Repacking of Handling Units

Hello All,
In HUM, there is a Handling unit with some quantity of material in it. This HU is assigned to an Outbound delivery. Now I want to repack the items into another HU (having different packaging material) and delete the previous HU. I try this process in HUPAST, although I do the deleting and reapacking process during saving I get a hard stop message as "Movt type 990 is not for immediate confirmation". This does not allow me to save the things in delivery. When I checked in spro, 990 is set for repacking without immediate confirmation.
Can some one please explain me what process to be done for repacking in this case.
Thanks,
Amit G

Hello All,
I used LT09 to transfer the HU to repacking storage type and that solved the problem.

  • Delivery item not generated after repacking handling units

    Dear All,
    I am using handling units. In the outbound delivery, I pick handling units using transfer orders. When the TO is confirmed, I get a line for packing material items in my delivery.This is because in the customizing for delivery type, I have flagged the required indicator.
    Then, I repack the contents into an already existing HU and then delete the empty HU.I use BAPI_HU_CHANGE_HEADER  to assign HU to delivery, WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE to repack contents and BAPI_HU_DELETE_FROM_DEL to delete the emptied HU.The problem is that no lines are generated for the handling units into which contents were repacked.
    Any ideas?

    no solution.

  • Confirming transfer order for nested handling units (picking and shipping)

    Hi
    My shipping location is HU + WM, I understand we cannot "auto confirm" Transfer Orders during creation from an outbound delivery (LT03) in the case of nested HUs because the system wants to know which exact box HUs ( The TO only specifies the pallet HU...storage unit)
    I have an automatic Pick HU created during TO confirmation but the system still prompts for me to enter  box HUs that need to be shipped/repacked on LT12. This makes logical sense but is slowing down our shipping process. Since we do not put HU labels on our boxes, the picker has to go into HUMO, enter the pallet HU, retrieve the box HUs and finally enter some of those on the TO confirmation screen to match the open quantity. In reality we don't really care what HUs he picks as long as he picks from the right pallet.
    Is there any way to automate this? If the system can pick box HUs sequentially, randomly or create further pick HUs. Anything but doesnt ask the picker to put in the box HU numbers
    OR
    Is there a way to auto confirm TOs during creation
    OR
    Is there any way to putaway box level HUs into the warehouse at the end of the production line so that Storage Unit is the box HU number and not the pallet HU number, that way it wouldn't prompt me for box HUs during picking.
    I would really appreciate your help.

    This is the standard SAP for picking nested handling units.  You can do some more reading on this by accessing the SAP note 829266.
    We had a similar problem with nested handling units - what we ended up doing was writing a BDC program that would take the nested handling unit and pack it back onto that HU instead of the pick HU after TO confirmation was done in the delivery.
    In order to get your TO to automatically confirm, check the configuration for the storage type that its picking from - look to see if "Storage Type requires confirmation for removal/placement" is checked.
    You can als ocheck the movement type configuration for Propose Confirmation.

    Hi
    Handling Unit Management
    Purpose
    You can use Handling Unit Management (HUM) to reflect packing-based logistics structures in the SAP System. Using this method, you track the movements of entire handling units and the materials they contain rather than tracking each material individually.
    When you base logistics processes on handling units, goods movements processing is made easier, which in turn optimizes all logistics operations. This simplified processing includes the existing packing function in shipping and warehouse processing in the Warehouse Management system, which is expanded here.
    Features
    In the system, the handling unit (HU) expands on the shipping unit. Handling units can be nested, which means that you can create new handling units from several handling units as often as you like. At the material item level, HUs contain the complete material identification, the quantity, and, in the case of serial numbers, the respective object list. Handling units have unique, scannable identification numbers that can be developed according to standards such as EAN 128 or SSCC.
    Handling units contain all inventory management information of the materials they contain that are maintained in Inventory Management. There are also status messages that you can call up at any time that indicate whether a handling unit is only planned or if the ship-to party has been notified of the arrival of this handling unit, or whether it is in the warehouse or has already been posted to goods issue. The integrated history function also records each business process in the life cycle of each handling unit, meaning that you can track the handling unitu2019s path and development at any time.
    In HU-managed storage locations, all goods movements are executed through the specification of the respective HUs, and Inventory Management is performed through the handling units. If you are not working with HU-managed storage locations, you can use handling units (without stock information) as before in the delivery and in the shipment.
    In HU-managed storage locations, materials can be managed in HUs only. Mixed stock (stock made up of packed and non-packed materials within the same storage location) is not supported. HUs can also be managed in interim storage types. Unpacking a material from an HU means that the stock of the material is posted to a storage location that is not HU-managed.
    If you call up normal material movements in connection with an HU-managed storage location, a delivery is created, rather than a direct material posting, which has been the procedure up to this point.
    Handling units are unique at client level in at least one system. Using an indicator at client level (see Unique Identification of Handling Units), you can control whether you are going to work with the HU functions. Since the handling unit is a physical unit, the central logistics processes are controlled through the input of the handling unit identification. These processes include putaway, picking, and stock transfers, as well as goods receipts and goods issues.
    A handling unitu2019s mobility can be limited if quality checks are active. Changes in the stock category caused by a quality inspection are made using a posting change in the handling unit.
    There is also a report available that you can use to find and display handling units using different selection criteria such as material, packing instruction, or storage location.
    Although the handling unit is basically a unit that remains constant in the system, you can change it by repacking the materials it contains. All the packing functions, such as packing, repacking, and unpacking, are completely supported by the handling unit function. In this way, handling units can be created in production, during goods receipt, or in the packing areas of the warehouse. If you have automatic packing, the handling unit is created from the packing proposals defined in the system (from the packing instructions, for example).

  • VLMOVE 321 with nested Handling Unit

    Hi
    I have the following situation:
    - Handling Unit active
    - WM active (with Storage Unit)
    - QM not active
    I have nested HUs:
    .1         HU001
    ...2       HU002
    ......3    Material A, Batch B1, quantity 10 pcs in inspection stock
    ...2       HU003
    ......3    Material A, Batch B2, quantity 20 pcs in inspection stock
    In WM, I have only HU001.
    The first question is: Is possible to manage lower-level HU as Storage Unit in WM? I mean, can I have HU002 and HU003 as storage unit number instead of HU001 in WM?
    The second is: when I try to post HU002 to unrestricted-use stock (with VLMOVE 321), SAP posts the higher HU in unrestricted-use stock, changing also the stock of HU003 (Material A Batch B2).
    I don't want it because Batch B2 isn't inspected!!
    I think that I could unpack HU001, posting change to HU002 and then repack, but this process is very time expensive and it should be done automatically by interface from an external LIMS.
    Have you got any idea?
    If I activate QM-IDI interface (with inspection lots), could it be possible?
    many thanks
    mic

    hi guys
    Iu2018ve met this problem
    *1 we just manage HU in highest level in WM
    you just select the lower-level HU when you confirm TO. we don't need to unpack.
    i just know this. share with you.
    hope help to you.

  • Handling Units Configuration Steps

    Can anybody please send me the step by step configuration steps for Handling Unit.
    Thanks in Advace for your help.
    SUNIL

    The following process chain provides an example of how Handling Unit Management can be set up for integrated implementation in the relevant SAP components
    Process Flow
    Sales and Distribution
    ·        You receive a sales order for certain materials. If you have a special agreement with the customer as to the packaging in which this material is to be delivered, you can reflect this agreement by using existing (or creating) packing instructions and a corresponding packing-instruction determination record. You can use this agreement at any point during packing. If the agreement is limited to this particular order, the information is created in the order in the form of a packing proposal.  This agreement is then also available during packing in repetitive manufacturing and in the delivery.
    ·        An availability check is run for the order items. If the system determines that the sales order cannot be filled by using the warehouse stock currently available, a requirement is created for production (in the case of in-house production) or for purchasing (in the case of external procurement).
    Production
    ·        A manufacturing order (such as a work order) is created for the respective material on the basis of the order requirement.
    ·        The raw material required for production is reserved (if it is in stock).
    Purchasing
    ·        If the raw material is not available in sufficient quantities, or if the material required for the sales order needs to be acquired externally, purchase orders are created from the requirements generated for material procurement.
    Goods receipt
    ·        The vendor notifies the goods recipient of the delivery of the goods by using a shipping notification that also contains the packaging data. The shipping notification generates an inbound delivery that includes the packing information from the shipping notification. If there is no EDI notification, the inbound delivery must be created and packed manually for the purchase order. The handling units are put away and the inbound delivery is posted for goods receipt.
    Quality Management
    ·        If the packing data is known in the inbound/outbound delivery, an inspection lot is created for these handling units and the stock is posted to quality inspection stock upon goods receipt/goods issue.
    ·        If the handling units have been put away in HU-managed storage locations, the handling units can be re-transferred since the stock is still managed through the handling unit.
    Warehouse Management
    ·        Handling units with raw materials are provided in time for production in accordance with the production requirement.
    Quality inspection
    ·        As soon as the quality inspection is complete, the stock in the handling units is posted to unrestricted-use stock or to scrap materials, depending on the usage decision.
    Inventory Management
    ·        If the production storage location is not HU-managed, the goods issue of the raw material takes place through an explicit stock posting or through the verification from production.
    ·        If the production storage location is HU-managed, the goods issue takes place either after successful staging of the materials or through explicit specification of the handling unit.
    Production
    ·        The production process is executed and the raw materials are used.
    ·        The handling units that result from this step are planned.
    ·        As a last step, the material that was produced is packed, either in production or after production. The handling units that are created in this way are confirmed as implemented. If there was no planning, the handling units are created directly as implemented handling units.
    Quality Management
    ·        If the status of the handling unit changes from planned to implemented (or changes during creation of implemented handling units from production), an inspection lot is created for the handling units.
    Inventory Management
    ·        The handling units are posted for goods receipt after verification from production (or in a separate step). Quality Management decides whether the handling unit is to be posted to unrestricted-use stock, inspection stock, or quality-inspection blocked stock.
    Shipping
    ·        An outbound delivery is created from the sales order
    Warehouse Management
    ·        Transfer orders are created for the materials to be delivered and the handling units are picked from stock. If only partial quantities of existing handling units are required, handling units are created for the picked materials.
    ·        The picked handling units are confirmed to the delivery.
    Shipping
    ·        The handling units that were picked can be repacked in the delivery. If there is a packaging proposal in the sales order, the delivery can be packed automatically in accordance with this proposal.
    ·        Goods issue is posted for the handling units.
    ·        The customer is informed through EDI about this delivery.

    Batch:
    In various industries – particularly the process industry – you have to work with homogenous partial quantities of a material or product throughout the logistics quantity and value chain.
    There are various reasons for this:
    Legal requirements (for example, the guidelines set out by GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) or regulations on hazardous material
    Defect tracing, callback activities, and regression requirement
    The need for differentiated quantity-and value-based Inventory Management (for example, due to heterogeneous yield/result qualities or varying constituents in Production.
    Differences in usage and the monitoring thereof in materials planning in SD and Production.
    Production or procedural requirements (for example, settlement of material quantities on the basis of different batch specifications).

             For every line item in sales order line item level item category YNAE will be determined by default as per functional settings.
             Now my requirement is that, if sales order line item doesn't contain 100% confirmed quantity, than i needs to change the default line item category YNAE to YNAG
             which i am trying to do it in USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP becz in this exit i am getting the values in XVBAP and XVBEP and  it is working fine .
             But schedule line category is not getting redetermined automatically what i mean is, if i change the item category to YNAG from YNAE in user exit corresponding schedule line category CB of YNAG is getting determined automatically at the schedule line level and if ichange the schedule line categories in XVBEP in exit USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP, changes are reflecting at the schedule line level but Purchase requisation is not getting created for schedule on SAVE and its delivary dates are also not getting determined properly. If press the option ATP check at the schedule line level than very things will getting corrected in the order.
    i am using UPDKZ = U  in both xvbap and xvbep for changes
    I feel that i am not doing this in proper way, do u have any idea about how to redetermine item category. please let me know if u have any idea .

  • Line item wise Qty in Handling Unit Management

    Dear All,
    I am working and testing Handling Unit Management. As per the client requirement, he wants Multilevel Packaging (Manually) for materials as-
    E.g. 100 Pieces will be packed in 1 Small Carton.
           100 Small Cartons will be packed in 1 Big Carton.
           10 Big Cartons will be packed in 1 Pallet.
    Now while creating delivery I packed 2 materials separately. And in the item level it is showing as a whole, means total 1100 PC packed in 11 Small carton, 11 Small cartons packed in 5 Big cartons and 5 Big cartons packed in 2 Pallets. Please find the below screen shot.
    Now when I check this delivery number in tables LIPS-VBELN, it is showing the entire qty of Small carton, Big carton and Pallets as 11, 5, 2 respectively. But actually it has show each material or line item wise No. of Small carton, Big carton and pallet used.
    E.g. For 1st material Small Boxes = 5
                                   Big Carton = 2
                                   Pallet = 1
          For 2nd material Small Boxes = 6
                                   Big Carton = 3
                                   Pallet = 1
    My question is, is there any table or logic where I can fetch all these details for all material that how many packaging material and qty has been used. Because in packing list the same needs to get printed each line item wise. I checked in VEPO and VEKP table as well but not getting any input.
    Kindly help.
    Regards:
    Abhishek

    First of all, why you don't have any quantities assigned against Small cartons, big cartons and pallets?
    Well, for your requirement. As functional consultant, you should be smart enough to interpret & analysis the data when you have tables and data in hand. Anyways, in your case,
    As Pallet is the highest level pack material.
    Pass HU no of pallet in VEKP- EXIDV, in your case for one of the pallet, it is 1000013558.
    For that you will get, Internal HU no. VEKP-VENUM, say, 86.
    Pass VEKP-VENUM = VEPO-VENUM.
    With that you will get Lower-level HU, VEPO-UNVEL, that will be internal HU No for Big Cartons & VEPO-VEANZ for packing material quantity.
    Then pass VEPO-UNVEL = VEPO-VENUM, by this you will get internal HU No for Small Cartons in VEPO-UNVEL & VEPO-VEANZ for packing material quantity.
    Again, pass VEPO-UNVEL = VEPO-VENUM, by this you will get following info:
    Table - Fields
    Field Desc
    VEPO-VEPOS
    HU item
    VEPO-VBELN
    Delivery
    VEPO-POSNR
    Delivery Item
    VEPO-VEMNG
    Packed quantities
    Try and share your feedback.
    Thanks, JP

  • Create and Pack Handling Units in the Sales Order Using HU_CREATE_ONE_HU

    Hello Experts,
    I am trying to use HU_CREATE_ONE_HU function module to create a handling unit and pack it with specific line items in the sales order program in the background.  I am able to create the handling unit and pack it but it does not get associated to the sales order / line item.  If you look at the sale order's packing proposal, it does not show it packed.  If I look at VEKP / VEPO, I see where it was created but there is no value for vbeln or the posnr I proposed.  Below is the code, I am using.  Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or is there another function module I can use?

    The abap statement does not make sense.
    xlips_high_posnr = ( lips-posnr / tvlk-incpo ) * tvlk-incpo
    posnr & incpo are both type numc length 6.
    Here is my recommendation to catch the divide by zero error.
      data: l_oref    type REF to cx_root.
      data: l_text    type string.
      TRY.
            clear l_text.
             xlips_high_posnr  = lips-posnr / tvlk-incpo.
            CATCH cx_sy_zerodivide INTO v_oref.
              l_text = l_oref->get_text( ).
            CLEANUP.
    *      Put your code to do further processing if it is divide by zero
      ENDTRY.

  • How to unassign handling unit in outbound delivery?

    (Don't Want to delete HU onlu unassign it from delivery: WM requirement)
    I would like to unassign HU in an outbound delivery.
    code i'm using make the handling unit disappear in the overview of HU.
    but corresponding line in the "item overview" are still existing.
    And when I want to copy pack quantities as delivery quantities, system tell me that "50.000 M have already been packed. Quantity cannot be changed. "
    How can I do, to do as if i pushed button "delete assignment" in HU overview?
    Here the code I'm using:
    CALL FUNCTION 'HU_PACKING_REFRESH'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'HU_GET_HUS'
    EXPORTING
    if_lock_hus = 'X'
    it_venum = I_VENUM "it_venum contains l_venum
    IMPORTING
    ET_ITEM_SERIALNO = o_item_serialno .
    CALL FUNCTION 'V51P_DELETE_RELATIONSHIP'
    EXPORTING
    IF_CONTROL = 'X'
    IT_HUS = i_venum
    IMPORTING
    ET_NEW_HUS = LT_HUS
    et_messages = lt_messages

    FATAL_ERROR = 01 .
    CALL FUNCTION 'HU_POST' .
    call function 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT'.
    Please let me know the function module if anybody has idea to unassign from delivery.
