed.aspx. This webfeed URL works perfectly well apart from any of our Macs and also works from IE to use WebApps.
Looking in the logs the domain name resolves to the correct IP address for the Gateway server but does not seem to get as far as trying to log in. I have chased around in circles for ages with this and I am convinced something went astray when our domain
name change was implemented. We are now using a wildcard GoDaddy certificate to authenticate the domain.

    Hi Jeremy,
Not a great deal in the logs. I have removed the App and re-installed it 3 times today and each time I have run the App it seems to be picking up settings from the previous install. I have tried searching the MacBook for remnants of the App but
nothing shows in the search for RDClient or anything with rd in the filename. Logs show load of attempts going back to last week where we have been working on this so there must be remnants in there somewhere. I have cut the log file down to just the entries
from today as below, but it doesn't really tell us much at all. The same URL and user account work perfectly in iOS and Windows.

  • Two Remote Desktop Problems

One Sun system that I can make a XDMCP query too from my MacBook through Apple's X11. It will log in to the JDE, but not into CDE. Trying to log into CDE gives me a hourglass then kicks me back to the login screen
A second Solaris system just refuses XDMCP connections. Using gdm-config or editing Xaccess does nothing. Looking at Xconfig it looks like it should be listening. This machine is a VMWare Server VM, but I have no other problems with any other VM on this system and the Solaris machine answers everything else (ssh, www) just fine.
I have to admit to being new to administering Solaris, but searching around for howtos and hints on getting remote X sessions working correctly has unfortunately not worked yet.
I have remembered to check that the OS X host firewall is disabled. It is.

I have a Solaris VM in VMWare Fusion. Trying to log onto the other two Solaris systems produces the same results. CDE dies on one and kicks back to the login screen, for the other it reports that it is a valid hostname but that dtlogon might not be running or it isn't listening for connections.
So it looks like the one is not listening for XDMCP messages. How do I turn that on? Seems from documentation that it should be on by default.

  • Linux - Teamviewer Remote Desktop Problem

    Hello masters,
New Teamviewer 7 works automatically in Wine app,
I couldn't start Teamviewer in root account, it says
    TeamViewer: 7.0.9310
    Profile: /root (root)
    Desktop: gnome
    LSB Version:     :core-4.0-ia32:core-4.0-noarch:graphics-4.0-ia32:graphics-4.0-noarch:printing-4.0-ia32:printing-4.0-noarch
    Distributor ID:     OracleServer
Description:     Oracle Linux Server release 6.2
    Release:     6.2
    Codename:     n/a
Error: TeamViewer must not be executed as root!
    and teamviewer file contain :
    *#!/bin/bash*
    TV_script_dir=$(dirname $(readlink -f "$0"))
    *"$TV_script_dir/wrapper" wine "c:\Program Files\TeamViewer\Version7\TeamViewer.exe" "$@"*
    true
    lines.
How can I start Teamviewer 7 in root account?

Since you run Teamviewer with a Windows emulator you will need to run "wine" as root. You can try this by calling the script you've shown with the "sudo" command, though I would discourage to do so. You will need to use "visudo" to allow your account to use "sudo".
If Teamviewer is really a "must have" for your environment, I'd rather suggest to install a version that runs on Linux natively:
    http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/index.aspx?os=linux
If you are having trouble with the installation your best option will probably be to contact the vendor. Oracle Linux is binary compatible with RHEL.

  • Apple Remote Desktop 3.7.1 lag problem

    Hello,
Since updating to Apple Remote Desktop 3.7.0, I have had this problem. I just updated to 3.7.1 and the problem is still occuring.
I am using RealVNC Viewer 5.0.6 Windows 64bit on a Windows 7 machine to connect to my Mac through Apple Remote Desktop VNC.
It's tricky to describe the problem, but I'll do my best:
Remote desktop is quick and responsive (I'm using it over an internal network)... Except for the last frame of any sequence of frames. For example, if I scroll a window quickly, the intermediate frames showing the scrolling come through quickly... But the last frame that my screen settles on takes up to a full second before it comes through.
You can reproduce this problem most easily by opening up a terminal, typing a command, then pressing return. Or, press return multiple times in rapid succession: The first few returns come through fast, but the last one always comes through slow, up to a full second later.
I never had this problem before the 3.7.0 update. Any progress on fixing this issue?
    Thanks,
    Allen

I agree the new Remote Desktop 3.7.1 is very laggy. All my machine are up to date with patch, same issue..

  • Remote Desktop Connection Problem in Windows 7 Home Premium

First off i have changed most of my computers in the house to static IP addresses. I only configured one static IP address to the router which is my laptop out of the two computers i am working with. Desktop and Laptop. Second I have enabled the Remote Desktop
on both computers and changed the firewall setting for the computer or the anti virus software. I tried the  netstat -a but dont understand how to read it and when I did i never saw a host or port number for 3389 at all.
Then finally I went into the registry/regedit to try to see if I had the port number available and port 3389 was not there is just had #"2" in hexadecimal and the file says ehshell.exe which I have no clue what that means. When i click on that it
does not have the Port Number as the Title nor the port number itself as decimal which should be 3389 as decimal data but instead it has 2 as the data for hexadecimal. I can change the data for the port numbe and change to 3389 but I can't change the title
from ehshell.exe in the decimal value to PortNumber? The letters on my keyboard just will not coroperate or respond but it will highlight the word and thats it but not make a change to the data value ehshell.exe to something else.
Is it supposed to do that or what I wonder does anybody have any solutions to this so I can get my Remote Desktop running as soon as possible and no I do not have an Nvidia graphics card. I dont know what the problem is so can somebody please help
me? I need it for my Windows Server 2008 R2 class next semester and I need to be able to remote to other computers and devices.

    Hi,

  • Remote desktop connection problem windows 8

    Hi everybody,
I hope you can help us. We run a software package that uses a remote desktop connection. When the program is minimised for more than a couple of minutes, the connection disconnects and takes a while to reconnect. We've been in touch with the guys that run
the program and they've said that there's no problem on their end and that it must be on our end. It's happening with all three computers at one location and it's not happening with our two computers in our other location.
I've been in touch with the online support guys in microsoft and they couldn't help. So I'm wondering if any of you can help us (in laymans terms please!).
All our computers run Windows 8.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
Yes, you can check with 2 different settings. 1) By Collection properties (Server 2012\R2) and RDP-Tcp connection under Remote Desktop Service Manager (Server 2008 R2). 2) The other setting is related to GPO (Set time
limit for active but idle Remote Desktop Services sessions) as following path.
    Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Session Time Limits
    User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Session Time Limits
You can check below link (Configuration 1) for more information.

  • Problems conencting via Remote Desktop Connection to a server

hello! i have a problem connecting to one of our servers via Remote Desktop Connection. The story goes like this: the server works fine, i can connect using my credentials with no problems, the firewall is up. But, when i restart the server, after loading
windows, the server wont respond. I try to ping its IP Address and no respond. The only way so far to fix this bug is to log on localy (without remote) and disable the Windows firewall. Instantly the server starts to respond and i can connect to it via remote
desktop conenction. If i restart the server, the problem appears again and the solution to it this time is to enable the windows firewall back again. This enable/disable firewall thing doesnt seem right. Does anyone have any idea?
    thank you!

    Hi Dede,
Your box is up to date with windows updates.
Witch windows server are you using?
    Maybe review the firewall exceptions.

  • 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services Problems With Older RDP Clients

I recently deployed a new 2008 R2 server to serve as a Terminal Server (Remote Desktop Services) for about 30 people. The new server is replacing a 2003 server. I expected the new machine to be a considerable upgrade and was looking forward to happy people
and less problems. Reality is I am finding several unexpected headaches - discouraging considering the amount of money we have spent on the new machine.
Most of the users connect via HP thin clients, they are the T5510, T5520 and T5530 thin clients. What I have found is performance issues when connecting via these thin clients. I believe the RDP client on these thin clients is RDP 5.5 or earlier. And I do
not believe it is possible to upgrade the RDP client version on the thin clients - I guess they are to be seen as "disposable".
The performance issues are: black blocks appearing when connected - and I have deselected bitmap caching - makes no difference. When typing in certain places the display of the typed characters could not keep up with the user. And lastly I have a weird thing
that just popped up today; where if the user goes to Google it freezes up their entire environment - I cannot even remote control the user/session - why this came up today and was not a problem before I am not sure.
With all of the above issues I have found that the problem goes away or does not exist if I connect to the server using an RDP client on an XP or 7 computer. So I have to conclude the RDP client is the problem.
Does anyone have information on this? Is there anything I can do as far as configuration on the server to allow me to use these older RDP clients? Do I have any alternative other than buying new thin clients?
    thanks!

From your description, I also agree that the problem may be in the top RDP client.

Let thin clients use to connect to the Remote desktop server with low load.
    (1) Open the Remote desktop client in customer’s Thin Client
    (2) Click Advanced option. In choose your connection speed to optimize performance area, you can select the low load option. For example, modem(56kbps).
I noticed that you have deselected bitmap caching in Remote Desktop Client options, but makes no difference. You can try again. Then please remember disconnect idle sessions and rational allocation of resources in Terminal Server.

  • Remote Desktop on 10.4 computer with 10.5 server problem

Hi we have 10.5 server but all our workstations are 10.4. Doesn't seem like an issue but when I use Remote desktop on the 10.4 workstation and add the 10.5 server it tells me access denied. I've tried several different logins but nothing works. Double checked the settings ion the server for Remote Desktop and they seem ok. Anyone else having this problem or know if this is even possible?
BTW Remote desktop is up to date 3.2.1 and is running on a intel mac with 10.4.11 Currently I cannot upgrade the workstations to 10.5 due to other software compatibility.
    Thanks
    Steve

    Hi, Steve,
You might instead want to post this question in the Remote Desktop forum. More people running ARD are likely to spot it there. I believe others have reported issues connecting to a 10.5 system from a 10.4 administrator station, so you might find some suggestions posted in that forum.
    Good luck.
