Remove pin- iphoto- places

I will try to be more descriptive.( I am new to all this) In iphoto if you go to albums, click on any picture, at the right lower corner of pic there is a" i", when you click on that, a window opens, where you will see "photo place" u can type in the state or the country where the pic was taken, and a the map will show. You will see "drop a pin" , click on that and a pin (red) will drop on the location of where the picture was taken.
Okay, here is my question: how do you remove that pin for the location on the map ?
I have not found that information in the videos. Any info. or direction with this would be appreciated
Thank you !

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You can't assign a location to a photo and not have it have a pin when viewed in the info pane or the Places mode. That's what adding a location does. If you want to remove it from the Places mode remove the location info from the photo.
If you add a photo with location info to a book and had a map page in the book you don't have to have that photo be resented. You can select which photos to use in the map.

  • Difficulty accessing/removing a pin in places

I have a pin in places that I don't know how it got there or how to get rid of it. I have tried the window/manage my places pulldown, but the location I want to delete isn't there (I didn't create this location, I don't know where it came from). I also tried clicking on the i in the bottom right corner and manually changing the location for each photo, but some of them wouldn't move after that and now I can't access the pictures associated with that pin at all! When I click on this particular pin it turns red and then blue but nothing else happens. This is so frustrating! Any help please?

I am having a similar problem. Somehow a bunch of my photos (with no GPS data in them) got assigned to Mount Rainier.
    - Mount Rainier is no longer listed in Manage My Places (I thought I could fix the problem by removing it from that list)
    - When I click on the "i" on these photos and then the "X", Mount Rainier is not removed.
    - If I click on the "i" on these photos and assign a new place, the photo lists the new place in the "i" dialog and it shows up under both the new place and Mount Rainier. If I then click "i" and "X" on the place name, it reverts to Mount Rainier.
    - I updated to the latest iPhoto, but that hasn't helped.
    - I tried the "Rescan for Location" menu command, but that didn't help.
    - I tried exporting one of the photos and then reimporting it. The reimported photo does not have a place (good), but I lost the original date/time of when the photo was taken (bad).
Any ideas how to clear out the bad place information without losing the other information that I want to keep? I suppose I could include title/keywords when exporting, make a note of the original date/time and then "adjust date and time" after importing, but that's a lot of work for more than a few such photos (I have over 30 in this state).

  • How can I remove photos from Places on iPhone 3Gs

I would like get rid of the photos on my iPhone that show up when I go to Places in the Photos app on my 3Gs.  I've already deleted the photos from iPhoto and resynced.  They are no longer in iPhoto nor in my iPhone galleries - but they still show up on the phone under various Pins in Places.  How do I get rid of them???
    TIA

    Anybody???
There must be a way to remove the photos under "Places" on my iPhone.

  • No photos associated with pin in Places

I have a problem with places in iPhoto 11, OS version 10.7.4 on a MacBook Pro. I imported some photos that were geotagged incorrectly, then deleted them. I then re-imported the photos, this time correctly geotagged.
The incorrect geotag info has remained in the iPhoto database and is showing up in Places. When I go to the Places menu and click on pins representing the deleted photos, a blank gray screen with no photos opens up. How do I get rid of those pins?
I have fixed preferences, removed the iPhoto plist, and repaired the  iPhoto database and permissions. Nothing helps. The phantom pins remain.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I also have been using Aperture, and went as far as editing all the geotag metadata inside Aperture for the suspect files. In Aperture, if I go to places, all the pins are in the correct locations.
If I switch to iPhoto and go to the same set of pictures, there are a bunch of phantom pins on the map without any pictures.
Wish I knew how to get iPhoto to rebuild it's metadata cache. Aperture is clearly reading the information correctly from the files.

  • IPhoto Places map home button does not show all photo locations in one extent

I recently started populating location information for my photos in iPhoto 2011. Some are pre-loaded from my iPhone, but I also manually added locations for other photos/events. Now I have locations assigned both in the U.S. and in Europe, but when I try to view them all in one extent (via the "home" location button on the Places map), the map centers on Europe and I can't even see the U.S. Did I accidentally change a setting for the "home" location on the map? I cannot find a menu that shows options for the "home" location. Is it possible that locations are too far away from each other to see them all at once? If so, is there a way to reset the center of the map so I don't have to pan over from Europe every time I want to look at the U.S. locations (which is 99% of the time)?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I think I figured it out.
It appears that the iPhoto Places map centers on the extent with the greatest number of individually geo-tagged photos. Rather than centering the map to the area in the middle of all your locations (i.e. one location, one "point"), it actually prioritizes locations by how many individually tagged photos are at that location (i.e. one location, many potential "points").
Secondarily it may be a screen size issue. When I falsely tag a bunch of photos in Hawaii, then I can only see HI and mainland U.S. (no Asia or Europe).
I guess Apple assumes you'll want to see most where you have the most tagged photos. This is unfortunate, however, as I tend to tag overseas locations by the entire Event (many photos placed at one location) vs my domestic photos which may or may not have locations. I guess it'll even out over time, but still, it would be nice to be able to set a specific "home" location or viewing extent.

  • GPS location on iPhone 4 pics does not displaying in iPhoto Places

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 4, and I noticed that the pictures I've taken do not seem to contain GPS location information. I was hoping to use them to geotag my pictures and access them via iPhoto Places feature, but they do not have any location info.  I have turned "On" location services for the camera.

Problem solved - the information was not transferred with the photos when I uploaded them to Dropbox via PhotoSync app and then downloaded them to my iMac.  Not sure where the info got dropped, but it was in the original files so I was able to recover it.

  • Ipad3, using iPhoto, running the latest IOS6, I'm a photographer, please tell me why has the delete (X) been removed in iPhoto?

Ipad3, using iPhoto, running the latest IOS6, I'm a photographer, please tell me why has the delete (X) been removed in iPhoto?

Ralph, again thanks for the input, but I respectfully disagree.  I have been using iPhoto with the iPad3 since it was launched.  I have taken and imported at a minimum 6-7k pictures and have used the same methodology of editing and deleting photos (inside of iPhoto app), using the delete (X) on the task bar.  I'm an IT project manager as well as an certified software consultant, in other words, I have a better than average knowledge and understanding of apps and the functionality.  My only point is that something that was quite functional and very user friendly has now become far more difficult. It was only 9 bucks and a pretty good little piece of software, I'll just find something else that is less time consuming and will check back for iPhoto update and from time to time.  Again, thank you for your feedback.

  • Spot removal pins disappear after photoshop install

Yesterday I installed Photoshop CC. Since the install, the spot removal pins in Lightroom don't show up. This is the case both for spots that were removed prior to installing photoshop, and for new spot removals. The spot is removed, but I cannot see where the spot was (due to no in) nor where the data to remove the spot is coming from, so I can't move the target area either. This makes quite a dent in the functionality of spot removal in Lightroom, so if anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. I assume that this is somehow related to the photoshop install - there have been no other software updates, installs or removals on the computer at all during this period.

Hit the "H" key while using the spot tool to get the circles back.

How can I remove the iPhoto upgrade to my iMac OSX 10.2.8? Can the upgrade return my library?

With respect, we'll need rather more detail than that.
In general, you can only roll back an upgrade to a library with a back up. No back up, no roll back.

  • Full Stock Removal & Full Stock Placement

Assume, in the source storage bin "B1" we have stock of 100 qtys. (Storage type "S1") and the destination storage bin is "B2" (Storage type "S2").
Suppose, a process order has been created for 75 qtys. and corresponding to that a TR generated for 75 qtys..
So, material has to be transfered from source bin BIN "B1" (Storage type "S1") to destination bin "B2" (Storage type "S2").
So, when we create a TO for this TR &  confirm the TO, system picks only 75 qtys. from the source bin "B1" (storage type "S1") & transfers 75 qtys. to the destination storage bin "B2" as per the TR qtys.. (instead full 100 qtys. is to be transfered)
Now, the clients requirement is that, complete 100 qtys. is to be transfered from the source bin "B1" (Storage type "S1") to destination bin "B2" (Storage bin "S2").
In the configuarion settings for Storage type 'S1', "Full stock removal is activated"  and "Retun stock to same bin is active"  (SU Mngt. is active. ). As the SU Mngt. is active, we are not able to un-check the indicator "RETURN STOCK TO SAME BIN".
But even though the above setting is active, while stock removal & placement, the system is considering only 75 qtys.and transering the 75 qtys. from "B1" to "B2", instead at the time of stock removal system should consider the full 100 qtys. &  full stock 100 qtys. is to be transfered to the destination bin "B2".
Also, if i check the indicator "OVERDELIVERIES" for movement type 319, we are able to transfer the full 100 qtys. to destination bin "B2", but we have a situattion not to check this indicator for movement type as this will effect for all the warehouse numbers as well as all the storage types.
So, Please help me, how can we achieve the "FULL STOCK REMOVAL & FULL STOCK PLACEMENT" .....
What STATERGIES to be selected & any other configuration is invovled in this....please let me know.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
    Please check this thread:

As I remember (I'm not before SAP, so maybe I'm mistaken) you can define movement type WH-specific.

  • IPhoto: Places map opens during other functions

While trying to sort photos, make albums, etc, the Places map will open on its own.  When it does this, all of the photos I have selected become unselected.  There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.  Places has been disabled in iPhoto so it shouldn't be active at all.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • IPhoto Places, how to edit, or change

    I have iPhoto 11, 9.4.3.
I would like to change the name on pin for my home location in Places.   Somehow, the pin for my home in Wisconsin got named for my place of birth in Ireland.  I'm sure I did it somehow, but cannot seem to be able to change it!  I could remove the pin, but then I would have to remove the pin from every photo taken in my home.
I've tried the pull down menu, adding the correct address, but that does not stick.  When I go to another photo, we're back to the same problem and when I go back to the first edited photo, it did not stick!
How can I edit this mistake?
    Thanks
    Geraldine

Am I foolish!    Just realized all I had to do was erase what was in the box right next to the pin and put in the correct address.
Maybe someone else made this same mistake!

  • Aperture 3 Import Iphoto Places

Dear All, I just installed Aperture 3 Trial. Imported all my iphoto library to aperure 3. Projects photos and faces are all ok but i don't see any places pin in the map. What can I do?

I reported it as a bug to Apple, with specific instructions on how to reproduce the problem.
I suggest you do the same.
You can see what I found to be the specific situation in which Places is, and isn't, imported from iPhoto to Aperture in this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11229662#11229662
At least in my research, there is a workaround: Take all the Events in iPhoto which you assigned Places data at the Event level (those are the problems for Aperture Import, I've found), go into the event, select all photos in that event, and assign a Place location to them all. For whatever reason, when I assign the Place to the individual photos it gets transferred to Aperture; when I assign Place location to the Event as a whole, it does not. Buggy, but at least there is a workaround.
I am waiting for Apple to fix this bug and another one before I make the transition from iPhoto 09 to Aperture 3. In the meantime, I was just playing with A3 to see whether I like it. I do. I just don't want to lose any of the work I already did in iPhoto when I move my 17,000 photos over to Aperture.
BTW, the other thing Aperture loses when I import my iPhoto library are the Titles I've assigned to photos. A picture in iPhoto that has a meaningful Title I assigned to it gets imported into Aperture as just DSC12345xxx, losing my manual labor. Not acceptable.
