Replace special character in links.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to create an application for WP which is basically an RSS Reader of multiple feeds.
My RSS Feed contain links, specifically image links, which sometimes contain special characters. For example, the character [ë] on my RSS Feed code is shown as [ë], thus making
it impossible for my app to fetch those images, even though they are displayed correctly on browser.
I thought a way to fixing that would be modifying html2xaml.cs to convert [ë] to [ë], but do not have any idea on how to really implement that.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Update:
I have figured out HtmlAgilityPack should have taken care of my problem, but it is not doing its job, I think a manual string replacement is what needs to be done, and I will try it and get back here with the results.
I was hoping for a better community here but anyway I'm going to post updates and the solution to this problem if I ever do find it that is, and I`m sure I will.
This must be a simple task for anyone experienced with Windows app development, but I do not really know why the hell do you people have to remain silent. I was told there would be people that would help me, never have I been so wrong.

Special character "/" replacing with blank with Direct Input Method posting

Hi All,
I am posting FI historical data using Direct Input Method. Payment term contains special character "/"( I/E). SAP standard program replacing Special character "/" with blank (I E) so document posting is failing. Could you please advise.

& special character problem with parseXML() and parseEscapedXML().

I'm having a problem to parse messages that has '&' character. According to metalink note 1340195.1 I tried to use parseXML instead of parseEscapedXML, still had same problem. Try to use parameters instead hardcoding values in the queries:
select * from user where lower(username)=?;
and don't forget to lower the value from java side as well ;-)

Special Character being replaced by Question Marks in Java Mapping

Hi All,
I need some help on Java Mapping related to special characters.
The problem is that i'm using a Java Mapping to add some information to the XML inside the Interface Mapping. This works fine on our development environment but, in our production environment, it replaces the special character with question marks (eg.: á --> ??).
I'm suspecting of some configuration on the Java Virtual Machine that sets the encoding, but i don't have access to it. Does anyone have any clues about this problem?

Say there is a string - "abc's def's are alphabets"
and i need to replace all the ' (apostrophe) with &apos& ..which should look like as below

Can't create database link when password has special character

I'm trying to execute the following statement within sqlplus
create database link alpha connect to scott identified by tiger! using 'db_alpha'
note that the password for the account has an exclamation point in it. the command fails. I've tried placing the password in quotes (') and double-quotes ("). The double-quotes work, but then the link fails to function properly.
We are required to have a special character in our passwords... so how do I get that special character into the password for the database link?

I have put the password within double quotes... so I'm starting to think the problem is something else. I've been reading other posts regarding creating database links and I've obtained limited results. Here's what I've done, and the results I'm getting.
(names changed to protect the innocent)
My oracle database is on SYSA. I'm on SYSB. I set my TWO_TASK=SYSA and just use sqlplus to connect as user1.
I want to run a command on user2's tables. Normally I would just grant read access to user1 on user2's tables and use a command like
nert spaces to get this to save (weird forum bug here, I can't delete the text to the left)

However, user2 is for test data and those tables get dropped and recreated often and it is cumbersome to try to remind everyone to recreate the grants. So I can't trust that user1 will have access to user2's tables. So my goal with the database link is to create a private (for user1 only) database link and access the tables that way, that way I bypass the grant issue. This works out better for me because we only change that password every 2 months. I just recreate the database link once every two months, rather than recreate grants multiple times every week. Well, that's the theory anyway.
Back to creating the database link, I thought my issue was the special character in the password because if I remove the exclamation point everyting works (except that the password is invalid). Below is what it looks like when I do this...
Attempt #1:
SQL> create database link BLAH connect to user2 identified by "tiger" using 'BLAH';
Database link created
SQL> sel{color:black}{color}ect * fr{color:black}{color}om my{color:black}{color}_{color:black}{color}table{color:black}{color}@{color:black}{color}BLAH;

is not for the Replace statement. You would have missed a PERIOD in some statement before this.
When we see the code that you have pasted,
L_VAR = BANGA'LORE
here period is missing at the end of the line. The error could be because of that.

Import over network link fails when table and special character.

I am trying to do an import over the network link. Below is the command I am using to do the import. In the parameter file the table name has "$" sign. Database is on AIX.

Hey all - I'm new the the forums here, so HELLO! I look forward to being part of the community and helping out as much as I can, but as with all new members, I come with a problem that needs solving...
I'm working with complex dynamic template files and, in an effort to simplify the template-building process and boost the efficiency of our system, I am looking for a way to replace something like a special character code to include a pre-defined construct.
For example - I have a template file that looks like this (simplified):

The actual templates are much more complicated than this, but this should be enough for the purposes of demonstration. I am looking for a way to call (for example) my '../rootFiles/builder_navigation.cfm" -- I have two main fuctions the template serves, to represent itself for a builder as well as serve as a template for a publishing script. So, with this in mind, if I am using the builder, I need to call 'builder_navigation.cfm' but if I am publishing the template i need to call 'publish_navigation.cfm.'
So, the above script would be used for the builder, and the below script would be used when a publish is called...

What I am hoping is that I can use a template file like the one below to dynamically call (through a CFINCLUDE) either the publish navigation script or the builder navigation script by using one 'keyword' or 'special code'

This way I can use the same file and call the appropriate navigation template depending on the need. I would use a simple <cfif> statement to determine which I need, but I need to keep this as plain HTML as I can as when the publish scripts are called I need plain HTML as the variables that would be needed by the <cfif> script would not exist after the published template has been created.

I'm sorry for the murkiness - let me clarify:
I have an HTML editor that resides within a template file (visual template) - a user can alter the content, create new content, etc. The user is allowed to choose the template file which to use.
When they are finished they can publish to an HTML/Java/CSS file (full website). I would like to use the same template file for both the editor/builder as well as the publish script.
Only minor changes are needed between the two as present - the first chunk of code in my original represents file1 - the file that is called for the editor.
The second chunk of code in origninal post represents file2 - the file that is called when the publish script is activated.
The thrid chunk of code in the original post is what I would like to create -
So i would like to have the section of code like this:

and replace the "[TEMPLATE_NAVIGATION]" on call with the proper <cfinclude> template. I can think of several solutions for this such as setting the include file as a variable in a different script or using CFIF, but if I could do it this way, it will greatly simplify the process by which I can build and install new templates into the system.
This would also allow me to update the system and its file structure (which is done frequently) without having to edit every template file as well.

Xml publisher reprot - special character problem

I invoice report through xml publisher. I have '&' special character in vendor list. I am getting below error
A semi colon character was expected. Error processing resource.

Hello,
I want to replace special characters such as , or ; with any other character or " ".I find out there is no such function is java for this.There is only replace() but it accepts only chars.If anybody know how to do this?.

How to replace special characters in Purchase order item text in ECC 6.0

Now i am working in ECC environment.
I am unable to replace the special characters in the PO short text for example take the following text.

here i want to replace # symbol with space.
i used replace all occurences, find , transfer, overlay keywords to replace thta special characte but it is not replacing that character.
i used replace_string FM also.it is also not working.
please help me out in this. points will be rewarded.

minchar is HEX u201900u2018 in non-Unicode systems, U+0000 in Unicode systems
maxchar is HEX Xu2018FFu2018 in non-Unicode systems, U+FFFD in Unicode systems
If it still does not help, check the remaining # characters in debugger, switching to hex mode: Then you may see what it is.

Special character in some of the employee records

Hi,
I have found special character in some of the employee records which is causing some reports to error out. Our instance is configured for English language and these special characters are unrecognized by the application. I have attached some employee names with the special character below.

first you need to create a database function like the one below.
the query to identify those records is then the below:
select full_name from per_people_x
where is_not_valid_text(full_name) = 'N'
you can use the function also to verify other fields like addresses and so on.
the corrective action according to me should be a manual one, meaning open the form and update the names not compliant.
