Reports ...Calculations & Supression not working

Hello, I have one report in which I have to subtract 2 columns (say A& B) and show the value in column(say C). I want to supress allthe rows for which there are negative values in column C ... Thisis not working for me. Then I need to calculate the percentage of C compared to A . Nowthere might be ZERO or MISSING Values in column A and the divisionby these gives error. Is there anything I can do to replace thesevalues so that division does not gives errors. I have tried to use conditional supression but it does not worksfor me. I have only few rows in the report which expand ( I amusing lists for different levels) and I need to supress these rowsfor missing data. But when I remove the basic supression and addthe conditional in additional supression, the report just stopsworking and stays in a loop for a long time. Any suggestions....? clegcleg, That's a good suggestion . I tried it but this is not workingfor me. As far as I understand , formatting (conditional or normal) isapplied on the report after all the data retrival and calculationsare done. So If I replace the values using conditional formatting,they are not considered in the calculation and the division by ZEROor MISSING values would still show error on my report. About condtional supression, I had basic supression (on missingvalues) on the row. Now when I change the supression to supressrows if A>B or for "NO DATA" in current row, thereport just takes forever. With basic supression , the report isgenerated in 5 secs and with conditional supression for NO DATA ,the report ran for like 5 minutes and I had to cancel ifeventually. Any more tips & tricks please??

VS2005 Crystal Report Print Report Button is not working on Windows 7 x64

Hi There,
My application is written in VS2005 C# on x86 machine. It runs smoothly on XP pro and Vista x86 machine.
I deployed the same to windows 7 x64 machine with CRRedist2005_x64.msi and found that the Print Report button is not working.
So, I re-compiled my application to x64 target platform, and reinstall the application to the same machine. But nothing changed. I have surf for answer over the web but nothing found.
Please help urgently. Any helps is much appreciated. Thks in advance.

I follow your instruction as below:
1) download the sample app vbnet_win_printtoprinter.zip to dev computer and compile it to .NET 2005.
- Run from my dev computer
- Click "Print Report" button
- Error message display - please see below
    The error was due to the default printer name hard coded in the program was not found. I have edited to my printer name and it can be printed out with no error.
2) Use a "saved data" report so that you do not have to worry about database logon.
can't find the "saved data", please elaborate
3) Then copy the exe to the 64 bit box and try to print using this sample app.
-do you mean copy the exe to the 64 bit computer for testing ?

Some Calculations are not working in Discoverer 10g after upgrade from 4.1

We are recently upgraded Oracle Discovere 10g from 4.1, some calculations are not working in Discoverer 10g. I appreciate if you could fix below calculation(s) in 10g.

Not sure exactly what this might be... there could be an issue there.
Please make sure that you review the upgrade.log. Are there any errors / warnings?
Also, you might wanna peek the Metalink Note:262623.1 - Master Note for OracleAS Portal Upgrade Issues, where you'll find some nice things where to start looking at.
Later you may wanna open a Service Request into the Oracle Support.

Reporting Services Button not working

Hi,
I am having issues loading data from reporting services (using the reporting services button).When I click on the "refresh on load" box, is not pulling the data automatically. The data gets pulled only if I press the button. Also, the trigger cell feature is not working either. This all started happening when I installed sp1. In the first version of excelsius 2008 engage I had no problem. Also I am pulling data based on date range, the data only pulls automatically if I type the numbers in the cells, if I calculated the date range it no longer works and i have to press the reporting services button for it to pull the data.
is there any setting or a hot fix or some known issues about this?
Note: I am using report parameters
Also, I also opened a model that I had created with first version of excelsius 2008 using sp1. The model did not automatically loaded the data. The flash file of that module works fine (since it was created with the earilier version).
I am sure there is a bug on the reporting services button.

I just upgraded to the new SP fix. I tested, based on an old file that automatically pulls the data from reporting services, but it didnt work. I still have to test it building from scratch using this new version. I dont think they have corrected the reporting services button issue.

Preview resize calculation is not working

The resize calculation isn't working right in Preview as shown in the photos, I changed from a random option back to percent in both examples, I need it to tell me the size reduction in pixels after shrinking by the desired percentage.
Anyone else seeing this? (filed bug report already)

If it's not working from FDMEE but is working when triggered from HFM then I'd suggest starting in HFM and working back from there. You've not mentioned what it says in the FDMEE logs as SH asked but if there are no clues in the FDMEE logs then I'd say to check the HFM HsvEventLog.log to check for signs of problems.

OBIEE 11.1.1.6.5 - selection steps on a calculation does not work correctly

I have a tabular report with a hierarchy column (cost centre) on the left, which is displaying at the top level (total company). The report has a metric for actual ytd, one for budget ytd and a calculation for variance (actual ytd - budget ytd).
When I add a selection step to keep only the top 10 cost centres at the bottom level of the hierarchy based on the variance, the report returns the top 10 cost centres based just on actual ytd ie only the first part of the calculation. It seems to ignore the whole calculation even though it has brackets around it. The selection step appears to be written correctly when I view it in the report but it is not working as I expect.
Has anyone got any thoughts on why this might be and if there is a solution. I have put brackets around the entire calculation, but it doesn't seem to make any difference, it still bases its selection on the first measure it finds in the calculation.

Just curious - do you have multiple "pages" of information - like maybe a time dimension in the paging prompt? I've found numerous issues where, if you have multiple "pages" of info, selection steps completely ignore what page you are on and returns results for the whole set....which is exactly not what any of my end users expect to happen....

Report using charts not work on non-development machine

using visual studio report uses charts. works fine on development machine when I move the web app to a test machine which does NOT contain visual studio, the chart report does not worknote: other reports which only display data records work fine. the space where the charts should be displayed contain the following two lines CrystalReportViewer - CrystalReportViewer1 Error: Fail to render the page. any help would be appreciated

Solution suggested worked for me.
On my test server Crystal was trying to use the c:\temp directory to write the temporary images, my report always ran ok on the test server. On the live server CRW was running under with the ASPNET account and / or my own user account.
I ran FileMon and filtered on the aspnet_wp.exe process across both servers and ran the application up to the point of generating the issue. The FileMon output from the test server showed no issues we as the output from FileMon off the live server showed an access denied message.
I gave access right to the relevant accounts on the relevant folders on the live server and the report ran fine.

Report service is not working after install Discoverer..............

I have installed Oracle Developer Suite 10gR2 (Forms/Reports) on my desktop, they were both working fine for a long time. I installed Discoverer 10gR2 (Administrator and Desktop) on the same machine recently. The Oracle Forms is still good, I can run forms on the local machine after I start OC4J instance. But the Reports is always hanging, even Showjobs. I can access http://host:port/reports/rwservlet, but anything under that is not working, hanging.......

Start the reports server after having set the PATH :

Crstal Report Server does not working on installation of Crystal Design

I had installed Crystal Report Server 2008 on a machine, I was able to login and open the CMC console as well but on installation of Crystal Desing the CMC and inforview are not opening. its displaying some dll file is missing.
Kindly inform whether Server does not work after installation of Design on the same machine.

When I go there I sign in.
I select Installation Help
I select Your Products
A drop down box appears
It says Select Your Product.
The problem is it doesn't show any products to select.

My Labview Report generator is not working with 2013 excel version

My report generator tool kit which was developpend using labview 2011 was workign with excel 2010...after that i installed 2013 excel and the code is not working..
Do i need to enable some setting to work with excel 2013.
Basically this generator tool will copy the charts from excel and paste in power point...Please let me know.

Ah, I understand now - I had assumed you were using the NI Toolkit.
If you're not using the report generation toolkit, did you write your own VIs for communicating with Office or are you using a different toolkit? If you're using ActiveX to communicate with Office it may be that the ActiveX API has changed for Office 2013 - you will probably need to modify your program for the new calls.
Since it wasn't as obvious as I thought with the report generation toolkit, it would help if you posted some code to try and understand what might be happening. Are you getting any errors in your application when you try to use Office 2013?

MS office report function does not work after building the appication

I use the MS office report function with a custom excel template my application.
It works properly in de developstate, but after building the application it does not work .

What error message if any did you get? It could be a couple things:
1. Did you include the Report Toolkit's dynamic vis in the app's build process?

2. How are you giving the path to you custom template, as a relative or an absolute path? The path will be different for the .exe. You have to strip twice.

Reporting and analysis not working in workspace

the startup document specified does not exist in the repository. select a new startup document on the general preference tab.

Report help does not work

We have generated a headstart online helpfile belhelp.htm
All works fine when using online help with forms: the help text uses help context id and bookmarks in het htm file.
Altough help text for all reports is generated in belhelp.htm, following errors and restrictions occur:
1. URL = http:10.1.10.0:7778/hsd65-help//hsd65-help/belhelp.htm is wrong. It should be http:10.1.10.0:7778/hsd65-help/belhelp.htm. How can I resolve this issue?
2. report help does not use bookmarks. Although help context id's are generated in the module defined in design editor, the button 'report help' in the report launch form does not use the bookmark. When I add a bookmark manually it works, eg http:10.1.10.0:7778/hsd65-help/belhelp.htm#BM919000000

This is a known bug that was fixed in Headstart patch 6.5.2.1, available through the supplement option. There are also a small number of other bugs related to reports that are fixed in patch 6.5.2.2, also available through the supplement option.
If you do not already have the supplement option, you can purchase it through your Oracle Consulting representative or through the Oracle store.
