Reporting solution required

Hi,
We are reporting on sales cube.
Now there is a requirement that the delivery managers(Those on the same roles) should add a comment and sent the report to the subordinates. Please let me know if there is any such option in BI suite. Further we are using Bex Analyser(Excel) in reporting.

You can use E-mail broadcasting, which will help you to send the Bex report in user's mailbox. User can add comment to the report and send it to anyone.

Hello all!
I am newbie in this field and i have complex question to the experienced guys.
I need to implement own reporting solution for my software.
requirements:
- simple reports (counting items per period) on daily/weekly/monthly basis
- output: probably html table, because it is easy to publish on webpage or sent by email
- automatic reporting solution
- independent from DB type (oracle/mysql)...is it possible to do it somehow independent??
which technologies can be successfully used for such project? (stored procedures? plsql? shell script? perl? php scripting?)

There are quite a few.. OBIEE is good enough with way too many features. Scalable as well..
If you would like to develop your own, APEX has enough capability to address your needs.

BOBJ Reporting Solution Options

Hi Experts,
I need expert advise on the following questions.
1. What are the tools available in BOBJ to create reports out of NON-SAP datawarehouse build on SQL Server?
2. What tools/methodolgy can be used to create reports out of SAP BW and Non-SAP data using BOBJ?
3. Is building a universe the only way to create a report out of Non-SAP data? if no, what are the other options?
4. What are the tools available in BOBJ which can be used to create a reporting solution combining non-sap data (legacy) and SAP BW data? For example financial statement report showing data going back to 36 months in which 12 months data is from SAP BW and the 24 months is from legacy.

BOBJ consists of following tools to create reports
Desktop Intelligence (DeskI)
WebI
WebI Rich Client
Crystal Reports -
All above tools can be used to create reports from SAP and non-SAP data. Depending on your need, you can choose the tool.
DeskI can be used to create reports from Universes, free hand SQL, personal data files
WebI can be used to create reports from universe (only)
webi rich client is same webI but it is adesktop version. it is available from XI 3 onwards. they introduced personal data files as source.
Crystal reports can be created from Business View, Universe, personal data files, sql, etc.
Designer - to create Universe
Business View Manager - to create Business View
universe is a metadata create on the data structure. it can be either sap data or non-sap data.

The expected behavior:

Hello.
The Invoice Aging Report shows unpaid invoices, which may be not due yet. Use the Cash Requirement Report to forecast your immediate cash needs for invoice payments.

Report in required currency - positions that are reported in TPM12

Hi,
User is looking for a report that will convert balances in original currency to a currency specified by the user based on the u201CMu201D rate for the u201Cas ofu201D (key date) date of the report. Basically they are referring to TPM12/TMR1 and would like to see the positions converted to whichever currency they would like to. I am looking to execute some of the standard transactions that report positions, like, TIS1 (Overview positions), S_ALN_01001154 - Simulated Valuation, etc., but couldn't find the output converted in the currency given in Display currency / Evaluation Currency in the input screen.
Experts, can you through some light on this and tell if there is any such report?

Thanks for your prompt reply. First of all, we are looking at if there is any standard transaction that will give the report as required. The client is not interested to use SAP query as there are some authorization problems to transactions SQ01, SQ02, etc. None of the user have access to these transactions.
If standard report is not meeting the requirement we may need to for customer development. But before doing that I am trying to find out if it is possible in any of the existing standard reports.

Trying to make use of Data Modeler Reports from within SQL Dev EA 2.1, but every time I try to connect to a DB I get the following message "Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler reporting repository required."
Any idea how to go about sorting this out?

When i try to export one diagram to the reporting schema, i get the following error : "Error occurred while exporting to Reporting Schema.See the log file for details".
The log file has no errors.
The repository owner is DBA.
The connection is ok.

Actuate reporting solutions

We have developed a module that integrates Forte with Actuate. We were very
impressed with Actuate's reporting capability, but our clients had a couple of
concerns with it: 1) they didn't like the per-user fee Actuate charges for the
report scheduler, 2) they wanted to use the same interface to input parameters
that they use in their normal application windows (with drop-down lists,
multi-selection list, validations, short cut keys, etc.).
What we did was to create a front-end window in Forte that dynamically builds
parameter screens for inputting report parameters. These windows vary
depending upon the reports' needs. After entering these parameters, the user
can run the report from Forte.
Shortly we will add the ability for the users to parse their reports, by
customer, and automatically fax them. When R3 is released, we will further
integrate the two tools.
I myself have not used Actuate, but if you are still interested, and I can
refer you to our Actuate/Forte experts.

We would like to know if it is possible to design and produce reports
directly from Forte' Application without making a new query on DBMS (from

Reporting solution for a very long report

Hi All,
We have requirement to print a very long report ( about 150.000 pages folio size, something like account statement ). Database server is in remote location, connected to report's client via 64 kbps VPN.
What is the best solution for such requirement ?
Some thoughts are :
- using Crystal Report / Oracle Report , display the report on browser and print it
- Query the data from client side, save the data locally and create report from it
or is there any best solution for this ?

Create an output file on the location where the database is located, zip it, and transfer it to the client. 150000 pages is an awful lot, but usually mostly spaces.

All suggestions for better reporting solution will be much appreciated!

I have a requirement (Reports 6i C/S) to print out a number of word documents (stored as BLOBS in a table) and the associated notes data. Here is the table structure

SQL>Now I can produce a simple report to preview / print the DATE_ENTERED, ENTERED_BY, and NOTES fields and I have developed code to print the BLOB documents in the background using OLE but once the Word docs are printed out there is no way to link them up to the corresponding notes.
Therefore the next most obvious solution (to me anyway) is to print out a single notes record followed by the corresponding word doc, followed by the next notes record and so on and so forth. Then at least they should come out on the printer in the correct order.
It doesn't sound particularly elegant so I was wondering if anyone had a better idea?

I guess no-one has any suggestions then?

Solutions required for ODs(Different operations)

Since 1st September, client has implemented the principle of parking posting OD(Different operationals). However, the parking implementation does not concern the large number of documents to be entered:
-The banking accountant in charge of entering the cash receipt documents,
-The accountant in charge of personnel accounts (expense notes, loans, advancesu2026.).
In this context:
1.Is it possible for you to provide us the complete list of transactions that can allow passing the ODs (FB01 Type),
2.Is it possible for you to let us know if we can use other types of documents for the cash documents and the personnel documents (expense note, loansu2026) to differentiate them from the SA and AB types for a better OD monitoring,
3.Is it possible for you to let us know if we can use the other types of documents for the cash registers and the personnel documents (expense note, loans,u2026) to differentiate the types SA and AB for a better monitoring of OD,
4.Is it possible for you to let us know the transaction that gives us a report of the OD documents with the following minimum details (parked by, validated by, document date, amount, document label, impacted accounts),
Above said four are the user requirements, kindly provide possible solutions ASAP

Reports 6i Requirement -- Complext Matrix with grouping. Urgent help needed

I have a report requirement. The problem is like this.
There is an organization under which there are several schools.
each school has different classes.
Each class has several no of students.
We have to display marks of all the students in each class of the organization (note. all classes, schools)

I have tried using the matrix report with groups. But i was able to create a matrix and find the totals upto the class level which is quite simple.
I was not able to find the totals subjectwise for the school and orgnization levels.
Can you suggest me any solution for this?

Much of it depends on the structure of the data/query. If the subject per student are stored or prepared so they appear as separte columns in a query then there would be no need to use matrix. Are you getting what I am saying?

Computers report "not required", but why ?

I am trying to push out Windows 8.1 Update 1 (KB 2919355) to a collection, containing all my windows 8.1 computers.
However, if I check the SCCM report, most of the computers (that all contain Windows 8.1 Enterprise or Pro) have a state of "Update is not required". A couple of machines got the update alright.
The update has not been superseeded, by any other update, and the update is for the x64 OS, and the OS of all machines is x64.
Does anyone have a clue with it's behaving this way, or what to do from here ?

There are three known solutions solution to this that were established in
this thread:
Download and deploy 2919355 and 2919442 to Windows 8.1 systems separately from WSUS.
Download and deploy Windows 8.1 Update slipstream media that includes all the Windows 8.1 Update patches.
Apply the Windows 8.1 Update patches using DISM to the original (ca 2012) Windows 8.1 media.
(1) works, although I have not found a way to get SCCM to reliably deploy 2919442 by packaging it as an application or package. I did determine that once 2919442 is installed on a deployed machine SCCM will eventually succeed in patching
up to a current machine provided almost automatically -- you still have to reboot each machine a few times manually.
I have yet to actually get a copy of the Windows 8.1 Update slipstream media required for (2). It is missing from my VLSC portal.
I have had the best success by doing (3) by manually applying 2919442, and the patches list in KB2919355
in the correct order to the Windows 8.1 install media wim using DSM. That process looks something like this:

Where
win8.1.wim is from the original circa 2012 Windows 8.1 install media
.\mount is an empty folder
.\patches is the folder containing each of the required patches
