Customised Report Template - URL Issue
Hi,
I have customized report template to change the look and feel of the report table. Following are css class definitions and row templates:
.c1 {border:1px solid black; background-color:#; text-align:center; padding:2px;}
.c2 {border:1px solid black; background-color:#; text-align:center; padding:2px;}
<tr>
<td class="c1">#1#</td>
<td class="c2">Click Here</td>
</tr>
I want the value in the table to be URLs which will point to pages in the same application (when '#1#' or 'Click Here' is clicked.) Currently, it's not working properly.
What should I assign to "a href=" sothat it works properly?
Thanks,
Rahul
APEX URL syntax:
<tt>f?p=App:Page:Session:Request:Debug:ClearCache:itemNames:itemValues:PrinterFriendly</tt>
Like most information about APEX, it is freely available in the documentation.
(Please post code wrapped in \...\wrapped in <tt>\...\</tt> tags to preserve formatting and stop the forum software from interpreting HTML/CSS/JavaScript.)

How to reference a customised report template
Hi
I've created a copy of the standard reports template and modified it so that it does conditional highlighting. I only want to reference this template in one instance in my application so I want to keep the standard template for the other reports.
How do I reference the new template without disturbing the other report templates?
Thanks
AndrewOnly works for classic reports, click on report that you want to change in the region area of the builder then Report Attributes then change the Report Template in the layout and pagination section and apply changes. for IR's you have to override the IR CSS definitions in your page template.

Hi,
I have a Custom Report Template, it is a Named Column(Row) Report that I have created. It seems I can get the look and feel I want on a per row basis. But when I try and convert it to be able to loop through for a specific type, like a break on the first column, it gets all messed up. I was wondering if someone might be able to shed some light for me on this I have tried everything
Here is the row template

Thanks for the input! Yeah it is based on a query from a collection as all this data is summations that i am pre-populating.
Yes this html is probably from 1998 or 1999 I think they told me actually lol
So there is no way to accomplish what I am trying to do then?
There is no way I could use a break on first column and modify the header info to get the same sort of look and feel?Still not really clear what you are trying to accomplish, and in my view there are so many problems with the "look and feel" that it's not worth perpetuating.
Making a lot of assumptions, I've come up with the kind of HTML structure I'd use when marking up this kind of data. I added a page 2 to your example on apex.oracle.com, showing a basic presentation of this structure alongside the original for comparison, and another styled using the default theme L&F.
<li>Given the requirement to use multi-level headers (and because I prefer to have total control over the HTML), I stayed with a custom report template rather than trying to utilise column breaking with a generic column report template. This also permits use of more advanced table structures than can be supported by standard templates, such as s<tt>colgroup</tt>s to organize the table columns as well as the rows:
Before Rows
<table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" #REPORT_ATTRIBUTES# id="report_#REGION_STATIC_ID#">
#TOP_PAGINATION#
<tr>
<td>
<table class="fish">
<caption>Some fishy summaries</caption>
<colgroup span="1"></colgroup>
<colgroup span="4" class="evaluation-trips" align="right"></colgroup>
<colgroup span="4" class="other-trips" align="right"></colgroup>
After Rows
</table>
</td>
</tr>
#PAGINATION#
</table><li>Rather than separate tables, the report is contained in one HTML table, utilizing the <tt>tbody</tt> element to subdivide this into separate row groups to meet the "break on first column" requirement. This is achieved using conditional row templates, with PL/SQL Expressions based on the values of metadata columns added to the query:
Row Template 1
Header rows and first data row for each row group. <tt>scope</tt> attributes are added to multi-column headers for improved accessibility:
<tbody>
<tr>
<th colspan="9" scope="rowgroup">#C1#</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<th></th>
<th colspan="4" scope="colgroup">Evaluation Trips</th>
<th colspan="4" scope="colgroup">All Other Trips</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<th>#C2#</th>
<th>#C4#</th>
<th>#C5#</th>
<th>#C6#</th>
<th>#C7#</th>
<th>#C4#</th>
<th>#C5#</th>
<th>#C6#</th>
<th>#C7#</th>
</tr>
<tr class="#ALT#">
<td class="desc">#C8#</td>
<td>#C9#</td>
<td>#C10#</td>
<td>#C11#</td>
<td>#C12#</td>
<td>#C13#</td>
<td>#C14#</td>
<td>#C15#</td>
<td>#C16#</td>
</tr>
#CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#
Row Template 1 Expression
This template is used when the row metadata shows that the current row is in a different row group from the previous row:
#ROW_GROUP# != #PREVIOUS_ROW_GROUP#
Row Template 2
This is the "default" template, used for any subsequent data rows in the row group:
<tr class="#ALT#">
<td class="desc">#C8#</td>
<td>#C9#</td>
<td>#C10#</td>
<td>#C11#</td>
<td>#C12#</td>
<td>#C13#</td>
<td>#C14#</td>
<td>#C15#</td>
<td>#C16#</td>
</tr>
#CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#Both templates make use of a <tt>#CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#</tt> column value conditionally generated in the query that returns a <tt></tbody></tt> tag if the current row is the last data row in the row group. (Mixing logic and structure in this way is not good practice, but APEX only allows up to 4 conditional row templates, which is completely insufficient for any moderately complex structure.)
<li>Several metadata columns (incorporating heavy use of analytic functions) are added to the report query for use in the report template or CSS presentation:

.fish td:first-child {
text-align: left;
</style>The default theme L&F report adds vertical borders to separate columns and column groups (latter may not be fully effective on IE: I'm not wasting my time on quirks mode fixes for that).
The resulting report uses 60% less vertical space, and 87% less HTML code[1] than the original. Usability and accessibility are improved by eliminating nested tables and useless table cells and shim images, increasing the contrast between text and background colours, and using alternating row backgrounds for better visual tracking.

Issue with Report Template in EHS
Hi Gurus
I have an issue wiht report template in EHS. When i go to CG42 i tried to search for a report template no entries found. But if you F4 in template field there are templates getting displayed. If i select template and enter again, it says no object available. Looks like weird. Template is very well available in system. If you have this issue please guide me to correct the situation. Also can you please let us know what is the table to check report templates.

MuraliHi Murali,
with TC code - CG34, u may further try the following path -
File with path - Character standard
<path on application server>:\BP_PH_EHS_MSDS.DAT MS-NT
<path on application server>:\BP_PH_EHS_COVERL.DAT MS-NT
Choose Check File (F5). The transfer file area is filled with data.
Choose Start/Transfer time (F6). The symbol match up is displayed.
On the Import Report Template: Symbol Matchup screen choose again Start/Transfer time. MS Word for Windows is started with the template.
Choose Check Template. upcoming warning messages may be Ignored.
hope the issue is solved.

Hi experts,
We have certain customised reports eg. Missing time report, Cats approval report
In the scenario say If the employee has moved to different Personnel area or position belonging to diff org unit.
The employee with Missing time records will appear in MTR for both new PA as well as old PA. In MTR the selection criteria is PERNR, year and PA.
This is a issue where positions of an employee change from one org. unit to another along with the change in Personnel Area and employee still appears on the old org. unit or Personnel area in that missing time report.
MTR for PA HHH, is pulling out missing records for all the employees who at some point of time were belonging to PA HHH and now are in different PA.
How can we stop employees who have moved to diff PA to appear in the report.
Thanks
AvneetHi
Run the report with key dates in selection screen for getting only your desired PA with current date or date as you mentioned in report. -
Custom report template and URL links
Hello,
I have been working on this problem for some-time and it's starting to get frustrating. I am trying to 'mimic' the functionality of the 'people search' application and I am working on the hierarchy portion of it (page 3).
I copied the (3) custom report templates (one for each level of the hierarchy) and I created three queries to go to each.
My problem is that the links in the report template code keep getting mixed around -- the mgr_id is showing where the mgr_name should be, etc. In the example application the query has about 6 columns, and the template is only showing three (and the order of them in the report attributes doesn't seem to matter. But when I change the column order in my application, the data in the template changes??
Here is an example query:
select MGR_NAME, work_role,
nvl(total_direct,0) Directs, nvl(total_reports,0) Reports
from hr_orgchart_view
where
emp_id = :p3_emp_id
And the matching report template:
<tr align="center" valign="top">
<td align="center"class="instructiontext">
<b>#MGR_NAME#</b>
<br><font size=-2>
#WORK_ROLE#
</font><br><FONT class="smallBlack">
Directs: #DIRECTS# Total: #REPORTS#</font></td></tr>
Since the column name is being referenced as the link text, column order should not matter right?
Please shed some light on this situation, as I am holding up development. I am using version 1.6
Thanks,
JeffSorry, the code was messed up in previous post:
Template:
<tr align="center" valign="top">
<td align="center"class="instructiontext">
<b>#MGR_NAME#</b>
<br><font size=-2>
#WORK_ROLE#</font><br><FONT class="smallBlack">

Hi All,
I'm using ApEx 4.1.0.00.32
I have a report and I want to add a title to a field.
I thought it would be as easy as adding title="#my_title_column#" into the element attributes section in the column attributes region for the item.
Nothing appears against my item in the report.
I think I need to add some sort of replacement like #COLUMN_ELEMENT_ATTRIBUTES# into the report template that I am using to get this to work.
Does anyone know what the template replacements are? or where I can find a list?
Thanks
Michael

I have a reportWhen you have a question about "a report" it really does help if you're as explicit as possible about its nature: standard report/interactive report/tabular form; column display type etc.
I want to add a title to a field.
I thought it would be as easy as adding title="#my_title_column#" into the element attributes section in the column attributes region for the item.
Nothing appears against my item in the report."Field", "element attributes", and "item" suggest this is displayed as a control in a tabular form?
If not, note that Element Attributes only apply to tabular form controls, and don't appear to support <tt>#COLUMN_NAME#</tt>substitution anyway.
To add a <tt>title</tt> attribute to a value in a Display as Text/Standard Report Column, use the HTML Expression Column Formatting property:
<span title="#MY_TITLE_COLUMN#">#SOME_OTHER_COLUMN#</span> -
Template URL in the xfaForm variable Performance issue
the Browse button for the "Template URL" on the xfaForm variable property sheet seems to be very slow (when you have a few hundred forms in the system). Does this happen to you too? It seems that it's getting all the forms in the resource database in one shot, correct?
I wonder if it could be changed to just retrieve the list of resource Categories first? when you click on the "+" to expand the category, it then retrieves only the forms in that category. This way at least I can split my forms into several categories and improve the speed of the Browse button.

Issue with Customised Report Layout for Freezing Panes in a Tabular Form
Hi,
I am quite new to Oracle APEX. Any help would be great.
When I create a Report Template in the Shared components of my application, I do not find it listed in the Report Templates when i navigate to the report regions of my application and so I am not able to choose the customized Template for my reports. I am customizing in order to get scrollable reports in my application, followed the steps provided in the Thread, http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2180543&start=0&tstart=0 .
I am now listing the Steps in followed to create a Report Layout,
Navigate to Shared components > Templates > Report
Create From Scratch and paste the code as mentioned in the Thread.
Apply changes and save it. But when i Navigate to a report in the Application I do not find this Listed.
Thanks,
RamyaYes you can make a process that reads the apex_application.g_fnn arrays and insert your row manually but that's a lot of work.
For what you're doing it doesn't sound like the standard CRUD processes should have a problem with it. On your button-click if it's doing a redirect and not some kind of submit, it's possible then that the value isn't making it into session state and therefore not getting included in the DML. Are you sure it's getting into session state? -
ODC Connections to Oracle database saved in report templates issue

VO Extension Error in modifying the query of XML Publisher Report Template
Hi Friends,
I have one requirement related to calling XML Publisher Reports Template from OAF Page.
When clicking on the submit button the XML Publisher template is calling and displaying the data.
Our requirement is to display some more columns in the XML Publisher Template and display the data.
As according to OAF stndards,whenever we need to add new columns for display or SELECT purpose,
we will do the VO Extension. So we modified the query by adding the new additional colums in the standard VO.
I am able to retrieve the data from the SQL DEVELOPER. But when doing the VO Extension process and
calling the template from the OAF page its throwing the following error.Please suggest me some alternatives
to fix the issue.

Need customised report for list of stock for partially processed materials.
Hi ,
The requirement with process im explaining plz share the report.
This customised report related to partiallly processed materials:
Suppose , after recieving material from vendor as raw material they will transfer the mat to vendor for processing agsinst 57f4 challan, after completing the process, they will recieve this material , this process will continues to till becoming finished product, once after the finished product come, they will transfer to finished storage location, from there it will be issued to production.
How to make the report, plz suggest me:
The report format is :
S.no material description pending stock challan pending stock actual stock
Pending stock: material to be issued to vendor for proceessing
Challan pending stock: to be recieved from vendor after processing.
Actual stock: pending stock+challan pending stock.You need these three informations
Pending stock: material to be issued to vendor for proceessing
You have to find all Subcon. POs from Table EKKO,EKPO. Po number need to be passed to EKET Table and need to fetch "Reservation Number". Take this number and goto RESB table to get all components. You can find issue documents from MSEG table by passing 541 and PO Number. You need not consider all 541 documents which have been converted to Challan as it will be already considered with point no. 2
2. Challan pending stock: to be recieved from vendor after processing.
From Table J_1IEXCDTL by selecting 57F4 take all the stock from all the Challans which are having "status" P -Inprocess. (Reconciliation and completion not done.)
3. Actual stock: pending stock+challan pending stock.
This is just calculation.
I think there are many validations and considerations to be made. I think you can build from here.

Report template enhancement? no data found message
I have a layout in which I want to show the excel export link in the same html table as a logo, so that code needs to be placed in the report template, but when no data is found I still want to show the logo and so all my reports have the same html code in the "no data found" field. Whenever I want to change this I have to change my template as well as all of my reports.
Wouldn't it be a nice idea to provide for a "no data found" message in the report template instead of the report itself? I can imagine you would want to show the same "no data found" message anyway for all reports so the template would be a logical place to put this.There are known issues with Interactive Reports referencing :REQUEST value, probably due to some inner logic that also handles it simultaneously - potentially causing malfunction or deadlocks.
One workaround I've learned is to create a computation to assign :REQUEST to a temporary item (a PXX_REQUEST, for instance) and reference it in the query, instead of :REQUEST. This has worked fine for me in my experience.
Let me know if that helps - pls sign the thread as 'Useful' or 'Correct' if so, hence more people can benefit.
tks,

XML tags in an "export : XML" Report Template
Hi All,
I'm using the export XML report template to produce XML from a query. One of the column contains XML tags and the template is translating eg: if the column is "Groups" then I get:
<Groups>& lt ;Group& gt ;Sales & lt ;/Group & gt ; & lt ;Group& gt ;IT& lt ;/Group& gt ;</Groups>(ignoring all the spaces - OTN is translating the & gt 's :)
instead of:
<Groups><Group>Sales<Group><Group>IT</Group></Groups>Is there an easy way to stop this ?
Thanks,
Steve

Unable to upload the updated/modified Report template (rtf file) in siebel
Hi,
I am unable to upload the updated/modified Report template (rtf file) if already exists in the local database.
Initially I have uploaded a rtf template, generated xliff, registered it and can view the report from the registered view. Later I have made few changes to the rtf template, in the reports template view, I have uploaded this. When i run the report in the registered view, I am able to see the earlier version and it doesnt show me the updated changes.
I am using 8.1.1.3 siebel and BIP 10.1.3.3.1 on local.
Looking at the metalink found "How To Upload Modified RTF Template Files In The Siebel Application For BI Publisher Reporting [ID 1136418.1]" which is related to server but I am working on local database
Please find attached the template, xml file. can you please look into this and update me ASAP
Thanks,
RVHi,
Not able to find Report - Standard templates or Report - Custom templates view in Administration - BIP reports in Siebel 8.1.1.3?
We have applied 8.1.1.3 patch on 8.1.1.0
below are the steps followed
Reports are not generated after 8.1.1.3 patch installtion.
we have also followed to below steps mentioned for this issue in oracle support.
"In order to resolve this behavior it is necessary to ensure that the 8.1.1.3 FixPack has been applied to the Siebel Tools installation. This will provide an additional .zip file in the REPPATCH folder of the Siebel Tools installation. Once this has been done please then follow the configuration steps as documented :
change sysprefix to X_ before sif import and chage back to SBL_ after sif import.
1) Import the sif files from Siebel\8.1\Tools_1\REPPATCH\12-1VMBCSV.zip
2) Import the 4 SIF files in the following order:
S_XMLP_REP_TMPL_02112010.sif
SBL_XMLP_REPORT_SELECTION_FLG.sif
Report Template BC.sif
Report Template Registration Applet.sif
3)Apply the DDL for table S_XMLP_REP_TMPL and compile repository
Once the above steps have been completed the Selected Record flag will appear in the Report Template Registration views."
we still not able to generated able to generate reports even after following above steps.
Thanks
Sean
