Remove the datafile not belong to database

ASM disk +data filled with datafile and onlinelogs not belong to the database.
I have created the standby datbase from primary using copy datafiles . first time it failed.
but files were copied into disk. without removeing the old datafile gain created the standby database
standby datbase working fine. no problem
but disk with filled with old file and online logs
I would like to know how to remove the files from ASM (+data)
how to identify the files not belong to the database.

export ORACLE_SID=+ASM
asmcmd
you will see disckgroups name on the top level. Run help command
oracle@dw5: ~$ asmcmd
ASMCMD> ls
DAG_01/
IXG_01/
ASMCMD> help
asmcmd [-v] [-a <sysasm|sysdba>] [-p] [command]
The environment variables ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID determine the
instance to which the program connects, and ASMCMD establishes a
bequeath connection to it, in the same manner as a SQLPLUS / AS
SYSDBA. The user must be a member of the SYSDBA group.
Specifying the -v option prints the asmcmd version number and
exits immediately.
Specify the -a option to choose the type of connection. There are
only two possibilities: connecting as "sysasm" or as "sysdba".
The default value if this option is unspecified is "sysasm".
Specifying the -p option allows the current directory to be displayed
in the command prompt, like so:
ASMCMD [+DATAFILE/ORCL/CONTROLFILE] >
[command] specifies one of the following commands, along with its
parameters.
Type "help [command]" to get help on a specific ASMCMD command.
commands:
help
cd
cp
du
find
ls
lsct
lsdg
mkalias
mkdir
pwd
rm
rmalias
md_backup
md_restore
lsdsk
remap

  • Removing the 'music note' - Can i control what album cover is displayed as the cover album under the artists tab in the Music app?

Ive searched for the longest and havent found a solution to removing the 'music note' . For example, i might have 10 albums under a particular artist, 1 of which i have no cover art for and it seems that thats the album chose to display. No matter the year or particular order the album falls in under the artist. Most artists that have a missing album cover dont show it but the ones that do still annoy me. I know im not the first to ask this so what can be done? Help me out
P.s. this is an issue ive had since the ipad 2 as the music app hasnt changed. Im running the latest software (5.1)

Its not the cover art itself, I know how to ADD album art.. Some albums just dont have cover art for whatever reason - problem is, that these albums are randomly chosen as the first album cover of an artist in the music library on my ipad. For example, i have a local artist album with no cover - he has 4 albums but the one thats diplayed at their name is of course the music note indicating theres no album artwork.
So why the **** does it choose the ONE album with no artwork and is there a way i can designate which album i want displayed for a particular artist?

I have a page showing up when I run my Keynote presentation that does not belong there. It's not in the navigation area so there is no obvious way to delete it—how do I remove it?

Not sure if these will help... In the navigator view, is there a triangle next to the slide that appears before the slide that does not belong? If so, click it and you might find the extra slide in there. Or try View Menu:Light Table and see if you can find it in there.

  • I can only backup the datafiles but not the control files and SPFiles

    Hello, all,
I am using the Oracle 10g on a linux server which runs redhat 9. I want to backup the whole database to the disk, but not the flash recovery area. It is /rawdata. I will show how I configure the backup part in EM. Is there anything wrong?
    1. the ARCHIVELOG is on
    2. under Administration, in the All Initialization Parameters, I remove the string value of “log_archive_dest_1”. After that, I go to the SPFile and remove the string value of “log_archive_dest_1”
    3. configure backup settings and policies. The Disk Backup Location field is set to /rawdata. Select Image Copy for Disk Backup type. Test Disk backup is successful.
    4. go to Policy page. Select “Automatically backup the control file and server parameter file (SPFile) with every backup and database structural change.) input /rawdata into the filed: Autobackup Disk Location
Select “Optimize the whole database backup by skipping unchanged files such as read-only and offline datafiles that have been backed up”
Select “Retain backups that are necessary for a recovery to any time whin the specified number of days (point-in-time recovery)
    Accept the default of 31days
    5. go to Schedul Backup
    6. select customized from the backup Strategy drop-down menu. Select the Whole Database
    7. in the Options page, select “Full backup” in the Backup Type section. Select “Online Backup” in the Backup Mode section. Select “back up all archived logs on disk” in the Advanced section.
    8. in the Setting page, select “Disk”
    9. in the Schedule page, accept the default job name and description. Select Immediately to execute the job immediately.
    10. just submit the job.
After several minutes, the job is failed while the Prebackup and Postbackup are succeeded. The log says:

the string value in the field of 'log_archive_dest_1" under "All Initialization parameters" is "LOCATION=+DATADG/orcl10g/". The same value was in the field under SPFile.

Why the system keeps trying to find files under /rawdata? It is the destination, not the source.

  • How to import the datafiles from one database to another

    Hi,
I have got some datafiles from the existing database(Consider it as Database A), but it has been removed as of now.
I am having the datafiles and control files of it.
I have freshly installed one oracle Database(database B), I am planning to load those datafiles in the newly installed
    database.
Is it possible, if so wat is the procedure.
Both the databses are Oracle 11g.
    Help me out of this.
    Thanks.
    Regards
    Gatha

    Hi,
As you said that you have data files and Control files, then using import quite no possbile, but you need to do it manually (as it exits in the Source System in same path).
Initially, you copy these files from the Source System to Destination System that is
    Data Files and Control Files
Next, you will get the DBID from the controlfile backup is you have Example :-
    CTL_SP_BAK_C-1507972899-20070228-00, then " 1507972899" is the DBID,
Try to use the RMAN for this
    example :-
    Open the rman
    set dbid 1507972899
then you need to build the initilizaition file to start an instance based on the Configuration
or Copy the spfile from the back from source system if exits.
Startup the DB in mount mode.
    You might get the error
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
Now restore spfile from 'backup path' where you have copied files
    startup force nomount
    Now the instance is started
    connect to DB as sysdba
check the control file parameter values and online redo Log files paths (Log_Archive_dest)
Restore the old control file from backup, since the new instance must the know where the files are located
    restore controlfile from 'backup path'
    then shutdown the DB
    start in mount mode
restore the DB - restore database
Note: Recovery is dependent on the available archived (and online) redo logs.
    Final step will be Alter database open resetlogs;

  • Mailbox cleanup could not completely remove the mailbox for user

    Hello.
I have Exchange 2010SP3 2 DAG member in cluster.
Recently i have warning in app log on a second DAG member:
Mailbox cleanup could not completely remove the mailbox for user GUID.Encountered error 0xfffffae8. Should this message continue to persist for the same mailbox, it may be indicative of a problem that requires further investigation.
I read all post wich say just unmount and mount database.
I can't find any user wich have guid containted in error.
So that i need to do?
Can i use StartDAGmaintenance and reboot a server, then after reboot use StopDAGmaintenance?

    Hi,
I suggest to refer to this blog to find this mailbox by GUID.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/ehlro/archive/2010/04/22/how-to-find-the-object-that-belongs-to-a-guid.aspx
Then check which database this mailbox belongs to, dismount and mount this database.
    Best Regards.

  • Taking the datafile offline when the database is in NOARCHIVELOG mode

My question is when the database is in No Archive log mode i'm not able to take the datafile offline.
When i tried in my computer i have noticed fallowing.
    case1:

    case3:
I have tried the command alter database datafile 6 offline drop; (in NOARCHIVELOG mode) and it is showing the same effect as alter database datafile 6 offline; ( in ARCHIVELOG mode).
*In the NOARCHIVELOG mode are we really dropping the datafile to take the datafile offline? Will you please tell me the effect of keyword drop.

  • 'alter database open resetlogs' didn't reset one of the datafiles

I've spent the last three and a half weeks recovering an oracle database (11g 64-bit linux) because of a corrupt block in an online redo log (which I thought was being written to multiple locations). I restored the files, moving some of them around in the process; recovered to the latest possible point; moved files back to their proper location; ran 'alter database open resetlogs'; and one of the datafiles (from a bigfile tablespace) didn't get reset. I checked afterward, and it was marked offline. I do not remember placing the file offline, and cannot find such a statement in my last 300 sqlplus commands, which includes commands well before I renamed this file and the commands surrounding the rename.
Restoring/recovering the database again will take too long, and is a remarkably poor option. Even if the database had opened correctly, the affected tablespace would not have been touched in the two or three minutes the database was open. Is there any way to force oracle to reset the logs again or otherwise fix this one file to mark it with the same date? Only allowing the resetlogs option after an incomplete recovery seems a poor restriction, especially, if files can slip through like this. I'm suspecting there is someway to just fix the checkpoint values for the tablespace, but I don't know where to begin. This particular file is <5% of the database, so if I have to do some sort of backup/restore with just it, that is probably doable.

    0: 11.1.0.6.0 on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP2
    1: rman
    backup format '/opt/oracle/backup/mydatabase_%Y-%M-%D_%s_datafiles_%p' (database);
    backup format '/opt/oracle/backup/mydatabase_%Y-%M-%D_%s_archivelogs_%p' archivelog all delete input;
    backup format '/opt/oracle/backup/mydatabase_%Y-%M-%D_%s_control_%p' current controlfile spfile;
    2:
restore database; --not sure what datafiles were restored with this
restore datafile X; --several files were restored individually
recover database until scn 1137554504; -- I verified that all datafiles were on the same checkpoint after this finished. Not having placed any files offline, I didn't bother checking that.
    3:
    SQL> alter database open resetlogs;
    Database altered.
    Elapsed: 00:04:20.34
    SQL> quit
Disconnected from Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options
4: Nothing in the tablespace has been touched since I ran 'alter database open resetlogs;'. It also appears that oracle placed the file offline (without me telling it to do so) and left it that way through the resetlogs, leaving the tablespace unusable during the time it was opened. The only things that would be out of date are the 'RESETLOGS_CHANGE#', the 'CHECKPOINT_CHANGE#', and associated values. It's still at the last scn before the resetlogs, and the system has been in archivelog mode the entire time. This is all information that Oracle could be tracking, and from a program logic standpoint there is no reason why Oracle cannot tie together the changes before the resetlogs, the resetlogs command and the changes after the resetlogs into a new, continuous string of changes. I assume there is some such feature in a high-caliber program because I'm actually a programmer (who would have included such advanced tracking features), and I've become a DBA out of necessity. I admit to not knowing all of the oracle DBA commands, hence me posting here before doing the work of submitting a request to metalink.
5: I consider it a poor restriction because it doesn't always reset the logs on all files, and as far as my knowledge goes it has rendered my 3.5 week recovery process WORTHLESS. I suppose it could cause numerous errors, especially if the database wasn't cleanly shut down, but having the ability to do something equivalent to datafiles that oracle skipped the process on seems quite useful in my situation. I guess the more fundamental problem to complain about is that it would apply such changes to only some of the files, while leaving others unusable, instead of just giving me an error that some files weren't going to be reset, but I think I'm done venting my Oracle frustrations for now.
Am I stuck with a tablespace that I cannot bring online with the database open, or is there some sort of 'alter database datafile' command (or anything else) that I know nothing of that will fix the straggling file?

  • Removing the database from Linux

What I have to delete (files) in order to remove my database from my computer (Linux) ?
    Thanks,
    Paul

Sounds like you want a clean system ... no trace of Oracle. Under Linux, the correct way of doing that would be
    1) For each database, use DBCA to remove/drop the database.
Depending on the version of the DBCA, you may need to follow up with manually removing the "Oracle Data" directories, the "Flashback" directories (especially if they changed over time), and the "Admin" directories (where the alert.log and other trace files are kept)
    2) For each set of software (ORACLE_HOME), use the Oracle Universal Installer to remove the Oracle software.
Depending on the version of the Oraclee Universal Installer, and which patches have been applied, you may need to manually remove the directories under the ORACLE_HOME
    3) Manually remove the Oracle Inventory, as identified by the oraInst.loc file
    4) Manually remove the /etc/oratab, /etc/oraInst.log and (if RAC has been installed) the /etc/oracle directory tree.
Under Linux, you can cheat - skip the DBCA and OUI portions of the first 2 steps and go to the manual deletes.
In Linux, I typically install everything Oracle under /u01/app/oracle as my ORACLE_BASE ... to clean the system, I simply "rm -rf /u01/app/oracle /etc/oratab /etc/oraInst.loc /etc/oracle"
Or better, just start up a saved VMWare clone, if this is not a real system.

  • Use the datafile of one dataabse in another database

    Hi All,
I am using R-Linux and oracle 11g2.0.3. I have a DB (A) which have number of datafiles and users. I have created one more DB (B) in the same server. From the DB A, i would like to take the data of user1 into the DB - B without export/import. I would like to take user1 datafiles from the A DB and put it in the B DB. Is it possible to do?
    Thank you in advance.

As SomeoneElse said, look at Transportable Tablespaces.  But you need to understand some basic concepts about files, tablespaces, users, etc.  Concepts which your question hints that you don't understand.
A data file is the physical implementation behind the abstraction that is a tablespace.  Data files and tablespaces do not 'belong' to a user.  A tablespace may very well contain objects from multiple users, and a given user may very well have objects in multiple tablespaces.  Now, IF you have a tablespace with the objects of only one user, and that user has all his objects in that one tablespace .. and if the only objects that user owns are tables and indexes (segments) then transportable tablespace might work for you.  However, you must also be aware of the fact that if the user has any stored procedures (procedures, packages, triggers, etc) those objects are stored apart from his segments in his tablespace ....I've never actually done a transportable tablespace, but that looks like a 'gotcha' that you will need to consider.

  • How to remove the tasks which are not manually recoverable?

How to remove the tasks which are not manually recoverable?
I tried performing manual recovery for the BPEL processes but there are few tasks which cant be manually recoverable..
Could you please tell me how to remove those tasks and also tell me which information in the console is the task_id in the database?

This article explains how to cleanup bpel process instances, you can find task instance id by searching for data in payload using api.

I've done some research on the SQLite database. Whenever Aperture hangs up (like during auto-stack or opening the filter hud) there are thousands of SQLite queries happening. These SQLite queries cause massive file I/O because the database is stored on the disk as 1kb pages. However, the OS is caching the database file; mine's only 12MB. I'm trying to track down some performance numbers for SQLite on osx but having trouble.
It's starting to look like most of the speed problems are in the libraries that Aperture uses instead of the actual Aperture code. Of course, that doesn't completely let the developers off the hook since they choose to use them in the first place.
Oh, and if anyone is curious, the database is completely open to queries using the command line sqlite3 tool. Here's the language reference http://www.sqlite.org/lang.html
Hmm, just found this. Looks like someone else has been playing around in the db http://www.majid.info/mylos/stories/2005/12/01/apertureInternals.html

  • Can not input data when removed the value for seleciton condition

    Dear Experts,
We met a very strange issue for the IP.
We create a aggregation level and relatd query for user to key in data.
We have a filter in the aggregation level.
It will set value for A,B,C,D
When user opent he report, system will require user to key in the value for A,B,C,D.
Now we found that if we key in value for B, cell is input ready.
If we removed the value in for the B in the selection condition (I mean the value of B is empty, this means tha all the value of B will display in the report), we can not key in data.
Could you kindly let me kow the reason?
    Thanks and best regards
    Alex yang

    Dear Experts,
    Many thanks for your information.
I know the principle for the IP.
But I think you may misunderstanding this issue due to my incorrect explaination.
First, we think the aggreagtion level is ok. This is due to that for the B in my example, we set its as column value in the query.
This is means for each record in the IP query, it has only one B value to reflect it.
But strange things is that if we set fixed value for B, IP input is ok.
If we removed fixed value for B, IP function is error.
Now, we will test if we key in multi value for B whether IP input function is ok or not.
Any update, I will inform you.
    Thanks and best regards
