Report Formating: defaluted display settings of scaling factors.
Hi,
I have an issue with scaling factors for a query. I have set scaling factor 1,000,000 for amount which is displaying in wrong portion of the format which is visible in the coloums but it should be defaulted to rows.
Table below will explain issue clearly
Desired display
Amount Variance
1,000,000 1,000,000
Curr Asts (323) 4 .5%
Derivatives 444 13 .4%
Curr Liabils 513 2 .2%
Current display is
Amount Variance
Curr Assets 1,000,000 (323) 4 .5%
Derivatives 1,000,000 444 13 .4%
Curr Liabils 1,000,000 513 2 .2%
I want the format to be as in the first case. Any suggestions and how to achieve the required display.
Thanks in Advance. Please throw some light.

Hi Volker,
go back to your query, and create a calculated KF with NODIM(key figure) - that will remove the currency from your report. The scaling factors are to show the factor of 10 that you are using scaling (for example thousands). There is no actual way to do this in the report designer.

COPA report display settings.....
Hi All,
In a COPA report / form the display settings are configured to show in 1000's
Example
Sales revenue : 586,000
In Report
Sales revenue in 1000's
586
Now i need to take this feature off , but i am not able to figure out how this was configured
No formula used, number format is in undefined stage.
Any help appreciated.
Regards,
ReddyHi,
You need to change number format for the Form used in Report. For this you can use SAP T Code KE34 and then go to change form. Place the cursor on Row Say Sales Value and then Change the number format Factor to Not Defined.
Please try this. hope this should work.

Can you force through a report to display Scaling Factor
If the person who has built a query has not selected to show the Scaling Factor (within the properties of the query) Is there any way (through table interfaces or through the web template) to change this on a temporary basis.
Basically we have hundreds of reports and some have SF set to show and some don't we have built a button to set the scaling factor to various levels but the level of the scaling factor will only show on those querys which have the correct property setting.
Cheers
Shep.Hi Neal,
yes you can. Either add it via URL or change the DP-Tag in your template:
<param name="SHOW_SCALING_FACTORS" value="X"/>
DATA_PROVIDER: DATAPROVIDER_1
</object>

Scaling factor problem in SAP Report Painter
Hello,
I am designing reports using various scaling factors for column representation.
The Scaling factor of 10 million is not working. It is observed that the scaling factor is working fine till 1 million i.e. 1,000,000.
If the scaling factor is increased to 10 million (or above) i.e. 10,000,000 still the figures are scaled at 1 million only.
Please let me know if any other settings have to be made to make this work as it is required in our reports to show figures in 10 million / 1 crore format. Attach below are the steps of a sample report to clarify the issue. Thanks.
Details:
Transaction: GRR2
Report name: ZFRPT5 (Fixed Assets note)
Report Group: ZB05
Path for setting the Scaling factor in the Report:
Formatting => Columns=>Numeric format=>Scaling factor.
Selection parameter (on execution): Fiscal year
Have tried with many options. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.Hi,
plese chek the given details .here i am getting 1 million formate
formate group "0"
coloumn formate
coluoumn width - 17'
Right margin - '0'
Numerical formate
scaling factor - '1'
Decimial placesses - ' 0.00'.
these are the settings for scaling formate. you will get 1 millions as per this settings

BEx Analyzer report "New Formula", "Scaling Factor" property not working
Hi Experts,
I have created a New Formula(Ex:- Dispatches * 2) in BEx Analyzer report. The result of the "New Formula" is 2000. When I maintain Scaling Factor as "1000" to the New Formula properties, the result should be 2 but here 2000 is coming again.
When I maintain this property to the existing keyfigure in Analyzer report, it is working fine.
Please help me in this whether Scaling Factor can be applied to the New Formula or not in BEx Analyzer report. If it works, what changes we have to make to the New formula.
SAPKW73010 is applied already to SAP BW-730
Please see the attachment.Sree,
Is the variable ABC the new one that you've created with Scaling factor setting given? The message you get on doing a syntax check on the query indicates that settings are ignored for use beyond the query.
And if this is the case, this is a known issue.
However such settings will work on existing keyfigures as it is in your case.
What you can hence do for this new variable is that if you are developing reports on top of this bex query, you can make the scaling factor setting at the report level.
Let me know if this works for you.

Remove scaling factor from key figure - still shows in Report !
Hi all,
A key figure we use somehow had its scaling factor set to 100.
This was accidental, so I have changed the key figure to have no scaling factor and then activated it.
The query that uses this key figure still sees it as having the 100 scaling factor however. While this is the case, I cannot set it to no scaling factor as needed.
I have tried adding this key figure to a new report and it still comes in with the incorrect scaling factor setting.
So far I have tried,
Changed the scaling factor on the key figure to none and activated.
Regenerated the query through rsrt
Removing the key figure from the query and then readding as well as adding the key figure to a entirely new report. Incorrect scaling setting still comes through in both cases.
Checked table RSDIKYFPRO and RSDKYF - both of which have no scaling as their settings for this key figure.
I know that I could created a restricted key figure in the query from the original and set the scaling factor to none to get around the problem, however I would like the query to see the settings in the key figure.
Can anyone suggest how I can resolve this ?
Many thanks,
BlairWas there ever a solution to this problem? I, too, have noticed the same issue. The key figure properties (in my case, # of decimal places) is not inherited in the query, and the only solution was to change the kf properties directly in the query, which I shouldn't have to do. The selection of decimal places "from key figure (0)" does not work; I have to override this and select "0". Anyone seen any notes or anything to fix this?
Thanks.

Report is not displayed in xml format.
Hi,
We have a test station based in teststand 4.1 and labview 8.6 code modules.
From one day to another, the xml report is blank, no character is displayed. That in Operator interface or sequence file execution in teststand editor. If the report format is changed to ASCII or HTML, then runs OK.
The first step taken was to reload the directories "Cfg\*.ini" and "teststandmodels\Stylesheets\*.xls" from another test station that runs ok. Not solved.
The second option was to uninstall and reinstall teststand. Also not solved the problem. Then I suposse that this problem is caused for a file or parameter that is not dependent of Teststand, but I don't really know.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Regards,
Bergidum.Thanks for your help Sendia,
Yes, I have already tried Computer mother test and all type of reporting options. Only ASCII and and HTML report formats generate visible results.
Also on-the-fly-reporting is my option by default.
Before format and reinstall the operating system (windows XP) and reinstall the NI package, I would like to know the origin of the malfunction because there are other five test stations working properly, but if the same problem appears in a new station, then to know the solution.
Thanks for your attention,

Hello All,
Need solution for my issue in reporting,
This is my Report format
Date A/c number Kf1 Kf2 Kf3
01.06.07 123 10 20 0
234 20 30 30
456 50 0 25
789 0 25 0
Result 80 75 55
01.07.07 124 10 0 10
134 30 30 30
457 40 0 0
788 0 25 10
Result 80 55 50
Now my requirement is to display Count in the result row as
Date A/c number Kf1 Kf2 Kf3
01.06.07 123 10 20 0
234 20 30 30
456 50 0 25
789 0 25 0
Result 3 3 2
01.07.07 124 10 0 10
134 30 30 30
457 40 0 0
788 0 25 10
Result 3 2 3
and to be more precise this is my requirement
Date Kf1 Kf2 Kf3
01.06.07 3 3 2
01.07.07 3 2 3
I made key figure Calculate Result as Count <> 0 and Calculate single value as Supress Result for each key Figure and A/c Number No display I got result like this showing all data as blank, however the rows will exist.
Date Kf1 Kf2 Kf3
01.06.07
3 3 2
01.07.07
3 2 3
But I need my result should be like this
Date Kf1 Kf2 Kf3
01.06.07 3 3 2
01.07.07 3 2 3
How can I Acheive this either by work Book Or by Query ,
Please help me
Thanks for all ur support in advance
Sai.Hello Boujema,
I Created formula variable replacement path in the same way you mentioned but this is irrespective to KF giving the Characteristic Account Number count...
Hello All,
please go through my requirement
this is my report
Date AC no Kf1 Kf2
01.06.07 XXX 10 12
yyy 15 10
zzz 5 0
result 30 22
If I remove Ac no from this it gives me a result as summation
Date Kf1 Kf2
01.06.07 30 22
In the same way the KF should give me count of the accounts
Date Kf1 Kf2
01.06.07 3 2
But I am getting now as If I mention Count<> 0 in KF properties
Date Kf1 Kf2
01.06.07 1 1
If I place Account Number in report which I dont want to Then i will get count
Date AC no Kf1 Kf2
01.06.07 XXX 10 12
yyy 15 10
zzz 5 0
Result 3 2
Hope you understand my requirement and come up with any solution.
Thanks for your help,

Display scaling factor in column head

I use the scaling factor 1.000 in the keyf. properties and the "Display scaling factor for key figures"-klick in the gen. properties. In the column head now appears x1.000 EUR. Is there any (easy ) way to display e.g. "TEUR" instead of "x1.000 EUR"?
many thanks in advance

Modify scaling factor of a measure in an OLAP grid
Hi,
I create an OLAP grid based on a SAP BW Cube and I want to modify the scaling factor in the measure field used in the grid, (i.e. 34.000.000 -> 34).
I try to modify the scale using the Format Editor on the field but I can´t find a way to do it, I also try to use a formula but I can´t include it on the OLAP grid
How can I solve this?
Thanks!I have solved this problem (or a similar one) on a per-cell basis using display string formatting in my Crystal Report. To access this formula editor, right click on a field, select Format Field, select the Common tab, and then click on the formula editor button for the Display String line.
Simple example
Scale a value by a factor of 1000 with 1 decimal place displayed
ToText(CurrentFieldValue/1000, 1)
Please note that this discards your other formatting on the values so you may have to code the simpler things like your choice of negation symbols or zero display. Here's the more advanced version that I am using for my report:
Advanced example
Scale by a factor of 1000, display negative values using parenthesis instead of a minus symbol, and display zeroes as a minus symbol
if CurrentFieldValue < 0
then "(" + ToText(abs(CurrentFieldValue/1000), 1) + ")"
else if CurrentFieldValue = 0
then "-"
else ToText(CurrentFieldValue/1000, 1)
Additional note
You can of course use the format painter or multiple selection of fields to apply this formula to more than one field at once. -

WAD: function to change scaling factors
Hi,
in the web application designer, i would like to insert a button that changes the scaling factors of certain key figures in the report.
i cannot find a function in the WAD to influence the scaling factor of a key figure.
any help?
thx!Hi,
Use the following link to find the required functions to set the scaling factors
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem60ep1/helpdata/en/e3/e60138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
The function used is <b>SCALING_FACTOR</b> you have values next to it to display how u like.
You can define all the properties of a Query and Infoobject using the commands.
Cheers.

Hi,
I am facing scaling issue in BI queries.
In 3.5 when i run a query say $(dollar) symbol appearing in each and every cell ,But in BI it is not appearing as in 3.5 rather $(dollar) symbol is appearing on the Top of each and every column.Plz provide me Ur inputs to solve this.
Thanks,
SUbhashHi Subhash,
It looks like the "display scaling factor" option is switched on.
There are two possible settings for this.
1. The most common setting is in query. Check in Query Designer -> query properties.
2. If you are running the query in web, the default web template may have the "display scaling factor" option switched on and also causes this.
Go to transaction RSCUSTV27 to see whether "Ad Hoc Analysis" has a setting. This is the default template that gets used.
If it's empty, then 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN is used.
Change the parameter SCALING_FACTORS_VISIBLE in the default template to OFF to get the result you want.

Display settings in System Preferences acting up
I'm having trouble with my Display settings under System Preferences. I am not using an external monitor. My display seems to be working fine, but when I open Display settings to change resolution and colour, weird stuff happens. Basically, I cannot use this preference pane at all.
My display is 1920x1200, but when I open the Display settings, I get two windows, one telling me that "I am about to change [something something], some applications cannot display information correctly if the screen has less than 800x600 pixels", and the other one, the usual main window, telling me that my resolution is now 640x480 (it isn't).
If I hit OK in the extra window that pops up, my resolution changes to 640x480 or something similar, and I am unable to change back unless I reboot. Also, in the main Display settings window, it says <<< DO NOT LOCALIZE >>> under the list of available resolutions, as well as << do not localize >> in the box where I can change refresh rate. None of the buttons seem to be working.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on here? This was working just fine when I received my new MacBook Pro a few days ago, but now it's not. I've been repairing disk permissions and rebooting, etc.
I have been installing the trial version of Adobe CS5, but had massive problems with this installation (as a lot of people are reporting with CS5 and Snow Leopard...) and uninstalled them again, cleaning out Adobe preference files. Could I have deleted some other important files by accident in this process?Quit System Preferences, then delete these files or folders.
Users/yourname/Library/Preferences /com.apple.systempreferences.plist
Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/By Host/com.apple.systempreferences.xxxxx.plist and com.apple.PrefPane.Network.xxxxx.plist (the X's will be numbers)
Also, Users/Home/Library/Caches
Now relaunch System Preferences. Let us know.
