Reports going in queue.

hi all,
In my production server , reports are going in the queue.previously server had the problem (rep-501 unable to connect to specified database).i raised the oracle tar, they suggest me either decrease the EngLife value from 50 to 1 or apply the patch because it is fix bug. and i made the changes as they suggested (engLife=1) after this change the previous problem is gone.But now our production server is live and this problem occur(reports going in the queue) . for the same i increase the maxEng=10 , minEng=4 And initEng=4 and Englife=5 .but agian this problem occur. i saw one more thing in my report server if i set maxEng=10 then why it not works when all of 4 report engines are busy (minEng=4) .

Ok, in all seriousness though, you would get the reporting stats step for each of the metrics you think weighs into EWT, and then crunch your own number
One example might be:

Of course, if you are going to make up your own, be sure to thoroughly test your calculations. This was just an example, not a recommendation.

If your farm is not updated please update it from OCT CU for 2013 project server.
Please update it as cumulative update is having hotfix for this issue.

The report goes into hang mode

While running a oracle 6i report , the report back ground engine displays the status message Formating page1 for a very long time (about 30 minutes) and finally the report goes into hang mode. What would be the reason ?

Report Error Through Queue Manager

I have several reports that I have created over time. They are all currently set to run dynamically on the intranet.
Now I am trying to setup reports that run automatically through the Queue Manger to generate html files. For some reason I end up with the following error ONLY when I try to run the reports through the Queue Manger:
REP-1211: Object 'Body' is larger than its enclosing object 'SUB_COST_UNIT'.
It doesn't matter what report I run. I get this object 'body' error on all my reports for various enclosing objects, but only when I use the Queue Manger. Does have ideas why I would be getting this? I'm thinking I just haven't set the job up correctly.

What's the command you send from queue manager? Normally, it doesn't matter where you send the job request. You should see the error message from queue manager or from rwcli60 (in 6i) or rwclient (in 9i). You need double check the report name, where the report resides and see if the reports engine pick the right report (from REPORTS_PATH for 9i or REPORTS60_PATH for 6i).
Apparently, report does matter in your case because the error message contains object name 'SUB_COST_UNIT'. Not every report contains that named object.

hello,
table RW_SERVER_QUEUE will give you all the info you will ever need about your print jobs. You do need to install a package and then activate the logging.
Very useful when you need to pinpoint why a report is not working.

Yes. If you have installed Reports 6.0 and Reports 6.0 patch 1 or later, you shold find a script %ORACLE_HOME%\report60\sql\rw_server.sql - run this (eg as scott/tiger or some other user), and then in the <servername.ora> file add the parameter repositoryconn="scott/tiger@mydb". Then restart the server, and you should find the queue information being pushed into the DB. Note if the API pushes too much information, or you generally want to customise it then you may - just preserve the function/parameter prototypes.

Printing to Default printer (it's wireless) goes to Queue in Printing Status but never prints.

My Photosmart D110a is connected wirelessly to my computer and I have it set as the Default printer running on Windows 7. It prints fine from local apps like Word. I've run the diagnostic utility and it is all good, all green check marks. When I try to print from the web (like a coupon, for example), it goes to the print queue but is stuck there in 'Printing' status. As I've been trying the troubleshooting steps, I've noticed that the Port is WSD and not an HP port. Is this part of the problem? Also, I used to have an HP Deskjet 5150 connected via USB and am wondering if it's getting confused by that somehow. Would like to remove all references to the Deskjet but I can't find a way to eliminate it.

SOP report goes into word repaginating

I am facing a word repaginating porblem while opening my SOP report.
I have assigned a DMS doc with doc type SBV to the specification work (it is a word .docx file) . I created the report SOP from the specification work bench and it is in realsed state also. But when I tried to view the released report either from CG54 or report management , the word document that is opening goes into the state of word repaginating . It remains in the same status till i cancel the action. But during this process the system outputs the report template perfectly to the extent of report body but the part where i have assigned the DMS doc show some wierd symbols.
If I try to view the report from 'report from template' functionality in CG02 or from cg42 I get the output of dms document as well along with the report template.

Here you would not only have to take care of the document type settings of SBV, but also of SBR and SBE.
Document type SBR (not SBV) is used for generating reports for specifications using released report templates and contain expanded specification data. While, SBV is for only defining the report template in which you use symbols of various symbol types to define the layout of your reports. The link between report templates and report generation variants enables you to generate reports (SBR) and final reports (SBE).
Hence, the problem may be of incorrect settings in document types SBR and SBV. Check the document status and workstation application settings of these doc types based on SAP note # 0000995736.

Hello experts,
I am currently having a big problem with my report. Here is the problem, after displaying the
result(write), when I press BACK button it is not going back to my selection-screen which is the
usual for reports. Now, what happens is that it goes back to the source code or worse, to the main menu of SAP.
What I want to do is that when I press BACK button it should go to either selection-screen 500 or
selection-screen 1500.
Here's a rough flow of what is happening in my report:
start report -> fetch records based on user input -> display results(not in ALV) ->
after displaying report, click 'BACK' button -> it goes back to source code
Now, here's what I want to do:
start report -> fetch records based on user input -> display results(not in ALV) ->
after displaying report, click 'BACK' button -> go back to either selection-screen 500 or 1500
or call again the transaction of my report.
Help would be greatly appreciated here.

Want To Report On (Video) Queue Avg. Util/Max Util with Prime Infr 2.0

We just got Prime Infrastructure 2.0 in, and I've just been given a very aggressive time-line to implement Telepresence. We have an MPLS network with differential services configured. Particularly on the WAN routers, we have modular QoS with LLQ. I'd like to be able to find/report on the maximum utilized BW in a particular queue (with classifications of CS4, AF4X) per day, or the average BW utilization of that queue per hour is. Could someone please suggest what might be the best way to capture that information?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

REP-546 -but other exactly equal report goes well

Hello, I did a report with parameter screen and now I've reused it to do an almost-equal report for similar (not the same) data.
The preliminar view went well, but when I call it from forms...REP-546. I tried to give it values, but it keeps that error, with other parameters, until I've filled all with initail values and it gives directly the report without param screen (I need the param screen). I thought maybe I had done something bad- so I back to the begin, copying again the old report.
That's the really strange thing: I call the original report (ass_pe) and it goes well. I call a copy of that report, without touching anything except the filename (ass_p) and it gives the rep-546!
I've tried to change the report name (properties of the report), without success.
Any idea? Thanks!

Strange, really strange... I changed the report filename and internal name (properties), no t changed, etc...and continues equal, doing REP-546 when the other exact report doesn't do.
The calls from forms are equal. I tried to add PARAMFORM YES to the call, even although the other report doesn't need it, and he continues trying to open directly the report without parameter sscreen and doing rep-546.
Must be a single silly thing, but I don't know what the... can be. Nor reports help, nor similar cases in forums (talks about rep-546 in some messages, but it's always the check/uncheck thing, already looked...)
Any ideas?

SCOM 2012 R2 Upgrade - Reporting goes to install mode instead of Upgrade

I have upgraded all scom managent servers succesfully, but when I try to run setup.exe on the SQL server it doesn't detect the existing SCOM 2012 SP1 Reporting installation and instead of Upgrade mode it goes into Install mode. Have anyone seen this
before?

Can you once check and see if SCOM 2012 / 2012 R2 wizard / program is showing in Add / remove programs
of the reporting server.
If yes can you select uninstall / repair option and give next it will show the installed components
and see if you get the reporting option there as per my screen shot below plz?

Opening existing CC projects goes to queue

Hi,
When I click on ANY existing project AE goes to welcome queue or, if I uncheck the "show welcome screen..." box, it just goes to a new project window. Either way I used to be able to click a project and AE would open THAT project. This is a double search issue that is distracting and downright aggravating. Is something messed up in my preferences?

Helpful, albiet sarcastic footnote. I use a IMac 16G Ram Mountain Lion OS w eternal drives for media storage and 1 external cache (SSD Thunderbolt) drive. I have always opened projects by searching for and selecting a saved project and that file would open. Now, I get a welcome queue that shows recently opened choices only or New Comp, Open Project, etc. I would like to double-click any file and have that specific file open (I do understand that it may require updating to current CC version) without AE asking me where the file is again. This requires re-searching for the specific file.
