Reports Size (URgent) !!!

Hi
Does anybody have solutions to the following :
1) If the report size (REPORTS 3.0) is more than 4MB & after
saving the report & re-opening the same, I find some fields
missing in the layout editor.
2) How do I supress system error message in Reports 3.0 ?
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
The Reports 6.0.8.8.3 is base version. There is lot of character mode bug fixes between base and latest patch. Please apply latest patch-13 and try it.

  • Retrieving Webi report size using BO XI SDK

    Hi,
    How do I retrieve the size of the BO Webi report using BO XI SDK? I am migrating a java application from BO 6 to BO XI, and in the existing code WIDocument.getDocSize() is used to retrieve the report size. What is the equivalent of this in BO XI?
    Thanks,
    Subham

    Hi Subham,
    If you are looking for the size of the WID file, you can get this through the InfoObject.
    Please note that this WID file only changes if the WebI document was actually saved.
    Below is a sample code snippet that will retrieve the file size from an InfoObject:
    IInfoStore boInfoStore = (IInfoStore) boEnterpriseSession.getService("InfoStore");
    String query = "SELECT SI_FILES FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_INSTANCE='false' AND SI_NAME='" + webiDoc + "'";
    IInfoObjects boInfoObjects = boInfoStore.query(query);
    if (boInfoObjects.size() > 0) {
         IInfoObject boInfoObject = (IInfoObject) boInfoObjects.get(0);
         IFiles boFiles = boInfoObject.getFiles();
         IFile boFile = null;
         for (int i=0; i<boFiles.size(); i++) {
             boFile = (IFile) boFiles.get(i);
             out.print(boFile.getName() + ": " + boFile.getSize() + "<BR>");
    } else {
          out.print("No WebI document found!");
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Dan

    Hi,
    I hope you can send 2MB ,if your getting any error try to increase rows in your instanceconfig.xml file kindly do the below things
    You need to increase the size and need to include one tag in instanceconfig.xml to increase the size and restart the presentation services.
    by default delivers will send only 250 records.
    take a original backup and the do it
    insert the following code into instanceconfig.xml.
    <Views>
    <Table> <DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>100000</Defau ltRowsDisplayedInDelivery>

  • Report Size to fit Chart Size

    Using the dynamic width and dynamic height properties of a chart I will change the size of the chart dynamically.
    However, when exporting the chart to an image I want it to export at the chart size and not be restricted to the static size of the page.
    Any way to do this ?

    Hi St33ln,
    If I understand correctly, you want to make the size of report to fit the size of chart, so the chart can be fully displayed after export the report to an image. Based on my research, I find that PageSize property is a static value. The page size does not
    grow or shrink to accommodate the contents of the report body. If you want the report to appear on a single page, all the content within the report body must fit on the physical page.
    So in your scenario, I couldn’t find an appropriate method to make the report size automatically change to fit the chart size. This is by design. As a workaround, I suggest that you can change the size of report to an appropriate value based on the chart
    size you may select.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Image quality and report size

    Hello,
    I have a problem in the export to PDF document. I use CR 10.2 with Visual Studio 2005 in a web application.
    My problem is that I have a report of photographies, in wich I need an aceptable image quality. I don´t show the report in an report viewer, I create the report document and export it to PDF sending the memorystram in the http reponse.
    Firstly I see that the PDF document image quality was so bad. Then I checked the report property "Retain original color depth", and the image quality was good, but the PDF size was too big, two photographies of about 2MB(each one) generates a PDF file of about 20MB size.
    I need to send the pdf files to the clients via email, but the files are so big, and if the cllient inserts 10 photographies, the report size would be of about 100MB. Is there any wallkaround to this issue?. Is there this issue fixed in crystal reports XI?
    Best regards

    See [this|Crystal to PDF; thread. As unsatisfactory as the answer may be, it is what it is...
    I believe R&D is looking at this issue, but as an enhancement for a future release of CR.

  • Teststand report size

    The teststand report size in xml format is almost 200 times bigger than html format. Does anyone know why is this? And how to decrease the xml report size. This is very importment to my application.
    Thanks
    Franklin Pang

    Howdy Franklin,
    XML files by nature are going to be large.  This is mostly due to the fact that a large number of tags are needed to describe any data.  Additionally, the files are saved in ASCII format, making it easy to read in any text editor, but even larger in size.
    A solution in this case would be to write your own XML schema which is streamlined for the minimum amount of information and tags needed to describe the data.  However, this is a complex solution that would require you to have good knowledge of XML.  Also, you would save some space, but the optimized schema still may not fit your size needs.
    If size is very important for your reporting needs, you may want to consider using HTML or ASCII reporting as an alternative.
    Thanks and have a great day!

  • How to save data in a report?Urgent...

    hi all,
    I'm doing a project in java to create report generator..After creating a report i have to save the report..For that i have to save the datas & the program to execute the data..My doubt is that how i would store the data?.According to my idea i created a table that contains the field names for report header,date ,fieldcount etc..how to store the field values?Because different people selecting different fields from a table..How could i store the values?is it to create each table for storing field values for each report?Could you please clarify my doubt as soon as possible?
    Regards

    hi,
    Thanks so much for your quick reply..i'll clear my doubt..I'm doing a project in java that helps to create reports for java programs(same concept as that of crystal repots)..For that I made 3 tabs in a tabpane.The first tab consists of Mainpanel(to select the database,then table, fields and report header)..The next tab is the Design tab.This tab consists of ReportHeader,PageHeader,Detail Section etc.In this tab there are facilities to adjust the font size,font type,the position of each headings and field positions.And final tab is the Preview tab.Here the reports can be viewed with the selected font and with data for each field..Here i have to give an option to save the report.To save the report i have to save the data and the code necessary to execute these datas.i think i have to store the font type,font size,the x && y position that the user selected at the time of design.My doubt is how could I save these values?by using database & table concept or by using FileOutPutStreams..The number of field sthe user selected may be diffreent for each of the file?Didi you get my doubt?Hope you got it..

  • Report output - - - Urgent

    I have an existing report. The first data field is concatenation of three fields and this fields data is like the following
    ABCD ( X12 )
    DEFF ( Y34 )
    GSSD ( TST )
    Here I need to get the data output in the order of values within the parentheses instead of starting values of the fields data. Desired output should be like
    GSSD ( TST )
    ABCD ( X12 )
    DEFF ( Y34 )
    To get these values I have added an order by clause to the existing query like
    ORDER BY SUBSTR (field_name, INSTR (field_name, ( ) )
    But I havent got the report output in required order. (ButIf I check this query in SQL I am getting the values in desired order).
    Please tell me a solution to resolve this issue (because existing report is quite complex and I dont want to create this report from scratch).
    Thank you in advance

    I suppose this is the master group of a query and you also have a detail group. The detail group is ordered by the order by in aselect, but the master group is ordered by the break order. Add the substr... as a column to the query. In the Data model move this new column as the first one in the group, so the break order will be dictated by it.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
    Thank you for response... i did try that scenario before but it wasn't work.

  • Bug in Reports 6 Urgent

    HI,
    I have Reports (dev 6.0.5). Whenever I use Built in package LIST in my application it compiles but during execution I get an error that package not found...please help URGENT
    TIA
    Anand

    I can't reproduce this with Reports 6i (6.0.8). Are you sure that it's the LIST package that's causing the compilation issues (often this issue can be caused by running against a different database that was compiled against, and data structure changes making automatic compilation impossible).
    If you've checked this out, and still feel that you have a bug then I would suggest that you log an iTAR with Oracle Support.

  • Time out error in oracle reports--very urgent

    Hi
    I have this oracle report on 9i which calls 14 other reports and runs them
    via a wrapper report which I run from a URL
    However I get this engine null crashed error or else Engine rwEng-0 is destroyed due to timeout error.
    From what I understand there is a timeout issue happening bcoz reports is taking a long time to run.Hence I increased the value of engineResponseTimeOut but it does not help either.Would you have any other idea to resolve this issue?
    Could someone plz tell me urgently how can this be resolved.This is on Oracle 9i.
    Thanks

    Hi Ravi kanth,
    You are using select * statement which is very time consuming and low performance. Dont use select * instead use select field1 field2.... into table itab  where field1 = s_field.  Use corresponding field names in the select statement.
    Follow the below rules.
    1) Dont use nested select statements
    2) If possible use for all entries in addition
    3) In the where addition make sure you give all the primary key
    4) Use Index for the selection criteria.
    5) You can also use inner joins
    6) You can try to put the data from the first select statement into an Itab and then in order to select the data from the second table use for all entries in.
    7) Use the runtime analysis SE30 and SQL Trace (ST05) to identify the performance and also to identify where the load is heavy, so that you can change the code accordingly
    <b>reward if useful</b>.

  • How to print a width height report? Urgent!

    I must print some data on pre-printed table. The table is 680w*263h. When I print, I set orientation and size, but the result becomes a 680h*263w report. Below is my code. I'm working on JDK1.4.2-08, is this a JDK bug? please help me, thanks.

    das.add(new MediaPrintableArea(0,0,680,263,MediaPrintableArea.MM));
    Doc doc = new SimpleDoc(new TestPrint(), flavor, das);
    PrintRequestAttributeSet pras = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet();
    job.print(doc, pras);
    public int print(Graphics g ,PageFormat pf , int pageIndex )
              if(pageIndex != 0 )return java.awt.print.Printable.NO_SUCH_PAGE;
    g.drawString("Hello World1!",0,20);
    pf.setOrientation(java.awt.print.PageFormat.PORTRAIT);
    Paper paper = new Paper();
    paper.setSize(680,263);
    pf.setPaper(paper);
    System.out.println(pf.getOrientation());
    System.out.println(pf.getWidth());
    System.out.println(pf.getHeight());
              return java.awt.print.Printable.PAGE_EXISTS;

    If orietation changes to 'LANDSCAPE', all the characters orientation becomes vertical. I just want to print a report like this:

    Have you tried to click on the property palette of the 'Main Section' under 'Layout Model'. There you can set the Report Width and Height.

    If any query has to be run, could u pls tell me how to do the same.
    Regrds,
    Binayak

    Hello
    A query may have some limitations. Data inconsistency / transport issues and so on. Definitely as a workaround solution you could try to prepare a query. Take the ABAPper help.
    As a long term solution, develop a new Z report. There could available standard reports, which can be copied and modified easily.

    Hi,
    In your code you are appending new lines at two places and at the end you are trying to display all the four values:
    SELECT MATNR TXZ01 ITO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF ITAB1 FROM EKPO WHERE EBELN = ITAB-EBELN.
    APPEND ITAB1.
    SELECT MENGE WEMNG INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF ITAB1 FROM EKET WHERE EBELN = ITAB-EBELN.
    APPEND ITAB1.
    For the above two Append Statement , Relate the four fields using modify statement in the second append using correct index values.
