Removing inputtext component by button click

Hi,
I m able to add input text component dynamically by the following code.
public String cb1_action() {
// Add event code here...
System.out.println("in cb1_action3 - 1");
UIComponent button;
button = findComponentInRoot("cb1");
RichPanelGroupLayout pgl;
pgl = (RichPanelGroupLayout)button.getParent();
List<UIComponent> children;
children = pgl.getChildren();
RichInputText it;
it = new RichInputText();
it.setLabel("New textbox " + (children.size() ));
children.add(it);
AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(pgl);
System.out.println("in cb1_action3 - 1 done");
return null;
but how to remove the same inputtext field/component dynamically???

Hi,
Try to remove the component from the
List<Component> childs = (List<Component>)pgl.getChildren();
childs.remove(inputText);//pass the component
AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(pgl);

  • Show a custom component on button click in a view stack`

    Hello folks
    I have a view stack in which i have some custom components.
    Now there is one custom component in which there is one button. On the button click, i want to show another custom component but i dont know how to do it. Should i write the inline mxml click event in custom component?? If yes then how??
    Currently i am doing it as
    click="{customcomponent}"

    As you know, ViewStack  has containers, lilke VBox for its views.
    Assuming one of your views VBox has an id of myVBox, and that VBox has the Button that when clicked will display the component, just have the component in the view already, but you can make it invisible with visible=false and includeInLayout=false, and then upon button click set those two variables to true.
    You will probably want a show handler for the view VBox to make those properties false each time that view is displayed.
    Here is some simple sample code.
    If this post answers your question or helps, please mark it as such.
    ---------- MySimpleComponent.mxml ----------

    ---------- MainApp.mxml  ----------
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

  • How do I remove a child from the stage using a button click?

    I have a movieclip that requires Play, Pause, Forward and Back buttons. The movieclip has actionscript at various frames to load movieclips from the library and repeat them.
    I have tried using a timeline scrubber but it does not trigger the actionscript when scrubbing, only when the movie plays normally.
    My possible solution is to create Fwd and Back buttons that can go to specific frames where key animations will begin.
    I need to develop actionscript that will remove Children when the user clicks Back.
    This is how I am loading several movieclips along the timeline from my library:
    var shpA1:arSHPp1;
    function attachAR1 () {
      shpA1 = new arSHPp1 ();
      shpA1.x = -30;
      shpA1.y = 18;
      addChild (shpA1);
    //the interval is used to repeat the animation to represent continuous flow on a diagram
    var myInterval1:uint = setInterval (attachAR1, 500);
    This what I have tried so far (not working at all - no errors or trace):
    function remChild1(event:MouseEvent) :void {
        if(shpA1.stage)
            trace("arSHPp1 is in display list");
            shpA1.parent.removeChild(shpA1);
            shpA1 = null
        else
            trace("arSHPp1 isn't in display list");

    I did try that but it would not remove the child.
    i appreciate your help though.
    I am also trying to determine if a child is on the stage and if it is, remove it. I have created a button that will jump back on the timeline and the mc's that were loaded after this point in time.
    This looks like it should work. It doesn't give me any errors but the mc remains on the stage.
    var remMC;
    if (getChildByName("mc2") != null) {
      removeChild(mc2);

  • Dynamically removing a component button...

    Sorry if this question sounds stupid/easy, but I'm blanking.
    How do I use AS to dynamically remove a component button that was

    just put the component on the stage and changed the theme color of
    it - that's all...
    As far as the final exam loading into another .swf, that's
    true. There's one "main" .swf that is the basic navigational shell

  • Open MXML component + button click

    Hi,
    I have an MXML component within my Flex 2 Application, and
    within this component I have a button which when clicked, I want to
    "go / link to" (open) another MXML component.... e.g.:
    <mx:Application.......>
    <mx:panel............>
    <mx:button label="open other page" click="open the other
    MXML component etc..."/>
    </mx:panel>
    </mx:Application>
    Additionally I want to be able to pass a variable (on the
    same button click) to the component that is being opened on the
    button click, and use this variable within the second
    component......
    Could anyone suggest the best method of going about this?
    Thanks,
    Jon.

    In general all of the components of an application are
    created at start up. You then use view states and navigation
    containers to display the component when needed. If you want to
    create a component then check out this subject 'Creating deferred
    components' in the docs. Primarily you worry about deferred
    creation of objects if you want to reduce the file size of your
    swf. View states would be one way to handle the display of the
    components.

  • Calculator attached to inputText component

    Hi,
    I have a requirement that users would like to have a calculator attached to the inputText component. When users click "ok" in the calculator popup screen, the value should be put in the inputText. It is similar to DatePicker for inputDate component. Anybody has an example for this?
    Thanks.
    nat...

    Hi,
    You can have create a page for the calculator options, and then show that as popup when clicked on an icon / button next to the input text. In the backing bean (ok button's actionListener) you can send the value back to inputText.
    If you would want it to look similar to datePicker, you can build a custom declarative component.

  • How do you fire a button click event on apex page from fancybox iframe that was created by page

    I am trying to fire off the button click event from fancybox iframe. The apex page has a button that launches a fancybox iframe which is loaded with an APEX form. On close of that fancy box, I am trying to fire a click event on the parent page which will refresh a div with html that is created with plsql. The button on the page works as expected when clicked from the page. It will show a debug alert message to prove it was called and then load the div with the correct data. I am unable to fire off this button click from the fancybox iframe when it closes.
    A couple of points:
    I using Plug-in: Execute PL/SQL Code and Return Content ("PLUGIN_MULEDEV.SERVER_REGION_REFRESH") to place the create fancybox statement. It is used to populate a div using plsql.
    The name of the button on the main page is P2020_REFRESH_SECTION_BUILDER_BTN.
    The click dynamic action on the button is calling the plugin to replace the html in the div.
    The data in the form in the fancybox is being saved to the database. On close of the fancybox box I want to refresh the div so the new record is included in the div html.
    Can anyone help. Here is the fancybox code:
      function customProcessOnReadyState4(){
        for (var i=0;i<11;i++){
          $( "#tabs"+i ).tabs();
          $("#createNewExerciseLink"+i).fancybox({

              ''onClosed''         : function() {
                                         window.parent.$(''#P2020_REFRESH_SECTION_BUILDER_BTN'').click();
    Here are the dynamic actions assigned to the button:
    5 - Execute JavaScript Code
    alert("Starting refresh");
    10 - Execute PL/SQL Code and Return Content [Plug-in]
    begin

  • JTree remove expand/collapse cross button...??

    Hi all,
    I have forbidden tree collapsing (by default it is fully expanded),
    and I want to remove expand/collapse cross buttons that actually are used to expand/collapse tree nodes.
    Is it possible and can anyone give me advice how i can do this.

    I tried extending the BasicTreeUI to return nulls for the collapsed and exapnded icons as shown in the code below. For the most part, it works great! However, one can still expand/collapse the tree by clicking on the point where the vertical and horizontal lines connect.

  • 'loading' symbol on button click

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where user want to see 'loading' icon (the circle that rotates in center of window when backend operation is in process) below a search button.
    Is there any way to have this 'loading' icon at the place we want on screen?
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amey

    Hi,
    To my knowledge, this is not possible in a direct way.
    However, you could use the following workaround:
    - export a portal theme, unzip, and extract the image from ur.zip under common/loading
    - store this image in the mime folder of your WD component, and embed this image at the preferred position in your view, showing and hiding upon a button click
    Hope this helps!

  • Remove the view detail button from the UWL

    After migrating from Ep 6 to EP 7 and importing the same standard launchhandling config for ESS and MSS in the UWL, a "View detail" button appears in the EP7 UWL for each workitem.
    Does anyone know how to remove or disable this "View detail" button?
    (When an end users clicks this button he can click to go to the SAP gui and to other functionlaity we don't want to offer.)

    The item type config and uwl standard views are allready both configured towards our needs. We have experience in changing this config and tried to change it in order to remove the button. But there is no option for removing the "view detail" button, in this config. At least we didn't find it. Also in the help documentation from SAP about UWL (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/39/a1bb5c4c0d4ab4a417e87ef35f1efa/frameset.htm) there is nothing to be found on the View Detail button.
    We just don't want our users to see all the details from the workitem.
    When this button is displayed users are also able to go to the SAP gui and this is highly undesired. Users should only approve / reject leave.
    When the iview is displayed in the "normal mode" (not in the webdynpro mode) this button is no where to be found either. But in this mode the workitems cannot be started. It just opens a new portal page and not the ITS workitem.
