Reporting on Application Use

Hi Folks,
Is there any type of software I can use for my MacBook Pro to run reports on software usage? I want to track how often and when the last time I used various applications was.

Hello,
In one of the patch we have to apply, there is a step :
"Redeploy the Financial Reporting Web Application using the EPM configuration tool."
But when I go to the Weblogic server and run the EPM System Configurator, I expect to see "Financial Reporting Web Application"
Instead of this, I see "Reporting and Analysis" then "Deploy to Application Server"
Is it the same thing ?

No, you must use the EPM configuration tool, if you go to Start->All Programs->Oracle EPM Systems->Foundation Services.
You will see the EMP Configuration tool wich it usually resides here:
%HYPERION_HOME%\common\config\9.5.0.0\configtool.bat
Once you run it you can follow the "on screen" instructions, it is pretty self explanatory.

Is there any Open source Reporting Toll for using in swing application ?

Is there any reporting system like crystal report or any thing for report generation. Using JTable class it is so time taking job. I have downloaded Eclipse with crystal report embedded, and have created a report but can not integrate the report with JFrame with any menu item action. All the code i got releted to JSP. and few code get that are using

I have already use Jasper Report. Thakns a lot for your suggestion. Now I think i have solved your problem...... View the code.. this code will not open the JasperViewer but from the background it will be printed and after calling the printing function you can save a data in the database ------------------------

Deploy Visual Basic 6.0 RDC application using Crystal Reports 9 on Windows Vista

When attempting to deploy a Visual Basic 6.0 Report Designer Component (RDC) application using Crystal Reports 9 on Windows Vista systems, the application fails after the first print or preview (that show normally) and an error occurred: -2147417848 Method '' of object '' failed.
The app use the RDC and Active Data; I verify that the problem is encountered when the app calls the 'SetDataSource' method.
I tried everything that came in my mind: reinstalling it a few times, with administrator priviledges, disabling uac, manually registering dlls, ...
I hope that this will be fixed, since Crystal Report 9 is the last CR version compatible with windows 98.

Hi,
As I know there is no fix/workaround for that.
Disable filtering and other stuff is only. But I think you of course like have filters and other nice thing of interactive report. Other vice you have done classic report.
It is better use classic report and build own custom filers.

I put the BI Publisher report in dashboard and create a go url but the problem is it is showing top header and all dashboard names present in my dashboard.
I want to show only report.
If we do a GO url of answers requst it shows only report . Same way can we do for BI publisher request.

Try making your column definition as "Remove HTML and escape special characters".
I tried it and it make the column appear as editable as intended and also clicking on the column heading or on the filter in the IR bar behave properly.

Print a report from Application Express direct to a CUPS Printer

Hi all, I'm new to this technology, is it possible to print a report from Application Express directly to a CUPS Printer? Can someone tell me in laymans terms how to do it? I find the terminology and documentation less than helpful.

BI Publisher handles submitting reports directly to a CUPS printer. However, the APEX integration doesn't currently integrate with that portion of BI Publisher.
Here's an options:
Use the Java API of BI Publisher to build a custom Java program that would do this for you. Delivering to CUPS is part of the Java API.

Unable to print crystal report over web using ActiveX Control

We have a problem with printing crystal report over web using ActiveX Control. When clicking print button, it only shows a blank dialog web crystal viewer page without any error. The page just simply hangs. We installed the PrintControl DLL and enable all the security setting for ActiveX Control for IE. It still does not print. Does anyone know why?
Environment.
Bundle Crystal Report v10
Asp.net 2.0
IE 6.0 or higher.
Appreciate for your help.

When Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is enabled, using the ActiveX control to print reports from a Crystal 10 DHTML viewer results in the following error message:
"A communication error occurred, printing will be stopped."
How can this error message be resolved?
Resolution
This is a known issue with Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10 viewers and has been tracked. The Track ID is ADAPT00282199.
This error occurs due to the receiving application performing a case-sensitive check for the HTTPS request header value "ON". When a sender application sends the value as "on" in lower case, the error occurs. The update below changes the receiving application to be case-insensitive.
Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the updates, this issue is resolved.
Unless indicated otherwise, Weekly Hot Fix updates from our FTP site have only been tested with English versions of products.
For Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10, the update for this issue is included in the Crystal 10 Viewers Weekly Hot Fix (WHF). This is available in English only at the following location:

On my Windows environment the JRC export into PDF work perfectly. I know that there are some known issues regarding the usage of JRC on Linux environments. Could this be one of those?

What kind of image do you have in the report?
Do you have -Djava.awt.headless=true specified for the Java JVM option?

How to make a downloadable report of application log file.

i am new to this ABAP environment, I have application logs in my system, i need to generate the reports based on my filter condition and i need to download them as file/report, For example;
I need a Application Log report for:
only Particular User
only particular time
only importent logs
only errors
like that....so on..
Can any one give me step by step, how to make a report of application logs, i know only i can see logs use transaction CodeSLG1. I want to make report them.

How to pass custom cookie from report builder application to SSRS Custom Security Extension?

We want to implement SSRS in SaaS model. We implemented Custom Security extension in order to authenticate users from other application. When user enters username/password, i would like to authenticate the user in other application and it will return some data which can be used for autherization. I am expecting the same set of data will be accessible during all autherization calls.
Currently we are implementing this in Report Builder application. I couldn't able to persist the information in cookie. Report builder removes all the cookies exceprt one cookie which is used by report server.Is there any way to share the information in all reportbuilder autherization calls in same session?

if you have your own data extension, you can using
HttpContext.Current.Application.Add("yourkey",

to save your data, but the issue I met it the key, I cannot find a key depended on report builder. If I use username, if the user open 2 report builder, both of them will get the same key and same data, but at this case the data should be different.

I am calling the report via forms, In application server i had recompiled the reports in two different format too.

I have called the report from the menu and i used code like below

I using Forms 10g R2, i store the recompile version in Application server.
Good, so you can refer to the metalink note I mentioned above, as per storing the reports in the application server, the default place for running reports is not a folder in the FORMS_PATH, the REPORTS_PATH is set in the $ORACLE_HOME/bin/reports.sh file, pointing by default to the sample folder - $ORACLE_HOME/reports/samples/demo, for testing purposes you can put your report there and try it again, or you can modify the REPORTS_PATH variable in the reports.sh file to point to the directory you were mentioning.
Note: I am calling the report throug menu using the eariler posting code.
I would recommend to create a Form to call the Report, I am not sure if there are restrictions about invoking a report directly from the menu.
About the code, you are missing a lot there, refer to metalink note mentioned above, here is an excerpt from that document.

In my eariler version 6i (2 tier) when i call the report it invoke parameter form. will 10g also behave same like 6i?
Yes, there is still a parameter Form which runs in an HTML page.

Should i want to create any Report_Path, Report_classpath ? if yes ,where should i ?* It will depend on your configuration, the easiest way is to setup the REPORTS_PATH in the $ORACLE_HOME/bin/reports.sh file, if you are configuring the reports server to use environment ids, that would not work and you would need to setup the REPORTS_PATH directly in the reports engine configuration file .. $ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf/rwserver.template.

I am trying to install a .Net application using ClickOnce technology. The software is hosted on a webserver and is installed on my local machine. After downloading the package, the installer exits without a message. On checking the windows event logs,I get

I have tried it on other systems where the application can be deployed succesfully, so the package on server is not corrupt.
Using Windows 8 64-bit, IE 10 RTM
I did check some posts, but could not find anything relevant. Can you point me in the right direction?
P.S. I do not have developer access to modify the package, but have admin access on my machine.

Hi Win8FanBoy,
As you can't modify the package, I suggest you checking if the application can be executed well in your win8 machine without the installer. You could get the application, run it directly in your machine. then check if it would be corrupt.
If it still be corrupt, I'm afraid that you have to access to modify the package to make it compliant with win8 64-bit.
