Report Template Background

Hello all,
Is there a way to change the background color of a report template? I have a CSS box behind the whole report area but I want each report area to have a lighter color behind it so they stand out more.

If you can put a quick example on apex.oracle.com it will be much easier to figure out the css snippet you need.
Look and feel issues / adjustments are usually easier when you/I/we can see them ;)
You can also use Firebug http://www.getfirebug.com/ to inspect the page source and figure it out pretty quickly as well, that's exactly what I will do when you put up th example.

Custom Report Template Issue

Hi,
I have a Custom Report Template, it is a Named Column(Row) Report that I have created. It seems I can get the look and feel I want on a per row basis. But when I try and convert it to be able to loop through for a specific type, like a break on the first column, it gets all messed up. I was wondering if someone might be able to shed some light for me on this I have tried everything

Making a lot of assumptions, I've come up with the kind of HTML structure I'd use when marking up this kind of data. I added a page 2 to your example on apex.oracle.com, showing a basic presentation of this structure alongside the original for comparison, and another styled using the default theme L&F.

</style>The default theme L&F report adds vertical borders to separate columns and column groups (latter may not be fully effective on IE: I'm not wasting my time on quirks mode fixes for that).
The resulting report uses 60% less vertical space, and 87% less HTML code[1] than the original. Usability and accessibility are improved by eliminating nested tables and useless table cells and shim images, increasing the contrast between text and background colours, and using alternating row backgrounds for better visual tracking.
[1] Including whitespace, but neither template is compressed in any way: both are in fully readale format including normal whitespace indentation.

"Busiest Clients" report template on Cisco Prime & Aironet 1242AG

Yesterday I was trying to schedule a "Busiest Clients" report on our Cisco Prime physical appliance (PRIME-NCS-APL-K9, v2.1.0.0.87).
My goal was to monitor the busiest clients on a couple of old Aironet access-points. These APs have been installed in a branch office of our university that rely on 4 Mb/s SHDSL WAN connectivity and, as you might imagine, some saturation occurs when the classrooms are crowded.
Unfortunately, all the reports were empty ... there was only a "No data matches the specified criteria for the report” warning inside.
The Client Statistics task (Administration>Background Tasks) was enabled and I was able to run this report selecting a different floor area ... after a few tries I've discovered that this error occurs only when the old Aironet 1242AG APs are involved. If I select a floor area populated with the newer 1142 and 2602 models, the report template works as intended.
So, is there a way to fill a "Busiest Clients" report with data fetched from our old Aironet 1242AG APs?
Our WLC is a Cisco Wireless Services Module 2 Controller for Cisco Catalyst 6500 (WS-SVC-WISM2-K9).

Kindly try to restart the Dameon manager with the command line of the server
1> net stop crmdmgtd
and then start the daemon manager --> net start crmdmgtd (wait for atleast 20-25 minutes before login back to LMS and also see if any file do exist at location CSCOps\Objects\dmgtd\ready folder).
Get the output of pdshow after waiting for 20 minutes and stdout.log and stderr.log from CSCOpx\MDC\tomcat\logs.

HTML Display without Report Templates

Hi all
I am saving html page (with all data and formats) in a table. On next step I will query this table and will display this column and will disply it on the region. But I dont want to use HTMLDB report templates. Because I want to control the formatting (like color change, background color, fonts). Is there some way to gain control on this ?
Here is my homework. While creating the region, I tried PL/SQL and Reports. Is there some option where I can override everything with my html implementation (which is coming from the table). I tried HTML, but there you cant query the table.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Modifying the Standard Report template

I have a report with 10 columns and 2 of them are wb_id, pa_id. Depending on the search critiria either wb_id or pa_id will be null. I want to highlight the row with some color when I select any row and I am modifying the standard template and
column template condition is 'Use Based on PL/SQL Expression' and it is
NVL(#COL02#,0) = NVL(:GLOBAL_WB_ID,0). But when I run the report it is giving the error that encountered # wherea as expecting.......

I had written a java script to select the current row, and page refreshes when I click

BUT it is giving this error

VO Extension Error in modifying the query of XML Publisher Report Template

I have one requirement related to calling XML Publisher Reports Template from OAF Page.
When clicking on the submit button the XML Publisher template is calling and displaying the data.
Our requirement is to display some more columns in the XML Publisher Template and display the data.
As according to OAF stndards,whenever we need to add new columns for display or SELECT purpose,
we will do the VO Extension. So we modified the query by adding the new additional colums in the standard VO.

CNTL_ERROR while running a report in background mode

Hi,
I am running a report in background on daily basis. I am using cl_gui_custom_container class here and calling the constructor of this class. I am getting a CNTL_ERROR exception at this point. But if i run the same report directly, it is not throwing any exception. The problem is if i schedule it to background. I am not able to sort it out. So please if any body knows, answer this.

I was facing the similar issue in a custom report program. I did apply the logic that you'd mentioned.
I've implemented the code as below.

Report Template href with column value

I have created a Report template and want to have a field that is a href with link to other page passing column value. I'm having trouble passing the column value. If I hard code the value the href code works. If I try to pass #1# or the column name with # surrounding the link doesn't work. Any ideas would be appreciated.
This works:

#REGION_STATIC_ID# does not work in report template for PPR

I was hoping to use the new substitution string #REGION_STATIC_ID# for a PPR report, because when we do Export/Import of the app the Region ID changes and we have to manually change the Pager Header Javascript to get the PPR to work. A real pain.
So I changed the Region template to use #REGION_STATIC_ID# and set the Static id in the region definition - this worked fine. Next, I modified the Report template for PPR to use #REGION_STATIC_ID#, but at runtime this resolves to a blank! I assumed it would pick up the static ID for the region it was in. Is this a bug or am I just not understanding the way it is supposed to work?

#REGION_STATIC_ID# is available in some places in the report template. But the PPR javascript uses the APEX engine created ID get into the fast track report engine so it's not going to work that way.
But you can still do what you want to do what you want to do. Use the #REGION_STATIC_ID# in your region say something like this #REGION_STATIC_ID#_body the use the javascript to get that element and then use that element
along with getElementsByClass(searchClass,node,tag)

to grab the report table and then it's ID which you can then feed into your javascript. It will only be 2-3 more lines of javascript.

It does not matter where the reports are. If you can open them up in the CR designer (crw32.exe) you can open them using any CR SDK.

Report template enhancement? no data found message

I have a layout in which I want to show the excel export link in the same html table as a logo, so that code needs to be placed in the report template, but when no data is found I still want to show the logo and so all my reports have the same html code in the "no data found" field. Whenever I want to change this I have to change my template as well as all of my reports.
Wouldn't it be a nice idea to provide for a "no data found" message in the report template instead of the report itself? I can imagine you would want to show the same "no data found" message anyway for all reports so the template would be a logical place to put this.

There are known issues with Interactive Reports referencing :REQUEST value, probably due to some inner logic that also handles it simultaneously - potentially causing malfunction or deadlocks.
One workaround I've learned is to create a computation to assign :REQUEST to a temporary item (a PXX_REQUEST, for instance) and reference it in the query, instead of :REQUEST. This has worked fine for me in my experience.
