Remove a project.....

I am seriously confused about iDVD in one respect.
Let me try to explain this as best as possible:
I edit and move a movie from iMovie to iDvd. I then arrange the way I want to have this look on the final burned DVD. Music...theme.... text....buttons... added slideshow....ect...ect.
*I now decide that I do not want to burn this project to a DVD, after all. In fact, I want this project to go away as though I never created it in the first place. I want to do what I can do in iMovie....move the whole thing to trash.*
Ok.....I don't think you can do that. "Think" is the key word, here.
It appears that when you move a movie from iMovie (which I have stored on my Mac HD) the movie (or maybe a copy of it? I don't know) then is now stored by default to my Documents folder.
So let's say you want to get rid of this project in iDVD. There is no "move to trash" option.
But you could open Documents and drag the movie from there to trash? No?
I did that but......Have I moved the movie that I dragged from iMovie to trash as well? I don't WANT to trash the movie. I want the project in iDVD to go away as though I never created it in the first place. In fact the next time I looked the movie was still in Documents. Is it still on my HD, too? Where is it really?
I think I am missing a major purpose of iDVD. Unfortunately I am not software literate and not intutive, but I would love to get a simple way of understanding this.
Dan

Just to add to the above good advice ... for the most part, iDvd references the movies created within iMovie. All you need do to get rid of an existing or unwanted iDvd project file is to drag and drop it to the trash. You don't get rid of it until you actually empty the trash.
As for disposing of an existing iMovie project file on your computer (and I'm quoting iMovie'09 Basics PDF which you can find here):
http://www.google.com/search?q=howto+delete+iMovie+%2709project&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
• To delete a project, click on it once to select it
and choose File > Move Project to Trash.
What they don't tell you on page 3 of 12 of the above PDF is that one must actually empty the trash and relaunch iMovie for said HDD space to once again become available for use within iMovie (or any other app for that matter).

  • Remove from Project not showing

I am trying to remove some duplicate controls from a project - more specifically a class.  Problem is the remove from project does not show up.  Anyone seen this?

    Hi rammer
Is the protection for the class set to public?
If you right-click on the class and select properties then you can see protection level. Also check that you have public permission under item settings for the individual items.
Also can you remove the class from the project and try to add the class again to see if this changes the behavior?

  • Removing a Project

Okay. Hope this is the right place for this. Nevertheless, I
was pointed to the new release of Flex Beta. So I quickly
downloaded it to see if there was any improvements. I think I found
one! I created a project and then for some reason flex builder
couldn't find my SDK. So I decided to delete the project and try
again. BUt when this happen...Holy *poopie* it deleted my entire
wwwroot. (Not stressed because I am running leopard(MacOSX) and I
have everything backed up with my timemachine). I thought I would
just test again. When you remove a project it doesn't specifically
remove just that Project, It removes the entire directory. I have
tested it twice! It also seems NOT to remove the project from the
Navigator field. Hope this isn't serious for you guys.

    Jeremy,
Can you please file a bug at

and provide your steps and system config and we'll definitely look
    into it.

  • Project Server 2010: PWA Removing Default Project Site Security Groups When Creating a New Project

I looked for this specific issue with Project Server 2010/PWA/SharePoint and could not find an exact answer... hopefully someone can help.
We are currently using Project Server 2010 and have a number of project site templates that are used dependent upon the enterprise project type selected. Each of these project site templates have unique permissions which should create the default security
groups on the project site upon publishing/syncing:
    <Project Name> Members
    <Project Name> Owners
    <Project Name> Visitors
<Project Name> Project Managers (Project Web App Synchronized)
<Project Name> Team Members (Project Web App Synchronized)
Web Administrators (Project Web App Synchronized)
Whether a user creates a project through PWA or Project Pro 2010 and imports the project into PWA, we get a weird result in the Site Permissions of the newly created project site. PWA will remove all default security groups from the project site template
and add a whole list of users in the Site Permissions list without groups.
Once the project is published and the project site is created, we can then go back and add those default security groups back in the project Site Permissions and even add a couple of custom groups without them being removed on all subsequent project syncs
    or publishing.
How do we get PWA to not overwrite the project site templates' security groups and place each user in the proper default security groups? At the same time, how is PWA adding a number of users into the Project Site Permissions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Paul,
Thanks for that information. Right now we are using the Test environment to turn the Auto-sync feature back on. I suspect that the reason this is happening is due to PWA groups/categories/security templates. There may be more than one PWA group that is "overwriting"
the default project site groups upon initial creation of the project. We will look further into the security settings to tighten up the policies.

  • Subtitle semi\colon question & subtitles take forever to remove from project

I have been having problems with two NTSC DVDs. The subtitles would line up perfectly in Subtitle Workshop put upon importing into Encore (CS3) they would lose sync after about 10 minutes or so. Turns out I was looking in the wrong area (at my MPEG files). On a whim I remembered reading somewhere about replacing the ":" in the subs with ";" and it worked fine!
But I don't know why it worked? I always thought only PAL subtitles needed to be in ";" ??
I went back to all of the subtitle files I did work with on prior projects and they had ":" as well? Those were NTSC how come they did'nt give me problems?
On a related note when I had to "remove subtitles" in CS3 it would take about 4-5 minutes before they cleared. It was faster to shut it down and re-open. Is it a CS3 thing? I know Encore 2 did not do that.

    You have it backwards.
NTSC subtitles must use the semi-colon (
;) delimiter because it's drop-frame. PAL timecode is not drop-frame so it always uses the colon (
    :) delimiter.
I'm guessing you didn't see problems before because either the video wasn't long enough, or you weren't watching as carefully? Hard to say, but Encore (and other DVD authoring apps that support subtitles) has always behaved in this way.
I'm confused by your related note. You mean to delete a subtitle track takes 4-5 minutes?

  • Yipee, Project completed Now need to remove all project off my Mac and save

I have completed a 1:17:00 minute project. I now want to remover everything off my Mac and save the project either on Disc or Lacie or ?. Is there a way to save everything, capture scratch, footage, etc to disc or a hard drive? I also need to know what I should be saving to ensure everything is there in storage. I would like to free the spaced used for this project. I do not want anything part of this project remaining on my Mac. I would like to burn this project to disc and if I need to ever need to open it again I have all the information there, without have to go back into my original tapes.
    Thank you!
    B C

I too just finished a big project (three performances of "The Nutcracker" with shot with two cameras, for a total of about 12 hours' worth of capture files, edited down to one final 2-hour presentation) so this thread is a good find for me! It's worth it just to know I don't have to save the contents of the Render Files and Audio Render Files folders, but I've still got something like 200 gb of data.
If you're looking for an alternate suggestion of how to save all the stuff, here's something I found: I went to Best Buy and bought a PC gamer accessory called a Black Widow, from a company called Thermaltake. It costs about $60 and connects via a USB port, and yes, it's Mac-compatible.
It has a slot in the top that accepts a bare SATA hard drive mechanism -- either a standard-size 3.5" or laptop-size 2.5." You just plug the drive mechanism into the slot and it appears on your Mac desktop, where it can be formatted, copied, etc., like any other drive. I already had several SATA drive mechanisms around from upgrading the internal drives on various Macs, so I figure all I need to do is copy all my project files onto one, put it back into its anti-static bag, and store it somewhere safe.

  • How to remove hung project in BCC

    Hi
I was trying to remove an epub project from the DB, but unfortunately the query deleted all the publishing projects.
There was one project that was performing deployment.
Now by deleting all the projects directly from the DB has caused the target agent to go in a hang situation.
Coz it is looking for a project that has already been removed.
It is now stuck at 0% and i am not able to cancel it or reset the agent to normal state.
Clicking cancel throws an exception that the project could not be found.
Can some one tell me how to clear my agent from this project.
    Thanks

Refer the doc to remove the hung projects in BCC using sql.
    http://atgkid.blogspot.com/2011/10/how-to-correct-projects-in-unknown.html
Or use trigger the event using the component /atg/epub/messaging/PublishingMessageSource to bring the project to previous state.
    Peace

  • Experiment Results: Removing/Replacing Projects, Media Manually

Experiment Results: Temporarily removing Events and Projects from library
REASON: I wanted to test removing events and especially ram-hungry projects from FCPX 10.1 to unclog the app a bit. I've been getting lots of spinning wheel time and dropdown windows saying projects unopened and unneeded were being loaded.
METHOD: I copied a library to another drive and experimented by manually removing some events made up entirely of projects.
Why not remove them? There seems to be hysteria about manually touching the library but no one relates an actual incident that highlights how things can go wrong.
I copied a library to another drive and experimented by manually removing some events made up entirely of projects.
NOTE: The projects are early versions of segments of feature length doc I most likely will never need to bring back in.
After removing an Event that had only Projects, FCPX opened no problem and a lot quicker.
ODDITY: Removed Events names still appeared with the twirly triangle beside them tho the event icon didn't appear and the Events were empty. I tried trashing them but couldn’t.
I then closed fcpx and removed media. Reopened no problem. Closed.
Returned Event folders and media to their proper place, reopened no problem. The projects were all there tho their icons were blank at first but then after a couple minutes pics started appearing in them and pretty soon all seemed normal. I opened projects, they worked, no problem.
    TO TRY?:
Moving projects & media manually between events—This may be where things get dicey, but you could do this manually with earlier versions of FCPX. It's not something I would do normally since ti's too easy to do in FCPX. But since I have this copy I might try it just to see what happens. If you don't experiment it's  not science it's religion. And since I wasn't eaten by monsters doing the above it makes me doubt the hysteria about this. Still something I wouldn't normally do.

Yes, I think you're right. In another discussion, a gent said his students had had corrupted files. That wasn't something I'd heard before, just the strictures against doing it.
Ok, so I was wrong. I still have this problem with slow performance due to all appearances having too many projects (earlier edited versions of segments of feature-length doc).
My only resort now appears to be to delete early project versions of segments (duplicates in prior versions of FCPX, snapshots now).

  • Removing Events, Projects from Library manually

    Hi
Has anyone removed either Events or Projects from the Library manually (deleting from package contents on drive)?
Any reason there could be a problem?
    best
    elmer

Ah, so you do have experience of what can go wrong. That's different. I just posted a discussion about my experiment.
You say do it inside, I see no way to do that. Not without copying the project''s media along with the project. And that happens with external consolidation too right. If I consolidate an event (projects only) outside FCPX, it will copy the media used in those projects also. I don't want to copy the original clips that constitute the 40+minutes of the first half or the 45 minutes I've reached with more to do of the second half.
The reason I would do it is that I'm having lots of twirling color ball and drop down windows saying projects that are unneeded are loading. Into the ram. I'm trying to figure out how to lessen the ram's load and it always seems to load old projects. Editing segments of a feature-length doc, I often experiment where I see a possible different route, and if I'm going to make more than a couple changes, or I'm not sure if I am, I duplicate the project and continue working. I don't think that's uncommon.
In FCP and earlier versions of FCPX you could easily get past the problem by: in FCP, duplicating the project and deleting old sequences (you could always copy back in), or in earlier FCPX, removing specific event and project folders from Final Cut Events and Final Cut Projects folders (you could always return).
THANKS for taking the time to help, I very much appreciate it.

  • Impact due to change in COA structure (removal of project segment)

    Hi,
We are implementing PA for a client. Their existing COA has projects as an accounting segment. Currently they consider "00000"(Default Project segment value) as operating project. So at any time the sum of balance of all the account combination having "00000" as project segment will give my operating balance.
Now in the new world, we will be doing away with the project segment from the COA. We are not planning to treat "00000" as a project code. We need to identify the Operating balance in the new system.
Is there any solution to handle this?
    Thanks in advance
    Govind V

    Hi
You can set up some indirect projects in Oracle Projects, and use them to charge for operating expenses.

  • Did Oracle remove OSB project support from OEPE (Eclipse) 12

Sorry, I have been out of the loop for a year. Helping out a project get some code done. Tried to import a project into my old version
of Helios based OEPE and it failed... version not supported. Installed the new Indigo based version and there is no OSB support.
Am I missing something.... besides OSB support.

OEPE 12c is not certified to wok with OSB plugin. Please use 11g version.

  • Removing deleted projects from welcome window

Even after I delete a project in the After Effects project file the name still shows in the Welcome Window. Is there a way to keep this from happening? I'm using CS4, XP SP3.

I'm sure it's in the AE prefs somewhere, but since I never use the welcome screen, I can't tell you excactly where. You may wish to open the file and look for "MRU" (most recently used), then delete the respective entries. The file can be found in C:\Documents and Settings\Commalot\Application Data\Adobe\After Effects\9.0\After Effects CS4 Prefs.txt.

  • A totally different project is played when project is played in full screen view and project is not editable

    Hi
I have problems with my imovie 09. After several days of work with an imovie project I was again about to start editing my project after startup of my mac. I played through the project and everything seemed fine, but when a movie clip was moved infront of a still picture instead of after, the whole project became uneditable and unplayable. When trying to play the project in full screen mode a totally different project is played. Shutting Imovie and/or the mac down does not help. In some cases I have managed to get the red cursor moving along in my project. However, no movie is played in the screen in the right hand corner, -it is totally black, and the audio is again from a totally different project. I am not able to export the project as all the export options are grey. Some of the other projects worked fine and some did not, -and the functionality seemed a bit random from time to time after rebooting/ exiting and reentering imovie. My first guess would be that this is a memory porblem. However, looking at my activity monitor it seems that I'm only using 1.73 GB of system memory of a total of 4....I have tried remove old projects and also quite a bit of clips in my library to minimize memory use. Now it seems that all the rest of the projects are working fine, but my current project is still corrupt. I have tried copying the first clip of my project into a blank project, but it will only play in full screen mode, not in the screen in the right hand corner.
I am working on a mac mini with 2.26 Ghz intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3.
I would be very grateful if anyone out there could help me out...Is my project totally corrupt beyond the point of no repair? Why has this happened, and how is it possible that something like this can happen without any kind of warning?
    Thanks!

Thanks for your reply AppleMan1958. Unforunately the playback problem was only experienced in the project described, - all other projects played fine....and I tried a lot of different ways to do it...so I really believe the whole project, including the playback (which did not work in the editing window in the right hand corner either, -nothing was shown there and the red marker line would not move across the project) just suddenly become totally corrupt...However, after deleting the project as described above and installing imovie11 I have done the whole thing over again and completed the project without problems this time.
But thanks for the tip anyway!

  • When I was using iMovie an error message came up saying to please move the play head to an open audio section when I was in searching for audio to insert into my project however there was no audio in that section of the project I was trying to add it to.

Not able to insert audio into IMovie due to an error message

I only have one video project that I ever published to iDisk. It didn't have any music or photo files attatched to it, just a few clips stitched together. I can play these clips right now in the Event Library (so I know the source files are on my computer), but strangely, under the Project Library, the project is not there. I'm almost certain that I didn't store the project on iDisk; I just completed the video and published it to iDisk (as a .mov file I think) for family to see. I've tried to figure out how to get iDisk to stop looking for this project to no avail.
I don't know if others have experienced this, but if I click on any project and on the menu bar select Share --> Remove From --> Media Browser... it lists iPod, iPhone, iPad, tv, Computer and MobileMe. Why would MobileMe be an option here? This is the case for any video project I select. Didn't iLife '11 and/or OSX 10.8 remove all mention of MobileMe? I wonder if this is part of the problem too.
Edit: I just removed every project I have from the Media Browser. Still no luck.
