Rep=2103 error message in oracle 10g

Hi After migrating from 6i to 10g I am getting the following msg when I try to generate a report:
rep-2103: column 'cf_street_address' : pl/sql formula returned invalid value or no value
I have the following code in my function:
function CF_street_addressFormula return VARCHAR2 is
begin
return(:address_line_1||' '||:address_line_2||' '||:address_line_3||' '||:address_line_4);
end;
Please help.

I'm using Reports 9.0.4.0.19 and I recreated the scenario without any issues. I'm just wondering what would happen if you wrapped the :address_lines in nvl's in case 10g cares.
return(nvl(:address_line_1,' ')||' '||nvl(:address_line_2,' ')||' '||nvl(:address_line_3,' ')||' '||nvl(:address_line_4,' '));

Installation error message for Oracle Database software for version 10g

Would someone be able to advise why I keep getting the following error message whilst installing Oracle trial Database software for version 10g Release 2 Standard Edition, Standard Edition One, and Enterprise Edition? Link listed below : -

Below is the 12 steps that I go through, please advise what I'm doing wrong : -
1. (Operations) default is Create a database
2. (Database templetes) default is general purpose
3. (Database Identification) projemp.local for Global database name & projemp for SID
4. (Management options) default is "Configure the database with Enterprise manager, also the options button has been clicked for "Use database control for database management"
5. (Database Credentials) the options button has been clicked for "Use the same password for all accounts" so I've set up a new password, was that correct?
6. (Storage options) the options button is clicked for "File System - use the file system for database storage.
7. (Database file locations) the options button is clicked for "Use database file locations for template" Is this option correct? Other options are Use common location for all database files or use Oracle-managed files?
8. (Recovery configuration) the options button is clicked for "Specify flash recovery area
9. (Database content) nothing has been selected, the only option is "Sample schemas" should that be clicked?
10. (Initialization parameters) the options button is clicked for "Typical- allocate memory as a % of the total physical memory
11. (Database storage) no options available
12. (Creation options) the options button has been selected for "Create Database"
Click finish
I then get a screen stating General purpose, click OK then I get the following error message as stated at the start of this e-mail ""Cannot create directory"C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_7\cfgtoollogs\dbca\projemp".

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium, 32 bit operating system, and my computer is saying I have 142 GB free space.
If you read the installation manual that came with the downloaded software, you'd have seen in the prerequisites that Home editions of Windows are NOT listed as supported platforms, whereas Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions specifically ARE listed as supportd.

Error while installing Oracle 10g on Solaris 9 x86

Hi all,
I got several error after install oracle 10g. After I run the root.sh. It prompt :
Starting Oracle CSS service under init(1M)
Expecting the CRS daemons to be up within 120 seconds.
Giving up: Oracle CSS stack appears NOT to be running.
and when I start sqlplus, it prompt:
ERROR:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Intel SVR4 UNIX Error: 2: No such file or directory
and following the error message prompt every minutes.
"oracle: (Oracle CSSD will be run out of init)"
"root: Failure in CSS initialization opening OCR."
I don't think reinstall oracle will solve my problem if I don't figure out what going wrong. Could anyone tell me what I need to do? Thanks very much for helping.

Check also if the t-bit is set:

drwxrwxrwt 11 root root 4096 Apr 10 11:44 /tmp
This is needed to mark the filesystem/directory as temporary.
Sometimes this can cause such problems also
Command: chmod +t /tmp

REP-1920 Error Message

Our project has reports that fail with the following error message:
REP-1920: Character mode runtime incompatible with
DESFORMAT of PDF, HTML, HTMLCSS, or RTF.
It is not always the same reports that receive the above message, it appears to be random in nature. Indeed, the vast majority of time these reports run with no errors at all. All of a sudden, out of the blue, certain reports (no pattern, it could be any of our reports) will fail with the REP-1920 error message.
To make matters worse, NONE of our reports are in CHARACTER mode. All have an initial value of DEFAULT (i.e. BITMAP). Now we do have one report that generates a CHARACTER report dynamically, by passing a paramter at runtime, but that report (the .rdf) has a DEFAULT mode as well, and is run off of a different report server than all the other reports.
I have scoured the NET and have not found anything that can tell me why we are receiving these error messages. Anybody?
Note: We are running Report Server 6i Patch 10 (6.0.8.19.0) on a Windows 2000 box. Dev Tools are Patch 10 as well.

Hi James,
We have never heard of this issue before. We can undeerstand the REP error if there is some contradiction in Report request between deformat and the mode. But since you told this happens once in a while, that too randomly, it seems, wrong message is being displayed. I suggest you get in contact with Oracle support on this issue. This need to be looked into.

Error while installing Oracle 10g on Fedora Core 1. After 40% of the Installation is thru, the progress bar is showing 40%, it gives error "Not connected to Oracle" and the installation has to be terminated.
We have tried by using the on-line procedure and changing the required script to make believe it as said.

Well, you've a blank space which isn't a number, that's why you have an error.

No harm, your database created just fine, but probably didn't configure listener.ora, sqlnet.ora, and tnsnames.ora. Just run netca and finish the tns confiiguration.

I found some suggestion on google and tried to not use ip address in DISPLAY settings...
if I am using 0.0 instead of IP below eg.
[oracle@staging database]$ DISPLAY=:0.0; export DISPLAY
The error I am receiving differnt error
[oracle@staging database]$ ./runInstaller

ssh -X oracle@DB_Server
& the first & only command after logging onto the DB Server should be as below
xclock
If/when xclock fails, then OUI will fail.
