Replaced display even WORSE !!!

*I am so frustrated with Apple and its policy to repair and replace their defective products.*
Ok, my iMac G5 is almost three years, I bought AppleCare, which is about to expire... that's my main concern as my iMac display started to go bad these last months. Screen became lighter and lighter in the bottom, to the point of:
In Photoshop, if I select a solid color in a document that is at the top side of my screen, then I drag the same document and select the same color at the bottom side of my screen, Photoshop will identify it as two distinct colors, even being the same document... the same solid color!!! And I work as a graphic and web designer... unacceptable!!!!!!
*My screen was going really bad...* not just the gradually lighter screen at the bottom, but it started to show ghost images, as those images we used to see in older CRT monitors. I took a couple pictures of those ghost images where the little apple logo was seen on the top left hand side of my screen, and presented it to Apple when I brought my computer.
*Ok... AppleCare, Apple agreed to replace my LCD ... that should be it! But it wasn't!*
Yesterday I stopped by at the North Michigan Av store in Chicago to pick up my iMac and I got surprised my iMac display was replaced by one that had more problems than the previous already defective display I brought in!!! This time the display had dark spots on both lower corners of the screen as if the lights were weaker, and there was also a small darker spot on the center of the screen, as if the pixels or the lights underneath it were getting weaker as well.
I said I wouldn't take it home... no chances, that's my work tool and the reason *I bought AppleCare was exactly to make sure at least for three years I'd be covered for any issue.*
The Genius guy even told me I wouldn't have to expect things to be 100%, and that there are things that can escape their control... that's ridiculous! *I told him NOTHING can escape Apple's control if I have AppleCare*... the computer has a problem and I expect the problem to be either fixed or have my iMac replaced. Not my fault Apple doesn't produce the iMac 17 inches any more. It really seems that Apple is fixing these iMacs using possibly returned LCDs from old iMacs. Oh! I forgot to say that the LCD was kind of warped and it didn't fit perfectly inside the unit, leaving some gaps on the corners. The Genius guy called it "cosmetic" details and that he wouldn't guarantee that the new LCD would be perfectly fitting inside the iMac but his concern was the brightness.
I just bought a really CHEAP LCD monitor for my Mac mini ... 150 bucks and the screen brightness is solid and consistent... the same I would expect from an Apple product.
I told the Genius guy I WOULDN'T accept a display that's brighter at the bottom with the excuse my computer is 3 years old and can't be perfect. That's why Apple sells AppleCare ... and I don't care if it's almost three years! My iMac is still under the warrant for another month!
*I am really frustrated and mad I don't have my work tool* and I see Apple trying to fix my computer with parts that are even worse than the original defective one.
There is even an iMac G5 Repair Extension Programme for Video and Power Issues.

Forgot to say when I bought my iMac 3 years ago I had my Super Drive replaced the first week because it couldn't read DVDs.

NEW iMAC!!!
I was so frustrated... I went to pick up my iMac and the third screen was even worse than the second... that was worse than the first...
The Genius guy tried to push me the defective screen again... saying she couldn't see any problem ... that the screen seemed to be fine!
I didn't want to waste my time again and asked for the store manager... a very polite young guy... he listened to my story and offered to have the screen replaced again... it'd be the fourth screen! plus the SuperDrive issue that wasn't even reported by the person who talked to me on the phone last time... She assured me she had entered this extra information on the repair ticket...
After (I believe) he saw my sincere frustration on having to work with a screen that isn't close to Apple's standards... *he decided to give me a new machine*!
I was SO FRUSTRATED! I told him I don't have ANY GAME on my machine! I use it only to create my artwork... *it is my work tool*... and I went with Apple the first time because of the *quality of the products*!
And with my warrant almost expiring I was afraid I would end up with a bad computer in a couple months!
Apple didn't lose a machine by doing that but just kept a *happy customer* who will be back in a couple years for a *higher end product* and will talk well about the company!
Really happy but much more... *FEELING RESPECTED*!

    So this is the second replacement iPhone 4S I received from an apple genius.
    The battery life is even worse on this one. Down 1% every 2-5 minutes?! Fully charged at 109% and during usage, it went down to 90% in 45 minutes. All of the settings that have been recommended to turn off are off and still nothing.
    Here's a list of all the settings that are off
    Ping
    All the location advanced settings like setting time zone
    Automatic time change
    3G/data
    Most notifications
    Etc etc
    Even after doing a DFU mode restore without any back up and no syncing any apps, music, etc, still the same
    You know how annoying it is to be using your phone and you constantly see your battery percentage going down every 2 minutes?!
    The genius that "helped" me yesterday was useless and rude.
    Honestly, if it's a software problems, then why is it only iPhone 4s out of everybody in my family? That's 4 other people with the iPhone 4S and 2 people with the iPhone 4, all on 5.0.1 yet I'm the only one with the battery issues?
    Yes it is weird that both replacement iPhones that I received has horrible battery life but I don't get how I'm the only one in the family that has this problem.
    I'm so annoyed and i hate the "genius" that helped me yesterday.

    i understand from all your saying regarding everything  is off,brightness is down,vibrate is off,3g is off,location off,no emails set up,time change,wi-fi,,etc etc
    ok ,how long did you charge up your iphone for initally for ?
    let the battery die ,leave it for a few hours ,(use another mobile if you need a mobile)
    recharge the iphone,when you get sum power,unplug ,check for updates,do a reset,then reconnect to charge it,when fully charged,keep all your settings off.use as per usual .
    see how your battery copes then,
    again do same thing with letting battery die out before recharging.
    if problem continues then i would take it back to the store

  • HP8500 is unreliable! Tech Support is even worse!

    UNRELIABLE!  I've spent months trouble shooting error messages and trying to resolve printer problems. This model is just a bad design AND the replacement printer was even worse. I'm trying to get a SECOND replacement printer and Tech Support is just a waste of time with nothing but false promises!
    Cut your losses--return the printer if you can. Don't buy any more ink or waste your valuable time trouble shooting problems. Even when the printer works, it doesn't work well or as advertised.  These problems never go away they just waste your time and make you crazy. 
    The most horrible experience I've had with any hardware and any printer! WASTE OF TIME and MONEY! I'm constantly replacing cartridges, cleaning the print head, checking for updates for the driver, updating the firmware, and searching the HP web site for resolutions. And Tech Support is just a total waste of time!
    Whenever I click on PRINT, I pray the job starts and finishes. And if it does start, then I sit by the printer babysitting the paper feed and hoping my paper doesn't get stuck, mangled or smudged.
    Examples:
    "Paper tray is empty" - there's paper in the tray so you have to constantly stop and reload the tray (15 times for a 15 page print job) OR you manually feed paper and the printer mangles your expensive paper.
    "Missing or damaged ink cartridge" - all new ink cartridges are installed. The HP website doesn't even list this error. "Missing or damaged print head", so you clean the print head and the problem is still not resolved.
    "Cartridge is empty" -- but you just installed a new cartridge (and spent $100 on new cartridges)
    Automatic duplex printing doesn't print the back page correctly--the page doesn't print as previewed. The margins are off.
    Scanning documents to the computer just stops working (wireless laptop or hard-wired desktop). Error message says to review the documentation.  You end up scanning to a USB flash drive and then uploading your images to the hard drive. 
    And a lot of other bogus error messages....
    And in between the error messages, the printer is re-aligning and checking status and telling you to wait while it creaks and chugs and sounds like it's going to fall apart, while you wait and pray it will print your job.
    Don't try to print for a deadline, the printer will surely fail. It's faster to route or take your print job to Kinkos!

    8500 Officejet Pro AiO Wireless.  Still under warranty, in the last week and a half I have spent over 9 hours with 7 different people in tech support.  I contacted them initially because when you scanned a document to file it was huge, its output size was gigantic, and the resize output option tab was always gray and never available.  Every single person I talked to continuously thanked me for my patience and had me do the same exact thing - diagnostics, remove everything HP from my computer, reinstall everything.
    Problem was, from the very first uninstall and reinstall, they created a different problem.   All of my scan to destinations disappeared.  You would go to scan, scan to and in the destinations file NOTHING.  So we uninstalled and reinstalled 7 times, with everyone I spoke with extremely difficult to understand, and having to repeat myself constantly.  It was very clear they all sat in a class somewhere and were taught the same basic crap information with no real knowledge of how anything works.  And constantly thanking me for my patience and repeating the same bs out of each and every mouth.
    I gave one of the tech's, and I use that term loosely, remote access to my computer.  He spent 2 1/2 hours uninstalling and reinstalling with complete access to my computer.  Same result.  He gave me a ticket # and said I would get a call back from the "next level of support".  No call-back.  I call them.  Give them the ticket number.  They tell me that request has been closed.  I said I have not been given a solution.  He said the tech I spoke with for 2 1/2 hours and gave full access to my system noted that I had called with a question, and that was all he said in his notes.  He didn't say he had full access to my system, or that he and uninstalled and reinstalled everything HP, or that he had promised me a person with further knowledge would call me with the solution.  Now I am wondering if this person is going to commit identity theft against me because he had access to my system, and nowhere in the HP mess does it state that he accessed my system.  Total lack of accountability on HP's part and obviously not monitored by anyone.  They put me at great personal risk by allowing this very dangerous practice.
    Today's latest person told me he was going to send me a new printer and that a supervisor would call me back to confirm this.  That was 10 hours ago.  Still can't scan, still have the problem HP created on my machine, still have no solution.
    Myy initial problem is well documented on the internet by hundreds of other users of this same machine, and none of the sites nor HP has a solution, nor does HP seem in any danger of caring to find a solution.  Stay tuned

    iOS 8 runs terribly on iPhone 4S.
    And it is even worse after I updated it to 8.0.2.
    The icon of Calendar App is fail to display.
    Calculator App is completely crashed.
    UI of phone is totally gone. Once I make a call, the screen shows black, and it makes me cannot hang up the phone!
    Apps keep crashing randomly.
    Disappointing! iPhone 4 created the world of iPhone. Now iOS 8 and iPhone 6 are destroying everything!

    My 1Password program no longer is syncing after the update and I cannot read rft files in DropBox created with Text Edit.

  • Battery Life EVEN WORSE After 5.1 Update

    I didn't think it was possible, but my battery life is even worse after upgrading to ios 5.1
    I'm thinking it's a hardware issue, but it's an unlocked phone purchased in the US, and I'm now in Israel, so I don't know if Orange or any local carrier will exchange it with me unfortunately.
    Suggestions?
    I'm going to call Apple but I also doubt they will fedex me a new one. They need to hurry up and build their Haifa store here already...

    No, i don't. if i did i would have tried it. do you have to sign up an appled ID for iCloud? If the answer is yes then they should mention that in the set-up instructions.

  • Downloaded OS 5 "fix" battery usage even worse I think

    I travel a lot and since the first os 5 update my iphone was just cranking through power now with the "fix" it seeems even worse. This is a real problem.Anybody have any answers. I have everything (all the misc stuff) off.  We need some help here.

    I have just noticed my Iphone 4S battery is draining pretty fast since Jan 19. Before this, phone might go 3 days before needing recharge. Nothing really changed other than some app updates, and I just deleted all the apps that updated. Can't figure this out. Losing 10% of battery power every hour. Anyone else got this surprise power usage?

  • Flash player not running in Firefox, even worse in IE

    I can't seem to be able to run the Flash player.  If I try to run a video on Adobe TV, I can see a normal video player with the buttons I would expect to see: Pay, Rewind, etc.  But nothing happens when I press Play.  I tried this same video using IE, but it looks even worse: I see nothing but a white box -- no controls at all.
    I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit.  I'm using the latest version of Firefox (3.6.11) and the latest version of Flash (10.1.85.3).  I almost never use IE, so I don't know whether I have the latest verion or not (8.0.7600).
    Suddenly and recently, I'm having an additional problem.  I don't know whether it could be related or not, but just in case:  I suddenly could not upload a file using Firefox.  I could, however, upload the same file using IE.  I've checked all my security settings in Windows, Firefox, and McAfee, but can't find anything which would block uploading.
    Another bit of info just in case: Windows stealthily installed Windows  Live.  When I started having the upload problems, I uninstalled Windows Live.

    I've found the problem, and it had noting to do with Flash.  All the problems were caused by me: somehow (and for some unknown reason) I had my security software set to block "Firefox Plugin Container" which was needed to run the Flash player.  Unblocking this also fixed my Firefox uploading program.
    Thanks for your reponse, though, helpful person whose name I cannot read :^) You started me learning more about video players, and that finally caused me to stumble across the right answer.

    just got my n91, it was reseting on it's own, and i updated version to 2.00.052, and now it's even worse, takes almost 3-4 minutes when sending a txt msg or pulling up gallery etc.. please help

    Hey.. It seems like your phone was not properly upgraded. Here follow these steps:
    1. Back up all your data.
    2. Format your HDD
    3. Now update your phone again using the latest updater (V1.1.30)
    4. Now before you put back your data install the sms accelerator from http://www.europe.nokia.com/A4158100
    5. Now put back all your data.
    It should work fine now.
    MAYBE U WANNA TRY INSTALLING THE SMS ACCELERATOR FIRST AND SEE IF IT SOLVES YOUR PROBLEM.

    Not good enough, I asked for it to be treated by someone in Europe.
    Why not propose that someone in Europe looks at it instead of saying that the analyst isn't available? Plus, she said that she'd look and see if they had enough resources to deal with the SR. Sorry but this bs didn't happen 3 or 4 years ago. I can't say to MY clients that Oracle haven't got the resources to fix a problem.
