Report download

Hi,
Is it possible to define the column with of the report when downloaded as csv? If so, how?

I have a report column with STRING type even though it will always contain numbers. When the report is downloaded as CSV, the numbers are converted into exponential form - e.g. 2.00001E+11. Is there a way to fix this? how? please help.

IR Saved Report - Download to CSV downloads Primary Report

Hi there
I'm using Apex 4.1, I login to my Apex application NOT using the developer interface (the developer buttons are not visable at the base of the page) as an end user would see.
If I run an IR report and then create a filter on the Primary report the report runs OK. I then click Actions -> Download and then Download the report output to a CSV file (correctly filtered) to a Excel spreadsheet. I then Save this report giving the report a Name and Description. I then logoff from the Apex application. So far so good.
I then login back on to my Apex Application. When I choose and run the Saved Report (described above - not the Primary report) the saved report runs correctly (applying the correct filter condition), HOWEVER when I then click on Actions - Download I seem to get the Primary report downloaded as a CSV file into my Excel spreadsheet - the filter condition that is applied to the saved rerport is ignored for the Downloaded CSV file. The File Downloaded is a new CSV file generated in Apex as reported in my Firefox 'Downloads' list.
Does anyone know if this is a Bug or have I not set up the IR correctly.

IRR report number format after report download

APEX 4.1
I have an IRR report which has a column with data like 1010390000000090.
On report download using IRR CSV download option the data appears as 1.01039E+15 i.e. with scientific notation.
User wants this column to show proper number and not in scientific notation format.
I tried using to_number in report query

Can you remove column headers from report downloads?

I'd like to remove the column header from the report downloads. For example, the report download file currently looks like:
EMPNO,ENAME
7839, KING
7698, BLAKE
Where as I'd like it to just be:
7839, KING
7698, BLAKE
Does anyone know if this is possible?

There is a work around that I used before:
- Create a new page.
- create a report region and copy your origional report query in it
- in report attributes >> choose no header
- in report attributes >> choose "CVS report" as your new report tempate.
- go back to your origional report, create a button in that page ( call it EXPORT ) that submits as EXPORT
- create a conditional branch that goes to your new report page , make it conditional ( when EXPORT button is clicked)
This way, you will have a new EXPORT button on top ( or whereever you want ) of you report, when you click on it , it shows a download prompt for your export , the export won't have headers..

which version r u using? until obiee11.1.1.5 its bug but solve it by workaround method . also the bug fixed in obiee.11.1.1.6

Activity Report download is saved without extension and unreadable

Hello,
The Portal Activity Report iView has a button which enables the user to download the report to his PC.
The problem is that when the user clicks on that button and saves the file it is being saved by this default name: com.sap.portal.activityreport.frontend.DownloadableActivityReport
The main problem is that it is being saved by default without any extension and after saving the user needs to manually add the .xls suffix.
Another problem is that once I open the report with Excel The Object Name column is unreadable.
Is there any way to resolve these issues?

The feature in general of course was supported, but what I cannot say is if it was a known issue that it didn't work correctly. As I dont't use the ActivityReport, I also have no experience if it didn't work at some time and maybe now is working.
The wrong filename I don't expect to be corrected in the meanwhile, as said, that's a problem in some places. So at least for this you could open an OSS message. And maybe combine this with the problematic column issue.
But if upgrading to SP18 would be an option for you, maybe you could first test that.

Hi,
You can use concat function or also '||' to combine two columns.
1. with concat-
concat("D4 Product"."P01 Product","D4 Product"."P02 Product Type")
2. With '||' operator
"D4 Product"."P01 Product" || '-'||"D4 Product"."P02 Product Type"
(Remove '-' if not required)

Export option in ALV report downloades first two columns blank

Hi ,
Before posting this query I searched the solution in SDN but I did't find the solution.
My problem is After displaying report in ALV format ,if I press Export --> Local file --->spreadsheet ; file will downloaded to excel sheet but first two columns(only heading no data ) will be blank and next two columns with proper data.
I checked field catalog defination it seems to be ok, any other mistake ?
Please suggest.

It's the option you have in the path System->List->Save->Local file
I means it's the standard option to export an abap list into a local file, so you should try this path too and check if the resul it's the same
I think you should choose Export --->spreadsheet: here before saving the file an excel document will be open

Remove HTML from Interactive report download

I have interactive reports where the column link on a specific column has to be dynamic, that means, it cannot be hard coded in the column link attributes. The following is an example of one such report query:

The column attribute of the "Object Name" column has "Display Type" set to "Standard Report Column". That works perfectly fine in the UI of the report. However, if I download the IR data (in any format) from the Actions -> Download menu, the object name column values are downloaded with the HTML characters as:
< href="f?p=15548:183:6072319179284::::P183_OBJECT_ID:255245470513999672860510787772603748464">JP010000</>where JP010000 is the object name.
Is there a way I can strip the HTML from the column values in the downloaded files?
I am using Apex 4.1.

You can define the link in the query, make it hidden, use the value as column link URL. So, your query will look like the following:

end linkChange the display type of LINK column to Hidden. In column link, enter #OBJECT_NAME# as Link Text. Select URL as Target. Enter #LINK# as URL value. In APEX 4.2, you can do this in easier way by defining HTML Column Expression.

Strip Tags From Interactive Report Download.

Hi,
Is it possible to strip html tags from a column during a CSV download on a interactive report?
Basically i have a report where one of the columns is as follows
453<font color="red"> | </font>0
but in the download i want to strip out the tags so in the csv the column would show
453 | 0
Any ideas how i can do this using the standard csv download from the drop down menu?

Report download displays wrong format in excel

I have a text field that is a number, dash, then four numbers 1-2345..
in an interactive report, when I download to CSV or XLS this field is converted to a date field 1/1/2345..
If I then change format to text it divides the numbers and gives me the output..
the only workaround I can find is: save to csv.. rename extention to .txt... then when you open the txt the import wizard will run and you can change the column type to text before excel screws everything up...

tried both already.
same results opening the file..
and using ''''||FIELD as ALIAS then doesnt show the data just the '
fyi.. the field has both 1-2345 and 1-2345-B (the ones with the dash -B work correctly and they showed up when I added the ''''||FIELD)

10G Reports download in 11g

Hello All
I downloaded the sample reports for OIM in BI Publisher 10G but I want to use 11g based on better security capabilities. I was wondering if there is a way to import the 10g reports from the download into 11g? I found a couple documents on the ua.bat utility for upgrading repositories and catalogs, but I don't have a 10g install to copy any of the data from. Do you know if it is possible to install the 10g reports on the 11g server? I have the jdbc connection already setup, just need to get the report samples uploaded if possible. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Hello, I had the same question a while back. Response I got back from Oracle Support was that it's not possible to export a report from 10g and import into 11g. You either have to recreate the entire report or upgrade the repository.
Seems a bit short sighted to me from a migration standpoint, but that's what I know.

Interactive Report Download to CSV limit is 65535 in APEX 3.2

Hello ,
I have an IR report in APEX 3.2 that returns around 75,000 rows . I have set the maximum row count in the report attributes under Pagination to 200,000 rows.
Despite this when I download the report to CSV, only 65535 rows are downloaded .
Is this a known bug with APEX 3.2 ? can someone please share the link if this bug is documented.
If not, Is there some other attribute I need to change to increase the download limit ?

Thanks for the reply . I have adjusted maximum row count to 100,000, even then I can download only 65535 .
I have around 12-15 Interactive Reports(each with different Query) and I do not want to write a custom download procedure for each report and also the application is in production.
I just want to understand(confirm) if it is a existing bug (3.2) , if there is any patch that will solve this or if there is a setting somewhere that I have missed.
Can you please check with some other query on your 3.2 installation ?
I ran a test on
select rownum
from all_objects where rownum < = 80000Norma report I was able to download all the rows but IR stopped at 65535

Interactive Report Download CSV file Issue (output includes separator BR)

I have a Interactive Report and displaying the column values (multiple values in same ROW) as mentioned below.
SQL Query
select deptno,
       function1(empno) empno
from emp
IR Output

10         AAA,BBB,CCC, ...    // - Row 1
20         XXX,YYY,ZZZ, ...    // - Row 2 Now I want to display each employee in a new Line, so modified the SQL Query
Modified SQL Query
select deptno,
       REPLACE(function1(empno),',','<br>') empno
from emp
New IR Output
Dept       Employee No
10         AAA
           BBB
           CCC
           ...    // - Row 1
20         XXX
           YYY
           ZZZ
            ...    // - Row 2 SO, Interactive Report Out put looks fine and that's the way we want.
But the problem is when I download the Report in CSV or in PDF using the Action Menu -> Download..
I am getting break line B R in the output, and also I have two different output in CSV for two different column. [Logic is same for both the columns.]
CSV output1
Employee No
AAA<br>BBB<br>CCC
XXX<br>YYY<br>ZZZI have other columns also with multiple values...for that column, I am getting the following CSV output

3333<br>So, in CSV for one column, I am getting all the values in same line with the seperator B R (Output1)
for other column, I am getting values in new line with the separator B R. (Output2)
Is there a way to FIX this CSV or PDF output for Interactive Report.
I DON'T WANT THE SEPARATOR BR in CSV and also the values should always be in New Line.
I want to have the following Output in CSV

I updated my SQL query with Chr(10) and added the code in Page HTML header.
Now the CSV & PDF output are fine..getting each individual value in seperate line (no BR tag)
BUT in the Interactive Report Output, I am now getting first 2 values in 1 line, then next value in next line, and so on..

CCCCCCC
DDDDDI have few more issues with CSV & PDF output
1. In PDF is there a way to increase the column width, as for some of the columns, the values are getting truncated.
2. For some of the columns in IR Report, I have user BR tag in Column Heading and this also come in CSV output (column heading with BR tag), is there a way to fix this. In PDF Column headings are fine (no BR tag)
and by the way..what exactly this does.

Doubt on ALV report download to EXCEL

Hi All,
i have written a report with ALV_GRID FM, by default we get the option to download the output to excel. But when we click on the download to excel, it displays the output
in the frist page, but it also opens so many pages like
format, header, pivot,sub1,sub1....etc.
Pls. check the SAP standard report BCALV_TEST_FULLSCREEN, does the same thing when we do download to excel.
How can i avoid opening so many pages in excel?

Automated CVS reports download

Hi...
Some one must have hacked this issue ...
I like to do a automated download of a cvs export file....
I have tried using wget and curl from a linux command line but on luck until now.......
Basicly what I like to get is the incomming mail summary from our M650 box and dynamic update a rrd-tool or mrtg graph on our intranet.
