Rename property metadata and keep values

Hello,
I tried to rename a property metadata by changing the property id.
Then I saw that the values of the changed property will not be shown. Is there a way to keep the values and to change the property id?
Regards
Marco

Hi,
i've created a WebDynpro that makes the changes at table UME_STRINGS. You only have to change the ATTR- and ATTRH-values.
I hope this table will not be changed by SAP at next time.

  • Renaming form file and keeping references

    Hi,
    After upgrading from 11.5.8 to 11.5.9 I have an issue with one form.
    I have the ARXTWMAI form which is referring to ARXTWLIN.fmb. I want to rename both forms to AR_TWMAI & AR_TWLIN respectively. When I do that and try to open AR_TWMAI in form builder(6i) it is looking for the ARXTWLIN fmb rather than the new, renamed AR_TWLIN.
    Any ideas? Am i missing something here? How is the link between those fmbs created?
    Thanks,

    This does not sound like Oracle Forms, but I believe the answer is the same. I am using Oracle forms builder 6i Version 6.0.8.11.3 - Just mentioned in case it was relevant that we upgraded from Oracle Applications 11.5.8 to 11.5.9
    If you rename files, then you also have to rename every occurance where that file name >appears. Open up the AR_TWMAI and look for any reference to ARXTWLIN fmb, then >manually change it to AR_TWLIN.I see what you mean, but I only want to rename the filename of the ARXTWLIN to AR_TWLIN...the $Header will remain ARXTWLIN. All the references that I see inside ARXTWMAI are to the ARXTWLIN header - that remains the same (for example ar_revision.form_revision('ARXTWLIN.fmb', $Revision: 115.43 );-
    Just to make myself clear, in another similar situation I have 2 files. AR_RWMAI and AR_TWACC. The reference found inside AR_RWMAI is for ('ARXTWACC.fmb', $Revision: 115.43 ); although the file is AR_TWACC....
    I hope I am not confusing you...If you think that by just renaming all the references even if the reference is to headers (which remain unchanged) will work then I'll give it a try!
    Thanks,

  • Get a list of all available Property MetaData through API

    Hello,
    We have create some custom Property MetaData and assigned them to an new group.
    Now I need to be able to get a list of all the Property MetaData in this new group using a SAP portal API.
    But the only code snippets I've found requires at least the name if the property metadata.
    In other cases a KM IResource object is needed but then you only have the property metadata that's applicable on that IResource.
    Is it possible to do what I have in mind?
    If so can you point me into the correct direction, or provide a code example.
    I've been looking at the IMetaModel, IMetaGroupListIterator, IMetaGroup etc but I've not found any solution.
    Thanks a lot!
    Kind regards,
    Dries

    Hi
    Try this:
      IConfigurationAccess icAccess = Configuration.getInstance();
      IWDClientUser wdcu = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
       com.sap.security.api.IUser sapUser = wdcu.getSAPUser();
      IUser user = WPUMFactory.getUserFactory().getEP5User(sapUser);
      IConfigClientContext confContext = IConfigClientContext.createContext(user);
    IConfigManager icManager = icAccess.getConfigManager(confContext);
      IConfigPlugin icPlugin = icManager.getConfigPlugin(ConfigurationProxy.CFG_PLUGIN_CM_SERVICES_PROPERTIES_METADATA);
    IMutableConfigurable[] mcs = icPlugin.getConfigurables();
    this mcs object will give you list of all meta data property for this user.
    Hope this helps

  • Add GPS and keep Metadata

    I use Lightroom 1.4.1 (WinXP) to import photos from my CF cards and then add GeoTag data later, without losing metadata. My process has a few steps and is as follows:
    Note: Assumes photos are in Lightroom and may or may not have metadata. I have only tried this with Nikon raw .NEF files. Not sure how this will work for file formats that Lightroom embeds directly rather than using .xmp
    1. In Lightroom select files you are going to GeoTag and in Metadata menu select Save Metadata to files. Since I am working with raw that has a proprietary file format it creates a .xmp sidecar file for each photo.
    2. Probably a good idea to exit Lightroom, after it has finished writing Metadata.
    3. GeoTag photos ( I use Microsoft Pro Photo Tool w/ Nikon Raw Codec installed to embed GPS in .NEF files, but expect other tools that embed GPS data into photo files will work fine.)
    4. Change modify date/time stamp for each .xmp file. Need a utility (like File Renamer Basic, its free) that will change file modified time stamp of the .xmp files to current time. Seems Lightroom will not read file if it has the same date/time as when Lightroom wrote it. Without this step it seems it reads the raw files metadata and clears Lightrooms database of other metadata for that photo.
    5. In Lightroom select files you GeoTagged and in Metadata menu select Read Metadata from files. Lightroom sees different date/time for both .raw and .xmp and so reads each back in.
    6. Should now have GPS data for each photo along with its Lightroom created Metadata.

    The NEF codec might be the only one that works with the Pro Photo Tools. The Canon CR2 codec appears to save the geotag info, but Lightroom won't recognize it when I import (either keeping the CR2 or converting to DNG).
    The new Adobe DNG codec for WIC won't even allow the Pro Photo Tools to save the modified metadata. I get a very unspecific error, but can't find any sort of error log to get any additional details.

  • Replace property metadata values with icons

    Hello everybody,
       We have created a new property metadata with specific allowed values. Then we created a new layout set to list a repository including that metadata. We are wondering if there is a way to replace the specific metadata values in the list with a set of icons to improve the look and feel.
       Best regards,
           Virgilio Ruiz

    Hi Virgilio
    Here a description how to use one of the standard property renderers that touches your needs:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3648
    If it does not cover your needs, you should go for development as suggested by Robert.

  • Rename externally created dimension (FCM) and keep the same ID

    Hi,
    Urgent, need your help !
    I'm facing an issue regarding renaming externally managed dimensions (from FCM).
    Currently if i rename a dimension using third part tool, then FCM create a new entry into my "data/state/autogen_dimension.xml" file
    with a new ID and the previous one is kept. So i'm having data consistency issue.
    How can i update  dimensions and dimension values (externally managed) keeping previous ID please ?

    FCM and Externally Managed Dimensions are two separate features.
    If your dimension is being created by FCM and you want to change the name of the dimension itself while keeping the same ID, I think you'd need to go into ./data/state/fcm.dvals.xml[.gz] and ./data/state/fcm.conflicts.xml[.gz] and rename there, as well as change it in your FCM data feed (where you pass in the dimension schema).  If you are actually talking about EMTs, I'm not sure - possibly the same approach.  Certainly just renaming them in the data feed/schema would assign a new ID as the logic would naturally assume this was a new dimension (usually there is a separate display label attribute to support business users changing the label while the name is used as a system ID).

  • How to get all property names and values of an bean instance at runtime?

    How can I get all property names and values of an bean instance at runtime?
    (The class of the bean instance is dynamic and I can not know before I write the code .)

    Look at Class. It has a way to get at all public methods and attributes.
    If you need to get to private attributes you can do what the Introspector does and expect the methods to follow the Bean pattern and pull the attributes out based upon that. Privates are all hidden from direct access but through the Bean Pattern they can be figured out.

  • How to transfer my iTunes Library from a Mac to a PC and keep all the Metadata?

    I need to transfer my music library from my macbook to a desktop PC running Windows 7. I have tried using Home Sharing as well as transfering the whole iTunes folder over using an external hard drive. Neither attempt kept all my metadata. Is there any way to recreate my library on a Windows machine and keep the metadata?

    Moving a library: Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its sub-folders and files) intact to the other drive.  Hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) and open iTunes.  At the prompt to create or choose a library choose the copied iTunes folder.
    If this is to a new computer and you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music  then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there.  (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

  • How to grab value on command and keep it available?

    This should be obvious but I don't see it!
    I want to grab a value on a wire whenever the user presses a button, and hold that value for use at any time.
    So for instance I can rezero an instrument when the user presses the button, by grabbing the instrument output at that time, and by displaying the difference between current instrument output and the grabbed value.
    I tried wiring the output of a select node back to one of its inputs to hold the value, and connecting the wire to be grabbed from to the other input, and tying the button momentary output to the control input on the node, but it doesn't like having its output fed back.
    Thanks!

    Mike, I think I irritated you, and I'm sorry. I have a big machine I programmed years ago in Forth and Assembly, and am reworking it in LabVIEW to be more in step with the rest of the world, but am finding it surprisingly hard and a little intimidating. Many things that were easy before still look hard or impossible, at least at first. I'm irritated at how difficult some things seem, and I let the post show it, so - I appologize!
    >First of all your questions betray a basic lack of understanding of how LV works. For example, in LV you don't copy data from one memory location to another.
    It's true, I don't have a basic understanding of how LV works. I hear about dataflow, and gather that implicitly this is trying to make a stack-oriented system map to our human ability to navigate through physical spaces, whereas systems that use more named variables are using our language abilities instead. I bet you do, though, copy data from one memory location to another, whether it's apparent or not, whether you use names and assignment statements or not. I think to tare a gage you must copy the present value to someplace for storage. I have stopped looking for the "copy" node, but still have to accomplish the same effect, and have to do so at an arbitrarily specified time.
    >And if you don't know how to run a VI you apparently haven't completed the first exercise.
    I know how to run some VI's. Somebody else's VI that gives a version compatibility error, no, I don't know how to run that, not without digging into it further. Which I will do. Feel free to ignore this thread until I report back on that. Or longer, of course.
    >I would suggest that you take some time going through the "Getting Started" materials that come with LV and perhaps take a class.
    Yes. I went through a bunch of "Getting Started" materials, wrote and ran a hundred or so VI's, and took a week of classes from NI. But there still seem to be big pieces missing.
    >Second when you do have code that you have specific questions about, post the code so we can comment on it.
    OK, here are two VI's that work together: AnalogInstrument01 has a measurement that I now offset with the constant "53.5". Tester01 sets up a task and executes a loop containing AnalogInstrument01, passing that task into it and getting values of the scaled and offset measurement returned to it. In my project I will have other bigger VIs like Tester01, running an asynchronous loop containing AnalogInstrument01 plus others like it. Some are counters that may not miss a beat. Some take varying time to execute. I must maintain one to one correspondence between all the measurement events within that loop. I am pretty sure it would compromise the goodness of data that my system generates to move away from this asynchronous calling loop strategy.
    I want to be able to readjust the offset instead of using 53.5 all the time. However, when it's tared, it should appear similarly tared, and behave the same way, to any VI that calls it. Therefore I think this tare should be part of the AnalogInstrument VI and not part of the other parent VIs that call it. However, the instrument must be ready for on-demand reading by a parent asynchronous loop, therefore (I think) not having its own while loop. Can somebody suggest a way of grabbing and holding the value here?
    It's obvious how to do it if you can have the loop in the same VI as the tare value. You just pass the tare value around in the shift register for that loop. I added that example as AllOneHasTare01, which reads and tares just fine. Only problem is you can't call it from another asynchronous loop because its own loop keeps it busy.
    To be more clear about what I think I need, you can imagine doing this in an object oriented text language instead, say C++. You'd create a Measurement class with a tare method. The constructor would load a private tare field with zero at object instantiation. There's be a tare method that copies the output of the measure function into the tare field. There'd also be a measure method that returns the difference between a fresh raw measurement and the tare field value. Then another class like Tester would own an instance of Measurement and would call the measure function from inside its loop. This sounds easy - but how would I do it in LabVIEW?

  • Moving movie files from internal to external and keeping the metadata

    Hi Robert - welcome to the forum, and to the Apple MacIntosh world!
    Just a suggestion - if you have a dv (tape) video-camera, then you can record from your VCR tapes, directly onto a camera-tape, and thence into iMovie, without further loss of quality. Should you not have such a camera, but are keen to do movie editing using iMovie, then that should be an essential Christmas present to yourself!

  • Combining forms while keeping values and not using portfolio

    I tried to combine three copies of the same form with unique information into one file in Acrobat XI. I was able to do so in previous versions. In XI, when I tried to do this, it would give all three forms the same information. It told me I had to make a portfolio. The portfolio method made a file that was too trippy to look at, one of my clients even sent it back and requested the individual files. Is there a way to combine copies of the same form and keep the unique values of each form such as turning off something or another tool or do I have to go back to n older version of Acrobat?

    You have to flatten the files first. This would have been the same in
    earlier versions of Acrobat...

  • Sorting Values and keeping Keys

    Hi,
    I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I would like to sort some key value pairs.
    I have the following data the key is a string and the value is an int.
    "John",26
    "George",25
    "Ian",33
    "Greg",25
    I would like to sort the names by age and output them e.g
    Greg George John Ian
    I have looked at this post using the TreeMap and TreeSet to sort based on values but this seems to only work for Strings. Another problem is that I think tree set needs unique values and in my case they're not unique.
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=634742&messageID=3688987
    I was wondering whether someone could help me sort out this problem
    Thanks in advance

    You need to create an Object to encapsulate your data and then sort a collection of those objects. Something like this:

  • Icon for Property Metadata

    Hello everyone,
    I want to assign an icon to every Property Metadata that i define.
    When you create a new property, you can enter property metadata values in csv format. Is it possible to associate an Icon  as well with the MetaData Property ?
    Its possible to enter MIME types as well in csv format. I am trying to use it but the tab is not displayed if I use any property renderer related to image. If I set "property renderer" to "Not set" then I can see my MetaData values but no Icons / Images.
    I believe, diplaying images as property metadata should be possible. Has anyone tried it? I am not using the correct combination of property and property renderer I guess.
    Help me out in this case ..
    Cheers!!
    Ashutosh

    Hi Ashutosh,
    Form my understanding of the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/1a/9a4a3b80f2ec40aa7456bc87a94259/content.htm">OnlineHelp</a>, I do not see how to do what you want without programming.
    The MIME types we can enter in CSV format, refer to a list of document types to property apply.
    As the allowed values are "text", I do not expect it is possible to associate images to these texts.
    Sorry not to have better news

  • Adding Property MetaData to Upload screen

    Hi,
    I would like to add some Property Metadata for documents that I upload to the KM.
    I have managed to created a new tab with all my properties, but I would like to have some of these properties on the first screen of the upload process, meening, near the name & description of the file - and not inside a different tab.
    Any suggestions how to add properties near the name and description of the file.
    Thanks in advance,
    Aviad

    Hi Avaid and Kiran,
    <b>Creation of Property Metadata:</b>
    navigate to: System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Global Services -> Property Metadata.
    This would give you all the properties that are linked with content management.
    When you check Details of any document, the properties (modified date, created date, etc) all exist in the above mentioned Property Metadata.
    If exists, you can use the property.
    Read more:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/75/e000861cb8ad4b8e4f19dd6416346d/frameset.htm
    Assuming that it does exist then how should you add this property such that its visible/accessing in Document details:
    Navigate to => System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Global Services -> Property Structures.
    The tabs that you see in Document details are all placed in tabs.
    If you want your property to be placed in a different one, then create your tab, add your property and add this tab in the all_groups tab.
    The link given above contains all details.
    Please check these documents:
