Report 10g server problem

When I run a report in web from report builder, it shows in the browser as follows:
C:\Temp\docroot\MODULE5006005276.htm.
I never find or get 'http://host:8889/reports/rwservlet/'..
If I want to use web.show_document, how can I find reports service? I am confused.
I installed developer 10g, where I can start Form service. But I never find Report server seperately.
What do I need to do?

There are 2 types of reports server :
1 - in-process reports server : "execute " the URL : http://host:8889/reports/rwservlet/getserverinfo to start it and see its name
2 - Standalone reports server : It can be started with the command :
rwserver server=repservername

Report 10g graph problem

i have a problem in graph wizard in reports 10g
when i want do display more than 3 diferent data in plot areao of graph wizard only first 3 rows can be seen and adjusted, others can not.
is there a way to see and adjust more then 3 rows in plot area?

Not directly. You have to edit graph.xml file (in property pane of your graph). Some details about this file you can get from How to... topics on Products page

Forms and Reports both uses same oc4j. So, the port
for reports also will be same as forms.

Running Reports 10g on Apps Server

We have a Windows 2003 apps server running Oracle Forms and Reports 10g.
We are having a problem running reports in Oracle 10g, and believe it to be something to do with the configuration files. Currently, we can run the test report through Enterprise Manager using both the default reports service and the one that we have created. However we are unable to run our own reports through forms.
To check that there was nothing wrong with our forms, we copied one of the reports into the â¦\forms10g\reports\samples\demo folder to see if we could run it through Enterprise Manager. However, we get the following error:
Rep-110: Unable to open file â¦â¦
Rep-1070: Error while opening or saving a document.
Rep-0110: Unable to open file â¦...
We then renamed the test.rdf file and tried to run that. Again we got the above message. Next we tried again to run test.rdf, even though this no longer existed, and the report ran. This implied that it isn't actually running the report, but has the report output stored somewhere, and it just displays this.
No matter how we try to run reports, and with which reports service, we always get the above error.
So why is it that no reports will run, not even the test one when it is renamed? Is there a configuration setting somewhere?

Hope YOu are fine.
We have running Oracle Forms and Reports Services 10g on Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
The Application Works fine, and reports are generated successfully.
But when we access the same application by using either Linux OS (RHEL 4.0, Ubuntu 6),
The forms works fine but Linux OS could not run the report.
This seems to be a configuration problem.
Any Clues.

Bind to report server problem

hello all
please i want your help of my case that iam trying to run areport from aform both are (10g).
the problem is when calling the report from a button in aform with this code in the ''when_button_pressed'' trigger
web.show_document('http://localhost:8889/reports/rwservlet?&report=c:\MODULE2.jsp&destype=cache&desformat=PDF&userid=scott/tiger@ahmad');
it generates for me aweb page with an error (REP-51002: BIND TO REPORT SERVER FAILD).
The advise presented from reports builder help is to make sure that the Reports Server is running and that the Reports Server name is correct.
so i make from run the following test ''rwserver'' it gives me aprompt with a message (please consult the installation guides for how to setup and run this program).
so please please help find the solution.
note: when i try to run the report from the report builder it works good and generates the report properly both paper layout or web layout.

i have tried your steps you have written in the last theared on my pc and on another pc has the same (10 g release) and project and i got the following results:
1.For the scond pc evry thing was good and works properly. when performeing the command (rwserver server= rep_server) it intializes the report server and starting it very well and calling a report from aform goes well. and when running your form REPORT_SERVER_LIST.fmx it gives me the results for list of rep servers started.
But on my pc which has the problem when running the command (rwserver server= rep_server) it starting the rep server for a 1 or 2 seconds then quickly shutdown the report server alone.
when trying again and again when starting the rep server it gives a windos error msg says (connot delete file ''rep_repservername'') and shut down the rep server.
can u please rajesh explain for me wy it is happening?
i have tried to solve the problem so i vave opened the (Devhome\reports\server\) and and i found the reports servers files thier. i have recognised that that those files is (.dat) files and was considered the (Windos media player 10) as the recomended program to open . Do you think Rajesh that the (Windos media player 10) desabling the report servers and shutdown it??? becuase i have so that no recomended progrom to open in the good pc.

Problem with Crystal Report Job Server Destinations

I am using Crystal Reports XI Server and I am having problems with scheduling. I believe that the problem is that I have not enabled any destinations under the Crystal Reports Job Server. The following is an observation list:
-Enabled and set up all destinations for other servers, such as the Destination Server.
-Have been able to use Infoview to directly email, inbox, and file save reports in different formats (I believe the Destination Server controls this, right?)
-All servers are enabled in the Central Configuration Manager
-Have been able to go into the Crystal Reports Job Server within the CMC, but I DO NOT FIND ANY destinations to enable (why is this?)
-Have not been able to schedule an instance of any report (neither email, nor inbox, nor file, ...nothing)
Could somebody please help me with this? Is this a limitation to the Crystal Reports XI Server vs the Enterprise edition? Is there something else I am missing? I have never been able to successfully schedule a report.

I have Crystal Reports XI Server R2 installed as 5 named user license (version that comes with developer)
The following servers are enabled in CMC (which is all of them)
-Input.DomainNameSQL
-DomainNameSQL.cacheserver
-DomainNameSQL.cms
-DomainNameSQL.destinationjobserver (has all destinations enabled)
-DomainNameSQL.eventserver
-DomainNameSQL.ListofValuesJobServer (no destination tab)
-DomainNameSQL.pageserver
-DomainNameSQL.programjobserver (has all destinations enabled)
-DomainNameSQL.RAS
-DomainNameSQL.reportjobserver (has destinations tab, but there are no destination entries to enable! Object type is: CrystalEnterprise.Report and detail: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/UserException:1.0
. Details: %2.'
These are the ONLY two event IDs that appear after I schedule the report instance. No other events occur.
Are there any other logs that I can check? How do I look up what event ID 45387 and 45385 are?

Report 10g output in excel problem

I am using forms 10.1.2.0.2. I am calling the report from Forms parameter. I have passed the report_desformat=SPREADSHEET. But when i run the report it shows nothing and no out put is generated.
Please help me to find out the problem.

1- Are you getting a blank output? or nothing is happening when you call the report from Forms?
2- What is the status of the report job in Reports Queue manager?
3- Try to run the same report with the same parameters from the browser URL and compare behavior.
e.g
http://hostname:port/reports/rwservlet?report=<report name>&server=<reports server name>&destype=cache&desformat=spreadsheet&paramform=no&userid=user/pass@db&any_other_parameter=value ....

ORARRP Problem with Oracle Forms and Reports 10g

i have a problem with orarrp utility. the printeroutput is sometimes mirrored or only a blank sheet. is this a known problem? are there any workaraounds available? what can i do to fix the problem? please help me.

But i have not installed IAS at all. I have only Forms and Reports 10g and Oracle database installed. As you said it only save on IAS, but can we save it on local machine. Is there any other alternative.
Again my second issues is --> I want to remove Mail option and rename Cache option to PDF from Destype combo box which appears at run time.
Any idea how we can do this?

500 Internal Server Error while calling Reports 10g

I am using standalone forms and report services. I am getting intermittently 500 Internal Server Error while calling Reports 10g.

500 Internal error is a generic error and it could be due to multiple reasons like misconfiguration or the dearth of the resources.

Report 10g print preview problem

hi,
i use report 10g (HTMLCSS)
when send to printer i have problems as:
1- page stream should not show to print preview
2- page sizing changed in print preview
but when send directly to printer without page stream i have not problem with page sizing and margin just i have problem with page number i cant set page number as ( from page to page)
please help me.

While printing report from the HTML page you can change the margin and header/footer setting by clicking or File>Page Setup>Margin & Header/Footer.
Just edit those property upon your requirement and then print report.

Migration from SQL Server Reporting Services to Oracle Reports 10g

I have few reports which have been created using the Microsoft Sql Server Reporting Services.Now i want to create similar reports using Oracle Reports 10g.
Will i need to start from scratch the creation or is there migration tool that would reduce the efforts for the same.

Do you think this is the same issue?
We installed some Windows Server Updates about 3 months ago (at the time, over 70 Windows updates were installed) but, this problem hasn't shown up until 2 or 3 weeks ago. I think a .Net Service Pack might have been part of the updates at that time. When we did the updates, Windows was shutdown and updates installed per the preferred option of Windows. But now when rebooting since that time, the server continually reccomends the install updates and shutdown option. Do we need to rollback the server to date prior those updates if possible? Any Thoughts...

is there a replacement for the 10g Forms&Reports standalone server in 11g environment? Without the need to install Metadata Repository?

I believe you can install the equivalent in Forms 11g.
If you don't install Portal or Discoverer, then you are not required to install any Metadata repository.
So the steps would be:
1) Install Weblogic Server 11g
2) Install Forms and Report Services 11g

Calling Reports 10g from Forms 10g without an app server

I have Forms 10g, and for development/testing purposes I am able to run a form in my local machine using the standalone OC4J. I needn't to deploy the form to test it.
I can do the same with Reports 10g -- run a report in my local machine without an app server.
However, I could not manage to call a Report from a Form that way, without an app server. It does not seem possible -- is it? Is there a way to set this up using the standalone OC4J or something like that?

Sorry for the late reply.
Here's how you start the report server from windows XP machine.
1. Choose a unique name for the report server. Eg. <your_pc_name>_repserver
2. As the report server runs in its own process, it can be started by the following command, accessible from the \ bin directory of the
Oracle Developer Suite or Oracle Application Server 10g installation.
rwserver –install <server_name> . It is now treated as a windows service and hence you can stop/start or restart from the services menu.
3. If you want specific settings for your report server, look for the <rep_server_name>.conf file under <orahome>/reports/conf directory, after starting the server from above command. This file is created by oracle automatically, once the rep server gets started.
