Removing SIM card without ruining data

Hi! Last night my iphone touch screen stopped working (the screen is also cracked). I don't have a laptop with me (on vacation) that supports itunes. i was wondering if removing my SIM card (and putting it in a different phone) would ruin any data (contacts especially) stored on my broken iphone. And then i ideally i would get back to my laptop and backup my iphone before taking it to the apple store and rectifying the situation.

Besides the account info for your cellular account, no data is stored on the SIM card with the iPhone. The iPhone does not support storing any data on the SIM card.

Where di I get a SIM card tool for iPad 3?  My cellular data doesn't work now tht I downloaded iOS6.1.  Instructions tell me to remove SIM card and then return.  Will that work? Verizon tells me it's an Apple issue.

  • Pull out the SIM card without turn off

What would happen if I pull out my SIM card without turn off my iPhone? Is it harm my phone?

Probably not. I've certainly done it on a number of phones, unintentionally. But it's not best practice.

  • Changing sim cards without losing music and video on iphone

I have an iphone 3gs, with an Australian account. I have gone on a trip to London and have obtained a payg sim card here. Before I left I unlocked my iphone with my provider and am looking to use the UK sim card. My concern is that if I change sim cards I need to restore my iphone. Does this mean that I lose my music, video and podcast files? All the originals are on my pc at home in Australia. Is there a way that I can change sim cards without losing my media files in the iphone?
    thanks

I too have an account with 3 Australia (now known as VHA) and am using it in Malaysia during my holidays here. Anyways to your question:
No if done properly you don't even need to restore your iPhone. If your phone is already unlocked just chuck in the new SIM card and that's it.

IPhone 4 with Att, 3g, I can receive calls but caller can't hear me. I tried reboot and remove sim card. Help!

    Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

  • Does the Verizon 4G iPad have a removable SIM card?

Or is it only the AT&T version that has a removable SIM card?  And I am assuming that neither is unlocked and if colleagues in Europe wanted to buy a new iPad while in the US on business would not be able to get local service in their home country?  Thank you!
    Susan

Both have a SIM card slot.

    Wi-Fi + 4G for AT&T model: 4G LTE (700, 2100 MHz)3; UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
    Wi-Fi + 4G for Verizon model: 4G LTE (700 MHz)3; CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz); UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
I would go with the AT&T version for someone living in Europe.

  • Iphone 6 continually searches for network. Tried reset numerous times with no luck. Removed sim card. I have been having problems with it since update.

iphone 6 will not find service. I have tried resetting numerous times. It worked once but soon after lost service again. This problem started gradually last week and if I shut phone off it would usually find service again. This time nothing. I have tried every reset, removing sim card, and restoring from iTunes. Nothing works.

Its still in warranty. Take it to an Apple store. Make an appointment first.

  • Can't remove sim card from e75

Hi, I just bought e75. I need to remove my sim card, somehow, the card is stuck in the sim card slot. Could anyone advise me how to remove the sim card? The user guide book only show how to insert the card into the sim card slot, but did not mention how to remove from sim card slot.

It seems to be quite tight, indeed. But I was able to get mine out with a little bit of trying. First time I tried to remove it from my E75.
There're no latches or locks or anything that keeps it in place. I just pressed down hard on the visible part and tried to slide it down.
After a few attempts, it started moving and came out.
A pair of tweezers probably helps.

  • How to remove sim card from N8

so o2 will be along tomorrow to swap my 3 day old N8 for one that (hopefully) works properly!  Problem is, I can't see how to remove the sim card.  If I push it in it doesnt click and eject - failing that am I supposed to press somewhere for it to eject?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

it should be fairly simple , turn off phone , open cover on side , press sim card and it should come out !
If I have helped at all, a click on the White Star is always appreciated :

  • Accidentally removed SD card without unmounting...all pictures seem to be gone.  HELP???

Tonight I received a notification on my LG Ally that my SD card was unmounted (though I had done nothing but pick up the phone). I opened the SD card flap and tried to push the card in to make sure that it was connected...but didn't realize that pushing it in actually pops it out. So, I inadvertently ejected the SD card without unmounting it. When I put it back in, I realized that ALL of my pictures are GONE. Is there anything I can do to get them back, or do I just get to chalk this one up to my own stupidity?

I am having a similar issue in that my LG Ally keeps randomly beeping and stating that my SD card has been removed without being unmounted. It of course is still in the phone mounted. I have removed it and reset it and it was fine for an hour or two and then it stated it was removed without un mounting again. This has been happening repeatedly. it has happened before, but just randomly, and now it is happening more frequently. I am also missing photos(in my gallery), while in this state, although some of the photos that are stored on the SD card are contact photos which are still present. My concern is not my photos however, i'm more concerned about why this is happening not what is happening.
