Remove content from workflow

I received a request to remove content from workflow.
If the content is rejected, we still want to save it in case needed later.
So my plan was to change the contect type, and approve the content.
But the only way I can see to approve, is to go to the active workflow, and approve through all the steps.
Emails are sent to the approvers at each step. I would like to avoid workflow emails for these moved items.

You can not update SG during Criteria WF. So forget about that one...
Why not use the update event in the WF to watch for a particular flag to be set in metadata - e.g. xWithdrawFromWorkflow if this is set to true (in an Update) then use the wfExit fucntion to get out of the WF immediately without approval. Otherwise there is little to separate a real approval from an approval that was performed just to get an item out of WF.

Go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage. You will see all of your apps in there. You can tap on the app and you can delete it in the next window - if that is what you really want to do.
You can also unsync content with iTunes and keep all of your purchased content in iTunes on your computer, rather than deleting it all and having to download it again.
You can transfer all of your purchased content into iTunes, then deselect the content that you want to remove, and then sync with iTunes to remove the content that you deselected.

How do I remove content from my web page without deleting it?

I previously created a webpage using iWeb on the domain name that came with dot.mac (now Mobile Me). I want to remove it from the online page without deleting it (I may want to use the content later). I've used other software at work (Morello) and there you would "archive" it. Can anyone please advise how I do it on my Mac?

You can cause an entire page to not show in the site by using the Inspector/Page/Page pane to remove its link in the navbar. That would preserve that page until you decide to reintroduce it into the site.
As for part of a page, the only way I could think of doing that is duplicating the page and remove the duplicate from the navbar. Then edit the original page to remove the content you want gone.

The best thing you can do is simply use the Google request methods for removing content.
If you believe that content breaches privacy and that's somehow urgent then request an urgent removal:

If it's not urgent then there's a link on that same page for requesting the same.
You've made posts on a public site on the internet, google has come along and copied that public content, which they are entitled to do. It's not really Oracle's concern if you decide that information should be removed. Of course, if you have posted personal details such as names, address, credit card details etc. then Oracle will be quite happy to edit/remove such details from their own forum (they have before, I know for a fact) and if that information is know to exist on Google then maybe Oracle will help out (Justin will be able to give a definitive answer) by requesting the removal from google if the appriopriate google cache links are given, but I don't think they are obliged to.

InDesign CS6 bug - removes content from random pages

So I was scrolling through my document, when the wheel of doom came up and it was struggling to load m pages so InDesign crashed, which is normally fine but this time when i reopened, the content from 4 random pages completely disappeared, the blank pages still exist in the document but there is nothing on them except for the margins i had in place. And when I try to copy and paste a previous page onto one of these pages nothing happens, yet i can manipulate the margins on that page yet do nothing else.
Have lost quite a bit of work, i can make it again easily enough but just curious if anyone else is experiencing the same things with CS6? My boss is now considering using the cloud as my indesign is constantly crashing ....

What did you place? Text, images?
If images, what file type?
If images, did you link them or did you embed them or how have you imported them? Describe your steps.

Does cloud backup remove content from device

Hi all, I'm new to Verizon and cloud services. I set up auto backup to cloud on my new phone without realizing how little storage you get for free. Now I want to back up more important things than photos. I really need to know if backup removes photos from my phone when it backs them up, or just copies them. I feel like a noob for asking, but thanks for the help.

How does one remove content from iPod/iPhone using iTunes 11

Well, I can more or less get content on my mobile devices with iTunes 11 (managed manually, as I've always done). How do I get it off? I have a series of files formatted as audiobooks (continuing education). I put them on my iPhone (for in the office) and iPod (in the car to work). Now I'm done - and can't get them off. Going on the Music app doesn't allow me to remove an audiobook, and that's never been an option on the iPod. When I try to do it through iTunes, I get the following:
Pod: I can at least FIND the files on "On This iPod", but cannot find any option to delete (and I tried both del and command-del). I ended up having to set it up to sync, which I dont like as I typically (for space issues) keep my audiobook library on an external disk - anything I put on the Pod has to stay on the hard drive till I finish listening to it.
Phone: I can't view the content on the phone other than apps. Via iTunes, I can't even see what's there, much less do anything with it.
Am I missing something? There seems to be no option to manually manage media anymore - I can't do it without syncing, and that requires me to leave everything on my hard drive indefinitely.
If anyone's found a solution I missed (other than the process to revert back to 10.7, that is), I;d appreciate a point in the right direction. Mahalo!

To remove Audiobooks depending on the type of Audiobook ie a series of mp3 files you will find under music and probably have to deselect the album name to remove it. I don't have any of these as I download from Audible or I use Audiobook Builder to stictch together mp3 files into m4b files. To find these Click on Books you will immediately see a section for books (in reality ebooks). Scroll down past that and you will see Audiobooks where you can select and deselect. Deselect the required Audiobooks and Click Sync

Mx.controls.SWFLoader removes content from displaylist when resizing?

Hi!
I'm a Flex noob but AS3 old-timer.
I have a Flex app that loads in AS3 apps using SWFLoader - problem is that when the Flex app is resized the SWFLoader seems to take the loaded content off display list temporarily, the loaded AS3 apps are dependant on stage object and it will break them when stage comes unavailable.
Is is possible to fix this in mx.controls.SWFLoader somehow?
If not, how can I use flash.display.Loader instead?

Loader is a low-level control and can’t be used directly in Flex containers. I don’t think it is expected behavior that the SWFLoader gets removed from the stage, so I would want to know why and see if there is some simple setting that can prevent it.

I think the easiest way is to read the file - manipulate the data in your application - write the data to the file with deleting the old content (append=false)

After Approving Content from workflow, status of content is still 'Review'

Hi,
I am new to oracle UCM, so I have created a simple workflow for beginning. It has only one activity which triggers when some content of particular content type is checked. There is no script associated with any of the workflow events. Workflow is working fine except one issue.
When reviewer approves the content, workflow does not release the content and worflow is still shown in 'Active Workflows' list. I cant see the content even in search as status of content remains 'Review'.
Am i missing something ??
Please guide!!!

Mac Mail removed content from folders, brought back Archive folder

For the last two weeks, I've had no issues with Mac Mail on my new Macbook Pro running Mavericks.
My Mac Mail folders (not folders on the gmail side) were using my rules and filters accordingly. All of a sudden, without warning, my folders went completely blank.
I was using Mail's rules to send messages from Google Alerts to a folder, then things from Twitter and Facebook to another folder and I moved some messages into a third folder for future work.
The "Archive" box was not visible ... now, the Archive box has returned and there are no messages in my folders. I had about 45 unread google alert emails that are no longer showing.
I thought this was fixed because I went back to Mac Mail from Thunderbird to give it a shot. Worked fine with my gmail account. Now, it's back to being buggy again.
I've tried many other mail programs, but Mac Mail was by far the most productive for me. I've shut down and restarted and had the same thing.
The ONLY thing I've done to Mac Mail in the last 2 hours before it started was change a link in my signature and saved it. That was it. Unless that's the bug, I am pulling the rest of my hair out having these issues with Mac Mail. I do not use the web version of gmail very much because it just doesn't suit my workflow. Mac Mail was working great until Mavericks, then I got a new machine and after about two weeks, I tried it and it worked exactly like pre-Mavericks releases.
Now I've lost a bunch of folders and have no idea where those messages are. They were moved and are gone. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is going on here.

from this above , i can understand that Inbox ( 2.82 Gb ) and Sent ( 767.4 Mb ) and Drafts are real folders that contains actual files according to the current status on server .
what the **** the other folders contains , i can not get. I though those folders should have just show the same files available in the main folders , in different way, according to Folder focus. Am i right ??
apparently i suspect they just copied original files for some purpuses, insead of working as simple filter folders.
can anybody explain me , how to work this out and make my Mail app do not dublicate emails , but store them in appropriate way and show it to me .

Removing content from iPad

I'm new to iPad, and haven't used iTunes with a device before. In my first ever synch, I unintentionally managed to almost fill my iPad storage with music that I don't want on the iPad from my iTunes library. Is there any way of deleting music files just from the iPad? Do I have to go through a whole new clean-start synch? I've looked at the Advanced replace option, which lets me choose only contacts, calendars, mail accounts or notes to replace - nothing about music. Any advice appreciated by an elderly newcomer.

You can change what music you want to sync via the Music tab on the right-hand side of you computer's iTunes when you've connected and selected the iPad on the left-hand side - when you've made the selection(s) that you want just sync/apply it to the iPad and the current music contents will be replaced with what you've chosen.
If you have iOS 5+ on the iPad then you can delete music directly on the iPad by swiping across individual tracks, or pressing and holding for a second or two an artist / album on the Artist / Album selection screen, which should give you an 'x' on its top left corner. But when you next connect to your computer's iTunes they may then get copied back to the iPad, so it's probably best to do it via your computer's iTunes.

Remove content from icloud

How can I permanently delete shows, movies from iCloud? These are free episodes that I don't like and wont watch again.

The movies are not actually in your iCloud storage, they are links to the movies in the iTunes Store. What you are seeing is your purchase history and as such cannot be deleted.
You can however hide your purchases, which you can do from the QuickLinks > Purchased option from the main page in the iTunes Store on your computer.

Removing Content from my iPad without having the Cloud

I am trying to clean my iPad of all iTunes Media. I have removed the songs, videos, and such but still have them there with a cloud. I would like to have a clean slate. I have everything backed up on my iMac for upload to my iPad later.

Those items are not on the iPad. The cloud icon means that they are in iCloud and can be downloaded by tapping on the cloud. You can hide those items by going to Settings> iTunes & App Store>Show all>Music>Off and Videos>Off.

ITunes Match removes content that you paid for

iTunes Match will DESTROY playlists, your library and will in fact remove content from your library; this content can mean items that you burned into iTunes AND items that you purchased from iTunes (and have receipts for)

What is so disturbing is, that depending upon WHICH customer service agent you get, you may or may not get your files replaced! DO NOT USE iTunes MATCH or GENIUS if you have a large library. My library is 34,000+ songs (mostly purchased from Apple) 119 Music Videos (all Purchased from Apple) 504 Movies & 2200+ Television Episodes (movies and TV shows ALL purchased from Apple).... iTunes Matched reeked havoc with my music playlists, it or Genius caused so many duplicates in my Movies and TV shows it was crazy and Apple's customer service has fallen off tremendously in the last couple of years. My problem with Apple iTunes Match goes back to the beginning of iTunes Match, and I spent 4 years asking via email if iTunes Match was the culprit. FINALLY I got a tech that was honest and admitted that they were aware of the problem.
The problem exists because Apple's iTunes library (the store having a MARVELOUS selection of Classical Material) is ill equipped to deal with Classical Music Albums without splitting them into numerous albums and confusing "songs" that have the same name. It also happened with some of my Rock Collection when the files/songs shared the same name, it would assume it was a duplicate and remove one, effectively gutting an album that I had paid for.
So the question is why doesn't Apple see fit to at least restore the music that was legitimately purchased from the iTunes Music store that it's iTunes Match system has removed? "At your own risk" should at least mean that the iTunes Reps are honest and knowledgeable concerning the issue. "As is" is one thing, and "Good Faith" is another! If you can't answer this question, please bring back the customer service we had when Steve Jobs was alive. (I've been with you guys since 1988!!!!)

Oh goodness, I thought if I shared my situation that someone, even a Apple rep might say, "Hey I have a solution for you!"
The poster answered your question. Apple does not participate in the forum, and as users we wouldn't know why Apple does what it does. And, it is a violation of the TOS of the forum to speculate about Apple policy.
In response to the second post, you are not going to get an Apple rep here, since they do not participate in the forum. Unfortunately, no one here would be able to help you with your problem, since we are users, and do not have access to the iTunes Match system. You will have to deal with them on the situation. And yes, I did read that you have been dealing with them for 4 years, but again, that is not anything we can change. Good luck.
