Repeated "Unknown error" messages using selection tools, CS5.1 Illustrator

Installed a Creative suite 5.5 (Master) upgrade where Illustrator (like Photoshop) is renamed CS5.1. Getting repeated "unknown error" message when trying to select an object. I've reinstalled, trashed preference plists, repaired permissions. The annoying error is showing up under MacOS Snow Leopard 10.6.8 (including today's updated) and MacOs Lion. Anyone else on Mac platform experiencing this issue with the Creative Suite 5.5 upgrade? If this can't be resolved soon I will uninstall this version and reinstall the CS5 suite version of Illustrator. But I really don't want to go there after shelling out for the upgrade. Thanks for any feedback.

I read it thoroughly since I am still experiencing the popup error messages when using either selection tool on objects. I did a uninstall and install of CS5.1 (CS5.1 for the suite 5.5 upgrade) and did not install the VectorScribe and XtreamPath 1.4 plugins. The "unplugged" Illustrator worked fine. I then installed VectorScribe -- no problems. Then XtreamPath 1.4 - voila the error popped up.
Anyone else use XtreamPath 1.4 with Lion and had problems? I sent CSValley Support to ask if their plugin works under Lion (according to their system specs, it should).
UPDATE 8-5-11: (CSValley promptly replied back that they had not received any issues similar to mine.)
I installed both plugins (VectorScribe and XP 1.4) on my Macbook Pro and had no problems there which led me to think the XP plugin might be corrupted on my main work machine (MacPro). So I copied the plugin from the MBP to the MacPro and happily (knock on wood) am not getting the error messages.
Somewhere along the way of installing the CS5.5 upgrade and MacOSLion, my XtreamPath plugin was affected.

I am unable to sign in to iTunes to download iPhone apps or purchase from iTunes Store. No problem signing in until today. I think I signed in during the preceding 5 days. But today, each time I typed my Apple ID password I got a red "unknown error," with NO error number. I changed my password but no luck. Problem persisted. You may try the list (skip 5) in this case).
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media, see below. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues downloading some episodes to your iPad.
I would first suggest you sign out of your iTunes account on your iPad, restart the device and sign back in.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap on your Apple ID account > Tap Sign Out

I loaded the photos onto my tablet and images are fine, so do not feel it is the memory card. Any thoughts?

The error message probably said "unsupported or damaged"
The T3 requires Lightroom 3.4.1 or later. You can either upgrade to a more current version of Lightroom (version 5.6 is the most recent) or you can use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert the RAWs to DNG, which should import into Lightroom properly.

I keep getting an Unknown Error message each time I try to update my apps on the App Store. Please help.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Try
Reboot the computer, see if that fixes it.
Then try:
Backup your files off the computer (not TimeMachine) and disconnect
Hold c boot off the 10.6 disk and simply reinstalling OS X
Log in and update to 10.6.8
c boot off the 10.6 disk again and use Disk Utility >Repair Disk
reboot and all should be fine, except some third party programs that install kext files, those will have to be reinstalled from fresh sources.

Unknown Error message appearing when editing Nikon D810 files on Lr 4

Recently bought a Nikon D810 and whenever I import files and have a play around with them Lightroom will freeze and then come up with the Unknown Error message. Just wondering if anybody else has encountered this and if so, what you have done to rectify it?

Then they must be using Lightroom 5. According to the list of supported cameras, support for the D 810 was added in Lightroom 5.6. I seriously doubt that any of your friends are actually using it in Lightroom 4 Unless they are using software to change the camera model in the exif data.

I couldn't launch Dreamweaver CC. An error told me to install "java se 6 runtime". But when I clicked OK I got another error telling me there is a network problem! I found this forum post on CS6 products, so I tried the download link, installed java 6 and presto, it worked! Thanks!

"Unknown" -- that is what is going on.
But seriously folks...that error is one of the hardest to diagnose...so here's what I suggest:
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:

3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:

Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):

5) Install DTM to your PC

To display a continuos Error Message using BADI

                    There's a transaction that makes use of classes and interfaces to display an ALV grid with input enabled frames and fields. There's a need to display an error message using a specified BADI method, which gets triggered after the user enters the input. The error message is working fine for the first time.<b>But when i'm trying to enter the same input and press enter after the error message, the transaction is getting closed. How can i display the same error message, until and unless the user enters the correct input ?</b> I've tried to trace the control using the debugger after the enter is pressed, but the debugger is also getting closed and the control is coming out of the transaction. Help me out in displaying the error message.

Open the interface and go to the Methods tab.
Select the Method and click on Parameters.
In the method parameters, declare a variable
RETURN      Changing      Type     ALM_ME_BAPIRET2_T.
Now, inside your code, declare   DATA : ls_return TYPE bapiret2.
and populate this RETURN table, something like:
        if not ( wa_mara-mtart eq 'SPAR' or wa_mara-mtart eq 'ZMRO' ).
    CLEAR ls_return.
    MOVE 'E' TO ls_return-type.
    MOVE 'ERR_MESSAGE' TO ls_return-id.
    MOVE '999' TO ls_return-number.
    MOVE 'Enter proper error message here' TO ls_return-message.
    INSERT ls_return INTO TABLE return.
    endif.
Then, back in your program, check if this table is empty proceed otherwise, STOP or EXIT.

Unknown error message

The " unknown error" message is making me crazy in my old Mac Book Air late 2008. Since the My internar Wifi - bluetooth is not working I decided to use an USB Wfi adapter.
I had the 10.8 OSX installed but now I formatted the SSD and installed OSX 10.6 and cannot download Mavericks.

When you get unusual error messages like that, it usually means you have a corrupted cache file. Instructions on removing the corrupted cache file can be found here: Deleting a corrupted cache file.
If that doesn't solve the problem, I suggest that you delete dwsync.xml (or move it to a different location). It's used to store synchronization information between your local site and server. If it's missing, DW should generate a new version, but of course, it won't have the old synchronization details.

Unknown Error Message (-9808) Help!!!!!!

I have just started to receive an Unknown Error Message (-9808). Tried going into the Advanced tab to uncheck the "Check for server revocation certificate" yet this did not help.
I downloaded the latest update and that did not help either.

Unknown error message 1417 updating ipod HELP!!

help! I am trying to update me 30gb ipod video and it wont work, itunes 7 did- but not the ipod update 1.2. It will begin to update but then stop and say unknown error message, cannot update (1417). I cant figure this out at all!! I cant add the new episodes of desperate housewives!
