Strip Tags From Interactive Report Download.

Hi,
Is it possible to strip html tags from a column during a CSV download on a interactive report?
Basically i have a report where one of the columns is as follows
453<font color="red"> | </font>0
but in the download i want to strip out the tags so in the csv the column would show
453 | 0
Any ideas how i can do this using the standard csv download from the drop down menu?

    I have interactive reports where the column link on a specific column has to be dynamic, that means, it cannot be hard coded in the column link attributes. The following is an example of one such report query:

    The column attribute of the "Object Name" column has "Display Type" set to "Standard Report Column". That works perfectly fine in the UI of the report. However, if I download the IR data (in any format) from the Actions -> Download menu, the object name column values are downloaded with the HTML characters as:
    < href="f?p=15548:183:6072319179284::::P183_OBJECT_ID:255245470513999672860510787772603748464">JP010000</>where JP010000 is the object name.
    Is there a way I can strip the HTML from the column values in the downloaded files?
    I am using Apex 4.1.

    You can define the link in the query, make it hidden, use the value as column link URL. So, your query will look like the following:
    d.object_name,
    case when d.object_type_description ='Business Service' then

    when d.object_type_description = 'Real Time Event' then
        'f?p='||:app_id||':162:'||:app_session||'::::P162_OBJECT_ID:'||d.id
    else
       null
    end linkChange the display type of LINK column to Hidden. In column link, enter #OBJECT_NAME# as Link Text. Select URL as Target. Enter #LINK# as URL value. In APEX 4.2, you can do this in easier way by defining HTML Column Expression.

  • Download data from interactive report

    Hi all. I'm on apex 3.1.1.00.09.
    I have this problem: when I download data from interactive report I can download only in CSV and PDF. If I try to download into pdf it creates a file of only 1 KB.
    I would know if I must configure my apex in order to download correctly in pdf and if I must configure it in order to download in doc and xls format.

    What i mean is packing of the attachment, finding out the size of pdf file and doc type as PDF.

  • Error opening PDF downloaded from Interactive Report

    hi -- I'm getting an error opening a PDF file downloaded from an interactive report.
    I've seen on the forum that this could be related to the size of the file, but I've tried
    this out on 10-row results (1k files) and it's still an issue.
    I save the file to my file system. If I try to open it in Adobe Reader, I get:
    File does not begin with '%PDF-'
    and
    Adobe Reader could not open <filename>.pdf because it is either not a supported
    file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email
    attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
    If I try to open in Internet Explorer, I get:
    File does not begin with '%PDF-'
    Other users are having the same problem. Download to csv and open in Excel works fine.
    Do I need to have special print attributes for this? I didn't think so... I'm just using the defaults
    (response header = report settings, content disposition = attachment).
    Ideas?

    I'm having the same problem that was described above, and my site does have BI Publisher installed, and it does successfully produce readable pdfs for many reports.
    But there are other reports, even reports produced using the Apex Wizard and all defaults, that just keep producing the same Adobe Reader error reported above, ie

    Your CSV-File use "comma" as separator. But Excel think, that CSV-File separator is "semicolon".
    Try to set "CSV Separator"=";" in section "Report Attributes" - "Download".

    Steps of pdf Printing of Report from FOP:
    1) Download and unzip the following needed files in D:\Apex_fop directory.
    2) Open your command prompt .
    Change the directory to D:\Apex_fop\cocoon-2.1.11.
    Set the Java_Home environment variable as: set JAVA_HOME= C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_21
    then type build war
    3) After getting the prompt back as D:>Apex_fop>cocoon-2.1.11>
    Copy coocon.war file from the folder D:\Apex_fop\cocoon-2.1.11\build\cocoon.
    Paste this file into webapps subdirectory in main tomcat directory having path as D:\APEX_FOP\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps.....place it in the top
    level of webapps directory.
    4) Now just startup tomcat as D:>APEX_FOP>apache-tomcat-6.0.26>bin>startup.bat
    The cocoon.war file will automatically uncompressed as directory.
    5) To change the port of apache tomcat , edit apache-tomcat-6.0.26\conf\server.xml & change port attribute of Connector element from 8080 to 8181.
    Just check whether Tomcat is running or not as http://localhost:8181/
    & to check cocoon type http://localhost:8181/cocoon/
    6) Now copy fop_post directory & paste it undes new cocoon directory in webapps having path as D:\APEX_FOP\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps
    \cocoon.
    7) Now you need to do some apex settings as follows:
    In APEX, just log in as ADMIN into apex/apex_admin and went to Instance Settings and did the following:
    - Print Serverr: Standard Support
    - Print Server Protocol: HTTP
    - Print Server Host Address:localhost
    - Print Server Port: 8181
    - Print Server Script: /cocoon/fop_post
    In your APEX application, in the Regions section, Click on the Print link next to your report and do the following settings:
    - Enable Report Printing: Yes
    - Link Label: Print
    - Response Header: Report Settings
    - View File As: Attachment
    - Output Format: PDF
    - Report Layout: Default Report Layout
    - Print URL: f?p=&APP_ID.:1:&SESSION.:FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R1063230002781575
    8) Open up the Report Page and click Print , You will get the pdf report.

    1 particular Interactive Report in our application produces the following error message in the CSV file, if we attempt to download the report: -
    ORA-20876: Stop APEX Engine
    All other reports work OK, there is another thread here with the same issue, but no resolution was posted: APEX 4.1 ORA-20876: Stop APEX Engine
    Has anyone else come across this issue?
    Apex version is 4.1.0.00.32

    Hi,
    what happens if you take the query from IR report and create a new classic report?
    On this report enable csv export and then try the export.
    Maybe that (format) data are causing export to fail.
    Try to export just one row in your IR report (and classic report), so that you add where rownum < 2.

  • Download from Interactive Report to csv is not working

    Hi there,
    when I try to create a download form my interactive report I get an empty csv/pdf.
    I just checked with other report pages where the download functionality is working - but the settings seem the same.
    In the interactive report properties I've set the check boxes for csv and pdf and it is also displayed properly then on the report page. But when I click on the download (csv or pdf) just an empty document is opened.
    What settings can I check now - what might be the reason for the error?

    Keerti,
    You're using the "Display Condition" of the Interactive Report Region (IRR) to show the report or not.
    If you have multiple selects just use a PL/SQL expression as in:
    :P1_MULTI_1 IS NOT NULL
       AND :P1_MULTI_2 IS NOT NULLNow, if that works for you lets take things a little further... You don't need the second submit button all the time (I'd get rid of it entirely but you seem to really want to hide the region until a selection is made). I did the following:
    1. Updated the display condition of the report to use a PL/SQL expression.
    2. Set the display condition of the submit button to the opposite of the IRR.
    3. Added the item name of the select to the interactive report attributes > Advanced Attributes > Page Items to Submit.
    Now the go button can be used for everything.

  • Htmldb_application.g_excel_format for CSV download from Interactive Report

    I have an Interactive Report which I would like to modify so that it downloads to CSV different fields than it displays (some of the online displayed fields are hypertext links). In the past, dealing with "classic" APEX reports, I did this by defining 2 versions of the relevant fields, one for display and one for download. I then used a PLSQL condition checking htmldb_application.g_excel_format to determine which version of the field to use. I have tried this using the Interactive Report, and it does not work for me. I would greatly appreciate any help in resolving this issue. In both the online and downloaded version of the report, I am seeing the hypertext links.
    I am using APEX 3.1.1, running on Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options.

    But the problem is when I download the Report in CSV or in PDF using the Action Menu -> Download..
    I am getting break line B R in the output, and also I have two different output in CSV for two different column. [Logic is same for both the columns.]

      AAA<br>BBB<br>CCC
      XXX<br>YYY<br>ZZZI have other columns also with multiple values...for that column, I am getting the following CSV output

      3333<br>So, in CSV for one column, I am getting all the values in same line with the seperator B R (Output1)
    for other column, I am getting values in new line with the separator B R. (Output2)
    Is there a way to FIX this CSV or PDF output for Interactive Report.
    I DON'T WANT THE SEPARATOR BR in CSV and also the values should always be in New Line.
    I want to have the following Output in CSV

    I updated my SQL query with Chr(10) and added the code in Page HTML header.
    Now the CSV & PDF output are fine..getting each individual value in seperate line (no BR tag)
    BUT in the Interactive Report Output, I am now getting first 2 values in 1 line, then next value in next line, and so on..
    IR Output
    Employee
      AAA BBB
      CCCCCCC
      DDDDDI have few more issues with CSV & PDF output
    1. In PDF is there a way to increase the column width, as for some of the columns, the values are getting truncated.
    2. For some of the columns in IR Report, I have user BR tag in Column Heading and this also come in CSV output (column heading with BR tag), is there a way to fix this. In PDF Column headings are fine (no BR tag)
    and by the way..what exactly this does.

  • Interactive Report Download and Session State Protection

    I have created an Interactive Report in an APEX application that I have enabled
    session state protection for. The issue I am having is with the "Download"
    functionality of the interactive report to a .csv file.
    The URL created by selecting Download from the drop down (javascript:gReport.controls.download();)
    is built or constructed without a checksum thus causing the error below.
    Error
    No checksum was provided to show processing for a page that
    requires a checksum when one or more request, clear cache, or argument
    values are passed as parameters.
    The anchor tag containing the URL (/f?p=app_id:page:session_id:CSV:) is contained within
    &lt;div id="apexir_CONTROL_PANEL_DROP" class="drop_panel
    clearfix" style=""&gt;
    Running the following: Application Express 3.1.0.00.32 on Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0
    Is there a way to add a checksum to this? OR does anyone have any ideas on how to work around this?

    WORKAROUND:
    1.) Create hidden ITEM on page (I named it P23_PREPARED_CSV_DOWNLOAD_URL).
    Enter the following for the ITEM
    as the SOURCE_TYPE : PL/SQL Function Body
    as the SOURCE: return apex_util.prepare_url('f?p=&APP_ID.:&APP_PAGE_ID.:&APP_SESSION.:CSV:')
    2.) Create BUTTON that executes javascript to open POPUP window with this url.
    a.) Create Button and enter
    &lt;a href="javascript:popupURL('&P23_PREPARED_CSV_DOWNLOAD_URL.')"&gt;Download and Save to CSV file&lt;/a&gt;as the "Text Label/Alt"
    Originally had custom code for javascript POPUP and this is not needed .... just use the APEX javascript function.

  • Send E-mail from Interactive Report, mulitple e-mail addresses

    I am using Apex 4.1. I would like to enter multiple e-mail addresses in the TO field of the download, e-mail section of an interactive report. To be clear when I click on download from the actions menu of an interactive report and choose E-mail, you are presented with the form that has To, CC, BCC, etc. I would like to enter multiple e-mail addresses in the TO text box. I have tried separating them with semi-colons, commas, and even spaces. Whenever I enter two addresses, I do not get any mail. How can I address an interactive report to multiple e-mail addresses.     We misread the documentation and the Actions > Download > Email option does not support multiple email addresses, I have tried it on my workspace and it is throwing ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: 553 5.1.3 which is because of unsupported multiple emails.
    In this doc says that it is allowed to use multiple emails under
    Actions > Subscription (and this is entirely different from above)

  • Error in exporting from Interactive Report to PDF format

    i am using APEX and from an Interactive Report i am trying to export using Download | PDF format. The table and corresponding report has only text fields. Database character set is UTF-8. Up to now i haven't been able to get a PDF file that can be open from Adobe Acrobat Reader. Every file fails opening with message like "Adobe Reader could not open filename.pdf, because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). This happens for every report i have tried up to now. If i export report in CSV format all are ok.
    Is there a known bug with PDF download of APEX?

    FOP & Cocoon are free (just need to install the software and configure) Bi Publisher I believe works only for Standard Reports and no Interactive reports at this time.. If you have the $$ BI Publisher is worth the investment!!
    Also, it is rumored that APEX 4.0 will have the PDF generation built in as apposed to the current model where you need to bolt something on..

    I read in another post that there may be plans to make it so that PDFs downloaded from an Interactive Report will include the formatting in the report. Is this true? If so, will it work with the Apache FOP?

    First I went under report attributes on Interactive reports under download
    Download formats:
    CSV and PDF
    I checked both. CSV format is fine. PDF format is corrupt.
    Next I then went in using the below:

    It tells me I don't have a print server defined. I am trying to get the INLINE method to work.
    I see in the ADMIN there is a print server configuration section though it is not totally clear as I would think that you would get the default print configuration as you would with any other PDF docuement.
