Report Region Layout help

i am trying to create a page with 4 regions
i need something link below
region 1,2 and 3 should be on top ( 1 row 3 columns)
Region 4 should be on 2nd row ( 4 will be below)
I have attached word doc to below link.

looks like we can only say what column number but seems the layout wont work like we need

Sorry, you can't attach files to the forum -- as far as I know.
Yes, you can order regions. I begin by supposing you've sequence numbered them 10, 20, 30 , 40. Then edit each region 2 and 3, and under Grid Layout, choose for "Start New Grid" - No and for "Start New Row" - No. At that point the GUI should update to have "Column" - Automatic" and "New Column" - Yes on the next line. Set "Column" to 2 for region 2 and to 3 for region 3. For Region 4, leave "Start New Grid" - No and for "Start New Row" - Yes. That should place region 4 under 1. Try that.
Then you may need a refinement so that region 4 spans across the bottom of region 1,2,3 and has the desired width.

    I created an interactive report, but it can have many records (close to 1000), and my customer needs to print it.

    when displaying, the report shows as

    I have enough room on the page to get it to go horizontally

    I'm seeing this is not really possible in interactive reports...
    I am ok doing this in standard reports, but I need the condition.
    basically 2 Rows Across in each row. this will make my report look nicer... I really don't want to write an HTML script to output this as it is very slow.
    Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

  • Need help Updating Records in a Report Region

    We have created some javascript to check a drop down used in a report region.
    This is the way the report is supposed to work:
    The first time the user comes to this screen he will go down the list and select a value of '1' or '2' for col2.
    When col2 drop down has a value of 1 then we want to disable col3 and col4.
    Then the user will click on the Submit button.
    When he clicks on the Submit button then we want to set col4 to have a value of sysdate in the database table for any record where col2 had a value of 1.
    The next time the user comes to this screen he will select values for col3 and col4 of the records that col2 had a value of 2 (meaning col3 and col4 are enabled)
    This works fine if there is only one record in the report region.
    The problem is when we have more than one record.
    for example:
    Say we have two records...
    for record1 the user selects '1' for col2 and for record2 the user selects '2' for col2.
    When the user clicks on the Submit button col3 and col4 get disabled and col4 gets set to sysdate for record1, while col3 and col4 remain available but empty (because the user has not made a selection for these columns at this point) for record2.
    When the user comes back to this screen he now selects a value for col3 and picks a date for col4 for record2. When he clicks on the Submit button the value for col3 and the date entered in col4 for record2 should get updated in the database table and it is but the col3 value and the col4 date is being inverted with record1's data for some reason.
    Can you please tell me how to fix this?
    This is what the user has selected on the screen:

    After the user clicks on the Submit button this is how the screen displays it back:

    Hi,
    Any disabled items are not submitted with the page - therefore, your f03 and f04 collections would be one value short. This is a browser feature rather than an Apex feature.
    You can get around this by enabling all items before the submit takes place. Have a look at: Re: A better method of handling tabular forms with variable column type? This is for disabling items mainly, but includes an enableItems() javascript function that should help you.

  • Non scrollable headers for multiple report regions on a page. Please help!!

    I am having two report regions on my page and am trying to have the static/non scrollable headers for both the report regions. I followed on of the threads in the forum and was able get the static headers for one region, but am not able to for second region. I put my app on apex :

    Hello Suma,
    The first parameter of the MakeStaticHeader() function is your table id, and it defines the "playground" of the function. If you want to apply static headers to two reports, you need to define two unique IDs, one for each report.
    Change your SKstandard… report template, and define the table ID to be "table_grab1". Duplicate this template, and change the ID to be "table_grab2". Applied the templates to your reports, and use the correlated IDs as parameters to the MakeStaticHeader() function.

  • Pls Help me to Create an Updatable report region

    hi,
    can u pls help in creating an updatable report region. as of now i have 2 regions in a page. 1st region is HTML type where we can select Year,Month&Account parameters and do submit.
    2nd region an updatable report region where the report generates according to the SQL query which includes conditions selected as parameters in where clause. even i have the processes to update the data in this report.
    now the problem is i am able to put only one submit button which is functioning for both parameter selection and as well as updating the data in report fields. so the functionality of the report became a bit tricky which is not user friendly to the client.
    whats happening is: after logging in&select the parameters month=Jan,year=2007,account=ALL
    -> If you would like to update the data for Jan’07, you can enter the value in the field and click on ‘Update’ button
    -> After that, if you would like to see the data for Feb’07, as of now you are not able to select the month from drop down list directly from this page and say ‘Update’. You need to log-out and log-in again and select ‘Feb’ for seeing Feb’07 data.
    -> Rather if you directly select the ‘Feb’ month and say ‘Update’ in the same page, it is updating by the New value you entered for ‘Jan’ ( the same thing happens for all the months what ever you select and click on ‘Update’ in the same page without log-out and log-in)
    -> So, the basic thing you have to do while you update the data is, you need to log-out & log-in for seeing or updating different month’s data after making changes to the present month and click on ‘Update’. You can not see correct data if you select the month directly after making changes to the present month’s data. This will cause automatic updating in the selected month.

    actually i have 2 page processes.
    1 is On Submit-Before Computations and Validations;is to populate
    2 is On Submit-After Computations and Validations;is to update
    both r PL/SQL anonymous blocks.the problem is i couldn't find any triggers like things in process point drop down list.for eg;'when button pressed' or 'when LOV changed' or 'when list changed'(like in forms developer)
    and also i couldn't allocate any processes or functions to button properties in APEX.
    can u pls help in this regard.

  • Layout issue: sql report region and items derived from a different table

    Hi all,
    I have a report region whose source is a sql query. I am trying to display other items in the same region(These I added manually on the page and they come from another table in the schema). It works fine, except the items that I added manually in the region always appear at the top of the items that are derived from the query. I want the other way around if possible, where I want the items from report query to appear first and then the other items to appear below them. Can this be done? If so how?

    on the definition page of your region, set the property "Display Point" to "Page Template Body (1. items below region content).
    I think that's what you are looking for.

  • Controlling Column Width in Report Region

    I have a report region based on a simple select statement. I'd like the table to be the full width of the region and I'd like the columns to be spaced evenly so that they are also the full width of the region. I have figured out how to set the table width via Report Attributes Substitution, but I am unable to set the column width. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to outline report regions

    Hi,
    I have a page with three report regions. Two (with column 1 and 2) on the region 4, and one in region 5 (with column 1).
    The report in region 5 starts 3 or 4 characters earlier on the page then the first report of region 4.
    How to get a correct outline (same starting point for displaying the region) ?

  • Dunning Report Print Layout Issue

    Hi
    I have a problem with the Dunning Report Print layout (Dunning All (system)). In the wizard I select all the Invoices (Which are over due and current) for the BP and sent to printer.
    In the print out all the due dates are mixed with the acctual Due dates.

    I solved the problem. But the issue was when i ran the dunning wizard the layouts messed up. For example if I had a dunning letter with 3 lines (overdue documents). The last line would copy itself 4-6 times (it would show the last document 4-6times so the total lines in the dunning letter would be 7-9 lines). But I solve the issue. Somehow the attention person (which I got from the contact persons (ocrp) and not from the document contact person (oinv) ) did the issue. When i switch it to the oinv the issue was gone.

    Report Painter allows you to create reports using data from SAP application components, which you can adapt to meet your individual requirements.
    Many of your reporting requirements can already be met by using the standard reports provided by various SAP application components. If these SAP standard reports do not meet your reporting needs, Report Painter enables you to define your specific reports quickly and easily.
    When executing a Report Painter report, it is displayed by the system in Report Writer format. You thus have access to the same functions as for Report Writer reports defined in the same way, and can combine Report Painter and Report Writer reports together in a report group.
    Report Painter uses a graphical report structure, which forms the basis for your report definition and displays the rows and columns as they appear in the final report output.
    To facilitate report definition, you can use many of the standard reporting objects provided by SAP (such as libraries, row/column models, and standard layouts) in your own specific reports. When you define a Report Painter report you can use groups (sets). You can also enter characteristic values directly.
    Advantages of Report Painter include:
    Flexible and simple report definition
    Report definition without using sets
    Direct layout control: The rows and columns are displayed in the report definition as they appear in the final report output, making test runs unnecessary.

    Below mentioned is the process for creating reports using Report Painter as a tool.
    Selecting and maintaining a library for your report: As the transfer structure to Report Painter you use a report table, which is defaulted by SAP and can not be maintained. This table contains characteristics, key figures and predefined columns. In a library, you collect the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns from the report table, which you need for your Report Painter reports.
    When you define a Report Painter report, you assign it to a library. Reports assigned to one library can only use the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns selected for that library.
    When you create or maintain a library, the Position field determines the sequence in which the characteristics, key figures or (predefined) key figures appear in the Report Painter selection lists when you define a report. This allows you to position the objects that you use regularly in your reports at the beginning of the selection lists. If you do not make an entry in the Position field, you will not be able to use this object in Report Painter reports.
    You can use either the standard SAP libraries for your reports or define your own.
    (ii) Selecting or maintaining a standard layout for your report: Standard layouts determine report layout features and the format of your report data.If the SAP standard layouts do not meet your reporting requirements, you can create a new  standard layout or change an existing one.
    (iii) Defining row and column models: A model is a one-dimensional, predefined reporting structure that you can insert in either the rows or columns of your report.If you often use the same or similar row or column definitions in your reports, it is recommended that you create row or column models.
    You must define the row and/or column models that you want to include in your report definition before you define the report.
    You can also use the standard column models supplied by SAP.
    (iv) Defining the report: Defining a Report Painter report involves the following steps.
    (a) Define the report columns: You define the report columns using the characteristics, key figures, and predefined columns selected for the library that the report uses. Alternatively, you can use a column model for column definition. Column models are predefined column structures which you insert into your entire column definition, instead of defining each individual column.
    (b) Define the report rows: You define the report rows using the characteristics selected for the library selected for the report.
    Alternatively, you can use a row model for your row definition. Row models serve the same purpose as column models, but are used to define a report row.
    Edit and format the report rows and columns in line with your requirements. (For example, you can hide rows or columns, define the column width or define colors for your report rows).
    (iii)Define general data selection criteria for the selection of your report data: Selection criteria are the characteristics used to select data for the entire report. You cannot enter characteristics as data selection criteria if they are already being used in the report rows or columns.
    (iv) Assigning the report to a report group: Once you have defined a report, you must assign it to a report group. A report group can contain one or more reports from the same library. However, reports that share the same data will select data more quickly and improve processing time.

    In 3.2, where do we set the user interface template for Interactive Reports region?
    No matter what out of the box theme I switch to, the Interactive Reports region shows the same. What and where do I change the template so that alternating rows use two different colors?

    There is no template for Interactive Reports like for a "normal" report. You need to modify the CSS and supply your own for this to happen.

  • Adding a Crystal Report (report or layout) in a specific menu location

    Hi,
    i want to import a CR Report through SDK.
    I found an example in the sdk help center. You can find it searching 'Adding a Crystal Report (report or layout)'.
    It works but going in the Report and layout manager i find it under 'Lost Reports'.
    i cannot find a way to specify the MENU LOCATION just like the Import Wizard allows.
    Can anyone help me?

    I have report region(type=sql query). In that report region i want to add a hyperlink(View all). When user clicks on the hyperlink it should bring them to another page. Can anyone help me in this issue. i am using apex4.0.

    Where can i find button classIn the button template
    Usually(depend's on the theme) redirect buttons template are link tags with some class that styles them like a button. Else you can create such a button template(by copying it from another theme) without any styling
    For example a button template like
    <a #BUTTON_ATTRIBUTES# class="" href="#LINK#">#LABEL#</a>would render the button like a plain link

    I've got a report region (PL/SQL source) which sometimes returns no data, giving a 'No Data Found.' message.
    I couild have sworn there was an option to choose a custom message in the region definition when no data is returned - but I can't see that option. I guess it must have been in another region type.
    Is there some other way of setting the No Data Returned message?
