  • Automatcially Execute Report (with input parametrs) and Save to Excel/PDF

    I have an SSIS package that does this in SQL 2008 R2 by means of a Script Task that uses ReportExecution2005. I cannot get this to work in SQL2012. It the script builds without error but reports a compile error when I close the Script Task, with the dreaded
    red X in the Control Flow window.
    It has occurred to me that perhaps I can do the same thing using SSRS Web Service, supplying the necessary information in the URL. I know how to supply parameter values and tell it to render in Excel (or PDF) format but user action is still required to
    save the file. Is there a way to provide an output file name in the URL so that the file is automatically saved without even displaying the report?
    I an also looking at PowerShell/ReportExcution2005 as an option and will raised separate post on that subject.
    R Campbell

    Hi Dick Campbell,
    According to your description, you want to export report to Excel/PDF from the a web site and save it without displaying the report, if that is the case, we can use ReportExcution2005.asmx as the report rendering web service.
    SQL Server Reporting Services is essentially implemented as a set of Web services, commonly referred to as SOAP API. In order to use the endpoints from Visual Studio, please refer to the following steps:
    Add Web reference to the endpoints.
    Then we need to initialize the report by calling the LoadReport() method.
    If the report contains parameters, we need to declare and populate an array of ParameterValue objects. Once the parameters are set up, we can call the SetExecutionParameters() method and pass them in rsExec.SetExecutionParameters(executionParams, "en-us").
    Call the Render() method. This method renders the report and returns it as a byte array that we can save into a file.
    The following code is for your reference:

    rsExec.Url = "http://servername/ReportServer/reportexecution2005.asmx";
    string historyID = null;
    string reportPath = "/multi-value parameter/sub";
    rsExec.LoadReport(reportPath, historyID);
    ReportExecution2005.ParameterValue[] executionParams;
    executionParams = new ReportExecution2005.ParameterValue[1];
    executionParams[0] = new ReportExecution2005.ParameterValue();
    executionParams[0].Name = "group";
    executionParams[0].Value = "Europe";
    new ReportExecution2005.ParameterValue();
    rsExec.SetExecutionParameters(executionParams, "en-us");
    string deviceInfo = null;

    string encoding;
    string mimeType;
    ReportExecution2005.Warning[] warnings = null;
    string[] streamIDs = null;
    string format = "Excel";
    Byte[] results = rsExec.Render(format, deviceInfo, out extension, out mimeType, out encoding, out warnings, out streamIDs);
    FileStream stream = File.OpenWrite("c:\\Users\\Reports\\report.xlsx");
    stream.Write(results, 0, results.Length);

    Hi Hungh,
    If your are using BPC 10 with EPM add in client, you can use the function:

  • Creation of error log  on input data  and stat report

    I am doing call transaction on <b>C202</b> transaction.my client asked me before uploading the file he needs some validations on input file and he is asking me to create  a log for all the validations.i have to place error lof for all the input data.
    •An error log will record all errors occurring during upload. For each error the list should
    contain the data (line) going in error and an error text in a subsequent column (subsequent to data). The change number used to perform  the upload will be stated in the header of the error list.A txt-file containing the error log will get the same name as the input file, but with an ending –err.xls.
    Therefore no Batch-Input-Session is needed.
    • After execution of the batch input program, the following analysis regarding execution will be shown:
    o Number of records in input file (including title, first line)
    o Number of records successfully updated
    o Number of records in error
    Example:
    Number of records in input file (incl. first line) 4
    Number of records successfully updated:   3
    Number of records in error:      0
    How to do this according to client  requirements.can u help me to get a statastical way to represent errors.  Send me some smpale code for number of errors and no records gets success and no of failed.

  • Display Report Level Filter value and Input Controls Value

    Hi,
    Please let me know how to display Report Level Filter value and Input COntrol values in the report.
    I have 2 tabs in the WebI Report. The first tab has the summary details about the other tabs like reprot desc, prompt values, reprot filter values,etc.
    In the 2nd tab I have the actual report which has input controls defined, prompt values and global level report filters.
    Can anyone please tell me how to display the Report level filter values and the Input Control values in the first tab report.
    For ex: Tab 2 has a Report level filter: Region = NA
    I need to display in Tab 1 in as Region: NA
    I used the function ReportFilterSummary but that is giving me other details, I want only the object name and the value.
    Also how to dispaly the Input Control values in the tab 1.
    Please let me know if you have any suggestions for this issue.
    Thanks

    did you try
    =ReportFilter([Year])
    if you are making report filter over the year, it will return the value of the filter
    by the way, the filter should be applied over all the report not to a specific block to be able to get the correct value
    the Input control also considered as report filter, only if you're applying them on the level of the report, if you applying an input contron over a specific block or chart, you will not get the values for ReportFilter
    good luck

  • Ad Hoc Query - reporting on both PA and OM data in same query.

    Is it really not possible to report on both PA and OM in the same query?  Does the two different infosets prevent you from doing this?
    As a workaround I can run two separate queries and just join the data using Excel.  However - I'm having some trouble using the OM infoset.  I have a list of job ID's and I'm trying to report on the job short text and the "duty code" which is a custom OM object.  Is there a way to add this custom object to the infoset?
    Also, I'm finding it difficult to report on the relationships as "Object" is always listed as an output ONLY.  Is there a way to make it available as an input?

    If you are using logical database PNP, then you can try to add infotype and check the option 'Infotype of related objects' .
    This will allow you various HRP tables to add to your query by the relationship.
    If you check responsiblity you can use relationship B007 and selecting 1000 would give you the short text and long text of the ID.
    This is a very good option available for PNP database.

  • Input Tax and Output Tax calculating wrong figures

    Hi,
    I have created Input Tax and Output Tax codes in SAP.
    Input Tax- 3%
    Output Tax- 4%
    All the configuration is done as required. But when I am posting the Purchase and Sales Invoice, the tax amount is not calculating correctly.
    For example:
    Input Tax Calculation should be:
    Vendor A/C.............. Cr 30000-
    Expense A/C............ Dr 29100
    Input Tax A/C............ Dr 900 (@3% on 30000)
    Input Tax Calculation in SAP:
    Vendor A/C.............. Cr 30000-
    Expense A/C............ Dr 29126.21
    Input Tax A/C............ Dr 873.79 (@3% on 30000)
    The same is happening to Output Tax transactions.
    Please advice.

    My understanding about the Input Tax and Output Tax was wrong. In the issue reported
    Input Tax Calculation should be:
    Vendor A/C.............. Cr 30000-
    Expense A/C............ Dr 29100
    Input Tax A/C............ Dr 900 (@3% on 30000)---my understanding was wrong.
    Input Tax 3% should be charged on Expense amount, in this case Rs 30000. But because in the editing option calculate tax on net amount option was not selected, hence SAP was giving the below entry, which is correct as well.
    Vendor A/C.............. Cr 30000-
    Expense A/C............ Dr 29126.21
    Input Tax A/C............ Dr 873.79 (@3% on 29126.21) which is correct.
    Hence, the Vendor amount should be Expense + Input Tax= 30000 * 3%=900 + 30000 (expense) = 30900.
    Correct Entry should be:
    Vendor A/C...............Cr 30900
    Expense A/C............Dr 30000
    Input Tax A/C............Dr 900
    Resolved. Pankaj has given the correct answer.

  • Report showing overdelivery material and its value.

    A report is required showing the material received by giving overdelivery/unlimited tolerance.  It should give the details of the material,quantity excess received, excess quantity value.
    How to get it.
    Pl reply.
    T.SRINIVAS

    Hello Friend
    Try Report with Tcode ME2M and in input screen dont forget to choose "ALLES" in Scope of list.
    Else If your corporate policy is the same regardless of vendor /
    material combination, then you can use the ME2N transaction. It
    has a dynamic selections button that allows you to search on
    practically any PO field. The Delivery tolerances fields are
    contained on the PO item folder of the dynamic selections.
    Additionally, you can enter a document date restriction to limit
    the results. I also recommend entering "WE101" - "OPen Goods
    Receipt" as a Selection parameter to keep the list to include
    open, GR relevant PO Items.
    If the Delivery tolerances vary by Material vendor and you can
    not create variants in the ME2N transaction to capture the
    relevant scenarios, then you may have to write a SAP query to
    compare the PO Item to the Purchasing Information REcord. If
    this is the case, I recommend using Infoset MEPOLDB for the
    Purchase ORder information, and table EINE for the Delivery
    tolerance information of the PIR.

  • Help with report that shows Year and Last Year

    Hello!
    I want to view in a report some KPIs (Rows) and Years(Columns) but I want a specific report with a prompt, I mind, at top of my dashboard there is a Year prompt that it contains (2001, 2002, 2003….,2010) and I want to see in a report when I chose in prompt 2008 for example that my report shows me 2008 Year and Last Year (2007) and another column that indicate Diference between these years. Is that possible? Can u explain me the process to get it?
    Thank you very much!

    If you get access, create a duplicate of the Measure you wish to use in the Business Model.
    Once you have a duplicate rename to say $ Revenue Year Ago and then from the properties of the Measure, General click on Use existing logical columns as the source.
    Then select function>Time Series> Ago
    Ago has 3 inputs, select the column you want to base the measure on, the TIME SERIES Dimensions for year, and then 1 for 1 year ago.
    So your formula will look something like:
    Ago("Human Resources"."Fact - Absence"."# Days" , "Human Resources"."Time"."Year" , 1)
    Save this and copy into your Presentation layer available for use.
    Hope this helps

  • Difference between deploying oracle report in RDF format and REP format

    Hi All,
    Good Day!!!
    We are frequently encountering report failures in our production environment with the error message "REP-1247: There exist uncompiled program unit(s)"
    But the report executes successfully in the next try and the issue is intermittant. In production the reports are deployed in RDF format.
    So in our test environment we tried of deploying the reports in REP foramat and we cant find any errors.
    Is there Difference in deploying oracle report in RDF format and REP format?
    Is there any diffence in execution?
    Your inputs will be much appreciated!!!
    Thanks in Advance,
    JK

    Hi,
    REP is to RDF what FMX is to FMB, MMX is to MMB, etc.
    Only difference here is that if you deploy RDF, not REP, then the RDF is compiled at runtime by Reports Engine and then executed. In other words, if REP is deployed then it is straightway execute.
    That should explain all your observations.
    Cheers.
    PS: Please post Oracle Report queries on {forum:id=84} forum.

  • VISA - unable to queue operation & device reported an input protocol error.

    To summarise I have two main questions:
    How can I clear the VISA operation queue and what causes an input protocol error during transfer?
    I am using a Tektronix AFG3022B Function Generator with latest firmware connected via USB and LabVIEW 2013 SP1 patch 2 (13.0.1f2) 32bit with NI-VISA 5.4.1.
    If I have a small timeout, say 100ms, and perform a save operation and op complete query on the device (*SAV 1;OPC?), then do up to 10 VISA reads; the first few reads time out (as expected), but then I frequently get the following error:
    -1073807305 (0xBFFF0037) VI_ERROR_INP_PROT_VIOL. "Device reported an input protocol error during transfer."
    Once this occurs, the whole VISA session seems to become unstable and lots of the read operations fail returing this error code and not the timeout error (0xBFFF0015 (VI_ERROR_TMO)).
    This only seems to happen when I do save/recall operations (either internal or to a mass storage device connected to the instrument), all other commands/queries timeout for the first few reads (as expected) then return the value. Do you think this is probably down to poor instrument firmware/hardware? Or am I using the VISA incorrectly? I would have thought that attempting to read VISA data to soon should only generate a timeout error and not a protocol error.
    Reason for small timeouts:
    Instead of setting the timeout to 4 seconds and having no way of cancelling the read operation I set the timeout to 100ms and run a for loop up to 40 times ignoring timout errors unless it's the last loop iteration. This means I can the operation within ~100ms.
    What causes the VISA protocol error? I can't find much information on it.
    Once the protocol error occurs and I keep repeating the *SAV command, I get the following error:
    -1073807303 (0xBFFF0039) VI_ERROR_IN_PROGRESS. "Unable to queue the asynchronous operation because there is already an operation in progress."
    Once this error occurs, how can I force a clear on the VISA queue without unplugging/power cycling the instrument?
    Some NI I/O trace captures attached to show what happens and test VI.

    I thought I would try to duplicate your problems, but I only have a Tektronix TDS Scope that has USB.
    I am a big fan of using *OCP? to sync instruments control and your problem is of interest to me
    This very simple write/read returns the *OPC '1' return char consistently between 175-185 ms. No problem
    Trying your short timeout with a loop, I do not get what I or you expected.
    If I run this with an adequate timeout (something well longer than the needed 185 ms) it returns in between 175-185 ms with one time through the for loop. As expected. No problem.
    BUT! If I try setting the timeout to something below the needed 175 ms like your 100ms...
    Sometimes it works but it takes over 2000 ms to return but only goes though the for loop twice.
    But sometime it does not work at all, taking well over 10 sec to exit out of the for loop with a timeout error.
    I never see the queue error that you are seeing
    How long does it take to do a simple *SAV
    I don’t think the queue error is coming from the instrument. You would have to send the instruments the SYSTEM:ERROR? Request before the instrument would report any of the instruments errors.
    Be sure to set your Termination Char setting. I prefer to turn it off for the Writes so I control when to send it. But turn it on for the Reads
    Also I noticed from your trace files that you use the *OPC? after a *IDN?. This is not needed as you will know the *IDN? is complete when your received the string back. In fact my Tektronix scope did not like it if I sent it "*IDN?;*OPC?\n". It would not send me anything back, not even the IDN.
    Is the SAV command on your instrument so long that you need to be able to break out of the loop?
