We are working with Microsoft Project Server 2013 installed with Sharepoint server 2013
We have two users U1 and U2 and Admin account as A1
U1 created a Project P1 and gave owner access to U2
after that Admin A1 removed U1 from owners list but still U1 is able to browse project with same access level.
We want to Remove access of U1 from Project P1 with help of admin account.

Change the project owner from U1 to U2 in the project information page in PWA. From the project center, click on the project P1, go to the project detail page and update the "project owner" field for U2.

Then U2 must set himself as the status manager of the project. Ask the user U2 (be aware that this operation CANNOT be done by the admin) to open the project in MS Project, insert the status manager column and set his name (U2) for all tasks of the project.
Save and publish the project.
What is Status Manager ? I can't find such permission level anywhere in Project Server 2013

I have done some more debugging on this and have narrowed down the issue to the
location where my initialcontext is being obtained.
so if i register my mbean as a non-admin account and do an operation on the managed
resource which fetches initial context, i get the below exception. This is how
i get my initialcontext

RAR: Risk resolution options , Remove access from user is disabled

In RAR , After risk analysis, if we click on risk description 3 Risk resolution options are there.

Delimit access for user
In these options mitigate risk only working.I am using GRC SP 5.
How about other two options , save button is disabled.How to enable this?
can we remove/delimit access to user using these options? any body tested these options?

These functionalities do not exist in the tool and these buttons have been in the RAR for past 2 years. SAP wants clients to use CUP for removing or delemiting access so I highly doubt this will ever work.

Group Policy changes cause Access Denied error for Domain Admin account

Hi All,
I am battling to get WSUS to work, and I think the route cause is problems editing the domain and domain controller group policy objects.
We have 1 DC, approx 20 clients. 1 GPO for DC, 1 GPO for clients. Ther e is a link to the default domain GPO in our staff (users) OU, I don't know if it should be there or not.
I log in as domain administrator, right-click the domain GPO in GPMC, click Edit.
Find the setting I want to edit (specify intranet microsoft update service location), double click.
Change something, click OK.
I get error:
Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continute.
Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005
(E_ACCESSDENIED)).
I have followed the steps in the links posted by Brent in another post called: "restricting-domain-admin-account-to-edit-group-policies" (no links allowed for my account yet sorry) and the user does have edit settings, delete, modify security delecation.
PLEASE NOTE: the solution may very well be something very simple/basic. I am reasonably computer savvy, but have just upgraded the whole network for an NGO on a voluntary basis. Never seen a sever before I came here, but I'm the best they have. Please bare
that in mind when offering advice :)

More diagnostic info:
Inside GPMC, there's Group Policy Results.
If I right-click, Result Wizard, choose this computer, it works fine showing default domain controllers policy with alert that it's enforced.
If I browse for another PC (it comes up as Domain\PC name), click Next, I get error:
Failed to connect to DOMAIN\PCNAME due to the error listed below. Ensure that the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service is enabled on the target computer, and consult the event log of the target computer for further details.
Details: the RPC server is unavailable.
If you need the recent related events, I will post them. I also checked that service on the client - it's automatic and started.
PPS Clients are all Win 7, PCs are 32bit, laptops are 64. Server is Windows Server 2012 Datacenter. WSUS when clicking Help -> About from the snap-in/GUI: 6.2.9200.16384.
PPPS Directory browsing for the whole WSUS object in IIS is enabled, thanks to SorinAlbu over at Spiceworks post WSUS and IIS.
PPPPS Launching IE and loading http://servername:8530/iuident.cab fails 404 error from both clients and server. That file in C:\Program Files\Update Services\WebServices\Root\iuident.cab doesn't exist. Maybe because we recently removed the WSUS role and reinstalled
it, to check if something went wrong the first time? It's all been configured using the snapin/GUI, but the new installation of the role hasn't yet connected to the Microsoft Update servers.

How can I set up a new user account that has access to iPhoto data on Admin account?

I have set up a new user account for my son. I have set up his parental controls but I would like him to have access to the data in iPhoto and iTunes from the Admin account. I do allow him access to the applications with the parental controls, but they are empty. Thanks for your help!

Is your regular user an Admin?
Yes. So is the new account I tried to set up.
Are these apps installed in the main /Applications folder?
Yes.
Are they App Store apps or installs from disc/download?
Both, but App Store purchases are a clear minority, and aren't much of a problem, due to the ease of re-downloading and activating. The downloaded programs are the ones that present the problems. I have not been good about archiving serial numbers and the like, mostly because I've never had a problem like this before.
What specific apps are you having trouble with? For instance, I know that MS Office and Adobe CS5 for perfectly well for all users on my MBP.
This is a very long list. Let me give you some of it, and if you really need all of them, I'll add to the list later.

Workflow question: removing images from project

How can I tell Aperture to remove a file from its database without removing it from the hard drive? My workflow is:
1. Import images to a Transfer folder
2. Edit images
3. Move remaining images to a folder with the shoot name, under a Photos folder
In Aperture, I've got a Photos project, with Albums for each shoot name folder and I've got a Transfer project that the unediting shoot is in. After I edited my first shoot in 1.5, I used the Relocate Master command to move the files of the shoot to the new folder in the Finder. I then made a new Album under the Photos project and copied the photos from Transfer to the new Album. That all worked great. As a last step, I wanted to remove the photos from the Transfer project. However, I can't: I can only delete the original file, which will delete it from the hard drive. I can't figure out how to tell Aperture to simply stop managing a file. It's really basic issue but it's stopping me from using Aperture to manage my library (or at least do it efficiently).

Wow, I was really tired when I posted that. No, you were correct the first time: I was looking to delete images and for that your suggestion worked perfectly.
What I was doing when I asked the second question was re-arranging my library in Aperture. I decided to remove everything and to use a structure that has a Folder labelled "Photos" at the top level, then multiple Projects below that, each named with a year. In each Project, there are albums for that year's shoots.
Before I removed the old structure, I exported out as a Project the last shoot I edited. Pre-1.5, I never bothered keeping editing images in Aperture - I just used it as a tool for editing the shoot. However, now that Aperture can reference external files (i.e., I'm not worried about its database), I can keep the editing images and their modifications in Aperture (modifications like keywords and image adjustments). So, after creating my new structure, I wanted to import all the editing images of my last shoot; sort of kicking off my greater use of Aperture. However, after importing the Project, I couldn't figure out how to move the images into the new shoot Album, in my "2006" Project. Hence my "can't move images"-post to you.
Your tip about dragging into the Project, not the Album, worked great, moving the images into their new place. Last night (morning, actually), my clumsy workaround was to drag the edited images into the new shoot album, then import the originals again, then use the stamp tool to copy the changes from the exisiting images to the new ones. I then deleted the images I'd imported via the existing Project. Much more of a pain than knowning what you told me!

Removing pics from Projects

Hi,
I just bought Aperture and have watched the tutorials on Lynda and Apple. I have a question that is probably very simple but the solution is alluding me.
For example: Say I started a project and called it, Friends. I put everything in it because I just bought a new camera and was playing around learning Aperture and the new cam. When the project started to get large I created more Projects and Albums within them. I know I can remove pics from the albums but how do I do it from the Project folder? When I try it removes them permanently. So now in my Friends Project I have 133 pics of everything I took but only two albums counting about 50 pics total.

I am sorry but I do not really understand your specific question.
Visualize it this way:
Image files live in Projects. An Album is a virtual grouping of "pointers" to images that live in various Projects. There are no actual image files in an Album, just pointers.
You can move images from one Project to another Project; also you can copy an image from one Project to another Project. You can make all kinds of Albums for all kinds of reasons at very low overhead; Albums are a powerful concept.

Note that the value is in the tutorial, not in using the book as a manual. The time spent learning modern digital image capture workflow via the tutorial is invaluable.

Removing access from an iPad no longer in my possession

Got divorced and my ex-wife kept my iPad. I changed my AppleID password but it looked like she was still able to download apps I had already purchased. I've gone in and deregistered the device from my AppleID; is there anything else I can do to force her to get her own ID and prevent her from using mine? I realize I should have thought of this before she took off with it but at the time things were looking like they'd be amicably resolved.

Newbe requests how to remove "applause" from Project in Premiere Elements 4?

This is the second time I attempted to make a large slide show using Photoshop Elements 9 and Premiere Elements 4 I am having two main problems:
1. I do not know how it got there but every time I run the slideshow on Premiere Elements I hear applause on each photo? Don't know how it got there either and frustrated how to get rid of it
2. When I move a photo to another place it leaves a blank space. I try to get rid of the space by going onto Edit and asking to delete and close gap. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. Then sometimes my only option is to remove the present photo and it does not remove it.
3. Lastly I wanted to change composing the slide show from Premiere Elements to Photoshop Elements 9 but the latter would not recognize the file.
THIS PROJECT IS A HUGE RUSH PROJECT FOR MY DAUGHTER'S 25TH ANNIVERSARY. TIME IS RUNNING OUT AND I AM PANICKING.

You say that you have PrE 4.0, but I did not see which version of PSE you have. You would need PSE 4.0, to be able to go directly to PrE from PSE. Otherwise, one would need to do, as you have, and Export from PSE as a WMV file, which would then be Imported into PrE.
The weakness in this latter method, the Export/Import, is that a WMV file is highly-compressed, so quality, when coming out of PrE will be compromised. Next, if one has the same versions of the two programs, and they Send to PrE from PSE, once in PrE, they can choose Break Apart, to get all of the elements in the SlideShow separated again - this cannot be donw with the WMV Export/Import.
Now, even with the WMV Export/Import method, one can still edit, but they are now cutting on a finished AV file, and things are not so easy - they are working on one large Video file, and one large Audio file on the Timeline.
For the blank spaces, one can just cut those out of the Video, but if the whole Clip (the WMV file) has Audio, that needs to stay, things are not quite so easy. In your case, however, it might be easiest to just Delete the Audio from the WMV, cut the Video to suit, and then Import the Audio Clips that were used in PSE, and just use those again, listening closely for the one(s) with the applause, and substitute something else, instead. This editing will be much, much easier in Timeline View Mode.
For that applause, it might be easier to go back to the Project in PSE, find where it is being introduced, and substitute for it there.
Now, if the applause comes during otherwise silent passeges, you can just cut it out, or can lower the Volume to the point that it is not heard. If it comes over music or dialog, there is nothing easy, that can be done. To remove it, and save the music, or dialog, will be virtually impossible and take much time, for probably little improvement.
Let us know just a little bit more about your Project and also the version number of PSE.

Remove attachments from mail app with imap account

Hi Folks,
I am quite frustrated. I am using Apple's mail app with Gmail (IMAP) and I want to remove all of my attachments from Gmail. I am using the 'remove attachment' feature of mail app to do this. However, it removes the attachment, then uploads a copy of the original email without the attachment. Therefore, I end up with two emails: The original and a copy without an attachment.
I don't get it. I just want to remove the attachments from my emails. I don't want to delete the original email.
Any thoughts?

I am not sure when I will get the chance to test this -- maybe this afternoon. But I had not understood that what you called original continued to have the attachments. If so, this strongly suggests to me that it indeed may be the way Gmail maintains the All Mail folder that is causing this. See:

If there is a setting to help this, it will have to be one that is selected in the Settings webpage of Gmail, I suspect.

Remove accessibility from Oracle Linux 6.1

I have an oracle linux server (6.1 with gnome 2.28.2) that supports a number of terminals.
A user added the magnifier tool (accessibility feature) and now noone can login because the magnifier tool is over the accessibility icon. How can I correct this? Is there a way to completely disable the accessibility icon?

OK, I fixed the magnifier issue using:
sudo -u gdm gconftool-2 /desktop/gnome/applications/at/screen_magnifier_enabled type bool set false
I would still like to know how to disable or uninstall the accessibility feature all-together...

Bricked Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro-1370 due to broken microsoft ecosystem / unrecoverable admin account

Hi. So now I am here. HELLO EVERYONE! All you friendly and curious troubleshooters. I am frustrated and lost. I will not give you the 14 step Microsoft issue. But I guarantee this will be one of the more bizarre or interesting problems you have read in a bit. so tl;dr - my yoga 3 is bricked because the user account switched the administrator to an unrecoverable & disused / non-used outlook.com email account b/c of the MS App store. Their tech has not helped, no recovery has worked at all. I just want to factory reset the hardware at this point, but the software "glitch" needs me to log in to my admin account to factory reset, which is something I can't do. Way too long of info story: a) on my lenovo tablet, I had my personal login to sign into my admin profile. I did not use a MS Outlook account at all. In Feb, I signed up w/ a "dummy" outlook.com account for the app store, but never DL anything, and didn't think to realize this account locked me into an ecosystem... I just thought it was a temp email to register, and didn't keep any details. The 1st time it removed my local user account profile from admin, and replaced it with the outlook.com account. I immediately switched it back, that time. b) 2 weeks ago, I wanted to DL The Economist app. We hadn't used any apps, & again it made me sign in to Microsoft. I signed into my account and DL the app. I believe it signed in with a remembered password, as I don't remember it. It could be one of 15. c) At this point, microsoft's account removed my personal local lenovo user account, and replaced it with the microsoft outlook.com sign in d) Now, when I try to log in to my tablet, it says "You can't sign into your PC right now. Go to account.live.com to fix the problem, or try the last password you used on this PC". No previous passwords work. This is probably because I tried to sign in a bunch of times under my personal local user account, before realizing it had switched the admin to the outlook.com account. e) I go to account.live.com, and it redirects to login.live.com. When I try to sign in with my outlook.com account, it says "You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect email address or password." f) At this point, a captcha comes up, and no matter how many times I solve it correctly, it won't let me sign in. I did get to a point where I see a different type of screen that says my account is locked. g) When I try any form of account recovery, and attempt to have an email or password sent to my secondary recovery email, those emails never arrive in my inbox. h) when I attempt to have a code sent to my phone, I never receive the code. i) the microsoft support number has a phone tree that leads me to a place that tells me to go online to get support. j) When I try to contact customer support, it leads me back to the login in page. So I made *another* MS account for support, and have spent 2 weeks getting copy pasta support about "try password reset", "try text code reset", "try account recovery". I never get the password reset to my recovery email, I never get the text, and the account recovery doesn't work because I never used the email, and don't have enough information like email subject lines, or folders, for them to know the account is mine.... even though it was a throwaway email to use for the ecosystem, and not to use for anything else. I am still 10 tech support messages in with their support team, and they still haven't realized the problem: I DO NOT CARE ABOUT RECOVERING MY OUTLOOK EMAIL, but I do if that's the only way to gain access to my hardware's admin account. I have tried everything, and it doesn't work. I do not care anymore. I just want to factory reset the **bleep** thing, but it needs my password for the admin account to do it. Ain't that the darndest thing? I mean.. think about it! Microsoft's broken ecosystem of account recovery means their software has intrinisically bricked my Yoga 3 and made it unusable. I can still use a sub-account, but it acts all wonky because it wants me to download apps using an outlook account and when I try to sign a new one in, it leads to broken links, etc. If Microsoft's ecosystem doesn't allow for account recovery in any way, how do I take control of my hardware again? I feel frustrated and alone. This was a HUGE purchase for us, and I never thought a software glitch or problem with the ecosystem would brick hardware in this manner. NB: I know I have to take some accountability for not remembering the password, or realizing the ecosystem being a bit rigid and fierce, especially when trying to find back end understanding or support in recovery.... I had no idea, and that's on me. I also know it's not "bricked" IE unusable, per se... but not being able to log in to the admin account, nor make changes, updates, or get into the app store... it's pretty brickish. Excperiences when changing main admin account

I as usual when buying a new Mac, found after 2,5 years, that my iMac should benefit
from changing my main admin account to a new one. And then I had the possibility of
rethinking all things that I had installed slightly unsmart.
So I now have two main accounts, the new one to use all the time, and the old one,
that maybe could be needed for some reason.
I tried to migrate as much as possible by copying all music, mail and other stuff,
and then I will delete the old versions when I am fairly shure that things work ok.
What I however have not figured out, is how I should do with all Documents and
Pictures. I felt like starting with an empty iPhoto, with more order in the new
database. And All slightly misnamed forestlike document folders will have to
stay that way for a while until I know how to extract a managable number of mostly
accessed things.
I also happened to Buy iPhoto Library Manager, which is great if I want to
switch back to the old setup.
So far it feels good, also when I discovered that Mission Control is great.
Especially with the shortcuts ^-arrows left and right.
I placed every main App on its own screen, and was a bit bewildered that
the background seems to get put just one one screen, if you change it.
If you have read this far, and is a Unix guru, what rights should be smart
to put on the old Documents and Pictures and Movies folders, and the
home directory?
I think I mainly will need just read access to files, and with Lion, you
can put the new copy of changed files in the new home folder.

You could either create a new user, or change the existing one with the instructions on this page
If the unwanted user account has no content you want to save, just create a new one.

Admin account wont open

I recently did a lot of school related work on my admin account. I used a fair amount of memory in a small amount of time. After logging out because I was finished, I tried to log back in about 12 hours later and after entering my password the screen went to the blue Apple background then returned to the log in screen. My other account works fine and I have been using that, but I can not access the documents on my admin account. How can I access those files and get them on an external hard drive from my other account, or better yet how can i log into my admin account?

Exactly what do you mean by that?
What size is the Hard Drive, and how much free space is available?
Click once on the Hard Drive icon to highlight it.
Press the Command + I keys to Get Info.
What is displayed for:
Capacity:
Available:
Used:
Insufficient available space, can cause performance issues, system corruption, and possible loss of data.
Depending on Mac system usage habits, it is a general recommendation, to keep 10% to as much as 20%, of the Total capacity, available at all times.
