Reports hide data lines in footer or header

Hi there,
not sure this is the right section. But I'll try anyhow.
We recently moved our reports from VS2005 to VS2010. The reports worked fine with the old redist package at our clients systems.
Since we migrated to the new development environment and the new redist 13 on the clients systems it seems as if page footers are swalloing up data.
Specificly a invoice document with several positions. if the number of invoice positions is to large to fit on one page, it prints to the bottom of the page, then the footer (which contains a blob field for footer pictures) and continues on the next page. the problem is that between the last row on the first page and the first row of the second page "lines" are missing. No changes have been made to the section expert settings what so ever since the migration.
Pointers into the direction of what might be the problem would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.
Markus

Thank you, we did test this ourslef extensively. Please not that the exact report with the exact code did work for years with CR for VS2005. the problem occured only since we migrated to CR13 for VS2010.
Linking the Report to the XML file did not get me any error messages or the map field dialogue. I am fairly convinced that this is not an issue of date field missmatch of any kind.
The problem is that for different data I put into the report, whatever is at the page break gets lost. A line out of a single text field as well as a whole Row conisting of several fileds of a single datarow or even a sum that is "generated" in the report.
I know that you need me to convice you that the problem is not caused by ourselfs. I'd do the same with our clients. Please take a look at attached XML File and the report sample I posted above.
here the link to the XML File

Thank you for your time.

  • Drill down report:hide multiple line from basic list and disp in secon list

    hi experts ,
I was using checkbox in basic list and user is suppose to check or tick the checkbox .
So in the secondary list I want to display only those row which which are selected (or checked) in checkbox  by the user .
I had tried to use HIDE techineque but it is storing (or hiding) only single (the last which was checked) row and not multiple rows , thats why only single row is display on to secondary list .
So how to hide (or store) multiple row in secondary list to solve this problem  .
    thanks and warm regards ,

    Hi,
You can include the Checkbox field in your Internal Table of type i and when the AT LINE-SELECTION is generated, check for those entries in your internal table with the Checkbox = 'X'. Move them into a Separate Internal Table and Display them in your Secondary List.
    Hope it was Helpful.

  • How to know whether a line in a list is header / footer / data line?

    Dear All,
I have a list with header and footer lines. The lines that contains the actual data has a check box column. Due to the page size I'm using, all of my data will be shown in several pages with each page has header and footer lines.
What I'm doing is to read the check box in each line by using the following code:
      DO.
READ LINE sy-index LINE VALUE INTO wa.
        IF wa-mark IS NOT INITIAL.
The field 'mark' is the check box field.
The problem here is the header and footer lines are also read by the READ LINE sy-index LINE VALUE INTO wa statement while I want to treat header and footer lines specially.
Is there any way to mark a line as header / footer / data line?
    Thanks in advance,
    Haris

The header and footer should have some standard text. You can check for that.

  • Converted Crystal Statement Report not showing line level data properly

    Hi all,
We have an issue with a Cystral-converted PLD Customer Statement layout behaving strangely when printing for a customer with multiple pages.
When the statements are printed for a customer that has line level data which fills about an A4 page, this print absolutely fine; customer header data, line data etc. However, when we print for a customer that has more lines that can fit onto the one page, Crystal does the following:
Page 1 - Customer Header info and column headers (OK); Line level info until bottom of page (OK)
Page 2 - Customer Header info and column headers (MISSING); Line level info (ONLY ONE LINE APPEARS INDIVIDUALLY ON THIS PAGE BUT IS THE NEXT LINE CONTINUING FROM FROM THE PREVIOUS PAGE)
Page 3 - Customer Header info and column headers (OK); Line level info until bottom of page (OK - CONTINUING FROM THE INDIVIDUAL LINE FROM THE PREVIOUS PAGE)
Page 4 - Customer Header info and column headers (MISSING); Line level info (ONLY ONE LINE APPEARS INDIVIDUALLY ON THIS PAGE BUT IS THE NEXT LINE CONTINUING FROM FROM THE PREVIOUS PAGE)
    etc...
So what basically seems to be happening is that every other page, Crystal just sticks in an individual line on it's own without any headers or anything OR other lines.
Help please! Quite likely a 'Section Expert' issue but we don't know what setting could be causing this.

Sounds like the report is trying to print multiple pages with blank pages in between, is the normal report ie details fit onto an A4 page printing with a blank back page?
It will be page number resets and suppression of details on pagenumber = 2
YOu need to go to section expert and go through each section noting what conditions have been suppressed and if any formula boxes are red then open and see what they do.
Try turn conditions on and off and commenting out any formula conditiona and see what happens. By a process of elimination you should be able to work it out. However, you may have to stop the introduction of a blank page some how.

    Hi M.S.GopalKrish,
According to your description, it seems that you want to make the tablix rows to fill page size? We can configure the text box height size to work around the issue.
Use this method, we need to calculate the average height size of the text box in the tablix. For more details, please see:
    We can use
RowNumber() function to calculate the row number of the tablix.
Calculate the page height size of the tablix in Property windows.
Use the page height size divided by row number. We can get the average height size of the text box.
    Hope this helps.

  • Reports show cgicmd.dat line on error

    Hello,
We're using cgicmd.dat to hide DB username and password from users. The reports are run through a URL generated by a java client. If a user plays with the URL in the browser opened for the report and corrupt it in a way, Reports returns an error page containing the cgicmd.dat line corresponding to the key we're using. The same line containing DB username and password. Are there other ways to hide it from users? We do not want our users to authenticate separately when running reports.
    Regards,
    Muzaffer Ozakca

If you are using Reports 9i, you can use the Reports Data source Single Sign-On feature. DB username and password will be saved in OiD. See details at Chapter 7 of following doc:
    http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/reports/htdocs/doc_library/getstart/docs/a92102_01.pdf
For the problem you described, please work with Oracle support and have a bug filed.

  • Moving data into internal table without header line

    Hello experts.
i have two internal tables . itab1 without headerline and itab2 with headerline. itab1 has 10 fields and itab2 has 2 fields.
    BEGIN OF itab,
            lifnr LIKE lfa1-lifnr,
            ktokk LIKE lfa1-ktokk,
            name1 LIKE lfa1-name1,
            sortl LIKE lfa1-sortl,
            pstlz LIKE lfa1-pstlz,
            ort01 LIKE lfa1-ort01,
            land1 LIKE lfa1-land1,
           j_1ipanno LIKE j_1imovend,
    end of itab.
DATA: itab1 TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF itab.
data: begin of itab2 occurs 0,
          lifnr like j_1imovend-lifnr,
          j_1ipanno like j_1imovend-j_1ipanno,
      end of itab2.
now i want to move the data from itab2-j_1ipanno into itab1-j_1ipanno. so pls tell me how to do that. lifnr in both the tables are the same.
    thanks for all the replies.

    Hi Shiva,
    In with out header line,
You declare header line & body separately like
data: IT_MARA type standard table of MARA,
    WA_MARA like line of IT_MARA.
    Advantages:
    1. Clear differentiation of header line over body
    2. It is must in the ABAP Objects to have separate header line & body
    3. Use ful in Nested Internal tables
    Disadvantages:
    1. Long syntax
for example: Loop at IT_MARA into WA_MARA.
    In with header line
Data ITAB like MARA occurs 0 with header line.
    Advantages:
    1. Simple to use & declare over without header line.
    Also,
    With Header line:
codedata : itab like <dbtable> occurs 0 with header line.
Data: begin of itab occurs 0,
    f1 type f1,
    f2 type f2,
    end of itab.[/code]
    Without Header line.
    codeTypes: begin of ty_tab,
    f1 type f1,
    f2 type f2,
    end of ty_tab.
Data: itab type table of ty_tab, " Internal Table
    wa type ty_tab. " Work Area[/code]
at any point of time use internal table without header line,it will be good performance as well OO ABAP will allow only internal table without header line.
Just use one simple example :
create one simple program with header line, use get run time field.
create one simple program without header line, use get run time field.
see the results ,here time will be micro seconds,so take 1000 records to internal table and do calculate the time.
While adding or retrieving records to / from internal table we have to keep the record temporarily.
The area where this record is kept is called as work area for the internal table. The area must have the same structure as that of internal table. An internal table consists of a body and an optional header line.
Header line is a implicit work area for the internal table. It depends on how the internal table is declared that the itab will have the header line or not.
    e.g.
data: begin of itab occurs 10,
    ab type c,
    cd type i,
end of itab. " this table will have the header line.
data: wa_itab like itab. " explicit work area for itab
data: itab1 like itab occurs 10. " table is without header line.
The header line is a field string with the same structure as a row of the body, but it can only hold a single row.
It is a buffer used to hold each record before it is added or each record as it is retrieved from the internal table. It is the default work area for the internal table.
    kindly reward if found helpful.
    cheers,
    Hema.

  • SSRS 2008 - hide chart lines based on parameter selected

How to control visibility of chart lines based on Params selected by user?
By default, my report display last 3 years worth of data (including current) with Month on the x axis and Counts on the y axis. I have two Boolean parameters:
    TwoYrs? T/F
    ThreeYrs? T/F
if False is selected for TwoYr and ThreeYr parameters then I want to hide chart lines corresponding to last year and the year before.
What I've tried: Created 3 Series groups with filters. eg. YearSeries1 to return only current year data and applying an expression to display it if params TwoYrs and ThreeYrs = False. and so on for YearSeries2 to return current + last
years data if param TwoYrs is True and ThreeYrs = False.  But I don't see where to add expression to control the display of the individual series groups.  I am open to any way of doing this, but this seemed most logical.

    Hi Ok-Hee,
In your Source Query just need to filter the series data based on the Parameters.
I have written sample query below:-
    select * from
    select 1 monthnumber , 'Jan' MonthName, 2013 year,100 amount
    union
select 1 monthnumber , 'Jan' MonthName, 2014 year ,200 amount
    union

  • SQL Report Writing blank lines or Formfeeds

I have a SQL Report that prints the data out correctly. My problem is there are several formfeeds or blank lines written at the top of the spool file. The report prompts users for information, does several calls to the database to create headings, creates 3 temp tables. The temp tables are:
TEMP1 - gathers information that is summed in TEMP2
TEMP2 - stores data from temp1 that has been summed
TEMP3 - creates the report using data from TEMP2 and other tables
A command file calls the sql file. Inside of the command file is the call to the spool file. Overview of code:
set trimspool on When these are on I get formfeeds. When they
set trimout on are off, it prints blank lines.
    set heading off
    set echo off
    set feedback off
    set verify off
    set newpage 1
    set space 0
    set pagesize 60
    set linesize 160
    clear columns
    prompt user for information
create headings and titles by quering various tables
create and insert data into TEMP1
create and insert data into TEMP2
create, insert, and update data into TEMP3
    BEGIN report with TTITLE
    SELECT * from TEMP3
    end of report.
When I run the report in sql without using the command file, I get the same results.
Any suggestions as to what is creating this or how to get rid of it?
    Thanks for your help,
    Penny

    Yes I have a suggestion.
Please move your spool line to just before the SELECT statement.
    [not_meaning_to_be_sarcastic__really]
I have another suggestion. Please move your spool line to just before the SELECT statement.
Maybe if I say it enough times - you might actually take and try the suggestion. I find it useful when I ask people questions, to listen to them.
    [not_meaning_to_be_sarcastic__really]
I mean no offense - but I gave you that answer days ago and it doesn't seem like you have tried it yet. TTITLE will be fired off when the SELECT is called, there is no need to have the 'spool' before the TTITLE.
It will take you maybe - tops - 10 minutes to give it a try - what'do'ya say - give'her'a'spin?
-- all your junk that creates form feeds or line feeds
    SPOOL file_name_to_spool_to
    SELECT * from TEMP3;
    SPOOL OFF
    -- etc.

  • Hide data in a table view

    Hi,
I need to hide data in a table..Only column headers required to display.. I tried by (display column headers only) in view..It is showing only column header in the view ..But when iam displaying the table in dashboard it displays data also..another approach i took is to hide data from column properties ...Custom css display:none.. it is working fine..But the thing is it will not display data in other views also.I need to hide data only in table view..any helps will be appreciated.. Thank you

    Hi Aswin,
    Try this....
Take columns twice and first set which is use in table view (use display:none)
and second set use in pivot table and exclude first set columns........
    Cheers,

  • Date format of footer in pdf

How to change the date format of footer from dd/mm/yyyy to Monday 09 August 2010 when we down load the report in pdf file

    Hi,
Revenue is a sample column. You can pull any measure column used in the report.
And put this formula in a separate new column. And in the narrative view use this column number. For Ex- if the number of the column in the criteria is 15, then mention @15 in the narrative view.
NOTE-Rows to display in narrative view should be set to 1.
And in the formula-CEILING(CAST(COUNT("F1 Revenue"."1-01 Revenue (Sum All)") as DOUBLE)/ 25)
25 refers to the number of row count to display. You can define the number according to your requirement.

  • To run a report from command line, when using jdbc-odbc bridge

    Hi,
How to run a report from command line, when using jdbc-odbc bridge?
Usually with tns, we do by "rwrun module=<> userid=<user>/<passwd>@tns".
with odbc, we do by "rwrun module=<> userid=<user>/<passwd>@odbc:DSN"
Please specify, what is command line arguments for jdbc-odbc bridge driver?
Environment : Oracle 9i Report Builder on WinNT
    Database : Sybase
    Regards,
    Ramanan

    Hello Ramanan,
Report Builder : connect JDBC Query in Report Builder is to through Connection Dialog in JDBC Query Editor. User can use a Sign on parameter (can use, default : P_JDBCPDS or can create new) to connect to JDBC Data Source. Connection once made will be mentioned and will be reused through out Reports Builder.
JDBC PDS allows user to connect one or more same or different kind of databases.
While running report through runtime or Server, user can pass the sign on parameter(connection string) value, like any other user parameter.
Syntax for connection string : <username>/<password>@databaseURL . The syntax of database part of connection string depend on the type of JDBC Driver used to connect to Data Source while designing the JDBC Query. databaseURL refer to the location of the database and its format depend on the JDBCPDS river selected in design time while creating the JDBC Query.
    rwrun eg :
    rwrun report=jdbc_odbc.rdf destype=file desname=output.html desformat=html P_JDBCPDS=scott/tiger@database
    Server eg :
    http://server.com:8888/servlet/RWServlet?server=MyReportServer+report=jdbc_odbc.rdf+destype=cache+desformat=html+P_JDBCPDS=scott/tiger@database

  • Can't delete previous unread messages in hub pinch view via select previous (hold date line)

Happily running OS 10.2.1.2141 on my Z10 (STL100-3). I was thrilled to see the hub's Pinch Selection Criteria option in 10.2.1 but did not have the occasion to try it. Then this weekend, my mailbox got flooded with email notices from our alert system and I was facing having to delete hundreds of emails the old tedious way, multi-select each email one at a time and hit the delete option.  Well, that's when I tried to use the hub's new pinch selection option to "hide" my read messages. I then held the date line to select all the previous messages and hit the delete option which asked my if a really wanted to delete those messages. I confirmed by choice and poof! nothing happened. I tried several times to no avail, even trying with flagged messages. It looks like you can't delete messages while in Pinch Selection view if you select them via the Select previous (hold date line) method. It does work if you select/multi-select the messages manualy but what's the point then?....
So, unless i'm doing it wrong, this appears to be a bug.
    Regards,
    Francis.....

that should be the point of the pinch selection criteria and you're select by sender.... let's see if anyone can reproduce the "bug" on their handsets or better yet, BlackBerry confirms it's a bug or poor design......
when I pinch and hold a date bar, I get the trash can... do you not?
    fpaquin wrote:
Yup, that's the tedious way I've always used, ok for a few emails, unacceptable for hundreds of emails.....
Oh, yea for hundreds. Do you get hundreds each day you need to delete?
Once you get caught up on your deleting, then your daily upkeep should be a reasonable low effort.
    Anyways, that's how it works.
If you feel it is an OS issue... what OS are you on?

  • Sales hierarchy . role based reports and Data access, Best practice and sol

    Dear all,
Currently working on a solution for Sales. There a geography and sales position hierarchy.
    e.g. (USA,EU,ASIA) --> EU head -->UK head -->Northern UK head -->London head -->East london--> Postal codes in east london.
so altogether 7 roles and 7 positions, all these users can see data at it's level and below.
Also the summary report/ Prompts/ subject area columns for each of these users must be at their corresponding level and just 1 level below.
e.g. EU head by default must see column EU and country UK, UK head will see report only for UK and Northern UK region and so on.
After lots of thinking i am planing to take approach of creating 6 sets of similar dashboard/ different prompts/ different global filters/ reports.
Data level access is not at all issue i am easily able to manage.
Request experts to guide is there is any other better approach to take for objects in catalog.?
    many thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Yogen

    Dear Srini,
Data level Security is not at all issue for me. Have already implement it and so far not a single bug in testing is caught.
It's about object level security and that too for 6 different types of user demanding different reports i.e. columns and detailed drill downs are different.
Again these 6 types of users can be read only users or power users (who can do ad hoc analysis) may be BICONSUMER and BIAUTHOR.
so need help regarding that...as we have to take decision soon.
    thanks,
    Yogen
