Reports are not returning results in obiee 11g dashboards.
Hi,
I have dashboard with 3 reports,i saved my customization of particular date range, product group and target list. When I ran the dashboard for first time,I got all the results for 3 reports in dashboard but from the second time, only one of the reports returned results but other reports are just hanging up.I tried to clear cache in both BI server and presentation services but no use.
Please help me what steps needs to be done so that all my saved reports return data.

Did you try running the physical query of the reports against the database to see if you are able to return results quickly?

AGO function is not returning value in OBIEE 11g
I have 2 tables FIN_MASTER AND FIN_TRANS.
FIN_MASTER is having the following fields org_code, type_code, vr_no, vr_Date, pay_to .FIN_TRANS is having the columns org_code, type_code, vr_no, acct_code. debit, credit.
PK of FIN_MASTER is org_code, type_code, vr_no
PK of FIN_TRANS is org_code, type_code, vr_no, acct_code
I have imported these two tables in to physical layer and created join between these two tables on the following keys. org_code, type_code, vr_no. Then i dragged these two to BMM layer. Now i created 3 new logical columns in DIM_FIN_MASTER as year, quarter, month. These 3 columns are created using the functions year(vr_date), month(vr_date), quarter_of_year(vr_date). Then i created a dimension heirarchy called TIME( structure type is TIME) from this DIM_FIN_MASTER. and set chronological key on month level. Then I applied the AGO function on debit column with month level. After that, repository is uploaded and BI server is restarted. Now amount is not displaying in AGO function column in analytics. That column is appearing as empty.
Please advise me.Here is the dirty fix, I'm heading off to sleep.

HtmlViewService not returning content of OBIEE report.
I am using C# to connect to OBIEE's Web Services. I am specifically using the HtmlViewService as I would like to return the HTML of certain OBIEE reports and embed them in ASP.NET pages. I have all the connection settings configured correctly and am able to call methods like getCommonBodyHTML, getHTMLForReport, getHtmlForPageWithOneReport, etc. (and obtain some sort of returned html) but the actual reports are not showing up.
I think the reason that html is being returned but no report is being displayed has to do with the ReportID and reportPath not being set correctly. At the most basic level, I would just like to return an entire report using the getHtmlForPageWithOneReport method. Originally this is what I had and I got errors:
The full path to my report is "/shared/webService/Sales"
The reportId is set to the name of my report: "Sales"
The reportRef is a ReportRef object with a URL of "/shared/webService"
String html = HTMLservice.getHtmlForPageWithOneReport(reportID, reportRef, null, null, null, pageParams, sessionID);
Because of the errors, I set the reportRef's URL to "/shared/webService/Sales" in order to just make the code work, but I am still not getting working OBIEE reports. I basically only get the "Loading..." icon. The html that is returned has multiple forms with a bunch of hidden input tags.
Can someone help me with this problem? Am I missing something with the reportID and reportRef parameters?
Thanks.Hi Josh,
I was also facing the same problem. The solution in my case was
removing the logoff() method at the end of the application.
In my understanding the application is clearing the session
even before the report is generated on the page. So try
removing the logoff(sessionID) method that you might be using
at the end of your application.
I will soon post the code as well.
Thanks

Charts are not showing up on OBIEE 111160 on Windows 2008 64 bit
Hi,
We have installed OBIEE 111160 on Windows server 2008 64 bit. We pointed our RPD and web catalog to OBIEE 111160. But, some of our reports are not showing the chart view. We are able to see data in table view. If we run the same RPD and web catalog on Windows server 2003 32 bit with OBIEE 111160, the reports are showing chart view.
Can anybody help..
Thanks,
AnileshI'm running 11g in same config as you, for me no issues.
Not sure exact reason but try these checks
Control Panel->Java : open it
goto Java tab, click View see how many jre are available. If the jre is out side of OFM_HOME make sure you have it in CLASSPATH.
if this is not working out try to set OFM_HOME\Oracle_BI1\jdk\jre, enable it and try.
Let me know updates :) -
OBIEE 11g: Dashboard not invoking simple javascript alert
Hi Experts,
I'm trying to invoke one simple ALERT command with javascript in obiee 11g dashboard. The purpose is when it loads, it should print one ALERT message and also when we change something in the prompt and clicking Apply button.
Here is code written in a text item (Checked html markup option) after prompts;
<script language="Javascript">
alert ("Hello");
</script>
The Javascript alert message is showing when the dashboard page loads, but its not coming when we click the Apply button after changing the prompts.
Can anyone give helpful hint, how to check it and why its not showing up when we press Apply button?
Any hint or some useful links will b highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. You just used code and I would say the default event is onload of the page, thats the reason you are able to see alert.
Since you didnt ask or written code onClick event to show alert, its not showing.
You need to tell to browser when to prompt alert message instead of onload.
Hope you are more confuse about 'how to do'
if yes, mark :)
give some more info about your actual req. that helps any other gurus to help.

Reports are not called from form in browser plz help
Hi,
I have installed 9iAS+8.1.7 database on the same machine with NT4 server. My system's forms(.fmx) are running well but my reports are not running from my main form.i call reports from the
from as,
Run_Product(reports,'..\iReports\xglrxx12.rep',synchronous,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pl_id,null);
Actually want to know the report's setting when calling from the from in a browser(environment variables, virtual paths etc.).
My database is installed in drive E:\8idb_home\ and 9iAS is on
G:\9iAS_home\.My systems .fmx & .rep files are in "iforms" and "ireports" folder respectively.
Plz help!
Many thanks!Hi,
First of all thanks to Vincent Botteman for solving the prob.
Yes when i changed my call of run_product by excluding the path i have specified when calling from form it then makes a result.
Also specified the entry of your reports .rep files by giving path in reports60_path registery variable as,
Run regedit-->Hkey_Local_Machine-->Software-->Oracle here give the full path of your .rep files as an first entry in reports60_path variable. And finally not mention the path when calling reports from form as,
Run_Product(reports,'xglrxx13.rep',synchronous,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pl_id,null);<--- Correct way.
Run_Product(reports,'..\iReports\xglrxx13.rep',synchronous,RUNTIME,FILESYSTEM,pl_id,null);<--- Wrong way.

Most Popular Items Report: items listed in report are not the document names or titles
I have a document library that's loaded with typical corporate ppt, word, and pdf files. When I run a Most Popular Items report on the library, the list of items displayed in the report are not the document file names or document titles.
Instead, the report is showing information that seems to pulled from within the content itself.
For example, there's a new corporate ppt template in the document library and the Most Popular Items report shows the sharepoint url for the ppt file as being one of the most popular items. Let's say that the file is named Standard_ppt_template.ppt.
The url for one of the most popular items reflects that in the URL. However, the item is listed in the Most Popular Item as "Company Confidential". The report seems to be pulling the words "Company Confidential" listed in the
footer of the ppt template and showing that as the most popular content item.
Is there a reason or setting why the Most Popular Items report is not returning a list of items based on either the file name or the document title?
Thanks in advance for any advice.Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that the PPT files items in the “Most Popular Items” report display these items’ names seem to be pulled from the PPT files’ content.
Per my test, the Word, Excel, PDF, .txt, .png files items in the “Most Popular Items” report will display these items’ names based on the corresponding items’ title value if they have, or the corresponding file name if these items don’t have the title value.
However, it’s by design that the PPT files items in the “Most Popular Items” report will display these items’ names only based on the beginning of these PPT files’ content rather than these files’ names and the corresponding items’ title value.

Content scope document library does not return result for non farm administrator
Hi
I have a situation where I had to go with a unique permission applied subsite to store 1000 documents in the document library. This site has a set of 50 users. I was able to create content scope and library path for search. It returns results for me(creator/owner/administrator)
however if I add other users as contributor or full permission, even after full crawling it does not return result for others.
I saw some article that security broken site wont be indexed normal way and to include and I did that as well but no result for other users. I always get result.
Please suggest if there are any specific security permissions that I need to include, so the document library target search will return result for others.
Thanks
ShriHi Shri,
For administrator search results, it looks like the documents could be crawled and searched.
For other users you grant full control permission on subsite with unique permission where you store 1000 dcouments in document library, please make sure these 50 users have access permission(at least view permission) on documents from the
library, then test again.
Also test if users search on search center site without search scope, see if it's scope issue or search web part issue.
If above doesn't work, please check ULS log for related useful information around the time when users search the documents, there should be more info to verify if issue is related to unique permision.
Thanks,
Daniel Yang

CQWP does not return result for a specific query when filtering on a managed metadata field.
Hi,
We are facing a serious production issue. We've search the web extensively but to no avail.
Problem:
CQWP does not return result for a specific query when filtering on a managed metadata field.
ULS log:
The Uls logs provides 3 different messages that I could relate to every time the query is executed. The last item(level Medium) is displayed 14 times. For readability I've moved the ULS logs to the bottom of this question.
Query:
The query is as follows:
(I've translated this from dutch so pardon any typo's)
Query: (top selection) Display items from all sites in the site collection
ListType: Documentlibrary
Contenttype:
Items from this group:Custom Document Contenttypes
Items from this content type: Verklaring
Filter: Soort is equal to X
extra info: the field soort (Type) is a managed metadata field that was assigned the value X
Managed Metadata Structure:
-managed metadata service
-Contoso
-Enterprise Taxonomy (term set)
-Document (term)
-Verklaring (term)
-Soort (term)
-x (term)
EXTRA INFO:
When I modify the filter to filter on Title the CQWP DOES return the correct document!
When I modify the query settings to search a specific library the CWQP also does return the correct document! (In this case I am filtering on a managed metadata field).
QUESTION:
Why doesn't the CQWP return the document when filtering on a managed metadata field over the entire site collection.
Why does the CQWP return the document when filtering on a managed metadata field over a single library.
(The type of information the CQWP should return (Soort:x) is stored in a dozen document libraries!)
Here are the ULS logs.

Find an item not returning results in SharePoint calendar list
Environment: SharePoint 2013 upgraded to SP1. We have 1000s of team sites that have been upgraded from 2010 to 2013. In the lists in these sites, quite often I encounter that
Find an item does not return results for certain fields other than the title field. For example, we have a calendar list which has a Single Line of Text field. I can not get meaningful results searching on
this field. I have tried this, no luck:
http://www.enjoysharepoint.com/Articles/Details/sharepoint-2013-find-an-item-search-box-does-not-return-20956.aspx
Search service crawls incremental every hour. I hope this does not need a full crawl.
Thanks, Soumya | MCITP, SharePoint 2010Thanks Ganesh. All these settings are as you recommended it to be. Nonetheless I double checked and here are the results:
Ensure in the Search Service Application that the Web Application is included in the Content Source under SharePoint Start Addresses.
Yes. Please remember we are getting search results. To be specific we are not getting Find items in the list to be returning accurate results.
Make sure that the address in Alternate access mappings default text box is same as the start crawl address in the search service application.
Yes.
List Setting - Allow items from this list to appear in search results? yes
Ensured
set “Require content approval for submitted item?” to “No”.
It is set to "No". However, will it not work for approved contents also?
Thanks, Soumya | MCITP, SharePoint 2010 -
Reports are not posting with report repository webserver configured for Sin
Hi Everyone,
We have configured Single Signon on our Test environment (UADB1) using Sun Authentication Manager. Everything went well, we can login using our LDAP accounts except for one thing. The reports are not posting to the report repository.
Our setup goes like this. We have used only one webserver for login and for report repository purposes. SSL certificate was configured in the webserver and we are using https in the report node. Both URLs https://dv001.test.com:8450 and http://dv001.test.com:8400 were configured for Single Signon.

Below is the error I am getting. If I will use another webserver which is not the Single Signon configured as report repository the reports are posting. So, I am thinking this has something to do with the Single Signon setup and SSL. ANy idea? Thanks.

Reports are not able to run coz of Block Corruption
Hi all,
I have reported some Oracle finance reports are not running.
Once i got the call i looked into the user trace file, there i found the below :
Corrupt block dba: 0x2100f345 file=33. blocknum=62277. found during buffer read
on disk type:0. ver:0. dba: 0x00000000 inc:0x00000000 seq:0x00000000 incseq:0x00000000
Entire contents of block is zero - block never written
Reread of block=2100f345 file=33. blocknum=62277. found same corupted data
table scan: segment: file# 15 block# 84
skipping corrupt block file# 33 block# 62277
Corrupt block dba: 0x2100f346 file=33. blocknum=62278. found during buffer read
on disk type:0. ver:0. dba: 0x00000000 inc:0x00000000 seq:0x00000000 incseq:0x00000000

Reread of block=2100f346 file=33. blocknum=62278. found same corupted data
table scan: segment: file# 15 block# 84
skipping corrupt block file# 33 block# 62278
Then i try to find out which table is affected by the below queary :
SQL> select segment_type,owner,segment_name from dba_extents where file_id=33 and 62278 between block_id and block_idblocks -1;+
SEGMENT_TYPE OWNER
SEGMENT_NAME
TABLE GL
GL_JE_LINES
So this above table GL_JE_LINES is the affected table is init.
Now what is the action i have to take. In this database there is no archive log enabled and version of this database is 7.

ShahzadHi Paul,
We recently upgraded our SCCM 2012 R2 servers to OS 2012 R2, Now i could not able to see the path you mention in your blog.
mofcomp.exe “C:\Program
Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof”
Bear in mind that the above command is for SQL Server 2008 and it assumes that SQL is installed in its default location.
The command for SQL Server 2012 is:
mofcomp.exe “C:\Program
Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof”
I can only see D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\<Below
folders>

Hi,
There is a reporting problem with one of our projects. We use reports S_ALR_87013542 (Display Actual Cost Line Items for Project) and CN41(Structure Overview). The balance being displayed by these two reports are not matching. Why the different amounts are showing up in these two reports and how do I find out the correct amount which still remains in the Project.
Your suggestions/inputs will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
BalaHi,
Thanks for your inputs. I have 2 queries here...
1. Whether the reports S_ALR_87013542 & CN41 are same displaying the same information?
2. How can I check the Balance amount still remaining in the project? Is there any report?
Thanks & regards,
